(Black) Man charged with murder of his girlfriend’s baby
TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 20-year-old Buffalo man accused of killing his girlfriend’s seven-month-old son was arraigned Friday morning on an indictment charging him with murder and manslaughter.
On December 10, Nasir Jackson, 20, of Buffalo was watching seven-month-old, Ocean Reed, at the Knight’s Inn on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Town of Tonawanda Police responded to the Knight’s Inn after a report the seven-month-old was unresponsive.
Jackson is accused of reckless conduct that resulted in the infant’s death. Reed was unresponsive when he was transported to Kenmore Mercy Hospital and died on December 10, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s office. The 20-year-old is charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of first-degree manslaughter. Nasir Jackson will be back in court on February 14 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. He’s held without bail. If he’s convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. |
Two (Black) Buffalo men indicted in November shooting outside Devlin’s Deuce bar
TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 29-year-old Buffalo man was arraigned on four felony charges, including attempted murder in the November shooting outside Devlin’s Deuce bar in Tonawanda.
Leslie Tatum, 29, of Buffalo, stands accused of attempting to shoot; with an illegal gun; and kill a man outside the Town of Tonawanda bar in the early hours of November 20, 2021. Tatum allegedly pulled the trigger after a big fight happened outside the tavern, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s office.
The shooting victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center for surgery on “serious physical injuries.” Tatum faced more legal trouble when he was found with a loaded handgun under the front passenger seat he was sitting in when Buffalo Police pulled over a vehicle the 29-year-old was traveling in. The stop on East Delavan Avenue and Roslyn Street was initiated for tinted windows. He was arrested arraigned in Buffalo City Court on a gun charge. 25-year-old Quran McNish of Buffalo was also indicted Wednesday afternoon for his alleged involvement in the Tonawanda shooting. It’s alleged he provided Tatum with the illegal gun a short time before the shooting. |

New York Mayor Eric Adams has tapped his brother for a high-level job in the New York City Police Department (NYPD), raising questions regarding potential conflicts of interest, according to reports.
Bernard Adams, a retired police officer, will oversee governmental affairs in his role as a deputy police commissioner with the NYPD, the New York Post reported. The job comes with a salary of around $240,000, The Daily Beast said. He most recently worked as assistant director of operations for parking at the medical campus of Virginia Commonwealth University, according to his LinkedIn, after retiring from the NYPD in 2006. He left the police department after 20 years of service, the Daily Mail reported. Critics have suggested that it could breach conflict of interest rules. Jonathan Pollard says Jews ‘will always have dual loyalty’ and would counsel young Jews to consider spying for Israel By Ron Kampeas March 25, 2021 
(JTA) — Jonathan Pollard, the convicted spy for Israel whose story haunted the American Jewish community’s relations with the U.S. government for decades, is unrepentant.
“The bottom line on this charge of dual loyalty is, I’m sorry, we’re Jews, and if we’re Jews, we will always have dual loyalty,” Pollard said in an interview published Thursday in Israel Hayom, his first extensive remarks since his release from prison in 2015.
Pollard recalled how much of the Jewish leadership did not stand up for him following his 1985 arrest, when he was a civilian analyst for the U.S. Navy who was found to be spying for Israel. “If you’re outside Israel, then you live in a society in which you are basically considered unreliable,” he said. The U.S. Jewish leadership eventually softened in its outlook, and some Jewish leaders lobbied for Pollard’s release, saying his life sentence was excessive. Pollard’s full interview will be published Friday. In an earlier excerpt published by Israel Hayom, he said he knew he “crossed a line” when he relayed the information to Israel, but added that he believed the United States was withholding from Israel intelligence critical to its security. Pollard’s arrest and eventual conviction complicated ties between U.S. Jews and sectors of the government. Jews seeking entry into or advancement in the national security apparatus were often rebuffed, with Pollard cited as the reason. The Pollard narrative in part drove the espionage charges brought in 2004 against two top staffers for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee — a case that fell apart but drastically changed how AIPAC operated. Pollard suggested that Jews were deluding themselves if they thought of America as a home and suggested he would counsel a young U.S. Jew working in the American security apparatus to spy for Israel. Police in Virginia have released the names of two women they suspect were killed by the alleged "shopping cart killer," and said they may have found a fifth victim in Washington, D.C.
Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis told reporters Friday during a press conference that DNA evidence was used to identify Cheyenne Brown, 29, of Washington, D.C., and Stephanie Harrison, 48, of Redding, California, as the victims found Dec. 15 near the Moon Inn Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia.
The last person Brown was seen alive with was Anthony Eugene Robinson, Davis said. Robinson, 35, of Washington, D.C., is being held in the Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on two counts of murder and two counts of felony disposal of human remains. He was arrested in November 2021 and charged with the killing of Allene Elizabeth Redmon, 54, and Tonita Lorice Smith, 39. (aka Tonita Lorice Nita Smith Investigators believe the killer transported their bodies, found by police in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in a shopping cart, Davis said. "We believe he transported at least one of our Fairfax County victims in a shopping cart as well," he said. A Chinese immigrant who was brutally attacked by BLACK in New York City last year has died from his injuries
A Chinese man who was brutally attacked in New York City last year died as a result of his injuries, the New York City Police Department said.
Yao Pan Ma, 61, died on New Year's Eve after he was assaulted in April 2021, the NYPD confirmed to Insider.
"The incident has now been deemed a Homicide. The investigation remains ongoing," an NYPD spokesperson told Insider in an email. Surveillance video of the April 23, 2021, attack showed an assailant striking Ma from behind, knocking him to the ground, and proceeding to stomp on his head. Ma was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and was placed in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator. Jarrod Powell, 49, was arrested and charged days later for attempted murder and two counts of hate crime assault. Powell's next court date is scheduled for February 10. Police told the New York Daily News they expected Powell would now be charged with murder. He has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and hate crime charges, according to the New York Post. Ma was attacked as he was collecting cans to support his family after he had lost his job at a restaurant during the pandemic, his wife told the New York Daily News at the time. |

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) – Police have arrested a man wanted in connection in the death of a 2-year-old toddler.
Keshawn Ayers, 26, was apprehended Friday night along Bragg Boulevard in Fayetteville for his connection in the homicide of his girlfriend’s toddler that occurred on New Year’s Eve.
The incident was reported at 8:35 p.m. on Dec. 31 as an unresponsive child along the 2100 block of Malloy Street, according to a news release from Fayetteville police. The injured 2-year-old boy was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, but later died, officials said. When the toddler was injured, he was in the custody of his mother’s boyfriend, Ayers, the news release said. An autopsy later ruled the toddler’s death a homicide, the news release said. Ayers remains in the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond. |

His arrest on a capital murder charge for Karmarie’s death has sparked cops in Alaska to reopen the cold case of Williams’ daughter, Naudia Treniece, who died at 1-month old from blunt force trauma, WRBL-TV reported. Steve Dutra, police chief of the Alaskan city of North Pole, confirmed the case had been reopened to the station on Thursday. Williams had previously lived in North Pole with Naudia’s mother, who was stationed there with the Air Force, according to the report. But no charges were ever brought against Williams after investigations by North Pole police and the Air Force, WRBL stated. After Williams’ was arrested in Kamarie’s case, authorities in Alabama noted during a press conference that Williams had been a suspect in Alaska but was never charged due to a lack of evidence. Officers received a tip about 29-year-old Darrius Johnson, from Oklahoma City, being involved in pandering/human trafficking.
The victim told police that Johnson forced her into prostitution in Florida, California, Texas, and the Oklahoma City area. Johnson allegedly told the victim he was coming to Tulsa to force her into more work. Investigators were told what vehicle Johnson would be driving. On Thursday, the TPD helicopter spotted him just after midnight. Johnson was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail, facing charges of pandering after former conviction of a felony and human trafficking. His bond is set at $700,000. Investigators say Williams assaulted a Correctional Officer, which caused the victim to be treated by medical staff. Williams was charged with one count of Assault in the Second Degree (a class D felony). Williams is scheduled to be arraigned at Colonie Town Court next week. |

A 22-year-old Phoenix Police Department officer fired his gun at a suspect later determined to be unarmed during a burglary investigation in southwest Phoenix early Saturday morning, officials said.
