(Black) killer of estranged adulterous wife's adulterous boyfriend pleads guilty in separate case
BENTONVILLE -- A Rogers man convicted of killing his estranged wife's boyfriend pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of criminal mischief and criminal trespass in connection with an earlier arrest.
Anthony Ballett, 42, was found guilty in September of manslaughter and sentenced to 30 years in prison. Ballett was accused of killing Keundra Allen on Dec. 26, 2019, stabbing him 13 times, according to court documents. He was first arrested in October 2019 for damaging his wife's property. Ballett agreed not to appeal his manslaughter conviction as part of the plea agreement. |
(Black) Wesley Brownlee, Stockton Serial Killer Suspect: 5 Fast Facts 
Wesley Brownlee is the suspect accused in the serial killings of six men in northern California. The victims were shot; a woman was also wounded. Police arrested Brownlee on October 15, 2022; they believe he was hunting for another victim when they caught him. Some of the victims were homeless, according to KCRA-TV, which reported that five of them were Hispanic men. Montgomery police need your help finding a man wanted for questioning in a 2021 homicide.
Police want to find 28-year-old Laderrius Clahoun to question about the death of 33-year-old Ronnie Phifer.
On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at about 9:59PM, police responded to a shooting in the 3000 block of Fairwest Place. Phifer was found shot and taken to a hospital where he died. Police say Calhoun had pawned a piece of jewelry that belonged to Phifer. The jewelry was pawned the day after the murder. |

(Black NEGRESS) Sumter mother arrested for intimidating witness in son’s murder trial 
SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - A Sumter mother is facing charges of witness intimidation in her son’s murder case, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say Tanikka Carnetta Graves is the mother of Armonie Freeman, who was on trial for two murders in connection to a September 2019 shooting incident.
Investigators say on Oct. 7, Graves went on her son’s social media account and pretended to be him, while pretending to be Freeman, she sent a threatening message to a witness. “This action caused great fear and intimidate, influencing that witness to not want to testify for fear of harm,” the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said in a shared statement. SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - A $5000 reward is being offered by the Sumter police department for information locating a sexual assault suspect.
Demetrick Turell Nelson, 36, of Milton Road, is wanted on criminal sexual conduct 1st degree and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Investigators said on Sept. 10, Nelson asked a woman he knew for money. He allegedly threatened to hurt her if she declined. After refusing, the woman was unable to escape. Police said Nelson sexually assaulted her and repeatedly beat the woman. She later received medical treatment and the police were called. |

PROVIDENCE — A jury has convicted a former corrections officer at the Adult Correctional Institutions of having sexual relations with
two female inmates over the course of a year.
Collins Umoh, 44, of Warwick, on Thursday was found guilty of three counts of criminal sexual conduct with an inmate under his direct custodial supervision between 2017 and 2018 after a five day trial before Superior Court Judge Joseph A. Montalbano, according to an announcement by Attorney General Peter F. Neronha’s office. The state was unable to proceed with four additional counts that were subsequently dismissed, said Brian Hodge, spokesman for the office. He declined further comment. (Black) Sexually Violent Predator Approved for Release to Jacumba Hot Springs Home
A judge approved the conditional release Tuesday of a man classified as a sexually violent predator to a home in Jacumba Hot Springs.
William Stafford, 71, will be relocated from Coalinga State Hospital to a dump located at 42457 Old Highway 80, where he is expected to continue treatment under supervision. Stafford is slated to be placed in the Old Highway 80 home by mid-November. He is the fifth sexually violent predator to be released to the desert community. |

NEW YORK -- There are safety concerns on the subway after several stabbings over the last week. The most recent attack happened on Saturday. CBS2's Christina Fan has more on a rise in crime and on the latest victim, who is just a teenager. Police need help identifying six men wearing black-hooded sweatshirts and surgical masks in the attack on the 17-year-old boy. The victim was waiting for the No. 6 train at the East 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue station on Saturday afternoon when a group of men began punching and kicking him in the head and body. One suspect then pulled a knife and stabbed the teen multiple times, police said. |

Auburn police have arrested a man on felony warrants related to robbery and attempted murder.
The Auburn Police Department, along with the U.S. Marshal Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force, arrested 24-year-old Zaquavious Tygvan Gilmore, of Opelika, Tuesday. Police say Gilmore’s arrest stems from shot fired in the 200 block of West Longleaf Drive on August 29. Once officers arrived on the scene, they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was later transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional Medical for treatment. |

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Gary Morton, 43, is accused of killing Marie Covington, a Virginia Beach woman reported missing over the weekend. 10 On Your Side has confirmed Morton was taken into custody early Saturday morning after a state police pursuit.
Morton was also jailed for similar assault and battery charges against one woman in 2012 and another in 2017. Both of those cases were nolle prossed, which essentially means the charges were set aside. That can happen, for example, if a prosecutor decides there isn’t enough evidence or if a witness decides not to testify. In one of Morton’s cases, even though the charges were set aside, the woman later took out an emergency protective order. One of the people charged in the kidnapping of a toddler in Birmingham has been found guilty.
A federal jury found 42-year-old Patrick Stallworth guilty on two federal kidnapping charges related to the disappearance of 3-year-old Kamille “Cupcake” McKinney Friday at the Hugo Black Federal Courthouse in Birmingham. It took the jury roughly an hour to come back with a verdict. McKinney was kidnapped from a birthday party at the Tom Brown Village housing community in October 2019. Her body was found 10 days later in a dumpster in Center Point. Stallworth is one of two people facing charges in connection to her death. His girlfriend, Derrick Irish Brown, is also facing federal kidnapping charges. He and Brown are also facing a state capital murder charge. |

