(Black fag) wants new trial 30 years after torture, homo rape and murder of (White) boy scout WARREN, Ohio - More than thirty years after a 12-year-old boy scout was tortured, raped and murdered in Warren, the story continues making news headlines. The man on Ohio's death row for the crime asked a judge for permission to file for another trial for the kidnapping, rape and murder of Raymond Fife in 1985. The attorney for 48-year-old Danny Lee Hill claims that new evidence has been uncovered that would impact Hill's right to a fair trial. Background – Caution: Some readers may find some details the following court record account disturbing. According to court records, on September 10, 1985, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Raymond Fife left home on his bicycle to visit a friend, Billy Simmons. After learning that the twelve-year-old had not arrived at his friend's home by 5:50 p.m., Fife's family began searching for him. Raymond Fife's father found his son more than four hours later in a wooded field behind the Valu-King supermarket on Palmyra road. The child was naked and appeared to have been severely beaten and his face was burned. Raymond's underwear was found tied around his neck and appeared to have been lit on fire. (Black man) Reynolds guilty of (White) man’s murder at group home Rejecting the claim that Lecorius Reynolds did not know his actions’ wrongfulness, a Lucas County judge found the Toledo man guilty of murder in the 2014 death of a fellow resident of a South Toledo group home. Reynolds, 35, of the 100 block of Dale Street, faces life in prison with parole eligibility after 15 years when he is sentenced Jan. 20 by Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart. Earlier this month, Judge Duhart presided over a bench trial in which Reynolds was charged with alternate counts of murder for stabbing and beating to death Roy Roberts, 51. While Reynolds had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and, as an alternative, contended he was acting in self-defense when he assaulted Mr. Roberts, Judge Duhart rejected both claims. The insanity plea required a finding that Reynolds suffered from a mental disease or defect so severe he did not know that what he was doing was wrong. The self-defense claim required him to show he was in danger of great bodily harm or death when he assaulted Mr. Roberts. “Mr. Reynolds, you cannot escape responsibility for what you know is wrong,” the judge said. About 9 p.m. May 2, 2014, police responded to a report of a nude body struck by a train on Norfolk Southern tracks at Airline Avenue and Gibbons Street, thinking it could have been a suicide. But officers immediately noticed very little blood at the scene, prompting them to surmise that the victim had been killed somewhere else. As it turned out, blood and DNA evidence revealed Reynolds had attacked Mr. Roberts at the Dale Street group home where they both lived, placed his body in a Toledo recycling bin and wheeled it to the tracks a couple blocks away, and dumped it. In a video-recorded police interrogation shown during the trial, Reynolds at first denied any involvement with Mr. Roberts' death, but then said he had beaten Mr. Roberts after the victim made sexual advances toward him. Judge Duhart said he carefully weighed the testimony of two mental health experts who testified at Reynolds’ trial: one said Reynolds lacked a rational motive, and the other who said he had engaged in “goal-oriented behavior.” “That means Mr. Reynolds was acting in such a way at the time of the assault that he was avoiding or attempting to avoid detection of a crime,” the judge said. “This court is going to note a number of things … washing a knife, moving a body, operating in such a way as to conceal blood on a bed, bloody clothes.” Last year, Reynolds was found incompetent to stand trial, but he was later deemed restored to competency after a lengthy hospitalization at Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare in Columbus. - (Black-on-white) |

Life sentence upheld in 2012 double homicide at Wichita Dollar General The Kansas Supreme Court on Friday upheld the capital murder conviction of a Wichita man who shot and killed an employee of a Dollar General Store and a grandfather shopping inside in 2012. Marquis J. Marshall, in his appeal, claimed he didn’t get a fair trial when he was tried for the Nov. 30 slayings of Zachary Hunt and Henry Harvey because Sedgwick County District Court officials didn’t order him to undergo a competency evaluation or look more deeply into his requests for a new lawyer. He also claimed a judge misspoke when he read instructions for deliberations to his jury. But justices, in a unanimous decision, rejected those arguments, saying they found no evidence to support Marshall’s claims. Marshall walked into the Dollar General at 13th and Oliver in Wichita shortly after 8 p.m. the night of the shootings with a 22-caliber gun in hand. He shot Hunt, who was ringing up Harvey’s purchases, three times and then fired three more rounds into Harvey’s back. Harvey had gone to Dollar General to purchase candy for his grandchildren. - (Black-on-white) |

Court rejects former teacher's appeal in sex abuse case - (sex of victims not reported) The Delaware Supreme Court has denied an appeal for a former Smyrna High School math teacher convicted of sexually abusing a student. The top court ruled this week that Donovan J. Garvin's appeal of his guilty plea and 13-year prison sentence is without merit. Garvin was indicted in April 2013 on 45 counts of sexual solicitation of a child, possession of child pornography and sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust. The charges stemmed from Garvin's contact with three children, two whom were under 18 and one whom was under 16, according to the court opinion. A lawsuit filed by one of the students said Garvin had sex with the then-15-year-old sophomore on at least 10 occasions, including in his classroom. |

New details released in homicide investigation - White woman murdered - two black suspects CLYDE, OH - New details have been released in the homicide investigation of Heather Bogle. Police now believe a white SUV, possibly belonging to a Bellevue man, is linked to her death. It is believed to have been used as a getaway vehicle the night Bogle's body was driven to the Sumerton Apartment complex in Clyde. A detective said that a reliable source informed him that a man from Bellevue may own the SUV, and that the vehicle owner has connections to suspects in the case. The sheriff's office has shared a picture of suspect Omar Satchel taking a selfie in a white SUV. Bogle, 28, was found beaten and shot to death in the trunk of her car in April. Back in September, Investigators named Omar Satchel and Keyona Bor as suspects in the case. "A lot of the evidence and other items involving this homicide relate and go back to these two," said Sandusky County Sheriff Kyle Overmyer. Before her death, Bogle had been last seen leaving work at Whirlpool in Clyde around 6:15 a.m. Thursday, April 9. She was then reported missing when she didn't pick up her 5-year-old daughter from school. - (Black-on-white) |