Police responded to reports of a burglary near 51st Avenue and Baseline Road at around midnight on Saturday.
The officer, who was not immediately identified, tried unsuccessfully to communicate (suspected illegal african criminal alien may NOT SPEAK AMERICAN ENGLISH!!!) with 27-year-old Matthew Bia and get him to come outside of the business, Department spokesperson Sgt. Ann Justus said. Bia reached into his waistband and quickly pulled his hand out, at which point the officer believed he was wielding a gun and responded by firing one round, Justus said. It was later determined that Bia was unarmed. Bia was not struck by the bullet but had minor glass cuts from the break-in, Justus said. After other officers arrived at the scene, he was taken into custody on suspicion of burglary and aggravated assault on an officer. Justus said the basis for the assault charge comes from (ARIZONA State statutes) ARS 13-1203 and ARS 13-1204, which considers "reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury" as assault and classifies any assault against a police officer as aggravated assault. Dramatic video shows BLACK dine-and-dash duo running over California restaurant manager 
Dramatic video captures the moment a couple of brazen dine-and-dashers ran over the manager of a California restaurant when he confronted them about the unpaid $90 bill.
The man and woman entered the Ragin Cajun Café on South Pacific Coast Highway in upscale Redondo Beach early Monday afternoon and asked if they could sit at the farthest table on the empty patio, KTLA reported.
They then proceeded to order a large array of pricey items on the menu, including steak and lobster, eatery owner Lisa Hodges told the news outlet. After about 40 minutes, the unsavory characters reportedly asked for the check and takeout boxes for the many leftovers. “[The manager] went out to clean the table and grab the check, and their checkbook was empty,” Hodges told KTLA. “That’s when he saw them driving off in their car.” The manager decided to take action. “We have hay bales as our railing, so he jumped over,” Hodges told Fox News Digital. “He stood in front of their car just to ask them to pay the tab.” The male driver allegedly told him to walk over the vehicle so they could pay him. “But he (the manager) didn’t want to move, because I guess instinctually you realize they’re probably just going to take off,” the owner said. The surveillance footage shows the car accelerate toward the manager, who ends up on the hood. “They turned so quickly, that he fell off … onto the sidewalk,” Hodges told KTLA. “They could have reversed. They could have driven around him. But they chose to just hit the gas and drive through him,” she told Fox News Digital. The manager suffered minor injuries in the frightening incident but was back at work two days later, according to KTLA. |

"It’s an experience that should be met with an outreached hand, not handcuffs and murder charges," Bonta said of women who go through a stillbirth. His online news conference was prompted by the California Future of Abortion Council, a group of abortion providers and advocacy groups, who asked Bonta to interpret state law. SALT LAKE CITY — A man who has had an outstanding $1 million warrant out for his arrest for 4 1/2 years accusing him of shooting and killing a 16-year-old boy who was "egging" cars has been arrested in Mexico and returned to Utah.
Salt Lake police on Friday announced that Fortunato Nato Villagrana, 27, had been transported back to Salt Lake City by the U.S. Marshals Service following his arrest.
