Ohio -- A man and woman are charged in connection with the daytime
armed robbery of a 75-year-old
owner of a Polish deli in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood.Demetrius Smith, 26, and Venus Vanitzan, 38, are charged with aggravated robbery. Both are being held in the Cleveland City Jail on $150,000 bond after they made their first court appearances on Monday. The duo is accused on May 14 of robbing Sophie Tyl, the owner of Seven Roses Polish Deli on Fleet Avenue. Tyl walked into the store on Fleet Avenue and East 63rd Street. Vanitzan followed her and knocked on the door. The deli was closed at the time and Vanitzan asked to speak with Tyl. Tyl recognized Vanitzan because she had given her free food a few times over the previous six months, court records say. Tyl opened the door to talk to her. Smith emerged from around the corner and put a handgun to her head, according to court records. He threatened to kill her and demanded cash, police said. Tyl pulled $600 from her bra that was meant to pay the deli's electric bill. Smith grabbed the money and he and Vanitzan ran away, according to police reports. Smith is a registered sex offender... convicted for having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl he impregnated... Clayton Fulks says Ross met a man while they were in jail and was intimate with him behind bars. Fulks says they continued their relationship after they were released. (CBS SF) — A Fairfield father has been charged with nine counts of
torture and six counts of abuse after his children described to
investigators being intentionally burned and shot with a pellet or
BB gun, officials announced Monday.Fairfield police said 29-year-old Jonathan Allen was taken into custody on Friday and was being held in Solano County Jail. Meanwhile, the children’s mother, Ina Rogers, a 30-year-old Fairfield resident, has been booked on child neglect charges. “They (the officers) found unsafe and unsanitary living conditions including garbage and spoiled food on the floor, animal and human feces and a large amount of debris making areas of the house unpassable.” During the search of the home, officers located nine more children, ranging in age from 4 months to 11 years old, living in squalor and unsafe conditions. |

Va. – On Friday, 43-year-old Marc Harding will serve one
year and six months in prison for animal cruelty after officials say
that he beat his dog so badly that it died. Harding was sentenced
fully to 5-years, but a total of 3 years and 6 months was suspended.
He will have two years of supervised probation after his release. In
January, Harding’s neighbors wrote into News 3 shortly after the
abuse happened, asking us to investigate. When we asked Chesapeake
Police about the animal’s death they confirmed the crime had
happened. According to police, the dog’s body was found on a dirt
road near Harding’s Sloop Trail home. |

shot at killed a clerk at a Wyoming gas station Monday morning.The victim was identified to 24 Hour News 8 by her ex-husband as 49-year-old Shannon Schoen. She was a mother of four: three daughters ages 17, 19 and 21 and an 11-year-old son. The shooting happened around 6 a.m. at the Marathon gas station at the intersection of 28th Street and Buchanan Avenue. The owner of the gas station said he was working when the gunman — who he said he didn't recognize — came in. Police originally said the victim was the only person inside. The owner said the gunman shot Schoen then turned to him, asking him for "everything he has." The owner said he didn't have anything on him. That's when the gunman turned to Schoen, fired another shot and left, according to the owner. The gunman is described as a black man around 6 feet tall with a slim build. Johnson pretended to be a pet owner searching for a dog
sitter. He’s accused of using Rover.com, a pet services app, to
trick the teen, who was interested in working for him, to come to
his home. When she arrived, he allegedly trapped her behind a locked
door, offered her money for sex acts and exposed himself before
groping her. There was never a dog in the house, authorities said. |

S.C. (WPDE) — A Bennettsville woman is charged with assault after
she reportedly threw cleaner on a man, causing severe burns,
according to a police report. Denise Nicole Stanback, 34, was
arrested on Thursday, May 10, after an incident that took place at a
residence on Cook Street, according to Bennettsville police.The statement from police says Stanback was "dousing acid on the victim," but the police report clarifies that it was a powerful drain cleaner called "hot power drain cleaner." According to the report, an officer was called to the scene and saw a 44-year-old man washing off in the front yard with a hose. The man had "severe burns on the right side of his body stretching from his head to his feet." The man said Stanback threw acid on him and that his shirt "melted off of his body," according to the report. |

her for a ride to the Loris area, to which she consented. Once they

of the area, she was unable to find the man, but was contacted by
another male, who police later identified as the suspect:

A Bronx man was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats
Sunday after a photo of him holding a handgun next to a police car
appeared on social media, along with a hateful screed,
authorities said. The photo, which was posted to Facebook on Friday,
shows Kelvin Rodriguez, 21, in front of a marked
police car from the 45th Precinct as another, unidentified man
speaks to cops through the cruiser’s open window (not visible in
this crop).The photo was captioned “Stupid dumb ass ni—s f–k the 45,” police sources said. The post set off a manhunt and police scoured the precinct for Rodriguez, a police source said. Cops found him riding a bicycle against traffic on Frisby Avenue near Rowland Street on Saturday night. He was initially charged with resisting arrest and criminal possession of a controlled substance, cops said. Blackwood. Pirri left a trail of blood