Detectives investigating a rape in Bristol are making a renewed appeal for information exactly one year after the attack.
The suspect is still thought to be at large despite CCTV enquiries, media appeals and proactive patrols following the rape. Between 6am and 7am on October 16, last year, the victim was walking through Bristol’s Broadmead area when he got talking to an unknown man, who went on to attack and rape him in Castle Park. Sharing his account of the ordeal as part of a fresh appeal, the victim, whose identity has been protected, said he’d only moved to the city a few weeks prior. He said: “It’s impossible to put into words the effect this attack had on me and I still struggle to come to terms with what happened to this day. “I never want to see something like this happen to somebody else. Everyone has the right to feel safe. If anyone has any information at all, please come forward.” The suspect is described as black or mixed race, about 5ft 8-10 ins, in his 20s or 30s, and of a slim build. He is said to have spoken in a deep voice. Three men have been arrested as part of enquiries to date. Two remain released under investigation, while the third has been excluded from the probe. Avon and Somerset Police have re-released CCTV footage of a man it wants to identify as part of the investigation. He can be seen wearing a dark jacket, tracksuit bottoms and a white hat. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Andrew Branch said: “This was an appalling crime and we are focussed on trying to identify the perpetrator so we can get the victim the justice he deserves. |

HISPANIC Ex-cop, named Kansas Officer of the Year in 2021, accused of rape and sexual assault 
A decorated police officer from southwestern Kansas has been indicted on charges of rape and sexual assault.
Guillermo Gutierrez, formerly of the Dodge City Police Department, is charged with felony rape, felony aggravated sexual battery and misdemeanor sexual battery.
He was indicted Oct. 4 after Ford County prosecutors presented the case to a grand jury. Prosecutors announced the charges last week, which stem from an alleged incident that occurred on May 19. HISPANIC man accused of kissing, fondling 12-year-old girl at local business 
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - An Anderson Township man is accused of kissing and fondling a 12-year-old girl at a local business. Miguel Rodriguez, 34, faces a gross sexual imposition charge.
Employees at Dave and Buster's called police on Saturday to report inappropriate behavior between a man and a girl.
When police arrived they found the 12-year-old girl playing a game with her little brother. Officers said as soon as she said her age, Rodriguez left the game and tried to walk away. Police detained him. He began to say she had kissed him, according to court papers. Employees said the girl was standing between Rodriguez's legs "in a sexual way" while they kissed. A bartender told police that Rodriguez also put his hand under the girl's shirt. On Tuesday, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said Rodriguez gave police his cousin's name at the time of his arrest. Investigators were able to confirm his true identity. A 44-year-old man accused of being along for the ride in a crime spree that left three people dead in a string of convenience store and fast food robberies across Southern California was ordered to stand trial Monday for four heists.
Jason Lamont Payne is charged with four felony counts of robbery, with sentencing enhancements for a gun used in the commission of the robberies. Co-defendant Malik Donyae Patt is not due in court again until Jan. 20. The two will be tried separately. New details of the deadly holdups, which included a string of July 11 robberies at 7-Eleven stores, emerged in Payne’s preliminary hearing. |

Two suspects have been charged in the August slaying of a beloved Birmingham husband, father and jeweler, and are in custody in California.
Joshua Jermaine Burns, 20, and Jayveon Khiry Fleming, 18, are charged with capital murder in the August shooting death of 29-year-old Cedric Mahaffey, Birmingham police announced Friday. Both are from Birmingham. Mahaffey, known for his grill business – Golds by Ced – was found murdered Aug. 20 in a vacant southwest Birmingham house. Mahaffey’s vehicle was missing when his body was discovered. Police said the suspects stole Mahaffey’s sedan and drove it to Sunnyvale, California. They were taken into custody there by the Santa Clara Police Department after they reportedly tried to commit a robbery in California. |
Four BLACK suspects wanted after shooting in Sumter County
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Two teens have been arrested and four other people are wanted by deputies after a shooting in Sumter County.
According to Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, two people were lured to a home by three women offering prostitution and drugs. Officials say shortly after the victims arrived, three armed men showed up and robbed them at gunpoint. One of the victims would not cooperate and deputies say that’s when shots were fired. One of the victims was struck multiple times in the face, abdomen, and leg and is currently in critical but stable condition. Sheriff Dennis stated, “Of all six suspects in this violent crime, the oldest is 22 years of age. Three are juveniles, just children, all participating in baiting and robbing the victims. When they couldn’t get everything they wanted, they tried to kill them.” |

