Skeletal Remains Found in Fremont Matched to (White Female) Swedish Student Who Vanished in 1982 Authorities say skeletal remains found in the East Bay Hills are those of a Swedish exchange student who disappeared more than 30 years ago. The remains belong to Elisabeth Martinsson, a 21-year-old studying at the College of Marin who vanished on Jan. 17, 1982. The Marin County Sheriff's office got her positive identification from dental records in November, after skeletal remains were first found in Fremont's Morrisson Canyon in 2010. But he said his agency needed more time to investigate, in trying to explain why it took so long to announce the news. Martinsson was working as a nanny and staying with a family in Greenbrae in Marin County when she went shopping for a pair of boots and never returned. Ten days later, a man and a woman were found with her car in Oklahoma. The two – Henry Lee Coleman of Los Angeles and Sabrina Ann Johnson of Seattle – were never charged in the woman's disappearance and eventually the case went cold. Coleman is still considered a person of interest, authorities said. Sheriff's investigators are trying to determine if he is still alive. The cause of death remains undetermined. Her ashes will be sent to her family in Sweden. - (Black-on-white) |

Suspicions of ‘cult activity’ end in sex charges against dark-skinned suspect Thrown together at an Ellensburg-area campground, the family’s campsite seemed all wrong. A Kittitas County sheriff’s deputy, called to the camp following reports of unattended children there, would later describe a feeling that there was “some kind of cult activity” going on at Melford Warren Jr.’s campsite. Deputies found plenty of kids, but no food or shelter. Or parents. Now, though, investigators claim Warren, 43, was nearby when deputies arrived on Sept. 15. Warren was in the woods, detectives say, raping one of his 12 children. The incident proved a near miss for investigators, one of several during the eight-month investigation into Warren and his two lovers, Shannon Felicia Ann Smith, 41, and Amanjot Kaur Jaswal, 28. Warren was arrested – he’d been charged elsewhere with attacking Smith with a sword – but then released, only to disappear. Court papers indicate Warren was sexually involved with both women, and that he has fathered about a dozen children between them. “Shannon and Amanjot admitted to bearing Melford’s children, but refused to describe him as their husband or boyfriend.” |

Houston PD looking for black man who opened fire on random victims Houston police on Thursday released a sketch of a man wanted in two shooting incidents that occurred on April 30. Police said both shootings happened with two miles of each other. The victims, both men, are ages 21 and 51, according to the Houston Police Department. The younger victim told police he was driving southbound on Scott Street near North MacGregor when the suspect pulled up to the light. The victim heard a "pop" and felt his arm go numb. The young man told police he looked to his left and saw the suspect in a black GMC or Chevrolet pickup. The suspect was pointing a scoped rifle at him, police said. The victim pulled over and called 911, and he later made a full recovery. The second shooting happened a few hours later at 2523 Calumet. The victim said he was standing on the side of the road waiting for traffic to pass when a black pickup pulled up, and the man inside pointed a rifle at him. The victim said he jumped and managed to avoid being struck as the suspect fired shots in his direction. The suspect is described only as a black male in his 20s to 30s, about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin to average build. He was wearing eyeglasses in both cases. |

Killer cyclist gives son a lesson in how to break the law The speedy cyclist who killed a pedestrian in Central Park last year gave his young son a lesson in bad biking on Wednesday — running a red light and riding on the sidewalk as his kid sat up at the handlebars. Jason Marshall, 31, was seen by a Post reporter committing the two dangerous traffic infractions in East Harlem around 8 a.m. during the first five blocks of his ride from his East 120th Street building. On Sept. 18, he slammed his $4,000 Jamis Eclipse bicycle into Jill Tarlov, 59, along West Drive. The wife of a CBS executive was left brain-dead from the crash and died three days later. She’d been visiting the city from her home in Connecticut to shop for her daughter’s birthday present. He was never criminally charged. |

2 (worthless black thugs) Arrested In Connection With 1978 Kidnap-Rape-Murder Of (White) Lancaster Woman LANCASTER — Deputies Wednesday announced the arrest of two men in connection with the murder of a Lancaster woman in 1978. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, 20-year-old Leslie Long — a married woman who had three young children — worked alone at a gas station on the corner of Palmdale Boulevard and Division Street in the City of Palmdale. Between 8 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. on Dec. 3, 1978, two African American men entered the gas station with a handgun, and robbed Long of an undisclosed amount of money. Deputies said the suspects then kidnapped Long, forced her into their vehicle at gun point, and drove away heading south on the Antelope Valley Freeway towards Los Angeles. The suspects then pulled off the freeway and drove to a deserted area where they raped Long before shooting her multiple times. After the shooting, both men returned to the vehicle and fled from the scene. Paramedics pronounced Long dead at the scene. According to detectives, the search for her killers remained unsolved for the past 37 years. “At the time of the murder, both suspects were active gang members,” said Det. Steven Lankford. In March 2006, new leads and persons of interest re-opened the case. Officials said Neal Matthews, 58, and Terry Moses, 59, were linked to the horrific crime after DNA technology located their sperm on Long’s body. Matthews was arrested at his home in Lancaster on Thursday, detectives added. He is being held at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, and appeared in court on Tuesday. He remains in custody without bail. Deputies said Moses is currently serving a life sentence on an unrelated case. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office filed an arrest warrant on Moses in connection with Long’s murder. He is expected to be arraigned at a later date. - (Black-on-white) |

Police: Children padlocked in room, (interracial) parents arrested BUFFALO, N.Y. — Police in Buffalo hauled two parents away in handcuffs after police say they learned startling details about treatment of their children Sunday night. The man and woman are accused of locking their children in a room with a padlock in a Pritchard Street home and then leaving the home. Officers responded to the home after a call came in requesting a welfare check of the home. A call for help rang out, police say, because the children were yelling for help from a window in the room. “I know that they were left alone, that they were crying out for help, that police saved them from the house and then later arrested the parents,” Chief Dennis Richards said. Police say all was not well when they got to the house. Two young children, a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old, were locked in an upstairs bedroom. Police say they may have been locked in the room for up to an hour. Now 29-year-old Carlos Fuqua and 34-year-old Melissa Khanthvout are in custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. |

‘Corrupt’ councilman must forfeit pension Federal prosecutors can seize disgraced ex-City Councilman Larry Seabrook’s pension, a federal judge ruled Tuesday. Seabrook, who was sentenced to five years in jail after he was convicted on corruption charges in 2012, had fought the government’s attempt to make him forfeit his pension to make up the $418,252.53 he owes as a result of the conviction. But Manhattan federal court judge P. Kevin Castel ruled that while New York state may protect pensions from seizure, federal law takes precedent in this case. |