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have arrested a 19-year-old man who
allegedly opened fire at a house party, killing a man and woman in
North Philadelphia last weekend. Sydear Green, from the 1800
block of West Norris Street was arrested on Thursday, May 10 and
charged with two counts of murder, and related offenses. Viktoriya
Manasyan, 20, of Holland, Pa., died after being shot in
the back. Rashawn Tahir Miller, 21, of the 5700
block of Warrington Avenue, died after being shot in the head. Two
other victims were injured after gunfire erupted in
the 1800 block of West Diamond Street just after midnight
Saturday. Witnesses told police the shooter came out of a side
alley and shot Miller. But then, the witnesses say, the suspect
continued the assault, opening fire at those standing outside... no
word on a motive. Viktoriya Manasyan,
a resident of Holland, PA, died suddenly on Saturday morning in
Philadelphia. She was 20. Born in Dnipro, Ukraine, Viktoriya

COUNTY, S.C. – Deputies in Lancaster County arrested a third
teenager in connection with a murder that occurred on May 10.The sheriff's office said 17-year-old Brennan Jamil Patterson Jr. was taken into custody on May 17. He was standing by the carport of a home on Locustwood Avenue just before 1:00 p.m., according to deputies. Patterson was charged with murder and attempted murder. On May 15, Ka’Darius Aintwayn Kirkland, 19, was also charged with murder and attempted murder. Authorities said he turned himself in without incident. Dorian Tyrese Clyburn was the first suspect charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection with the shooting. Due to his age, the 16-year-old was transported to a juvenile detention center in Columbia. According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported shooting on Pine Ridge Drive off Fork Hill Road. When police arrived, they found a man and woman inside a silver Nissan Altima suffering from gunshot wounds. Detectives said a four-year-old boy was in the backseat of the car at the time. The man, identified as Vincent Barry Lambert Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital and was expected to recover. YouTube video shows Magee when he weighed 265 pounds and fought with what was then called WWF in the ’80s. A true Goliath in the ring, Magee later became a neighborhood watchdog. “Tom came and encountered the young men, and it proceeded to a fight,” says friend Kendall Noxxel. Magee suffered a broken jaw, broken eye socket and concussion. “It was sort of a conflict over who was allowed to park in this spot,” Noxxel said. A neighbor who was a witness but didn’t want to show her face on camera described the horrendous scene. “They were literally kicking him, punching him in the face and in the head,” said the neighbor. She said six men were involved in the attack. When neighbors came out to see what was going on, the men took off. When they rushed over to Magee, they said he was incoherent. “To me, it was attempted murder. If we wouldn’t have come out here I don’t know if he would be alive. authorities said she was stabbed in

after reports of two to three vehicles traveling at a high rate of
speed on the greenway, which is designated for pedestrians and
cyclists. Officers initially found that two
horses had been shot. The
horse who was killed was named Jelly and Dixie was the injured
horse. On Tuesday, police confirmed that a
third horse, whose owners say is named Cisco, was also shot.
Cisco’s injuries are considered minor. Police believe he was injured
in the same shooting, not a separate one.As a result of an investigation, police arrested Alonzo Djuan Cross, of Winston-Salem, and charged him with six counts of possibilities for stolen firearm, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, three counts of felony cruelty to animal, two counts of possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and discharging a firearm within the city limits. Press-Telegram reported. She testified that Jahn took an interest in
her after the student wrote an essay about her romantic attraction
to a girl online. The now-24-year-old woman said Jahn sexually
abused her for four years, introducing acts that included
bondage, flogging and hot wax and that she carved her initials

Ga. - After a DNA match, a man has been arrested and charged with a
woman's murder that happened nearly 16 years ago. The victim, Pamela
Crisler was stabbed to death in her Athens apartment in
August 2002. The suspect in Crisler's killing remained on the run
for over a decade until forensic science caught up with him.
Investigators arrested and charged 34-year-old Salaam Laroche
in the murder. Few who live in the apartment complex where Crisler
died knew she was a substance abuse counselor and knew the grim
details of her violent death. "Cause of death was multiple
sharp injuries, resulting from someone being stabbed to death,"
said Sgt. David Norris, Athens-Clark County Police Department.