ROME, Ga. — Police arrested a man for allegedly breaking a three-month-old infant’s neck and smothering the infant’s twin sisters with a pillow, according to the Rome Police Department.
The report from the police said it happened on October 3. Officers said Robert Terrell Dubose Jr. caused “cruel or excessive physical or mental pain” to 3-month-old twins. He broke the neck of one 3-month-old infant and then put pillows over the sisters “while they were crying,” the department claims. Rome Police Department arrested the man on three felony charges: two counts of child cruelty and one count of aggravated assault. The report did not say how the twins were doing. Police did not clarify the man and the infants’ relationship. |

A woman in Minnesota says that she was assaulted because she wore an American flag shirt.
On Oct. 2, officers from the Mankato Department of Public Safety were called to an apartment after receiving a 911 call involving a woman who was screaming. According to a police report, when officers arrived at the apartment complex, they found that the woman was "soaking wet" and was "bleeding from the nose," with a swollen face. Police officers also saw that broken plastic was on the kitchen floor in addition to "several cell phones that had cracks on the screen." The woman told police officers that Paul Peter Jal attacked her after he got "upset" that she was wearing an American flag shirt. Jal was previously charged with fleeing a police officer in 2021. The woman also said that, at one point, Jal attacked her with a towel rack that was ripped off the wall, threatening to kill her, officials said. Police said when the woman called 911, Jal "took the phone and broke it. |

The teenager charged in the broad-daylight murder of a Brooklyn school worker this week allegedly admitted to firing three shots at the victim, prosecutors said at his arraignment Thursday.
Javier Oates, 19, was ordered held without bail on murder charges in the Tuesday shooting death of 19-year-old paraprofessional Ethan Holder outside of PS 203 in Flatlands, where the victim was working as a substitute. Oates was spotted on surveillance footage firing off three rounds at Holder at the intersection of Avenue M and Utica Avenue at about 2:50 p.m., prosecutors alleged in Brooklyn Criminal Court. The victim was struck in the head and back, and pronounced dead on Wednesday. Jabari Woodson — who has two open domestic violence cases and is wanted in connection with two other incidents in Brooklyn — showed up at the Bay Parkway N train station around 10 p.m. Tuesday and began punching his 24-year-old ex in the face, cops and sources alleged. Woodson, 30, then allegedly banged the woman’s head on the floor and wall, dumped the contents of her purse onto the tracks and pushed her onto the roadbed, police said. OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - A California man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in prison for transporting drugs through Nebraska.
United States District Court Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced 42-year-old Esteban Dejesus Huerta Rocha, resident of San Francisco, to a term of 135 months following his conviction for possession of 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, as well as cocaine and marijuana, with the intent to distribute. After he completes his prison sentence, Rocha will also serve five years on supervised release. On Nov. 4, 2021, Rocha, along with (two other HISPANICS) Jose Alfredo Ek-Poot and Ricardo Jiminez-Noveno, were traveling east on Interstate 80 near Grand Island when they were stopped by a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol for driving 87 mph in a 75-mph zone. Rocha was the driver, Jiminez-Noveno was the front seat passenger, and Ek-Poot was seated in the back. When the trooper approached the car, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the car and he saw a bag of marijuana inside the car. When troopers searched the car, a mason jar containing marijuana was located in the front-passenger-door compartment. A backpack containing a methamphetamine pipe was discovered on the front passenger floorboard. Rocha was searched and he had a small bag of cocaine in his pocket. The US Supreme Court won’t take up the case of a Texas death row inmate convicted of murdering his family who claimed he didn’t receive a fair trial because of jurors opposed to interracial marriage.
Andre Thomas — who removed his eyes and ate one while in prison — claimed he went before a biased jury in his 2005 trial, where he was sentenced to death for killing his estranged wife and two children in a crime he said God told him to commit. Thomas is black and his wife was white. The inmate claimed the all-white jury convicted him because they didn’t approve of interracial marriage. At least three expressed the racist belief, with one allegedly noting on a questionnaire, “I think we should stay with our Blood Line.” The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 to toss out Thomas’ case. The court’s three liberal judges chose to dissent, arguing Thomas’s conviction and death sentence should be overturned because his attorneys did not try to prevent the three jurors from serving. “No jury deciding whether to recommend a death sentence should be tainted by potential racial biases that could infect its deliberations or decision, particularly where the case involved an interracial crime,” Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote. Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson joined Sotomayor’s opinion. Texas officials had asked the Supreme Court not to entertain Thomas’ appeal, claiming his attorneys questioned the jurors “extensively” about racial prejudices prior to trial and decided the jurors could provide an impartial decision. Lower courts had previously rejected appeals by Thomas that claimed he is too mentally ill to be executed. The convicted murderer suffers from schizophrenia and active psychosis, his lawyer Maurie Levin said in a statement, the Texas Tribune reported. “To pursue his execution would be nothing but an ugly spectacle and would not make Texans safer,” Levin said, arguing Thomas should spend life in jail. Thomas admitted to killing Laura Christine Boren, 20, their son, Andre Lee, 4, and Boren’s toddler daughter, Leyha Marie Hughes, claiming God told him to commit the deed. He stabbed them to death and tried to rip their hearts from their chests so he could “set them free from evil.” He stabbed himself in the chest in what his attorney said was a suicide attempt. While in jail five days later, he gouged out one of his eyes. Four years later, he plucked out the other eye and told a prison guard he ate it. A Rhode Island man who kidnapped and killed a young Massachusetts mother who was out with friends celebrating her birthday in 2019 is set to be sentenced in federal court Tuesday.
Louis Coleman III, 36, of Providence, was convicted earlier this year of kidnapping resulting in the death of 23-year-old Jassy Correia, of Dorchester. Prosecutors opted not to pursue the death penalty for Coleman, so he is expected to receive a sentence of life in prison. Correia was last seen leaving Venu nightclub on Warrenton Street in Boston, where she was celebrating her 23rd birthday with three friends, in the early morning hours of Feb. 24, 2019. Boston police said Correia was seen on surveillance video with Coleman shortly after leaving the nightclub. Coleman lured Correia into his car by promising her a ride home, then sexually assaulted her and strangled her, Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Richardson said. Coleman was later captured on surveillance video dragging her body into his Providence apartment and then researched how to dispose of the body, prosecutors said. |

