Plans to execute (black) serial killer Ronald Gray offer relief to (White) victim's family Ronald Gray will die. A little more than 30 years after the former soldier's first victims were found in Fayetteville, a federal judge earlier this month cleared the way for the Army to execute the convicted murderer and rapist who once terrorized his neighborhood near Bonnie Doone But even without a set date, the news of progress in the case - which lingered in the courts for eight years since President George W. Bush approved Gray's execution in 2008 - offers some relief to the families of Gray's victims. "This is life-changing news," said Honey Rosalie Schlehuber, the younger sister of Tammy Cofer Wilson, one of Gray's victims. "We've been waiting for years," Schlehuber said. She talked with The Fayetteville Observer from near the family home in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Wilson, then 18 years old, was found nude, raped and murdered in a wooded area near the Fairlane Acres Mobile Home Park off Santa Fe Drive on Dec. 12, 1986. The crime was linked to Gray during the investigation of another murder and a series of rapes. Eventually, Gray was convicted in military and civilian courts of raping several women and killing four - Wilson, cab driver Kimberly Ann Ruggles, Army Pvt. Laura Lee Vickery-Clay and Campbell University student Linda Jean Coats. Gray, who lived in Fairlane Acres and served as an Army cook, was convicted and sentenced to death in a Fort Bragg court-martial in 1988. He also pleaded guilty to 22 felonies in civilian courts, including two of the murders and five rapes. For those crimes, a civilian judge sentenced him to eight life sentences. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Richfield woman guilty in death of (White) public works employee MINNEAPOLIS - A Richfield woman has been found guilty of third degree murder and vehicular homicide in the death of a public works employee in January 2016. Marie Jessica Hall, 25, crashed her car into the back of a truck with two Bloomington Public Works employees inside, killing one of them. Tyler Lenort, 38, died. The other man suffered a traumatic brain injury, skull and spinal fractures. Hennepin County District Judge Paul Scoggin ruled that her mental illness issues did not prevent her from knowing her actions were "morally wrong" when she crashed her car. On January 28, 2016 Hall walked into her former place of employment earlier that morning, then walked behind the counter and grabbed two bottles of vodka, throwing money in the air on her way out. She was seen running red lights at a high rate of speed before the fatal crash. Officers interviewed Hall at the hospital where she was being treated for her injuries. They say she was distraught over events in her life, and admitted to driving fast and erratically while going to get some vodka. After taking the vodka from her former employer, Hall allegedly told detectives that she opened a bottle, drank the equivalent of four or five shots of vodka, then sped down American Boulevard at approximately 100 miles per hour. It was then that she ran into the public works truck. She indicated to police officers that she had intended to kill herself. - (Black-on-white) |

Cops: (Colored) Gwinnett boy, 15, accused of murder said he ‘had’ to shoot (white) man Fifteen-year-old Caziah Brown leaned against the defendant’s table in Gwinnett County Magistrate Court on Wednesday afternoon, arms tucked into a large grey sweatshirt as tired eyes peered out from behind dangling braids. The teen alternately yawned, listened intently and peeked at family seated nearby as a homicide detective laid out the details of the murder case against him: counterfeit money, marijuana, a man dying in a daycare parking lot. “He’d planned to rob the victim … and it went bad, and he had to ‘blow him (away),’” detective Patrick Watson said, relaying a conversation Brown allegedly had with a friend. “And he just blew him in the chest.” Police believe that, on Dec. 17, Brown met 21-year-old Curtis Oldham on a residential street off Lilburn’s Killian Hill Road. Oldham, and his accompanying girlfriend, apparently believed he would be selling marijuana to Brown. What exactly happened remains unclear. But Oldham’s girlfriend told authorities that, at some point, 15-year--old Brown stuck his hand inside her car, dropped a counterfeit $100 bill and fired a single gunshot through the window. The girlfriend drove off, stopping at a nearby daycare to bang on the door and ask for help. Someone there called 911, and police arrived to find Oldham bleeding in the passenger seat of his girlfriend’s car. He later died at Eastside Medical Center. - (Black-on-white) |

(White) Murder victim executed by two evil blacks - remembered as kind, giving dad, grandfather, neighbor OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Police continue the search for a killer after a Millard man was gunned down in his own home Friday. Monday we learned from family that 50-year-old Mike Brinkman's wife and son were also home when he was murdered. Family tell us Brinkman's legacy will be the kindness he showed so many. "Words cant' describe how I really, really feel because I guess I'm still in shock that he is gone," said his ex-wife Michelle Brinkman after a prayer vigil Monday night in his memory. After decades of raising their daughter the two remained good friends. "I'm just overwhelmed by how many lives Mike has touched." At WOWT 6 News we've seen his kindness first hand when he'd help someone in need after a number of our 6 On Your Side Investigations. He was a roofing expert for many stories we covered. When somebody was left with a bum deal from someone who worked on their roof Mike would sometimes help them out. He was the owner of Xcel Roofing for 30 years. "Mike always went out of his way. It wasn't just a roof for him. It was somebody he got to know on a personal level," said Jim Harding who bought the business from Mike this past spring. "I intend on giving honor to him and his legacy continuing on with that same program." - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Teens’ alleged armed robbery, carjacking lead police to (White) murder victim’s body Hours after a teen allegedly shot and killed a man outside a Gwinnett County daycare Saturday, police say he and three other teens carjacked and stole money and pizza from a delivery guy. Caziah Brown, 15, of Lilburn, was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of Curtis Oldham, 21, of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County police Sgt. Jake Smith said Monday. Brown also faces aggravated assault, armed robbery and theft charges. Police said Oldham was found dead about 3:40 p.m. Saturday outside of Childtime day care facility in unincorporated Lilburn. Oldham was sitting on the passenger side of a black car at the day care, police said. A woman was sitting in the driver’s seat. "It is likely that the shooting occurred elsewhere and the day care parking lot was convenient as the driver sought help for the victim,” Smith said. Oldham was taken to the hospital where he later died. About seven hours later, Brown was allegedly involved in another incident in Lawrenceville with three other teens aged 15, 16 and 18. Police say the teens ordered a pizza to an abandoned home and stole the pizza, $50 and the delivery driver’s car. According to arrest warrants, one of the teens, 18-year-old Joshua Tarrant pointed a BB gun at the victim. The delivery driver was also allegedly threatened with a taser. “They were pointing the gun at me and the other guy had the Taser and was zapping it,” the delivery driver said. - (Black-on-white) |

State Farm advertisement featuring a mixed race couple getting engaged is viciously attacked A State Farm commercial showing a black man proposing to a white woman has been targeted by racists. The insurance giant tweeted out the seemingly innocuous advertisement on Wednesday, showing the young couple getting engaged. 'Who said yes? Cheers to the newly engaged this holiday season! Be sure to #ProtectTheBling!' a caption with the picture read. It also linked information on its 'personal article policy'. However, just moments after it was posted, bigoted users began replying to the tweets with a bevy of offensive comments. 'Seriously, it's getting ridiculous Trump's America, now. We gotta be FIRM on this,' Brenda Gale tweeted. 'Been a State Farm customer for 20 years. Will be taking business elsewhere next week,' another person said. 'This is f**king disgusting. Why do ad execs think race mixing sells product?' one user wrote. 'What the hell are you doing? This is disgusting and nobody wants to see this,' another added. Others began suggesting the commercial's casting was part of some larger conspiracy by the insurance company. 'Why are interracial relationships uncommon IRL but extremely common in advertisements? Blatant social engineering. That's why,' Reinhard Wolff said. 'Awesome. I now know that I'm not ever supporting a company that promotes genocide like this,' another wrote. |
