Slain shelter worker was ‘fighting for more security’ The father of a murdered Bronx shelter manager said his daughter might still be alive if city officials listened to her pleas for added security at the troubled facility. “My daughter was fighting for more security at work,” Ana Charle’s tearful dad, Carlos, 74, told The Post. “Had there been extra security before, perhaps she would still be alive today.” Carlos Charle said his 36-year-old daughter, who was born in Spain, was completely selfless and poured her heart into her work. “She gave her life to others and now, after her death, she got what she was fighting for,” he said, noting that the city had beefed up safety measures at the Project Renewal facility where his daughter Ana worked. West Spruill, a career criminal who lived in Charle’s facility until January and who was infatuated with her, has been charged with her murder. Prosecutors said the lustful Spruill stalked Charle at the Wakefield facility and gunned her down when she fought off his rape attempt. He had been waiting by her car with her licence-plate number and wrist ties, sources have said. Her distraught dad said he takes some comfort in knowing his daughter’s killer will likely be going away where he can no longer harm innocent people. - (Black-on-white) |

(White female) Correction officer sexually assaulted at Rikers (by black serial rapist) speaks out NEW YORK -- A correction officer at Rikers Island was sexually assaulted while escorting an inmate over the weekend, and now, in a bizarre twist, she claims she was reprimanded for her actions during the incident and even threatened with losing her job. "He violated me," officer Samantha Moscoso said. Moscoso has barely started to process her nightmare, but she wanted to speak out about what happened to her behind the locked doors on Rikers Island. It was a sex crime, she says, at the hands of an inmate who she is sworn to protect. "And I screamed and I screamed for him to let go, for him to get off, for him to let go, for him to stop," Moscoso said. Moscoso's job is to work a special segregation unit that houses the most violent inmates. On Sunday morning, she says she was taking 25-year-old Dexter Bell to the shower. His hands were cuffed, and she was behind him. But he managed to pin her up against a railing, reaching back and grabbing her between the legs. "And I had to sit there and get him off me by any means possible," she said. "By putting my hands on him in his head, his neck, his upper torso area, so he could let go." She didn't know Bell is a Level 2 sex offender convicted in the attempted rape of a 17-year-old girl. And she had no idea he's awaiting trial for allegedly raping three other women. - (Black-on-white) |

'If I had a gun, I'd kill him:' Mother whose daughter, 9, was raped and murdered 40 years ago is left devastated after seeing sickening photos of her body
The mother of a girl who was murdered 40 years ago has spoke of the horror of recently seeing crime scene photos of her daughter's body. Virginia Trimble Ritter's daughter, Marcia Trimble, was raped and choked to death by Jerome Sydney Barrett in 1975. Marcia's body was found 33 days after she disappeared and Ritter's then-husband advised her against seeing the body and the crime scene photos. Charlie, who died in 1989, wanted their last memory to be of her running in and out of the house, 'the real Marcia.' But Ritter told The Tennessean, last year it was a decision she now regrets. 'If I had a gun I'd kill him!' Marcia's body was found 150 yards from her home amid the clutter of a rarely used, windowless garage, under a shower curtain and a child's wading pool. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted, and her cookie money was missing. Cookies were scattered around the clothed body. A neck bone was fractured. - (Black-on-white)

Elderly (White) couple robbed of charity collection by pair of blacks SALISBURY, N.C. -- An elderly couple robbed at gunpoint in their home says a good amount of the money that was taken, had been raised for charity. Ralph Brown says he never noticed two men who he thinks, were hiding in his garage Monday night before they rushed in and grabbed him. "He had this gun, holding it high like this pointing it down," Brown said. Then they started yelling at him. "Where's the money where's the money, and I turned around and he grabbed my wrist and I think I just put my hand up," Brown said. Next, Brown says one of the men ran upstairs and took a bowl containing money he and his wife raised from yard sales for Cystic Fibrosis. "$100, $300, something like that," Brown said. The other man took his wallet and phone. The couple was out to dinner earlier in the evening and Brown says he actually saw two men standing out in the street. Now, he thinks those were the two guys who ended up breaking in. "We think we may have been targeted," Brown said. The men ran off and no one was injured. Brown says it's a blessing in disguise because calls for donations for Cystic Fibrosis have been pouring in ever since. Salisbury police describe the suspects as two tall black men and say one of them had a mask on. - (Black-on-white) |

Two blacks arrested for 'execution-style' murder of White father and his son METAIRIE, La. - Jefferson Parish deputies have announced the arrests of two suspects in the execution-style murder of a father and son this week in Metairie. Deputies arrested Dexter Allen and Haraquon Degruy in connection with the deaths Friday. Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said they waited to officially charge them so they could "successfully prosecute this execution-style murder." David Pence, 56, and his son Nick, 25, were found shot to death inside their home in the 3700 block of Clifford Drive early Wednesday, rocking the quiet, Metairie neighborhood. Normand said David Pence's body was found sitting in a chair with gunshot wounds to the neck, chest and leg. Nicholas Pence was on the floor with gunshot wounds to the face and head. Normand said there is evidence to indicate they may have been asleep at the time of the shooting. Deputies were able to arrest Degruy and Allen after spotting a white SUV that matched the denoscription seen on surveillance video from neighbors' homes. The vehicle had been reported stolen. In custody, Degruy admitted to knowing about the murders. She said Allen had told her "I just shot two people." Normand said investigators believe the two were in the area committing vehicle burglaries. He said the suspects already had committed a burglary at the home, so "the obvious question is, why this?" - (Black-on-white) |