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- A man using drugs who hadn't slept in days shot and killed five people in a South Carolina home where people gathered to get high, a sheriff said Tuesday.
greem James Douglas Drayton, 24, was arrested on Monday in Burke County, Georgia, after crashing during a police chase, said Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright at a news conference. Drayton was driving a car taken from the home where the shooting took place in the city of Inman, the sheriff said. Burke County deputies said they chased Drayton after he tried to rob a convenience store at gunpoint and kidnap an employee. It’s about 145 miles (233 kilometers) between the house in Inman and the gas station. Wright said Drayton confessed to the killings, telling police that he was high on methamphetamine, hadn't slept for four days and handed over the gun he said he used to kill everyone in the home where he was also staying. Four of the victims have been identified. They are Thomas Ellis Anderson, 37; Adam Daniel Morley, 32; Mark Allen Hewitt, 59; and Roman Christean Megael Rocha, 19 , according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office. ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) - Sheriff Leroy Ravenell has announced two male suspects were arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with two separate shootings near Vance. The sheriff believes the shootings were retaliatory.
“These two think it’s fine and nothing wrong to do the cowardly act of shooting into a house full of people hoping you hit the right one,” he said. “In one of these houses was an 84-year-old grandmother.” According to OCSO (Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office), on Sept. 27, several shots were fired into a Branchdale Highway residence, and then the following afternoon a residence a few blocks away was shot multiple times. Ravenell said 25-year-old Traquan Shivers was charged with four counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a dwelling, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime related to a Sept. 27 incident. And for the retaliatory shooting on Sept. 28, Damien Elmore, 40, of Vance, was charged with eight counts of attempted murder. Shivers was found hiding in a closet at an acquaintance’s residence, during the arrest several rifles, ammunition, and body armor were found. |

A South Carolina man is in custody after allegedly fatally shooting three of his family members, including an Atlantic Beach councilman, according to the Horry County Police Department.
Matthew Allen Dewitt, 25, was arrested in connection with the killings Monday afternoon.
Police responded to a home in Horry County on the eastern coast of South Carolina Sunday afternoon to investigate a death they determined to be a homicide. The victim was identified by the Horry County Coroner's Office as 52-year-old Natasha Stevens, police said. On Sunday, Oct. 9 at around 7:05 p.m. the Richland County Sheriff’s Department were called to the 400 block of Greensprings Drive in Columbia on a welfare check. They found two people dead with gunshot wounds. They have been identified as Gloria Dewitt and James Dewitt, II, both 52 of Columbia. |

During a struggle between the two, Turner reached for Delacruz’s Taser and used it on him, police said. Two days later, the Gwinnett County Police Department announced the arrests of Kemare Bryan, 18, and Chandler Richardson, 19, both blacks from Lawrenceville, and apprehended in South Carolina. Nine people were shot over four hours as the weekend drew to a close in Chicago.
The burst of violence occurred between 11 p.m. Sunday and 2:45 a.m. Monday in police districts across the city, including three shot near a downtown feeder ramp to the Kennedy Expressway. In all, 23 people were shot from late Friday until early Monday and two of them died, including a man shot during an argument in the Loop Sunday morning. The man, 38, was arguing with another man, 24, in the 400 block of South Wells Street when the younger man shot the man in the chest, according to police. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead, police said. The attack occurred in the Central Police District, where murders are up 129% from a year ago, according to police data. The weekend’s other homicide occurred early Saturday morning in East Garfield Park in the Harrison Police District, where murders have been down about 24% from last year. The person was found shot to death on the sidewalk in the 300 block of South Springfield Avenue, police said. He had suffered more than 15 gunshot wounds and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. (Black) Man charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of his 64-year-old father and his father’s friend in Tuscaloosa
A second man has died following a Saturday shooting in Tuscaloosa, and his son is now charged with capital murder.
The victims have been identified as Mitchell Lewis, 66, and Kenny Walker, 64.
The shooting happened just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday on the city’s west side. Tuscaloosa police responded to the 3000 block of 20th Street after receiving 911 calls, said Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Marty Sellers. Officers arrived to find both men wounded inside a house. Witnesses described a male suspect – later identified as Devin Martez Quinzy - leaving the scene in a vehicle belonging to his father. Sellers said both victims were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center. Lewis was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Walker died about 7 a.m. Sunday. During the investigation, the 30-year-old Quinzy was identified as the suspect, Sellers said. Contact was made with Quinzy, who lives in Moundville, by phone. He surrendered to police in the parking lot of a business on Highway 69 South. Authorities have not yet released a motive. The victims were friends. Quinzy was initially charged with murder and attempted murder, but the charges were upgraded following the second man’s death. The charge is capital because two people were killed. Quinzy is now being held without bond. |

