'If I had a gun, I'd kill him:' Mother whose daughter, 9, was raped and murdered 40 years ago is left devastated after seeing sickening photos of her body
The mother of a girl who was murdered 40 years ago has spoke of the horror of recently seeing crime scene photos of her daughter's body. Virginia Trimble Ritter's daughter, Marcia Trimble, was raped and choked to death by Jerome Sydney Barrett in 1975. Marcia's body was found 33 days after she disappeared and Ritter's then-husband advised her against seeing the body and the crime scene photos. Charlie, who died in 1989, wanted their last memory to be of her running in and out of the house, 'the real Marcia.' But Ritter told The Tennessean, last year it was a decision she now regrets. 'If I had a gun I'd kill him!' Marcia's body was found 150 yards from her home amid the clutter of a rarely used, windowless garage, under a shower curtain and a child's wading pool. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted, and her cookie money was missing. Cookies were scattered around the clothed body. A neck bone was fractured. - (Black-on-white)

Elderly (White) couple robbed of charity collection by pair of blacks SALISBURY, N.C. -- An elderly couple robbed at gunpoint in their home says a good amount of the money that was taken, had been raised for charity. Ralph Brown says he never noticed two men who he thinks, were hiding in his garage Monday night before they rushed in and grabbed him. "He had this gun, holding it high like this pointing it down," Brown said. Then they started yelling at him. "Where's the money where's the money, and I turned around and he grabbed my wrist and I think I just put my hand up," Brown said. Next, Brown says one of the men ran upstairs and took a bowl containing money he and his wife raised from yard sales for Cystic Fibrosis. "$100, $300, something like that," Brown said. The other man took his wallet and phone. The couple was out to dinner earlier in the evening and Brown says he actually saw two men standing out in the street. Now, he thinks those were the two guys who ended up breaking in. "We think we may have been targeted," Brown said. The men ran off and no one was injured. Brown says it's a blessing in disguise because calls for donations for Cystic Fibrosis have been pouring in ever since. Salisbury police describe the suspects as two tall black men and say one of them had a mask on. - (Black-on-white) |

(Black) Assemblyman to plead guilty to fraud, quit Albany: report It was a clean hit. Queens Assemblyman William Scarborough — who three years ago accused The Post of a tabloid “hit job” for questioning if he was cheating on his travel vouchers — admitted Tuesday that he is, in fact, a crook and would resign after pleading guilty to felony charges. The once-defiant 20-year lawmaker was suddenly repentant after getting nailed by the feds for collecting $40,000 in undeserved travel reimbursements. “I want to apologize to my family, my colleagues, my staff, my community and those who believed in me, and whom I misled as this issue unfolded,” Scarborough said in a statement. He blamed money troubles — and Albany’s loose system of accountability — for his crossing the line into crime. |

Double homicide complicates another criminal matter involving victim - dead White victim can no longer testify against blacks |
Baton Rouge man, 21, arrested for homosexual rape of a 6-year-old boy he is accused of committing at age 14 In late March, a woman contacted the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office and told them her son was raped nearly seven years ago. The boy was 6 years old when he was raped, the woman told a sheriff’s deputy, and the sexual assault took place when the child was displaced from his home by Hurricane Gustav. The complaint eventually led to the arrest earlier this week of a 21-year-old suspect, setting the stage for an unusual legal case involving an adult accused of committing a crime when he was still a juvenile by legal standards. Prosecutors and juvenile law experts said similar cases are rare. Except for a handful of serious charges with long statutes of limitations — meaning the cases technically can be prosecuted even decades after the offense occurs — most crimes in Louisiana eventually become too old to prosecute after several years. But sex offenses are a special breed. A law passed recently by the state Legislature extended the statute of limitations for most sex offenses to thirty years after the victim turns 18. And there is no limitation for prosecuting aggravated or forcible rape. So when Ceroid V. Wallace Jr. was arrested on Monday, accused of raping the 6-year-old boy in September 2008, it wasn’t too late for law enforcement to bring a case against him. |
