State Farm advertisement featuring a mixed race couple getting engaged is viciously attacked A State Farm commercial showing a black man proposing to a white woman has been targeted by racists. The insurance giant tweeted out the seemingly innocuous advertisement on Wednesday, showing the young couple getting engaged. 'Who said yes? Cheers to the newly engaged this holiday season! Be sure to #ProtectTheBling!' a caption with the picture read. It also linked information on its 'personal article policy'. However, just moments after it was posted, bigoted users began replying to the tweets with a bevy of offensive comments. 'Seriously, it's getting ridiculous Trump's America, now. We gotta be FIRM on this,' Brenda Gale tweeted. 'Been a State Farm customer for 20 years. Will be taking business elsewhere next week,' another person said. 'This is f**king disgusting. Why do ad execs think race mixing sells product?' one user wrote. 'What the hell are you doing? This is disgusting and nobody wants to see this,' another added. Others began suggesting the commercial's casting was part of some larger conspiracy by the insurance company. 'Why are interracial relationships uncommon IRL but extremely common in advertisements? Blatant social engineering. That's why,' Reinhard Wolff said. 'Awesome. I now know that I'm not ever supporting a company that promotes genocide like this,' another wrote. |

‘We don’t want them here’: Suit claims eatery used race to seat patrons Bagatelle, the Meatpacking District bistro known for its brunches and beautiful people, had an ugly secret: It assigned special codes to customers with the wrong “look” or skin color, then banished them to cramped tables out of sight, a federal lawsuit claims. Shunned customers would be directed to Table 157 in the back, which staffers called the “Ghetto Station.” There they would often be forced to sit two to a chair, according to the suit’s photo exhibits. “When you see African-Americans walking through the front door, we knew where they would sit,” Barreto, an employee since 2012, told The Post. “They would make them wait and wait and wait.” Still, the French bistro opens its arms to black celebrities, filling gossip pages with items about Serena Williams, Jamie Foxx, Jay Z and Beyoncé dining on its $280 seafood tower or its king-crab ceviche. |

"This is a violent predator who brutally sexually assaulted an elderly woman that needs to be sentenced to a lengthy, lengthy prison sentence," said Sangamon County State's Attorney John Milhiser, who prosecuted the case alongside assistant state's attorney Mary Beth Rodgers. Braud heard tearful testimony in November from the now 73-year-old victim, who described being half asleep on the couch when an intruder jumped on top of her and demanded she perform oral sex on him. The woman testified the intruder hit her multiple times and that she bit him while he forcefully tried to make her perform the sex act. The biting enraged Thomas, and he ripped out her dentures and grabbed her glasses off her face and threw them, the woman said. |

Black Man once convicted for 1982 Wilkes-Barre murder of White man could go free WILKES-BARRE — Notorious Luzerne County murder defendant Tyrone Moore, once sentenced to die for the crime, could be a free man within days, according to prosecutors. After being behind bars for about 34 years, Moore, now 62, has seen his conviction overturned and is now expected to plead guilty Thursday afternoon to third-degree murder — a crime that carries a maximum penalty of 20 to 40 years in prison, Assistant District Attorney Jarrett Ferentino said. A plea agreement calls for Moore to get time served, he said. Moore was initially sentenced to death for fatally shooting Plymouth Township resident Nicholas Romanchick during an October 1982 robbery of the Forty Fort Animal Hospital in Wyoming. Romanchick and his wife were at the animal hospital seeking medical attention for their cat. - (Black-on-white) |