Around 50 people were in attendance, according to a court complaint obtained by Fox News. At about 3:45 a.m., a fight erupted in the kitchen moments before Coakley allegedly shot Johnson. Seconds later, he got into another altercation with Terrance Young, 30, outside and fired at Young's face. Young collapsed on the ground, and Coakley fled in a vehicle with two other people, prosecutors said. Witnesses identified Coakley from surveillance video. |

Two caretakers at a Texas nursing home are faced charges this week after video surveillance footage allegedly showed them injuring an 87-year-old man in his room. Solidago Health and Rehabilitation caretakers Lisa Cooper, 61, and Keycia Johnson, 57, turned themselves into Texas City police Thursday pending an investigation into the assault. Both women were charged with injuring an elderly person, a second-degree felony. The Texas City nursing home said the women were immediately suspended and have since been fired. "They knew the camera was there," Lizandro Solis, the man's grandson, told the outlet. "It wasn’t hidden. We put a sign on my grandpa’s door that there’s video surveillance in the room." Solis said the video also shows the two women pulling the curtain shut with a closed fist "like she's going to pound on him." The two women and the man were behind the closed curtain for 15 to 20 minutes, according to the grandson. "Just think about it, they did it to him," Solis said. "How many elderly people have they been doing that to?" |

Niktoria Lett, the mother of the 1-year-old, Royalty, said that the baby was left alone with Sneed, who is the baby's father, on Sunday. When Lett got back to the apartment, she saw Royalty's face "all messed up," according to FOX 10. "I get in the apartment and my whole my, my baby face is just messed up," Lett explained. A 57-year-old New Jersey man will spend the rest of his days behind bars after being convicted of brutally killing a 32-year-old woman and then dismembering, decapitating, and burning her body.
Cumberland County Superior Court Judge Cristen P. D’Arrigo on Friday ordered Dennis Parrish to serve life in prison for the brutal July 2022 slaying of Tonya Cook, prosecutors announced. According to a press release from the Cumberland County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, a jury in August found Parrish guilty on six criminal counts, including one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree desecration of human remains, third-degree hindering, fourth-degree obstruction, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence. Parrish would have been eligible for parole after 63 years and nine months on his life sentence, but Judge D’Arrigo also sentenced him to serve 10 years on the desecration charge for lighting Cook’s body on fire. That charge must be served consecutive to the life sentence. D’Arrigo also handed down an additional 10-year sentence on the desecration charge connected to the victim’s dismemberment; that charge will run concurrent with the first. Prosecutors say that Parrish beat Cook to death at his home in Vineland, New Jersey. He then is said to have dismembered and decapitated the body, loaded the pieces in his car, and discarded them in a remote farm field in Cedarville where he set the remains on fire. An autopsy determined that Cook’s manner of death was a homicide and the cause of death was blunt force trauma. According to a report from The Daily Journal, the New Jersey State Police in a probable cause affidavit claimed that Parrish confessed to the murder following his arrest. He allegedly told an officer, “I tortured her,” while being interviewed at an Inspira Health Network Hospital. Investigators were reportedly able to connect Parrish to the crime scene based on physical evidence found at the location of the burned body. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested Thursday, accused of pistol-whipping an elderly woman, knocking her out of her wheelchair and stealing her van.
The home invasion and robbery occurred Thursday night on Gardiner Lane. Police said Jewell Ashby Jr., 37, pistol-whipped the homeowner before her friend showed up. According to police, Ashby then hog-tied that woman and dragged her around the house. He then stole the homeowner's van. Police were able to locate Ashby because they said he stole the women's phones and police pinged his location. A pursuit ended when Ashby crashed the van into a telephone pole. A homeless man was arrested Wednesday in the fatal stabbing of a Brooklyn father aboard an L train last week, police said.

The two men had gotten into an argument on a southbound L train when Charles allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the 43-year-old dad of two in the neck before fleeing, according to the NYPD. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A 16-year-old is charged in a double shooting that left another teen dead and a 14-year-old injured in West Philadelphia. Police arrested Tahjeir Thompson on Wednesday for his involvement in the Sept. 29 murder of 16-year-old Sincere Thomas.

