All of the subsequent convictions merged with the malice murder counts for the sentencing. “We are compassionate people but to this day have hatred and anger to the people who committed this evil crime,” Shela Bingham, Ison’s mother told the judge. “He is an evil person with no compassion for human life.” She called the slayings a “horrible and senseless tragedy” that has impacted her entire family and contributed to her husband’s death as a “tired, depressed, and disheartened (individual) … who simply did not have the will to live. The doctors may think he died from his medical problems, but I know his broken heart was a contributing factor. Stevens begged for her life after seeing her boyfriend slain over what was a “completely mundane firing in a food industry job. … a minimum wage job.” The slayings were retaliation for Ison firing Nathaniel Willie “Nate” Wilkins, 28, after he overcooked some desserts. The two victims were “executed". Meanwhile, trial for Jones’ co-defendant, Wilkins, was halted before jury selection this week. Wilkins had worked in the kitchen at Ison’s restaurant before Ison fired him. “‘Nate, Nate. No God no, Nate,’” Rothschild told jurors Stevens pleaded with Wilkins as she saw the “love of her life” gunned down before her.” Each was shot in the chin and the back of the head. Ison was pronounced dead at the scene. Ison was shot in the chin up close by an assailant who then likely put his foot in the victim’s back before firing the shot into his head. - (Black-on-white) |

2 (black) men arrested for April 24 homicide (of a White teen) LAS VEGAS Metro Police released the names and mugshots of two men arrested for allegedly shooting and killing of a male on April 24. Homicide detectives have identified 25-year-old Brandon Gisendaner and 26-year-old Kenneth McGee as the suspects. Metro said the men were arrested Thursday in the area of Mountain Vista Street and Vegas Valley Drive. According to police, on April 24 at approximately 3:45 a.m., officers responded to the 4500 block of Carriage Park Drive to investigate reports of a shooting. Officers say that's when they found a white male adult lying next to a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds at an apartment complex located in the 2800 block of Wheelwright Drive near Lamb Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive. Detectives said their investigation brought them to the conclusion that the victim was in a car with three other people when they were approached by three unknown black male adults. After a brief conversation, the men argued. The altercation escalated, and one of the suspects approached the victim and shot him multiple times, police said. All three suspects immediately fled the scene and were nowhere to be found when officers arrived. The victim died at the scene, police said. - (Black-on-white) |

Jury finds (black) man guilty of reckless homicide in Rockford crash that killed (White couple) Dorothy Galloway, Howard Riddle ROCKFORD — Jurors found Dontrell Littleton guilty of two counts of reckless homicide and possession of a stolen vehicle today, but decided he was not under the influence of drugs at the time of a fatal crash on Sept. 29, 2013. The crash killed local sculptor Howard Riddle and his wife Dorothy Galloway. James Galloway, Dorothy’s brother, said he took “very little” solace in the verdict. “He got away with murder,” Galloway said as Judge Fernando Engelsma read the verdict. “I think (the verdict) is wrong,” James Galloway said afterward. “He tested positive for marijuana, which is against the law in Illinois. That’s proven, and they said not guilty. They made a big mistake.” Prosecutors told a jury of six men and six women today that Littleton was high and driving a stolen Hyundai Elantra at dangerously high speeds before he lost control and drove into oncoming traffic where he "torpedoed" Howard Riddle's Chrysler 300. - (Black-on-white) |

