Then they made their way to Georgia, I-20, Covington and Marsha Johnson. Johnson, 65, resisted Monday night in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart on Industrial Boulevard. Her assailants ran her over multiple times, killing her, and hit the road again. But after days of intensive media coverage and a region-wide manhunt, the alleged crime binge finally ended Saturday afternoon. WORCESTER — A 34-year-old former Army reservist has been arrested in connection with a weapons theft at a Worcester armory on Saturday. The FBI announced Thursday morning that James Walker Morales was taken into custody Wednesday night by authorities on New York’s Long Island on state and federal warrants. Morales, who also faces a child rape charge from earlier in the year, is charged with unlawful possession of a machine gun and unlawful possession of firearms. Six M-4 rifles and 10 Sig Sauer M11 9mm pistols had been stolen from the Lincoln Stoddard Army Reserve Center. 
MCDONOUGH, Ga. – Police are searching for a man who allegedly followed a woman into her home and attempted to sexually assault her. According to Henry County Police, the man entered a woman’s home on Coral Circle in McDonough as she was unloading groceries on Nov. 9. The suspect fled the house after attempting a sexual assault. PORTLAND, Ore. -- Detectives are releasing a forensic sketch of the suspect involved in an attempted abduction last week in Portland. A man dragged a teenage girl into the bushes late Friday afternoon in Northeast Portland, but the girl was able to escape and return home, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson of Portland police. The incident happened at 4:36 p.m. Investigators said the girl was attacked by an unknown man in the 5200 block of Northeast 92nd Avenue. Police believe the incident happened near the entrance of Sumner Estates Mobile Home Park. The suspect was described as an African-American man in his 30s, about six feet tall, and was wearing a white T-shirt, black pants and a baseball hat.

A Dallas County jury on Thursday issued a guilty verdict in the capital murder trial of Christopher Beachum, who was accused of killing a 68-year-old man he met on Craigslist. Beachum, who turned 30 last weekend, automatically received a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Jurors deliberated for about five and a half hours over two days before agreeing on Beachum’s guilt, according to the Dallas County district attorney’s office. DURHAM Police on Wednesday arrested a 25-year-old man on four indecent-exposure charges and violating a parole he began in late September after being convicted of indecent exposure and taking indecent liberties with a child. Investigators had identified Wayne Antonio Morris of Durham as a suspect in incidents Oct. 27, Nov. 2 and Nov. 5 in which women reported a man exposing himself outside their windows, and they had taken out arrest warrants for him Wednesday morning. Early Wednesday afternoon, a woman reported a man exposing himself outside her window in the 800 block of east Main Street, and police arrested Morris on Commerce Street shortly afterward. 
JACKSON COUNTY -- A Pascagoula man convicted twice on misdemeanor charges accusing him of exposing his genitalia and masturbating in public has been sentenced to five years in prison for exposing himself a third time. Randy M. Richardson, 41, pleaded guilty to felony indecent exposure, admitting he exposed himself at C&C gas station Aug. 22, 2014. The charge was a felony because of Richardson previous convictions. A judge recommended he undergo a psychological and psychiatric assessment so he could receive treatment while in prison. His release date is May 23, 2020. 
A New Jersey man accused of killing seven people in two states over a seven-week span this summer could face the death penalty if convicted in Pennsylvania, prosecutors said. Todd West, 23, is charged in Pennsylvania with homicide and robbery counts in three deaths. Lehigh County prosecutors say he fatally shot a man in Easton and a man and a woman in Allentown on July 5. Authorities said West told them he heard voices in his head and believed the devil was speaking to him. 
STRAWBERRY MANSION -- Police have arrested a funeral director after three decomposed bodies were found in a Strawberry Mansion garage back in August. Janet Powell-Dailey, 72, of Powell Funeral Home is facing multiple charges including abuse of a corpse and theft. Investigators say the three bodies were left in the hot, dingy garage for an extended period of time after being dropped off by a nursing home to the funeral home around the corner. A coffin and two cardboard body boxes were found in that garage on the 2600 block of Hagert Street, police say.