Paris' mother, Ashly Gustin, could hardly contain her excitement as she broadcasted a live video on the Justice for Paris Gustin Facebook page at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, right after Villagrana was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail. "That is right, that is right, that is right, Villagrana has been captured and is finally, finally in jail and going to be serving time for my son, Paris Gustin's murder," she said while holding up a wanted posted with the word "captured" printed across Villagrana's photo. Gustin said Villagrana has actually been in custody since July but had been fighting extradition back to the United States. She called his arrest and return to Utah a bittersweet moment. It's a bittersweet moment, though, as obviously there's so many families waiting for their justice," she said. During the early morning hours of July 5, 2016, Paris Gustin, 16, was inside a Honda Civic with two other boys, both 16. They were driving around and throwing eggs at people and other vehicles in the Fairpark neighborhood near 600 North and 1100 West. Gustin, who was in the front passenger seat, threw an egg through the open window of a Nissan, which hit the driver, Villagrana, in the ear, according to charging documents. An upset Villagrana drove to his home to retrieve an AK-47, the charges state, and then he and Martin Antonio Cruz, now 27, went looking for the car. Police say they spotted the teens near 600 North and 1000 West, made a U-turn in the street and began chasing the boys. Villagrana leaned out the front passenger window and fired several shots from about a foot away, striking Gustin in the head and back, according to the charges. Gustin yelled to his friends that he had been shot. In February 2017, Cruz was arrested and both men were charged in 3rd District Court with murder, a first-degree felony; discharge of a firearm causing serious injury, a first-degree felony; and two counts of discharge of a firearm, a third-degree felony. A $1 million arrest warrant was issued for Villagrana. Cruz's court case is still ongoing. His next court hearing is scheduled for Jan. 24. "Even though there are monsters that go bump in the night, everything that is done in the dark eventually comes to light. And people like this are caught," Ashley Gustin said in her video. Gustin said the big break came after she was able to get wanted posters of Villagrana distributed on Facebook in Mexico. Because of that, she said she received a tip about a year ago from someone who knew where Villagrana was. She said she has had to remain quiet publicly about police efforts to arrest Villagrana. But once he was flown back to Salt Lake City on Thursday night, she was allowed to reveal the secret she had been keeping for months. The Memphis Police Department issued a first-degree murder warrant for Johnson, 23, on Wednesday -- a Memphis man with a history of violence who is allegedly a local Memphis rapper known as Straight Drop or Straight Dropp, according to ABC Memphis station, WATN, and other local media outlets.
“This is just the beginning,” Dolph’s longtime partner Mia Jaye said in a statement posted to Instagram, following law enforcement's announcement of the alleged suspect. “We are still prayerful that all attacks, plots and plans that were made against Adolph’s life are revealed and justice is diligently served.” Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., was shot and killed in Memphis on Nov. 17 while visiting Makeda's Homemade Butter Cookies, a bakery in South Memphis the rapper was known to frequent. He was 36 and shared two young children with Jaye, Tre and Ari, both of whom shared an emotional tribute to their father at a memorial in Memphis last month. Police have arrested a man charged in a shooting in North Versailles that injured his own daughter.
Shawn Coles-Lundy, 29, of Elizabeth Township, was charged Thursday after he allegedly shot at an SUV carrying five people, injuring two of them: his 6-year-old daughter and a 31-year-old man.
According to a criminal complaint, Mr. Coles-Lundy fired the shots Wednesday during a planned custody exchange outside the North Versailles Police Department on Greensburg Pike. Municipal surveillance cameras captured the child entering the SUV while Mr. Coles-Lundy had “a brief altercation” with the 31-year-old man, who arrived in the SUV. According to the complaint, the man is the current boyfriend of Mr. Coles-Lundy’s daughter’s mother. Mr. Coles-Lundy then pulled out a 9mm handgun and shot the man, who fled back to the SUV and entered the rear driver’s side passenger seat, the complaint says. Mr. Coles-Lundy continued firing as he moved around the vehicle. When a detective interviewed the mother on the scene, she told him that she exchanges custody with Mr. Coles-Lundy outside the police building every Wednesday. According to the complaint, the woman said Mr. Coles-Lundy had court-ordered custody with the girl every week from 6-8 p.m. When she arrived at the police department around 8 p.m. for the exchange, she was accompanied by her boyfriend and her 11-month-old son. When Mr. Coles-Lundy opened fire and her boyfriend jumped back into the car, she heard the 6-year-old yell “Ouch!” after she was struck in the left hip by gunfire. The boyfriend started yelling to the woman and asking her to drive, the complaint says, and the SUV fled the area. The fifth person in the SUV, a 14-year-old girl, was not identified in the complaint. The teen told police she did not hear anything said between Mr. Coles-Lundy and the other man, and she told officers that Mr. Coles-Lundy continued firing his weapon even as the man jumped into the backseat with the three children. She also said she had never been present for a prior custody exchange and was not aware of any history between the two men, the complaint says. A New York City middle school teacher allegedly groomed a female student for years before sexually assaulting the seventh-grader, prosecutors said.
