(Black) Man guilty of stray bullet (that killed White woman) and also suspect in Minneapolis road rage shooting MINNEAPOLIS - A heartbroken Minneapolis family insists they will never be the same after the gunman who shot and killed 28-year-old Jenna Rae Heilman was sentenced to more than 28 years in prison Thursday. Sherman Alexander pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and admitted he opened fire after a fight inside a popular downtown Minneapolis bar spilled outside. But Alexander is also a suspect in another high-profile, still unsolved shooting in the city. “Jenna was not supposed to die,” her aunt, Jill Johnson, said. “She was only 28. There’s no reason for this. It’s stupid. It’s dumb. It’s idiotic.” Alexander admitted in court that what started as a melee inside the bar over a stolen bottle of alcohol spilled outside. He went to his car to get his handgun and fired 10 shots. Jenna Heilman was not his intended target – rather, he was aiming for her date that night. Heilman died from her injuries more than 7 weeks later, after an agonizing fight for survival. - (Black-on-white) |

So we need someone to help us catch them. She won’t be around to see them grow old - be able to have their first moments in life. So whatever the public can offer would be great to help out as much as they can.” "It was a pretty horrific sight to see what had actually happened. They barely missed my daughter and they shot my wife." "I mean, she was the love of my life. we were together 10 years. I've known her since middle school. (white) Girlfriend charged with murder (of black male sex partner) after investigators dismiss self defense claim A Baldwin County woman is charged with murder in a fatal shooting last month at her home. Levia Pace, 41, is accused of killing Kadeem Anderson Simon, 29, of Smyrna, at her apartment on Frank Bone Road on Feb. 25, according to a news release from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office. Since the killing, Pace was detained on a probation violation, but was charged with murder Friday, Capt. Brad King said. Pace had claimed she was the victim of an assault, the new release stated. Through an “extensive investigation” involving the GBI, authorities determined the evidence did not support Pace’s explanation, nor did her limited statement “show Pace to be in imminent danger at the time and location within the apartment,” the release stated. Pace’s roommate returned home to find Simon dead on the floor with gunshot wounds. King characterized the homicide as domestic. “They have known each other for a number of years and have had an intimate relationship,” King said. The motive for the shooting was not immediately apparent, he said. “That’s the million dollar question,” King said. “We know that happened, we just don’t know why.” |

SOUTH ORANGE, New Jersey - Police in New Jersey are investigating a frightening morning home invasion and assault, and they're hoping a sketch will lead to an arrest. The incident happened on Ward Place around 10:15 a.m. on February 22. Cecilia Cranko was on the third floor of her residence when she heard noises coming from her second floor. When she went downstairs, she discovered a man standing outside her children's room. The kids, ages 12 and 9, were not home at the time. "I was actually working from home upstairs in my bedroom, which is on the third floor," she said. "I heard someone ring the bell, and I didn't pay any attention to it. About a half hour later, I heard someone in the house, and I thought it was my au pair coming to pick up my kids' stuff. So I went down, and that's when I was confronted with someone." Cranko says that the suspect then chased her back to the third floor, where she attempted to lock herself in her room. "He just ran for me," she said. "I tried to get upstairs to my room, to lock the door, but he caught me before that, and he just attacked me. He tried to pull my clothes off, and I screamed and kicked." She said the man punched her repeatedly in the head and about the body, before she had the sense to call out to her phone for help. "I screamed 'Siri, call 911,' and that kind of frightened him," she said. "He got up and ran." Police believe he broke in through a rear sliding door and was preparing to steal items, which were lined up near the doorway. The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-9 to 6-feet tall, unshaven and last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. |
Ruse about lost dog precedes violent armed attack of (White) Vietnam veteran, wife in their KC home - by two worthless black thugs KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Vietnam War veteran and his wife were held at gunpoint during a violent South Kansas City home invasion. The grandparents thought they might die, when two young men got inside their house and demanded money and weapons. Investigators believe the war vet’s military pride might have put a target on his back – when two burglars noticed his Marine Corps hat and an American flag hanging from his porch. The small signs made the crooks believe Mark McCunniff and his wife, Cheryl, had guns in their house they could steal. “This was the scariest time since Vietnam,” Mark said of the violent encounter. Prosecutors said 19-year-old Dominick Sanders and another young man approached the couple's driveway on Winchester Avenue and pretended to be looking for a lost dog. Cheryl said the duo even showed her a photo of a puppy, so she offered to write down their phone number in case she saw it. The strangers used the ruse to get inside the house, where they whipped out guns. “They grabbed me around the neck in a chokehold," Cheryl said. “Threw her down there on the floor,” Mark added. “With a gun pointing at my head,” Cheryl continued. “And then they started yelling, ‘We’ll kill her! We’re going to kill her! We’ll kill you if you don’t tell us where the money and the guns are!'” Mark said. The couple stayed calm and cooperated. “They were using Cheryl as a hostage and they were giving me instructions,” Mark said. Mark kept his cool, even as the intruders dragged Cheryl up the stairs by her neck. “I kept saying I couldn’t breathe,” she said. “I felt helpless. I think, ‘there’s not anything he can do. If I’m going to die, I’m going to die…” Prosecutors said once Sanders and his accomplice got two revolvers and a few hundred bucks, they took off. But soon after, Sanders, who is well known to law enforcement, was arrested on warrants and charged with robbery. The arrest was a relief to Mark and Cheryl, but the targeted crime has left them feeling on edge. - (Black-on-white) |

On Feb. 17 at 3 p.m., Reynolds had just returned from the store when a young man knocked at the door of her Chester County home. “He pushed himself in,” she said. This began a burglary and assault that would last three hours. She says the man started by rummaging for cash, taking just $40 dollars before duct taping her hands, head and mouth. “I said, ‘Would you do this to your mother to bother her like you are doing me?'” “Shhh,” the suspect told the woman. According to Reynolds, the suspect removed her clothing and threw her face first onto the bed. She tried to kick him in the groin. “Maybe I really hurt him. I don’t know and I really don’t care,” said Reynolds. The 88-year-old then says she relied on quick thinking to ward off a sexual assault. “That’s when I told him that I had HIV and my husband died of it, which is a lie. He didn’t bother me that’s when he got out his piece of wire that he had in his pocket with the tape and everything and tied my ankles together,” said Reynolds. - (Black-on-white) |