Stephan [loose] Cannon, 26, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of former St. Louis Police Capt. David Dorn after a Missouri jury convicted him in July, according to reports.
Cannon was convicted of shooting and killing Dorn during a night of looting and rioting in June 2020, in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minnesota. Dorn, 77, was responding to a burglary alarm at a friend's pawn shop when he encountered a group of looters. He was struck four times and died from his injuries. Dorn and four officers were struck by bullets — officers were pelted with rocks and fireworks, and 55 businesses were burglarized or damaged across St. Louis during the black anti-white race-war DOMESTIC INSURECTION sponsered by Democrats, Anarchists, Communists and other dark satanic powers. The septuagenarian had served 38 years on the St. Louis police force before working six years as chief in Moline Acres. He had retired from the Moline Acres department in 2014. Deputies learned of the missing girl from a caller who reported that they had not seen one of the children who was in the care of Porter and Gomez-Alvarez for some time. "The caller stated that [Porter and Gomez-Alvarez] had different excuses as to why this child was never with the other children and believed something may have happened to the child," the sheriff’s office said. Investigators determined the child had not been reported missing and subsequently filled a missing persons report. On Monday, authorities said deputies received information that led them to a storage facility in Owensboro, where a locker in Porter’s name was found. Officials did not immediately provide details about what information led authorities to the storage facility. A search of the locker revealed a tote with suspected human remains inside. The remains were sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and identification. The body is believed to belong to 9-year-old Alianna Maya Gomez-Alvarez, WFIE-TV reported. Deputies said that Alianna’s siblings told them that they were mistreated, and that Alianna was locked in a basement for an extended time when she died of convulsions, the report said. Authorities described Porter and Gomez-Alvarez as "transients" who’ve lived in different states and stayed in local hotels for much of 2022. |

Johnson had been scheduled to appear on felony gun and cocaine-dealing charges. The following month, the suspect was investigated in the Poughkeepsie area as a key suspect in a gang-related murder, law enforcement sources told the news outlet. Authorities wanted to arrest Johnson, but the district attorney and others allegedly wanted to wait for DNA and fingerprint evidence to come back, leaving him free to wander the streets for several months, WNBC reported, citing multiple sources. Meanwhile, it was unclear why officials did not act on the warrant issued by the Fulton County sheriff’s office during the investigation, the outlet said. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Police Department is searching for a 16-year-old boy wanted in connection with the shooting outside of Roxborough High School. Investigators have also identified seven other persons of interest.
Police say Dayron Burney-Thorne is wanted on active arrest warrants for murder, multiple counts of attempted murder and other related offenses
Sources say Burney-Thorne is from North Philadelphia. Sources also say DNA analysis of that SUV tied to the shooting shows Burney-Thorne was likely the getaway driver.
He is to be considered armed and dangerous and has an active arrest warrant for murder.

MINNEAPOLIS -- A Chicago man has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering a father in a fit of road rage.
Jay Boughton was killed in the summer of 2021. The youth baseball coach was driving on Highway 169 in Plymouth with his 16-year-old son. His son says Boughton honked and gestured at another driver, then bullets flew into their car, and they crashed. A few months ago, a jury decided Jamal Smith pulled the trigger. He was found guilty of three charges, including murder. (Black) Juvenile charged as an adult tied to deadly shooting of WHITE Polish Man in Colorado
DENVER (KKTV) - A juvenile is now being charged as an adult following a deadly shooting along I-70 in Colorado.
The Denver District Attorney’s Office provided an update on the case with the public on Tuesday. The shooting was carried out on July 31 at about 11 p.m., claiming the life of 31-year-old Kevin Piaskowski. “Denver Police Officers responded to the area of westbound I-70 and N. Quebec Street on reports of a vehicle accident and shooting, in which the suspect fired shots at another vehicle driven by Piaskowski, crashed the vehicle he was driving, and fled on foot,” part of a news release from the Denver District Attorney’s Office reads. The suspect was identified as 17-year-old Jameel James. James is facing charges that include first-degree murder, motor vehicle theft, violating a probation order for having a firearm and one count of possessing a firearm as a juvenile. (Black) Lincoln male arrested for stabbing death of woman at mobile home park
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Police have arrested a Lincoln man in the stabbing death of a 36-year-old woman at a mobile home park.
Charles Alexander, 61, was taken into custody around 10 a.m. Wednesday near 11th and Lincoln Mall. He is facing charges of second-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. Police said a woman was found with stab wounds to her abdomen at Contempo at the Highlands near N 1st and W Fairfield St., around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night. First responders tried to save her but she died at a Lincoln hospital from her injuries. Police said Alexander and the victim knew each other, but they are still trying to determine the nature of their relationship. Police are still investigating to figure out what spurred the violence. The name of the victim has not been released. |
(Black) Colorado Springs man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl; police say there could be more seduced, raped and defiled victims
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A 47-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly sexually assaulting a young teen.
Police say the 13-year-old victim was walking in the 3100 block of East Fountain last month when a man pulled up in his car. He gave the victim a ride to a nearby apartment complex at Circle Drive and Winnipeg, where he allegedly then assaulted the child. Detectives identified the suspect as Wilbert Porter and arrested him Sept. 30, nearly two and a half weeks after the crime. Porter is currently being held in the El Paso County jail on a $100,000 bond. He faces charges of child sex assault, enticement of a child, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. KKTV 11 News reporter Melissa Henry talked with Porter’s parents Monday, who say their son claims he did not have sex with a minor. “He actually asked her, ‘how old are you?’ She said 15, I believe. And he said, ‘well you’ve got to go,” said Ron Harris, when recalling a conversation he had with his son. “He said he did not have sex with her. I said ‘did you penetrate her or touch her in any way?’ He said ‘no, she was kissing on me and I kissed her back’ and that was it,” he added. Police say, even if the suspect felt the interaction was coonsensual between him and the victim, that doesn’t matter in terms of the law regarding minors. |
(Black) Austin man arrested after attempted food truck robbery, stabbing 
AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin man was arrested after police say he allegedly stabbed a woman who worked at a food truck during an attempted robbery.
According to court documents, the owner of Anojito Chovita food truck called police around 9 p.m. Monday after that incident. The owner and woman who had been stabbed both followed the suspect while talking to dispatchers. That suspect was arrested and later identified as Bruce Allen, 60. The victim said she was closing the food truck on North Lamar Boulevard near U.S. Highway 183 when Allen approached her with a knife. She ran inside the truck, and Allen followed, where he threatened her with his knife and demanded money, according to documents. The victim feared Allen would stab her in the neck, she told police, so she raised her arm to protect herself. Allen then stabbed her in her bicep, court documents stated. |

