Illegal immigrant from Guatemala in court y on charges he raped a 71 year old woman An arrest warrant was sent out for Alejandro Cuyxum when he was arrested two weeks ago. The warrant goes into graphic detail how an elderly woman was beaten and raped in the bedroom of her own apartment. Cuyxum is in the country illegally from Guatemala, and had only been in the state for eight days before the rape. Just after the attack, the landlord said he rented the apartment to a spanish speaking man who showed him identification. Illegal Immigrant Trespass Charge Dropped
CONCORD, N.H. Aug 4, 2005 — A small-town police force that drew attention for using trespassing charges to arrest illegal immigrants has dropped its case against one man. Hudson Police Chief Richard Gendron said Thursday the case against Margarito Jaramillo-Escobar, 23, was dropped Tuesday "based solely on the evidence in the case." He declined to comment further. The decision came days before a judge was to hear arguments to dismiss the case over what some have praised as a novel legal tactic and other have criticized as an abuse of power. Other similar cases are still scheduled to be heard Friday.
Atlanta Ethiopian Immigrant Ordered Out of U.S. Kelbessa Negewo, aAn Ethiopian immigrant suspected of torturing and murdering dissidents in a military dictatorship in Ethiopia during the 1970s has been ordered deported from the United States, but will remain here while he appeals the decision. Negewo faces life in prison in his former homeland, where in 2002 he was convicted in absentia of human rights violations including torture and 13 killings. Two-week effort nets 582 illegal alien 'Hispanic' gang arrests
Investigators picked up most of the offenders between July 16 and July 28 on immigration violations for being in the United States illegally. Seventy-six face criminal charges, ranging from illegal possession of a firearm to holding fraudulent documents. Investigators targeted members in 27 states of what they considered to be the most violent street gangs, including Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13; Surenos; the 18th Street Gang; Latin Kings; the Mexican Mafia; Border Brothers; Brown Pride and numerous others.
More than half of them have been members of MS-13, a street gang rooted in Central America where members have been known to behead enemies and attack with grenades and machetes. Federal officials estimate between 8,000 and 10,000 MS-13 members live in 31 states.
