Stunned son struggles with murder of his (White) mother by a (black) teen Wilson, N.C. — David Franzwa is struggling to understand how his mother, 55-year-old Donna Lynne Davis, ended up unconscious in a Wilson intersection Saturday night. Police charged Albert Henry Jones III, 16, of 1102 Rountree Ave. with her murder, but did not say anything about how she died or what connection she might have had with her killer. Franzwa heard the sirens Saturday night just before 10:00 as they whizzed by his home. He had no idea they were on the way to his mother, who had been attacked as she walked her dog and lay dying in the intersection of Vance Street and Maplewood Drive just blocks away. Police found the dog, Tricksie, sitting beside Davis' unconscious body. "She walks that street every day to walk her little dog, and nobody's ever bothered her until now," Franzwa said. "I don’t understand why a kid would do that to someone." According to police, EMS workers tried to revive Davis, but their attempts were unsuccessful. "My heart sank when I found out it was murder," Franzwa said. "I'd have to say it's the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life, identify my mother's body." - (Black-on-white) |

Report: (White) Father of 4 paralyzed in I-85 rest area shooting (by cowardly dreadlocked black) Investigators want the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a shooting Saturday at a rest stop on southbound Interstate 85 in Cabarrus County. The injured man has been identified as 43-year-old Greg McKee. In a statement, McKee’s wife says that her husband, a father of four, was paralyzed from the waist down. According to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, McKee pulled into a rest area near Dale Earnhardt Boulevard/Exit 60 around 7:45 p.m. with his wife and two children. His family was waiting in their vehicle. As he washed his hands, two men approached. One stood on each side of him, and one of the men showed a gun, according to an investigator at the scene. As McKee ran from the restroom, he was shot in the back. The two men fled on foot. An image of one of the men believed to be responsible was captured in the vending area, the investigator said. In her statement, Terrie McKee writes that Greg was a father of four and that the family’s lives have been changed forever. “In a senseless, random act of violence, my husband’s life, and our entire family’s life, was forever changed,” McKee writes. “We are now forced to deal with the ramifications of my husband being paralyzed from the waist down. While we desperately want these two men brought to justice, it is our fervent prayer that somehow they will come to know the only way to fill the vacuum that is in their empty hearts is by a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. There is no other way. “Greg and I have 4 children, all of whom have special needs ranging from autism to ADHD and diabetes and chronic migraines. Ages are 21 (autism), 18, 17 and 5. Now we must deal with getting our home handicapped accessible and dealing with my husband’s daily living needs. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mother with chronic pain myself.” She ended her statement by saying, “The depth of the pain, heartache and financial burden these two men caused cannot be measured.” The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying the suspect on video and is offering a reward of up to $1,000. Call the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office at 704-920-3000 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at www.cabarruscrimestoppers.com or at 704-932-7463. - (Black-on-white) |

After More Than 7 Years, Convicted Killer to Face Trial in Murder of Aspiring Teacher in Philadelphia The murder trial for a man already serving a life sentence in one murder case will begin Monday. Convicted killer Marcellus Jones is accused of killing Beau Zabel, an aspiring teacher who authorities say was gunned down for his iPod a month after moving to Philadelphia in 2008. Jones apparently wanted Zabel's iPod, police said. The 36-year-old is already in prison, serving time for the murder of another man, Tyreek Taylor. Prosecutors have said they believed Jones murdered the 20-year-old to keep him from talking to police about the man's role in Zabel's death -- allegedly as a getaway driver. Jones is currently serving a life sentence for Taylor's death. Zabel, who was from Minnesota, was studying at Drexel University at the time of his murder and planned to teach in the public school system. He had just gotten off work at the Starbucks at 4th and South Streets when he was robbed and shot. - (Black-on-white) |

