Skeletal Remains Found in Fremont Matched to (White Female) Swedish Student Who Vanished in 1982 Authorities say skeletal remains found in the East Bay Hills are those of a Swedish exchange student who disappeared more than 30 years ago. The remains belong to Elisabeth Martinsson, a 21-year-old studying at the College of Marin who vanished on Jan. 17, 1982. The Marin County Sheriff's office got her positive identification from dental records in November, after skeletal remains were first found in Fremont's Morrisson Canyon in 2010. But he said his agency needed more time to investigate, in trying to explain why it took so long to announce the news. Martinsson was working as a nanny and staying with a family in Greenbrae in Marin County when she went shopping for a pair of boots and never returned. Ten days later, a man and a woman were found with her car in Oklahoma. The two – Henry Lee Coleman of Los Angeles and Sabrina Ann Johnson of Seattle – were never charged in the woman's disappearance and eventually the case went cold. Coleman is still considered a person of interest, authorities said. Sheriff's investigators are trying to determine if he is still alive. The cause of death remains undetermined. Her ashes will be sent to her family in Sweden. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Springfield man gets 72 years for home invasion, sexual assault, attacking police officer Antonio Florence was sentenced to 72 years in prison Thursday, but Springfield police officer Bryan Henson still expects Florence to continue to affect his life everyday. An emotional Henson told Sangamon County Associate Judge Christopher Perrin at Florence's sentencing hearing that he is still dealing with the emotional and psychological damage Florence caused. During the afternoon of Feb. 21, 2014, Henson responded to a routine "dropped" 911 call — meaning no one was on the other end when the call came through. When he arrived, Florence, 38, confronted him at the door. A woman inside on the couch behind Florence yelled to Henson that Florence had raped her and that he had a gun. Henson, an eight-year veteran of the force, was attacked, knocked to the ground and nearly had his weapon taken in a struggle with Florence, which ended with Henson shooting him in the leg. He hasn't been the same since, he said. "Every call I go on, I have the fear of being blindsided," Henson said in his testimony Thursday. "I will never be the same officer as I was that morning." - (Black-on-white) |

Suspicions of ‘cult activity’ end in sex charges against dark-skinned suspect Thrown together at an Ellensburg-area campground, the family’s campsite seemed all wrong. A Kittitas County sheriff’s deputy, called to the camp following reports of unattended children there, would later describe a feeling that there was “some kind of cult activity” going on at Melford Warren Jr.’s campsite. Deputies found plenty of kids, but no food or shelter. Or parents. Now, though, investigators claim Warren, 43, was nearby when deputies arrived on Sept. 15. Warren was in the woods, detectives say, raping one of his 12 children. The incident proved a near miss for investigators, one of several during the eight-month investigation into Warren and his two lovers, Shannon Felicia Ann Smith, 41, and Amanjot Kaur Jaswal, 28. Warren was arrested – he’d been charged elsewhere with attacking Smith with a sword – but then released, only to disappear. Court papers indicate Warren was sexually involved with both women, and that he has fathered about a dozen children between them. “Shannon and Amanjot admitted to bearing Melford’s children, but refused to describe him as their husband or boyfriend.” |

2 (worthless black thugs) Arrested In Connection With 1978 Kidnap-Rape-Murder Of (White) Lancaster Woman LANCASTER — Deputies Wednesday announced the arrest of two men in connection with the murder of a Lancaster woman in 1978. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, 20-year-old Leslie Long — a married woman who had three young children — worked alone at a gas station on the corner of Palmdale Boulevard and Division Street in the City of Palmdale. Between 8 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. on Dec. 3, 1978, two African American men entered the gas station with a handgun, and robbed Long of an undisclosed amount of money. Deputies said the suspects then kidnapped Long, forced her into their vehicle at gun point, and drove away heading south on the Antelope Valley Freeway towards Los Angeles. The suspects then pulled off the freeway and drove to a deserted area where they raped Long before shooting her multiple times. After the shooting, both men returned to the vehicle and fled from the scene. Paramedics pronounced Long dead at the scene. According to detectives, the search for her killers remained unsolved for the past 37 years. “At the time of the murder, both suspects were active gang members,” said Det. Steven Lankford. In March 2006, new leads and persons of interest re-opened the case. Officials said Neal Matthews, 58, and Terry Moses, 59, were linked to the horrific crime after DNA technology located their sperm on Long’s body. Matthews was arrested at his home in Lancaster on Thursday, detectives added. He is being held at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, and appeared in court on Tuesday. He remains in custody without bail. Deputies said Moses is currently serving a life sentence on an unrelated case. The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office filed an arrest warrant on Moses in connection with Long’s murder. He is expected to be arraigned at a later date. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Man sentenced to life in prison for Westfield murders (of White mother and daughter) HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — Christian Haley will spend the rest of his life in prison. A judge sentenced him to a life sentence without the possibility of parole Friday afternoon. In March, Haley pleaded guilty to the 2013 murders of Marylyn Erb 52, and Kelly Erb, 23. The mother and daughter were killed inside their Westfield home. According to a probable cause affidavit, Haley worked for Todd Erb’s landscaping business. Todd was Marylyn’s husband and Kelly’s father. Investigators say Haley became angry when Todd fired him, so he broke into Todd’s home and killed the two women. Shortly after the sentencing, Todd read part of his victim impact statement. He also shared with reporters that he had a sense of relief that the case did not have to go to trial. Since the murders, Todd expressed how he’s been able to cope during one of the darkest moments of his life. “God allowed me the grace to step back, and say there were one of two things I could have chosen to do,” said Todd. “I could of ran as far (and) as hard away from God, or run quickly to him and allow him to embrace me. I chose the latter.” - (Black-on-white) |

(White) Cleveland officer not guilty in killing unarmed pair (of blacks) Yes, Cleveland police Officer Michael Brelo stood on a car and shot the unarmed black occupants 15 times just after officers first riddled it with bullets. But a judge ruled Saturday that, partly because Brelo reasonably believed he was in danger, he's not guilty of a crime. Concluding just one of several police use-of-force cases prompting outrage in Cleveland, a Cuyahoga County judge decided that Brelo was not guilty of voluntary manslaughter and felonious assault in the 2012 deaths of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams following a 22-mile car chase. Emotions among people upset at the verdict ran high outside the Cleveland courtroom. Some held up signs and chanted "no justice, no peace," words heard in recent months in places like Ferguson, Missouri, and New York, where massive demonstrations sprung up after African-Americans died at the hands of white police officers. |