Office says 26-year-old Dominique Washington of Ladson was charged with obstruction of justice. Bond was denied for Washington in connection to the July shooting. According to a report, both people were arrested on charges that stem from separate interviews conducted recently related to the shooting deaths of four Holly Hill residents and the injuring of a fifth. OAKLAND — A suspect in several recent murders is reportedly dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he was involved in a standoff with police at an Oakland motel. The standoff began Thursday afternoon at the Motel 6 in East Oakland. Police say the man who barricaded himself in the motel room is 18-year-old Jason Brown, who they considered armed and dangerous. As police made contact with Brown, multiple gunshots erupted from the suspect’s location inside the motel room. He was later found unresponsive suffering from what was likely a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Brown is among two people suspected of opening fire on two men sitting in a car outside a CVS store in Livermore last month. One man was killed, while the other was hospitalized. The 18-year-old was also wanted for a separate murder in Fresno.
ABILENE, Texas - An Abilene man was indicted on multiple charges of aggravated sexual assault and aggravated assault after allegedly using a gun to force several women to perform sex acts with him. 28-year-old Lavanders Muskin approached two women on Aug. 3 in south Abilene and asked if they wanted to buy weed. When the women refused, Muskin lingered and then pulled a gun out, pointing it at the two women and forcing them to disrobe. One of the women was able to escape and call the police, but the other was forced inside a residence and to perform sex acts with Muskin. The two women identified Muskin during a police lineup.

HOUSTON – Two of the three teens who escaped from the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center Sunday have been captured. Alferis Coby and Deionthay Harper, both 16, were caught by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. "They wasn't doing their job," Harper said when asked how they escaped. He said it was a mistake and he won't do it again. Jahrell West, also 16, is still on the run and he's considered dangerous. Authorities were especially concerned about Coby. They say he has a lack of empathy, is extremely aggressive and is considered to be a high risk for psychopathic behavior. Coby was charged with capital murder for allegedly killing a man at a Midtown nightclub earlier this year. Meanwhile, the guard who was beaten by the 16-year-old ringleader Sunday said he remembers little about the attack – other than the pain. Coby beat

On Monday night, a gunman killed a (black) boyfriend and (white) girlfriend waiting to eat some tacos outside of Pepe’s Tacos on Charleston and Fremont. Now on Wednesday, police say the killer is still out there. 
WORCESTER -- A Leominster woman indicted in the murder of her boyfriend in June was ordered held without bail during her recent arraignment in Superior Court, according court documents. Stephanie L. Cruz, 28, pleaded not guilty to murdering Cedric Taylor, 37, in the third-floor apartment the couple shared at 156 Water St., on June 10. Superior Court Judge James R. Lemire ordered Cruz held without bail and continued the case until Dec. 2. Taylor was killed just hours after being released from jail on a charge of domestic assault and battery that involved Cruz. When Cruz failed to appear to testify in the assault case, Taylor was released from custody on June 10. During Cruz's arraignment, state Trooper Kevin Dwyer testified that Taylor died as a result of 21 stab wounds that included injuries to his "heart, lung, neck, torso and back, among others." Dwyer also testified that Cruz called 911 the morning after the stabbing, June 11, and told dispatchers Taylor was dead. "Cruz indicated that Mr. Taylor had 'lunged' at her and she stabbed him in self-defense," Dwyer said in the affidavit he presented to the court during Cruz's arraignment. 
CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Police have arrested a woman they say beat a man to death inside his home in Cheektowaga. Debra Haynes-Thomas, 47, of Buffalo was taken into custody at a hotel in Monroe County. Police say she needed medical attention and was initially taken to Strong Memorial Hospital but has since been taken to the Cheektowaga Police Department. The Buffalo News reports Haynes-Thomas suffered self-inflicted wounds. Officers were called to a home on Princess Drive around 6 p.m. Saturday to check on the welfare of the resident and they found 56-year-old

