Sketch of (black) person of interest in 3 rapes, 2 homicides released - (at least two White female (prostitute) victims) BROCKTON, Mass. — A composite sketch of a person of interest in three violent rapes and two homicides in the Brockton area within the last two years was released Tuesday. Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said the sketch was generated by the use of state-of-the-art DNA phenotyping, along with information compiled during the investigation. The three rapes were reported in October 2013, November 2013 and January 2014, Cruz said. He said that the women were “brutally beaten and brutally assaulted" and later dumped miles from the city. “The man that picked up the three women who were raped, picked them up, he violently beat them, violently assaulted them, He then basically dumped them -- usually battered on the sides of roads -- miles away from Brockton,” Cruz said. Police said DNA collected from sexual assault kits in each rape was traced to the same person. The bodies of two women were found in December 2014 in a wooded area along North Quincy Street in Brockton. One of the women was identified as Ashley Mylett, a 20-year-old who lived in the city. Police believe that the person responsible for the rapes is “directly linked” to Mylett’s death. Mylett's body was found alongside the body of 50-year-old Linda Schufeldt. The placement of the bodies indicates that the person who killed Mylett also killed Schufeldt, Cruz said. “The cases all have a common denominator: The female victims were known to work as prostitutes and the attacker targeted them," Crus said. - (Black-on-white) |

To help others, (white) Newark woman tells of 3-hour beating (by her black boyfriend) Emily Hill will never forget what her ex-boyfriend said while sawing off her hair with a knife still sticky with her blood. “I’m going to make you so ugly that no one ever wants you again.” It was in the middle of a vicious three-hour beating, one Hill didn’t expect to survive. She had already blacked out once when Wayne Carter’s hands wrapped around her neck. Her arm gushed blood where he had stabbed her when she tried to escape from the apartment. And her ruptured eardrums rang as blow after blow from a cable cord, a tote bag strap and his fists left her dizzy and temporarily unconscious. “I’ll never forget his face at that moment and the rage and the anger that I saw in his eyes,” Hill said. “It didn’t feel like that was the same person I had loved for a year and a half. At that point, I felt like a stranger had come into the house and was doing this all to me.” Today, Carter, 26, lives in prison, serving a 25-year sentence for the three hours of torture he inflicted upon Hill, the mother of his child. Delaware courts granted Hill, now 25, a protection from abuse order that will last her lifetime — well past the date Carter will leave his jail cell. - (Black-on-white) |

The charges allege that a trio of suspects entered his house in an attempt to steal drugs and cash and that Grahek was shot when he refused to comply with their demands. Two of five suspects — including the woman who allegedly drove the suspects to and from the scene and the man who allegedly coordinated the robbery — were charged Monday afternoon in State District Court in Duluth. Tara Rai Baker, 22, of Duluth, faces felony charges of aiding and abetting intentional second-degree murder and first-degree aggravated robbery. The lawsuit alleges that Nexion Health Inc. not only hired Benjamin Offei in 2014 shortly after he was fired for two sexual harassment allegations at a Minnesota hospital, but the nursing center also falsely accused the woman of stealing narcotics and fired her in retaliation for reporting the rape. Police: Naked (black) man flees after raping female Iranian migrant neighbor in front of kids HOUSTON -- The 911 phone call that led police to a westside apartment complex came from a 12-year-old girl. Investigators say around 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, the girl told dispatchers that her mother was being raped by a neighbor who had forced his way into their apartment. "He forced the victim to undress in front of her children, and then he raped her," said Sgt. Reginald Porter of the Houston Police Department. "She was able to hand her phone off to one of the kids and told them in Arabic to call the police." Sgt. Porter said the woman is an immigrant from Iran who recently moved into the complex. Police say when they arrived, the suspect ran out of the victim's apartment naked. He was captured hours later under a nearby truck, still with no clothes on. "He was naked when they caught him, and it's crazy because I have daughters," said neighbor Brandon Hatcher. The suspect has been identified as 42-year-old Bryce Scott. He lives with his two children and his own mother in an upstairs unit. The victim and her two children live in a downstairs unit. Investigators say Scott left his ID and clothing in the victim's apartment when he ran out naked, so he was easily identified. |

