man who authorities previously identified as a person of interest in
the shooting death of a corner store employee in Lancaster was
arrested. Deonte Darrell Johnson, 21, turned himself in. A male juvenile, who is not being identified due to his age, was previously arrested in connection with the fatal Feb. 19 shooting of John Ruh. The 61-year-old U.S. Marines veteran was highly regarded by customers at the convenience store where he worked, and would often offer to pay for items people couldn’t afford, according to sheriff’s officials. Two men had gone into the store intending to rob it but instead wound up shooting Ruh multiple times and left with nothing. - (Black-on-white) |

suspect arrested after standoff with police - He killed a white
female and a black female   CORDELE,
GA (WALB) - The man suspected of shooting two women in Cordele
Saturday, leaving one of them dead, is behind bars. Cordele Police
said James Smith, 39, will be charged with murder and
aggravated assault with other charges pending. Smith was arrested in
Houston County after a shoot-out with police inside a hotel.That happened just before 5 a.m. at the Scottish Inn in Perry. Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Smith opened fire at officers hitting their ballistic shields at least twice. The GBI said officers fired back, and Smith continued firing. "At that point after about 8 or 10 minutes, the subject was able to be talked out of the room," said GBI Special Agent J.T. Ricketson. "He gave up, they took him into custody and got him downstairs, they checked him over, he was not injured in the incident. 11-year-old girl said a man with a knife attacked
her in a mall restroom. Danzell Mitchell, 26, was arrested at
the scene. He faces charges of aggravated assault, attempted
kidnapping and first-degree cruelty to children. He has a criminal
history, according to police. |

in Peel Region have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect
wanted for first-degree murder in the death of a 17-year-old at a Mississauga
hookah lounge last February. Investigators believe Mohamud
Kheyre, 20, is actively evading arrest and may have fled
the country, a police release said Monday. He is described
as male, of Somali descent, 6' 5" with a heavy build.
Police were called to the Habibi Lounge in the Airport Road and
Derry Road East area in the early hours of Sunday, Feb. 6, 2016
after reports of several men fighting in a parking lot, hitting
each other with bottles. It's there that Sharmarke
Farah was found suffering a gunshot wound to
the chest. He was rushed to hospital but died of his injuries.

Temple University Police Officers Guilty in Beating Death of
Philadelphia Woman   Two
former Temple University campus police officers are guilty of tying
up a Philadelphia woman and beating her to death in front of a young
child, a Philadelphia judge ruled Wednesday. The grisly murder of
24-year-old Joyce Quaweay
happened nearly two years ago in Germantown.At the time of her death, Quaweay was dating Aaron Wright, a 49-year-old former Temple campus police officer. He was found guilty of third-degree murder, aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of at the home she shared with him. Marquis Robinson, 43, was also found guilty in Quaweay's death. He was living with Wright and Quaweay. Wright's four children were home at the time of the murder and one of them ultimately led to the men's conviction, according to assistant district attorney Chesley Lightsey. |

Brooklyn WILLIAMSBURG,
Brooklyn (WABC) -- Police in Brooklyn are trying to track down the
man who beat a 58-year-old man with a baseball bat. The brutal
attack happened near River and North 3rd streets around 9:30 a.m.
Tuesday in Williamsburg. Authorities say the suspect was walking
with two small dogs when he approached the victim, identified as
58-year-old Antonio Araujo,
and began striking him with the bat. Araujo tried to run, but the
man gave chase and knocked him to the ground before hitting him
several more times. The suspect was last seen wearing a
black du-rag and walking with two small black dogs.
Authorities believe he has mental issues, recently left an
institution and is off his medication. They say an arrest is
imminent. |

- A DC police officer has been arrested for engaging in sexual acts
with a minor in Prince George's County, according to officials. The
Metropolitan Police Department said Officer Nathan Clinkscale,
who works in the 5th District, was arrested in Prince George’s
County on Monday and charged with third-degree sex offense. Prince
George's County police said they were called to a home on Teakwood
Drive in Upper Marlboro at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday after the
victim's mother said she found Clinkscale, 25, in her daughter's
room. Clinkscale, who lives in Upper Marlboro, met the victim on a
dating website, according to authorities. |

WALTON BEACH, Fla. — A Florida woman has been sentenced to life in
prison for killing her newborn baby. An Okaloosa County judge
sentenced Tonisha Lache Crowell after jurors found her
guilty of first-degree murder. Crowell’s baby daughter was
found dead inside a plastic trash bag in February 2014. The
bag had been in a ditch outside a home Crowell shared with five
others. Prosecutors say Crowell purposely hid the pregnancy because
she was planning to dispose of her child. |