Pa. -- Police in Wayne County have caught a fourth man they believe
is responsible for a beating death near Gouldsboro. Kevin Jordan,

WORTH, Fla. - A South Florida man told a deputy he bit a dog's ear
in an effort "to establish dominance." Patrick Campbell,
27, of Lake Worth, was arrested Thursday on a charge of aggravated
animal cruelty. When the deputy arrived, he was greeted by
Campbell's roommates, who claimed Campbell was disciplining his 2-year-old
Siberian husky named Dimitri. The men told the deputy
that Campbell "beat the hell out of him." The deputy found the dog
in Campbell's bedroom closet. The deputy said the room smelled of urine
and feces and there was blood on the floor.
When the deputy questioned Campbell about the blood coming from
Dimitri's ear, Campbell said "I bit him to establish

was arrested for allegedly raping and robbing a Bronx teacher just a

$1,000 to spring Lynneke Burris, 30, from jail on April 5
after he was busted for allegedly punching a man in the face and
carrying crack.The next week, he was arrested in the assault of a 23-year-old high-school English teacher in her Concourse Village, Bronx, apartment building. Burris, from Brooklyn, followed the woman into the building’s elevator around 12:30 a.m. on April 12 and he put her in a chokehold until she passed out, court documents allege. He then dragged her to a stairwell — and once she came to, he allegedly threatened to kill her, ordering her to remove her clothes before raping her. Afterward, Burris demanded she hand over her wallet and PIN code — then fled and withdrew more than $200 from her bank account, according to prosecutors. The nonprofit was recently expanded into a national organization called The Bail Project, which has secured at least $30 million in funding from the likes of British billionaire Richard Branson and record executive Jason Flom. |

Monday after a mentally disabled woman came forward and told law
enforcement he had raped her.George Edward Ferguson, 44, of Gainesville, picked up the 32-year-old woman, from an event she attends twice a week, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office report says. The woman has the mental capacity of a child. Sheriff’s spokesman Art Forgey said Ferguson took her home, parked the transport bus in her driveway and “raped her right there on the bus.” “It’s a very heinous crime,” he said. Sheriff’s officials say the rape occurred April 27 and the woman reported it April 30, according to Ferguson’s arrest report. It said Ferguson forced the woman to perform oral sex. He then turned the woman around and raped her, before telling the woman to throw away her underwear. The report says Ferguson then went inside the woman’s home to wash his hands, while she threw away her underwear as he had instructed. |

carry weapon on him. Gainesville police said they got called to a
shooting Monday morning in NW Gainesville. Officers say the victim
was coming home from a movie theater with family members, and while
they were parked Arkeem Bennett approached them with a
handgun in an attempt to rob them.The victim who holds a concealed carry permit took out his gun and shot at Arkeem in self-defense, one of the bullets struck Arkeem but he was able to get away in his car with another person driving. According to Detective Goeckel The victim informed 911 about the incident, and they later found Bennett dead. "Once the suspect's vehicle was located and crashed several blocks from the location of the scene our officer's set up a perimeter to contain anyone that may have fled and he actually happened to see Mr. Bennett laying on the ground. women were detained after the ashes of a woman who died in police
custody were flung at Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie

said.The two women were booked on suspicion of battery on a police officer after the incident occurred around 10:15 a.m., in the middle of the commissioners' meeting, though only one was involved in throwing the substance, LAPD said in a news release. FREEHOLD, New Jersey (WABC) -- A New Jersey man is facing charges
after authorities say he assaulted another man and then drove over
him with his vehicle in what is being investigated as a
hate crime.Jamil Hubbard, 25, of Sayreville, is charged with first-degree attempted murder, third-degree possession of a weapon (a motor vehicle) for an unlawful purpose and first-degree bias intimidation, in connection with the May 1 early morning attack on 55-year-old Jerry Wolkowitz, of Freehold Township. The brutal assault happened around 7:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the victim's Harding Road residence. Responding officers found the victim lying in the parking lot area with injuries to his head and body. Wolkowitz was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Hubbard approached the victim from behind, hitting him with his fists on his head and face before dragging him into the parking lot. then setting a home on fire.Tyree Jamaul Culberson, 26, was ordered to serve the rest of his life in prison without the chance of parole by Genesee Circuit Judge Geoffrey L. Neithercut on May 15. Jurors found Culberson guilty last month on three counts of first-degree premeditated murder for the shooting death of Tiff Loisell, John G. Naum and Kenneth Curler, Jr. The trio was killed in December 2016 in Flint. "It was a heinous crime and he got a severe sentence as required by law," said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton. aggravated robbery of a disabled veteran in Richland Hills. The
attack happened January 15, just before 6:30 a.m. at the Shell gas
station at 7301 Airport Freeway. The victim, Allan
Huddleston, 69, said he goes there every morning to buy a cup
of coffee and a newspaper. But on that morning, he was robbed and
dragged 20 feet. Huddleston’s leg was broken in the assault. “He got in the truck immediately and tried to drive off,” said Huddleston. “When he tried to drive off, I’ve got the keys. I reach into my truck and I put him in a head lock and I drag him out of my truck.” The fight continued on the ground until the thief, identified as Gary Lynn Smith of Fort Worth, overpowered Huddleston, taking the keys. Huddleston was still trying to stop the carjacker as he drove off. “When he drove off, of course, I went down… almost got run over,” he said.