Sgt. James Jensen said Andre Redmon of San Francisco was booked following the Wednesday saga where first, a man inside a Redwood Estates home near Los Gatos was shot to death, and then Redmon's passenger died following a crash in Redmon's getaway Prius in Campbell about 12 miles away. Redmon was booked on suspicion of two counts of murder, two counts of false imprisonment, one count of kidnapping for robbery and one count of burglary. He was being held on no bail. Redmon originally dumped his getaway Prius and ran away from the crash on Highway 17 near East Hamilton Avenue in Campbell. He was arrested Wednesday night. Deputies are linking Redmon to the two deaths, with the first reported just before 11 a.m. That's when deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 21400 block of Madrone Drive in Redwood Estates near Los Gatos. (Drunken black African native of Nigeria) pleads guilty in fatal hit-and-run - that murdered one White woman hospitalized another Raleigh, N.C. — A man who killed one Cary teen and injured a second three years ago in a hit-and-run on Hillsborough Street could be out of prison a year from now after pleading guilty Friday. Adetoye Adekanmbi, 36, of Cary, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and two counts of felony hit-and-run. Under his plea agreement, he will serve 40 to 66 months in prison, followed by 18 months on probation. Because Adekanmbi has already spent almost three years in jail, his lawyer said he could be released in another nine to 12 months. Natalie Chidlaw and Meghan Clark, both 18, were crossing Hillsborough Street near Dixie Trail on June 15, 2013, when Adekanmbi hit them. Authorities said the girls were crossing against the light but that Adekanmbi was speeding down the street – accident reconstruction experts estimated the speed of his Volkswagen sedan at 46 to 51 mph – and didn't stop after hitting the teens in the crosswalk. Chidlaw died at the scene, and Clark suffered a broken pelvis, a broken nose and nerve damage and was hospitalized for a month. Police arrested Adekanmbi in Cary about 12 hours after the crash, when his blood-alcohol content measured 0.05. "What right did he have to leave our children on the side of the road like they were nothing?" Clark's father, Bruce Clark, said in court Friday. "Why would he run and not be man enough to stop and answer for his actions?" Adekanmbi apologized to the families in court, but that wasn't enough for Chidlaw's mother. "I am 100 percent against this plea deal. If it were up to me and my family, you’d spend the rest of your days in jail," Jamie Brauer said. The native of Nigeria, who is in the U.S. legally, could face deportation once his sentence has been served. - (Black-on-white) |

A jury found 39-year-old Anthony Campbell guilty in January in the stabbing death of Minot man Shannon Brunelle. U.S. Marshals tracked Campbell down when he fled to Philadelphia shortly after Brunelle’s death. Campbell’s attorney asked the court for leniency, arguing Brunelle’s death was part of a “meth-induced rage.” A judge sentenced Campbell to 45 years, with 15 of that suspended. He will also serve 10 years of supervised probation upon release, and receive credit for 18 months served. - (Black-on-white) |

DNA evidence links (black) man to 1999 rape, attempted murder in KCK KANSAS CITY, KS - A man recently convicted of a rape committed decades ago is headed to prison, but his victim says, in this case, justice should have come years earlier. For the first time in 17 years, a woman, who we will call Juliette, came face-to-race with her attacker. In court, she detailed the medical bills, insurance stresses and costs to the justice system that brought her to this day. She said she wasn’t the only victim due to her attack and looked over at her 21-year-old daughter. But she’s less angry at him than the system she said failed to bring her justice sooner. "What's really the most heartbreaking part of this for me is that I lost my faith in humanity. It just changed my world view," Juliette said. Almost two decades after the attack and she still struggles with fear. To protect her identity, she asked to go by Juliette. "Unless you've been through this I don't know if you can even fathom," she said. When she was 32 years old, Juliette lived in a house on Eaton Street in Kansas City, KS. In August 1999 she woke up to someone massaging her feet. Fifteen years, nine months and 25 days later, Jibri Burnett was convicted of raping and trying to kill her. He stabbed her over and over. He was 21 when he attacked Juliette. He plead guilty to first-degree attempted murder and rape and took a plea deal that means he will spend the next 17 years in jail. He appeared repentant and said that justice was being served. Juliette said she’s happy Burnett is behind bars, but she’s frustrated it took so long. She blames law enforcement. "Kansas City, KS, Police Department received notification that there was a DNA match in 2009 or 2010. They sent that to the KCKPD who did nothing with it," - (Black-on-white) |

Police said he then attacked her when she wouldn’t hand over the cash, punching her in the face. Himmelstein ran off but the victim took a photo as evidence and showed it to police, who found him in the area, authorities said. He faces charges of attempted robbery and fraudulent accosting. The woman was taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital and was treated for an injury to her eye as well as cuts and bruises. - (Canada) - (Black-on-white) |