MEXICAN SURNAMED Tampa man accused of breaking into Hurricane Ian relief trucks, stealing tools
A 35-year-old Tampa man was arrested after police say he broke into two disaster relief vehicles and stole power tools early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to a hurricane relief staging area at 701 E. Bird St. around 4:30 a.m. after security workers reported catching a man trying to break into vehicles and detained him, according to the Tampa Police Department. Investigators determined the man, identified as Bryan Antonio Cirino Ortiz, had stolen power tools from a Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck and a bucket truck, police said in a news release Tuesday afternoon. The tools were recovered. Ortiz was arrested and booked into a Hillsborough County jail, where he is being held on a bail of $4,000, jail records show. Chelbe Willams Moraes, a resident of Brazil, is also accused of smuggling migrants illegally into the United States from Brazil in exchange for $18,000 to $22,000 in fees. (Black) Alabama probation officer accused of coercing multiple people into sexual conduct
A state probation officer arrested in August after authorities say he engaged in sexual conduct with a person who is on parole or probation is facing new charges involving four more victims.
Jeremy Damon Hall, 31, has now been accused by multiple people of coercing or convincing them to engage in sexual conduct with him, the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit announced Monday. The investigation was launched a couple of months ago at the request of the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Parole. Hall was probation officer assigned to the Tuscaloosa field office but has since been fired. The agency’s Special Investigations Unit (Internal Affairs) worked with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit on the probe. Hall was previously charged with one count of custodial sexual misconduct. After his arrest on Aug. 12, the investigation continued. |

Prosecutors to seek death penalty for (Black) Tampa man charged with teen girl’s slaying
 
TAMPA — Hillsborough prosecutors will seek the death penalty for a Tampa man they’ve accused of killing a 14-year-old girl.
The Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office on Friday filed a notice of intent to pursue the ultimate punishment for Ronny Tremel Walker, who is charged with first-degree murder with a firearm in the fatal shooting of Nilexia Alexander. In the filing, prosecutors argue that three aggravating factors justify the death penalty if Walker is convicted: the crime was “especially heinous, atrocious or cruel”; the offense was carried out in “a cold, calculated manner”; and it was committed by a defendant previously convicted of “a capital felony or a felony involving the use or threat of violence to a person.” Nilexia’s adopted mother, Ashley Alexander, said Monday that prosecutors asked her a few weeks ago what penalty she would like to see. “I did tell them I was pushing death,” she told the Tampa Bay Times. Walker was found guilty of manslaughter in 2010 and sentenced to life in prison for shooting Elaine Lanier Caldwell in her head during a home invasion robbery. But there were problems with his trial, and an appeal sent the case back to court. Lawyers then struck a deal: a guilty plea in exchange for eight years. He got out in 2016. A subsequent probation violation sent him back for four more years. (Black) Man arrested after abusing 10-year-old for spending book fair money on snacks, police say 
SAN ANTONIO – A man is behind bars for abusing his 10-year-old child after she spent money he gave her for a school book fair on snacks, according to San Antonio police.
Agyei Kobins Gore, 31, is charged with injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury following the incident on Sept. 20, according to an arrest affidavit. Gore’s daughter cried out to school staff in the nurse’s office two days after the incident, saying she was scared. Police said she had “extensive bruising to both of her arms, face, and swelling” to her left leg, the affidavit states. The child told police Gore had given her money for her school’s book fair. But instead of spending the money on books, she bought snacks instead. When she went home, her father noticed she had a book issued by the school and not one that she bought herself, according to SAPD. The child then confessed to having spent the money on food. The affidavit states that Gore got “very upset and angry” and called the child’s aunt, telling her it was “Hot Girl Summer.” Moments later, police said Gore and the child’s aunt pinned her down and took turns hitting her repeatedly with a belt. After the child spoke out about the abuse, police said her injuries appeared to come from “blunt force trauma” and that her left leg was “severely swollen,” an affidavit states. |

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department is asking for help identifying a man wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two teenage boys on the East Side.
Police said the unidentified man, seen in the photos above, was captured by surveillance cameras on Sept. 18 at a gas station on East Houston Street.
He pulled up in a black Cadillac — the same vehicle that was seen leaving the scene of the shooting, police said.