CLEVELAND -- A 26-year-old Cleveland Heights man has been sentenced to life without possibility of parole for sexually abusing two children, according to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty. Travis Sylvester was convicted by a jury on Oct. 30 on one count of rape, three counts of gross sexual Imposition and two counts of kidnapping. The jury's verdict also specified that the victims were both under 10 years of age at the time of the attacks and that the kidnappings were sexually motivated. On Monday, after making an additional finding that the defendant is a Sexually Violent Predator, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Cassandra Collier-Williams sentenced Sylvester to spend the rest of his life in prison with no chance for parole. An accomplished MTSU student recently elected to the highest governing panel of his fraternity has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated rape, impersonating a police officer and other felony charges, Metro police said Tuesday. Clinton Knox III, a senior accounting major from Memphis faces one count of rape, one count of aggravated rape, one count of aggravated robbery and two counts of impersonating a police officer in connection to the crimes that took place April 22-23. 
Authorities say they have captured a wanted convicted sex offender in Oakland. The U.S. Marshal's and the Regional Sex Offender Unit previously thought 34-year-old Antoine Mouton may have been in the Reno area. Mouton was convicted of sex trafficking of a child – and had a warrant out for his arrest. No other information was immediately available.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- A man is wanted for exposing himself to a person in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County police said. According to police, the suspect was seen outside the victim's first-floor apartment on October 9 at around 4:10 p.m. The victim told police the suspect asked them for their phone number, made sexual gestures and exposed himself. The victim was able to take a picture of the suspect before they fled the area, police said. The suspect is described as a 5-foot 10-inch tall black male in his late 20's weighing approximately 170 pounds with black hair and facial hair. When the photo was taken, the suspect was wearing a navy blue jacket with the words "Woodstock Student" written in yellow letters on the upper left side of the jacket. Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact police at 240-773-5770. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest. 
GLOUCESTER Twp, NJ – Gloucester Township Police say they were alerted by a local resident of a threatening post from a man in Texas claiming he was going to “shoot up a mosque.” Authorities in Fort Bend, Texas say they received notice from Gloucester Township Police concerning terroristic threats made on social media. Authorities identified the alleged sender as Clayton Alexander Cansler, 26, of New Territory, Fort Bend County. Officials noted the suspect’s home is in close proximity to a mosque and quickly responded.
HOUSTON - A man was shot and killed at a northwest Harris County apartment complex after sheriff's officials said he lunged at a deputy while holding a butcher knife. The father of the man who was killed identified his son as Jeray Chatham, 30. Ray Chatham said his son, a former defense lineman for Oklahoma State University, was a "gentle giant" who "didn't deserve this." Sgt. C. Collier said the deputy fired a Taser at Chatham but it "was ineffective." Chatham jumped into the patio area of one apartment and stripped down to his underwear. Chatham lunged at him with the knife. Collier said the deputy then shot Chatham twice and he died at the complex.

Srully Stein — who now goes by Abby — recently came out as a woman and said she’s finally living as her true self — something she said was impossible to do growing up in her restrictive household in Brooklyn. Stein’s roots trace back to Rabbi Yisroel ben Eliezer, believed to be the founder of the Hasidic Judaism. Her grandfather, Mordechai, was born in Fălticeni, Romania, and her father was born in Israel. Her ancestors are part of several Hasidic sects, her grandfather’s mother was part of the Twersky family, a “very famous” old dynasty from the Ukraine, she said.
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Receiving a massage from a licensed massage therapist is supposed to be a relaxing experience. But a woman now claims a Henrico massage therapist committed a crime and violated her during a recent massage session. Daeshawn Bullard, 24, was arrested and charged with forcible object sexual penetration after the woman told police what happened to her at Massage Envy in Willow Lawn last month.
FAYETTEVILLE -- Fayetteville police are searching for 22-year-old Diondre Kesean Jones, who they say raped and kidnapped a woman on Monday afternoon. Authorities said the victim met Jones in the parking lot of 24 Hour Discount Tobacco on Reilly Road. The victim willingly went with Jones to a residence in the 1600 block of Shively Court. Once there, investigators said Jones took out a handgun and sexually assaulted the victim. Jones reportedly made the victim get back in the car and told her to drive. While driving, the victim saw some people outside of the Freddy's Food Mart at 1528 Bingham Drive and drove into the parking lot. Police said she jumped from the car and ran inside the business. Authorities said Jones drove away with the victim's vehicle, which was found abandoned a short time later.