Suspect Allegedly Stood Over Pastor's Pregnant Wife and 'Watched Her Bleed' After Shooting Her in the Head: Affidavit A probable cause affidavit obtained by PEOPLE states that 18-year-old Larry Jo Taylor, Jr. – one of the two men charged with killing Amanda Blackburn, the pregnant wife of an Indianapolis pastor – allegedly stood over his victim after he shot her in the head and "watched her bleed." The affidavit further states that Taylor used his gun to strike the 28-year-old mother in the mouth during the Nov. 10 home invasion. In fact, the blow was so powerful, it allegedly knocked one of the teeth from her jaw. Taylor was formally charged with Blackburn's murder on Monday along with an accomplice, 21-year-old Jalen Watson. According to the affidavit, Taylor and Watson entered the Blackburn home through the front door, which was unlocked. Once inside, "Taylor stated [Amanda Blackburn] charged at him and he shot her somewhere in the upper body." Taylor fired his gun because he didn't want Blackburn scratching him, reads the affidavit. In describing the crime, Taylor also allegedly told his accomplices and associates that he "leaned over her body and shot her in the back of the head. He leaned further, looked at her face, and watched her bleed." Blackburn was shot three times, the affidavit claims: in the head, upper back and left arm. Amanda's husband, pastor Davey Blackburn, returned from the gym to find her on the living room floor, face down in a pool of her own blood. Blackburn was found naked, with her underwear bunched up and left at her side, the affidavit reads. - (Black-on-white) |

Inmate death ruled homicide from septic shock after K-9 bite infection ORLANDO, Fla. — A medical examiner has ruled an Orange County inmate's death while incarcerated a homicide. The final report was released Wednesday, more than three months after Max Gracia II was found unresponsive in his cell. The medical examiner said Gracia's cause of death was septic shock, complicated by an infection from a dog bite he suffered before his arrest. Gracia, 22, was arrested in August after robbing a BP gas station at gunpoint. Police said they found Gracia walking after the robbery and attempted to detain him. Officers said Gracia broke free, ran toward a lake and jumped in. Gracia ran out of the water and fought with a police K-9. After fighting with the dog, Gracia entered the water again and refused to comply with the officers' orders to swim to shore, police said. After nearly two hours in the water, two officers were able to take the still-resistant Gracia into custody by wading into the lake and arresting him. |

Catholic Monk accused of abuse had 200 sexual partners, some were child prostitutes ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Father Finian McDonald, who for years worked as a counselor at St. John's University, had sex with at least 200 people and paid child prostitutes for sex while abroad, according to documents released on Tuesday. Attorney Jeff Anderson released the personnel files of five monks and priests who were part of St. John's Abbey in Collegeville. The five, including two who are now deceased, were previously listed by St. John's Abbey as credibly accused of child sexual abuse. Anderson said the redacted version of the posted on his website, show that priests who admitted battles with sexual urges still had access to potential victims. "What the files show us is a culture of permissive access by known offenders," said Anderson, who for decades has represented child sex abuse victims in lawsuits against the Catholic Church and other institutions. McDonald also admitted to the psychologist that he had stolen from church collection plates and paid young male prostitutes for sex while working in Japan. The other files Anderson released Tuesday related to Frances Hoefgen, Bruce Wollmering, Richard Eckroth and Tom Gillespie. |

White Chicago Police Officer accused (by blacktivists) of improperly shooting black teen Officer Jason Van Dyke fired 16 rounds at Laquan McDonald in about 14 seconds and was reloading when another officer told him to hold his fire, prosecutors said. “Despite what you heard in that courtroom, this is not a murder case.” Meanwhile, Van Dyke’s wife, Tiffany, set up a GoFundMe page asking for online donations for her husband’s bond. Although the page did not mention her husband by name, it described him as a 15-year veteran officer "fighting for his freedom and justice." Police said McDonald, who had PCP in his system when he died, was behaving erratically and refusing police commands to drop a 4-inch folding knife. The police union has maintained the officer fired in fear of his life because the teen lunged at him and his partner with the knife. Van Dyke's lawyer also has said the officer feared for his life. - (Black-on-white) |