COUNTY, S.C. (WACH)-- A man with a lengthy criminal past has been
charged with incident exposure for the twelfth time, according to
the Kershaw County Sheriff's Department. According to the
department, 36-year-old Tavarus Dallas Rogers is now booked
at the Kershaw County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. On April
1, a woman reported that her co-worker, identified as Rogers, had
exposed himself to her while at work. Rogers has been previously
arrested for indecent exposure (11 arrests). |

ex-girlfriend OWASSO,
Okla. - A woman is recovering after a brutal attack in her Owasso
home Thursday evening.Owasso Police say the woman's ex-boyfriend reportedly broke into her home in the 8200 block of North 126th East Avenue and waited for her to return. When she entered the home, police say she was attacked from behind, strangled, and beaten with pots and pans. Police also say the man tried to force her foot into the running garbage disposal and tried to drown her. Owasso Police identified the suspect as 31-year-old Quinton Dion Williams, who also goes by Quinton Richardson. |

Sexually Assaulted on Residential Berkeley Street; Negro
ARRESTED  BERKELEY
— A Berkeley man has been arrested in connection with the sexual
assault of a high school girl and the attempted sexual assault of a
UC Berkeley student, police said. In a news release Friday, police
said the girl was walking on the 1500 block of Addison Street
between 11 and 11:30 p.m. on April 19 when she was grabbed from
behind by a man who covered her mouth, pressed a gun into her side
and told her not to scream. The suspect then sexually assaulted the
victim in the side yard of a home on Addison. Detectives
identified the suspect as Alphonso Lamont McInnis. McInnis
also was linked to the attempted sexual assault of a Cal student
about 4:30 a.m. on April 28. |

Va. Beach man convicted in (white) teen's murder during drug
deal gets 29 years  VIRGINIA
BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- A Virginia Beach man who was convicted of
killing a 19-year-old during a drug deal in 2016 will spend nearly
three decades behind bars. Commonwealth's Attorney Colin Stolle
announced Monday that 32-year-old Harold Vincent Cole Jr.
was sentenced by a judge to 29 years. A jury found Cole guilty in
January on charges including first-degree murder for the death of
19-year-old Gregory Delong.
Prosecutors said Cole -- who went by the name Taliban at the
time -- fatally shot Delong after he and his co-defendant, Malik
Brown, met the teen for a drug deal. Brown, who was a
juvenile at the time, has since pleaded guilty to first-degree
murder, robbery, use of a firearm and conspiracy charges. He could
face up to 18 years when he is sentenced June 6. - (Black-on-white) |

Woman charged with assault, DWI after hit-and-run   The
woman police say hit another woman with her car while trying to run
over her ex-boyfriend is now accused of driving drunk and leaving
the scene. Officers say 24-year-old Jaide Campbell and her
ex-boyfriend got into a fight near East Main and Beechwood Streets
just after midnight Thursday. Campbell got into her car, drove up
onto the sidewalk, missed her ex-boyfriend and hit the other woman
instead. Campbell drove off, but was arrested a short time later.
Campbell is charged with felony assault, DWI, and leaving the scene
of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. |

N.C. — Police in North Carolina found three
children age 7 and younger drinking vodka while their
mother was away from the home for at least seven hours, officials
said. Tyeisha Coneisha Streater, 26, is charged with
misdemeanor child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a
minor, Gastonia police told news outlets. The oldest child had
defecated outside and simulated a sex act on her brother.

strangers attacked a teenager on Central Park’s Great Lawn, beating

The 14-year-old boy was in the park, near 85th

approached him, police said Wednesday night. The men briefly spoke
with the victim and then suddenly began punching and kicking him

Woman Pleads Guilty in Fire Extinguisher Slaying of Her Husband A
woman has pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in the death of
her husband who authorities say was beaten with a fire extinguisher
inside their New Jersey home. The Burlington County prosecutor's
office says 43-year-old Laciana Tinsley faces a 24-year
prison sentence as part of a plea agreement. Tinsley says she was
acting in self-defense when she hit her 74-year-old
husband, Douglas Tinsley, in their Willingboro home
in January 2017. She says he hit her with a chair and smothered her
with a pillow. Authorities say the woman struck her husband in the
head multiple times with the fire extinguisher. An autopsy
determined he died from blunt head trauma. |

