[Mudman] Mikal Mahdi, South Carolina inmate convicted in two separate 2004 murders, executed by firing squad
Mahdi was sentenced to death in 2006 after he admitted to killing off-duty Orangeburg Department of Public Safety Capt. James Myers, 56, on his property on July 18, 2004.
Myers had been shot at least eight times and his body was burned when his wife found him in their shed, which was near a gas station where Mahdi attempted to purchase gas with a stolen credit card. He left a vehicle he had carjacked in Columbia at the gas station and was later arrested in Florida while driving Myers' unmarked police truck. Mahdi also admitted to murdering convenience clerk Christopher Boggs three days before he killed Myers. Boggs was shot in the head twice while checking Mahdi's ID, according to The AP. A Florida middle school principal has been placed on leave after he was arrested trying to use a ‘shoplifting hack’ at a Polk County Walmart store.
The reprimand follows Gregory Lewis, principal at Bok Academy North in Polk County, being arrested for allegedly stealing $37.45 worth of goods from a Walmart in White Haven on Saturday afternoon. Family members of both executed death row inmate Jessie Hoffman Jr. and Mary Margaret “Molly” Murphy Elliott, the woman Hoffman was convicted of raping and murdering, issued statements Tuesday night in the wake of his death — Louisiana's first nitrogen gas execution.
Hoffman was put to death at Angola on Tuesday evening in the state's first execution in 15 years. Using a controversial and largely untested method, Hoffman inhaled pure nitrogen gas through a mask until oxygen deprivation caused his heart to stop. Hoffman's death sentence was handed down in 1998, two years after he abducted Elliott, a 28-year-old advertising executive, and shot her to death in rural St. Tammany Parish. [more headlines] s On June 25, 1998, a Louisiana jury convicted Jessie Hoffman of first-degree murder in the death of Mary Elliot. Two days later, the jury found four aggravating circumstances justifying a death sentence: aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, armed robbery, and that the offense was committed in an especially heinous, atrocious or cruel manner in that the victim was subjected to torture, physical abuse, or pitiless infliction of unnecessary pain and suffering. On September 11, 1998, the state trial court (hereinafter, “trial court”) imposed a sentence of death. That Hoffman was responsible for the kidnapping, robbery, rape, and death of Elliot is virtually unchallenged. The evidence at trial showed that on the night of November 27, 1996, Hoffman kidnapped Elliot at gunpoint as she left her parking garage in downtown New Orleans after work. He forced Elliot to drive her car to an ATM machine and withdraw around $200 from her account. As the Louisiana Supreme Court noted: “The ATM video tape shows the terror on Ms. Elliot's face as she withdrew money from her account, and Hoffman can be seen standing next to his victim.” As his girlfriend would later corroborate, she and Hoffman went shopping afterwards and he paid in cash for several items. Additionally, the State presented DNA and serological evidence linking Hoffman to Elliot. Hoffman then forced Elliot to drive to a remote area in St. Tammany Parish. Elliot repeatedly begged Hoffman not to hurt her, and he told her he would not because she was cooperating. Elliot “offered herself” while begging for her safety, and Hoffman proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her, all the while still armed with the handgun. California woman strangled to death while on overnight prison visit with BLACK quadruple murder convict husband
A 62-year-old grandmother was killed while having an overnight "conjugal visit" [sex sleepover] with her convicted murderer husband at a California prison, according to reports.
David Brinson, 54, was found guilty of killing four men in 1993 and was sentenced to life in prison without parole, court records show. In November, Brinson had an unsupervised visit with wife Stephanie Dowells, 62, at Mule Creek State Prison in Northern California, FOX 40 reported. Brinson claimed to prison officials she had passed out, but the Amador County Coroner said this week her death was a homicide and determined she had been strangled. WASHINGTON — A mail carrier accused of stealing nearly $1.7 million from D.C. residents was arrested Wednesday while allegedly attempting to flee the country to the African nation of Zambia, according to charging documents unsealed this week.
In a detention memo filed Friday, federal prosecutors said they quickly sought an arrest warrant this week after learning Hachikosela Muchimba had booked an international flight using a card belonging to someone else. Muchimba was arrested at Dulles International Airport Wednesday morning shortly before he boarded his flight. According to the memo, he was carrying $2,000 in cash and a newly issued Zambian passport. Prosecutors say Muchimba, who has worked as a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier since 2020 but was placed on off-duty status in March, was aware he was under investigation for allegedly stealing checks from postal customers in D.C. More than $400,000 was seized last month from a bank account he controlled as part of a civil forfeiture action and all of his identification documents, including his U.S. passport, were seized during a separate search of his residence in March. On Thursday, two felony counts of mail theft and bank fraud were unsealed against him in D.C. District Court. |

Elijah Wells was arrested Thursday on the Utica Avenue A/C subway platform after he was stopped for farebeating and cops found a revolver in his left inner coat pocket, cops said. (Black) Haitian man charged in NC triple murder flew into US under Biden migrant flights program
A Haitian migrant charged with triple murder in Fayetteville, North Carolina, who allegedly killed several members of his family last week, had come to the U.S. as part of former President Biden’s controversial migrant flights program, according to authorities.
The Fayetteville Police Department said that 26-year-old Mackendy Darbouze has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing 77-year-old Beatrice Desir, as well as a 13-year-old and a 4-year-old. Police responded to a home at about 9 a.m. on Feb. 21 after receiving a report that a stabbing had occurred in a home. When officers arrived, they discovered three individuals suffering from stab wounds inside. Two of the victims were juveniles, and the third victim was an elderly woman, later identified as Desir.