(Black) Man guilty of stray bullet (that killed White woman) and also suspect in Minneapolis road rage shooting MINNEAPOLIS - A heartbroken Minneapolis family insists they will never be the same after the gunman who shot and killed 28-year-old Jenna Rae Heilman was sentenced to more than 28 years in prison Thursday. Sherman Alexander pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and admitted he opened fire after a fight inside a popular downtown Minneapolis bar spilled outside. But Alexander is also a suspect in another high-profile, still unsolved shooting in the city. “Jenna was not supposed to die,” her aunt, Jill Johnson, said. “She was only 28. There’s no reason for this. It’s stupid. It’s dumb. It’s idiotic.” Alexander admitted in court that what started as a melee inside the bar over a stolen bottle of alcohol spilled outside. He went to his car to get his handgun and fired 10 shots. Jenna Heilman was not his intended target – rather, he was aiming for her date that night. Heilman died from her injuries more than 7 weeks later, after an agonizing fight for survival. - (Black-on-white) |

Officers say the crime began late Monday with a carjacking involving another couple on Bellfort at Kirkwood. The suspects fled in the couple's gray Jeep Commander. A short time later, the suspects crashed into the mom and her husband, who had two young kids in their car. The husband says he decided to follow the suspects to try and get a license plate number. The suspects pulled in front of a Wingstop restaurant and that’s when someone in the Jeep opened fire on the family. The mom, later identified by police as Jessica Lynn Mills, was shot in the back and died at the hospital. There were no other injuries. “She was a mother,” husband Edward Scott said at the scene. “She had two beautiful daughters that were four and four months old. So we need someone to help us catch them. She won’t be around to see them grow old - be able to have their first moments in life. So whatever the public can offer would be great to help out as much as they can.” "It was a pretty horrific sight to see what had actually happened. They barely missed my daughter and they shot my wife." "I mean, she was the love of my life. we were together 10 years. I've known her since middle school. She was everything, she meant the world to me. She was my best friend, she was my soul mate, she was the mother of my children, she was everything that I could hope for in life. There will never be another one of her. Without her I feel kind of lost," Scott said. As of Tuesday morning the search continues for the suspects. Police describe them as two young black males ages 16 to 20 in a gray Jeep Commander plates CN5X057. Relatives have identified the victim as 49-year-old Mary Wood. She is in the hospital in stable condition. Her husband said she fought for her life. Wood was working an overnight shift around 3 a.m. Friday at a gas station when a man attacked her. Police arrested David Reeves, 31, at his Metairie home Friday afternoon after a standoff with SWAT. Wood said his wife was hit in the head with a hammer and violently stabbed over and over again. "The detective said she was a trouper because she was fighting back the whole time and that's my wife -- she's a fighter," Wood said. "They found a broken knife. (white) Girlfriend charged with murder (of black male sex partner) after investigators dismiss self defense claim A Baldwin County woman is charged with murder in a fatal shooting last month at her home. Levia Pace, 41, is accused of killing Kadeem Anderson Simon, 29, of Smyrna, at her apartment on Frank Bone Road on Feb. 25, according to a news release from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Since the killing, Pace was detained on a probation violation, but was charged with murder Friday, Capt. Brad King said. Pace had claimed she was the victim of an assault, the new release stated. Through an “extensive investigation” involving the GBI, authorities determined the evidence did not support Pace’s explanation, nor did her limited statement “show Pace to be in imminent danger at the time and location within the apartment,” the release stated. Pace’s roommate returned home to find Simon dead on the floor with gunshot wounds. King characterized the homicide as domestic. “They have known each other for a number of years and have had an intimate relationship,” King said. The motive for the shooting was not immediately apparent, he said. “That’s the million dollar question,” King said. “We know that happened, we just don’t know why.” |