model was found dead in a doctor’s home following a night of
partying, sex, drugs and alcohol.Olya Langille died of an accidental overdose on March 26, an autopsy stated. Fentanyl, cocaine, Xanax and ecstasy were discovered in her system, NBC Miami reported. Langille’s body was discovered at Dr. Naval Parikh’s Fort Lauderdale apartment. Parikh, 41, who works at Broward Health’s emergency room, told investigators he met the woman at Blondies, a sports bar, where they had a few drinks and went back to his place. DNA match led to an arrest Tuesday in a 16-year-old Athens murder
case.Pamela Crisler, a 49-year-old mental health and substance abuse counselor, was found dead Aug. 21, 2002, in her home at College Place Apartments off West Broad Street. The complex is now called University Oaks. Crisler’s death was ruled a homicide, but no progress was made in identifying a suspect until late last year, police said. In November, Athens-Clarke police detectives received new information identifying Abdus Salaam Laroche, 34, of Decatur, as a suspect. Detectives on Tuesday secured a murder warrant for Laroche, who was taken into custody without incident. - (Black-on-white) |

46 years  RICHMOND,
Va. (AP) -- A North Carolina woman who pleaded guilty to shooting a
Virginia state trooper after a high-speed chase in the Richmond area
has been sentenced to 46 years in prison. Local media report
23-year-old Karisa Daniels of Durham was sentenced Tuesday
for the six felony charges she faced in connection with the
September incident, including trying to kill a police officer.
Police said Senior Trooper C.A. Putnam
pulled Daniels over for speeding outside Richmond in September. When
Putnam walked up to Daniels' car, police said she sped away. A chase
ensued, ending after she turned into a cul-de-sac. Police said
Daniels got out of her car and shot the trooper as he approached her

West Wilshire Blvd. Police say Terrance Lavon McDonald,
23, was located at NW Grand and N. Penn. Around 11:20 a.m. the
officer on scene reported to dispatch that he had deployed his taser
due to McDonald failing to comply with commands. When additional
officers arrived, McDonald reportedly forcefully pulled away from
authorities as they attempted to place him in custody. According to
court documents, authorities used a taser on McDonald for a second

Roman Catholic priest was arrested and charged Tuesday with sexually
abusing at least two boys during his four decades in
the Erie, Pennsylvania, diocese, and making one of them say
confession after the alleged assaults.State Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced the arrest of the 64-year-old Rev. David Poulson, of Oil City, as part of a statewide grand jury investigation. According to court records, Poulson is facing at least eight charges, including indecent assault and child endangerment for incidents dating to 2002. Prosecutors said Poulson resigned from the diocese in February after a phone call was received a month earlier from a military chaplain in Fort Hood, Texas, saying a 23-year-old had disclosed he was abused by Poulson starting when he was 8 years old. The allegations also state Poulson took that victim and another boy at separate times to a secluded hunting camp without electricity or running water, where he would watch horror movies with them on his laptop then assault them. |

A former CIA officer was indicted Tuesday on charges that he planned
to give confidential U.S. government documents to the Chinese
government, according to U.S. Department of Justice.Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 53, of Hong Kong, was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Eastern District of Virginia. He is charged with one count of conspiracy to cater or deliver national defense information to aid a foreign government and two counts of unlawfully retaining documents related to the national defense. Mr. Lee, who is naturalized U.S. citizen, was found to be in possession of two notebooks containing the true names and phone of undercover CIA assets and the addresses of covert facilities, the Justice Department said. A 2012 search of hotels in Hawaii and Virginia where Mr. Lee stayed revealed that he had possessed the notebooks, court records disclosed. During an interview with the FBI, Mr. Lee admitted that he was preparing the notebooks to give to Chinese intelligence officers. Mr. Lee, a CIA case officer since 1994, was allegedly approached in April 2010 by two Chinese intelligence officers who offered to pay him for the information, The indictment alleges that Mr. Lee worked with the intelligence officers until at least 2011. |

American men accused of raping her as mom smoked meth
SALT LAKE CITY — A rural Utah girl described in harrowing detail
Thursday about how
she was raped by three men in the bedroom of a house after an
Easter-egg hunt while her mother was in a nearby garage smoking
methamphetamine. Now 11 years old, the girl testified via video link
at the start of the rape trial of the three men charged in the March
2016 attack. Defense attorneys argue there’s no DNA or other
physical evidence against the men charged with child rape and
sodomy: Larson RonDeau, 38, Randall Flatlip, 28, and Jerry
Flatlip, 31.The case has taken several twists on the way to trial. Charges were initially filed against four men, but one defendant, Josiah RonDeau, was dropped after the child’s mother couldn’t be found to testify at a 2016 evidence hearing. A mistrial was declared last year when not enough jurors could be found because too few people reported for jury duty. |