(Black) Man charged with murder after fatally shooting another man during robbery, police say
SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of fatally shooting another man during an attempted robbery at his apartment is now behind bars, according to San Antonio police.
Michael Lavelle Randle, 19, is charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Daniel Maleik Murphy, 21, police records show.
His arrest stems from a robbery on Sept. 2 at the Alamo Estates Apartment Homes in the 8000 block of Midcrown. According to an affidavit, a witness called the police, claiming a group of men was breaking into an apartment and were holding his brother at gunpoint. As officers were arriving at the complex, Murphy was shot and killed inside of the apartment, according to an affidavit. Three suspects were identified by police based on descriptions provided by a witness. Police said all three suspects and two witnesses were taken in for questioning. The two witnesses identified one suspect as Deveon Taylor-White, an affidavit states. A witness claimed they saw Taylor-White pointing a gun at Murphy’s back as he was forced into the apartment, police said. The second witness told officers Taylor-White gave orders to another suspect, named “Mike,” to shoot and kill Murphy, according to SAPD. |

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man pleaded guilty for attempting to sexually assault a juvenile on a bike path last March, the Erie County District Attorney announced Thursday.
On March 31 just before 2:35 p.m., 40-year-old Juliene M. Moore of Buffalo, also known as Julian Johnson, approached a juvenile on the North Buffalo Rails path near the area of Heath Street and Angle Street. He grabbed the victim from behind and attempted to sexually assault the victim, who screamed and attempted to fight off the attack. |

Julie Hoover, 39, a former teacher at Point of Grace Christian School in Perry, is facing a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and a second-degree felony charge of an authority figure soliciting or engaging in lewd conduct with a student, according to police via WCTV. Investigators allege that Hoover pressured the senior student to drink alcohol at the prom. At one point, the then-teacher forced the straw from the cup of her alcoholic beverage into his mouth. Hoover had alcohol at the event due to beverages being placed in a back room for staff for later, after the students left. The student also told investigators Hoover was “twerking” on him on the dance floor, which prompted some students to get in between him and the then-teacher. The 18-year-old noted it made him feel uncomfortable. A Sedgwick County jury on Wednesday convicted a Wichita man of 33 charges including rape, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated intimidation of a witness in a case that spanned multiple sexual assault, robbery and other crime reports investigated by Wichita police officers in 2020.
Patrick Alex Newborn, 35, will be sentenced Dec. 8 by Sedgwick County District Judge Jeffrey Syrios. Jurors deliberated for two days before handing down the guilty verdicts, according to a tweet from the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office that also thanked them for their service. Police arrested and jailed Newborn on Sept. 16, 2020, after a six-hour standoff at an apartment in the 9100 block of East Harry where he reportedly brandished a gun and threatened officers who tracked him there in connection with sex crimes cases reported in the days and weeks prior. Prosecutors tried Newborn for nearly 50 crimes occurring from June to September 2020. In addition to handing down the convictions, jurors acquitted him of 15 counts, court records show. The trial started Sept. 12. |

A 61-year-old Wichita man convicted at his August trial of randomly abducting and raping a 15-year-old girl who was walking home from a local grocery store was sentenced Monday to 47 1/2 years in prison, according to Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office spokesman Dan Dillon.
Police arrested Anthony Craig Seymour after the girl jumped out of his car following the Nov. 18, 2019, assault. Wichita police have said Seymour shouted at the teenager while she was walking to the Dillons store on Douglas and Hillside then pulled his car in front of her, halting her on her way back home. He got out of the car, put a knife against her throat, grabbed her hair and forced her into the passenger seat, according to police and court records. He then drove her to the 300 block of North Volutsia, where he sexually assaulted her, the records say. |
One BLACK charged, two on run in connection to multiple drive-by shootings in Richland County
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - The Richland County Sheriff’s Department has arrested 19-year-old, Darreun Miller.
According to investigators, Miller was one of three suspects who fled away in a white truck with connections to recent drive-by shootings in the Audubon Oaks community.
Investigators believe the shootings are retaliation to another shooting that occurred on Sept. 5 at an apartment complex on Bluff Road. Officials say around 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 30, a deputy tried to stop the vehicle but the driver would not stop which lead to a brief pursuit. The driver wrecked the vehicle into the woods at Firetower Road and Western Lane and multiple people got out of the vehicle and began to run. The deputy was able to chase Miller, who fired a shot at him but missed. Miller was taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to commit attempted murder, pointing and presenting, and unlawful carry. |