Cesar Sanchez, 35, a science teacher at KIPP Washington Heights, was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with course of sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child, court records show.
Sanchez is accused of making “sexually suggestive and lewd comments” to the student starting in 2016 when she was in fourth grade, according to a criminal complaint. That behavior allegedly continued into her eighth-grade year, the complaint said. Between September 2019 and March 2020, Sanchez repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl until her classes were forced to go remote during the COVID-19 pandemic, the documents said. |

BELVIDERE, Ill. (AP) — A man has been charged in the slayings of a man and his two young sons found shot to death last month in a northern Illinois home.
Alize Q. Smith, 24, of Huntley, faces three counts of first-degree murder in the Dec. 19 killings of Andrew Hintt, 31, and his two sons, Benjamin, 7, and Sebastian, 5, Belvidere police said Wednesday.
Police said Smith spent part of the day of the killings with Hintt and his sons at Hintt’s Belvidere home, about 70 miles (110 kilometers) northwest of Chicago. It wasn't immediately clear how the men knew each other and police haven't announced a possible motive for the killings amid the ongoing investigation. Smith was being held without bond at the Boone County Jail and his first court appearance was expected Thursday afternoon. He was arrested last month for a parole violation and identified by Belvidere police as a person of interest in the killings. “A tragedy like this affects us all, and our heart goes out to the families who are left to pick up the pieces," Belvidere Police Chief Shane Woody said Wednesday. Boone County State’s Attorney Tricia Smith said that if he's convicted, Smith would face life in prison for each count of first-degree murder, without the option for parole. Four (colored) arrested after women threatened, assaulted in San Angelo 
UPDATE: Nearly a year after four people were arrested in an assault, two have been indicted in the case, according to court documents released Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022.
Indictments charged Gabreal Geenwood and Jyzharnae Greenwood with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This is a second degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in jail and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
A court date has been tentatively set both women for February, according to court documents.

MARION, N.C. (WLOS) — One man has been arrested and charged with murder following a fatal shooting Monday night in Marion.
Authorities say at approximately 7:44 p.m., Marion Police officers responded to a disturbance at a home on Park Avenue near Cardinal Lane.
Officers reported finding a “chaotic” scene with one victim, identified as Ethan Dakota Troutman,20, of Marion, found with a single gunshot wound to the torso. Troutman was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation into the incident has revealed that the victim went to the home as a passenger in a 2006 Hummer SUV. It is suspected that the purpose of the visit was to collect money that was owed to him by an individual that was present at the home. Witness statements say that the victim exited the vehicle and went to the front of the residence. Once at the front of the residence contact was made between the individual that owed money and Troutman, and an altercation ensued. During the altercation, a third person identified as Emillio Jesus Villarreal, 24, of Morganton, came out of the residence with a handgun. At some point, Villarreal fired a single shot from the front porch striking Troutman in the torso. Troutman then ran from the front of the residence and got back in the Hummer to leave. It was only then he and his passengers realized he had been shot. At that time the other occupants in the vehicle removed Troutman and tried to render aid, but their attempts were unsuccessful. Emillio Jesus Villarreal was arrested on the scene and charged with murder. Villarreal was transported to the McDowell County Jail where he is being held under a secured bond. A young woman was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Highway 99 strip club, and one of her companions has been accused of the murder.
Alicia Flores, 21, of Corning, died on Dec. 30 outside Centerfolds, a bar with nude dancers 5 miles north of Chico, the Butte County sheriff’s office said.
Flores had reportedly arrived at the bar around 9:40 p.m. with a female friend and that woman’s boyfriend. An hour later, all three of them went out to the parking lot; at 11:03 p.m., the other woman came back to the bar and asked for a 911 call because her friend had been shot, the sheriff’s report said. Flores was pronounced dead in the backseat of an SUV. Sheriff’s investigators were told that the other woman’s boyfriend — Fernando Palomares, 29, of Vina — had been seen running from the vehicle around 11 p.m. At 4:30 a.m. Dec. 31, deputies found Palomares walking about six miles north of Centerfolds. He was arrested and taken to the Butte County jail, where he was held on suspicion of violating his parole. He had been released from prison in May 2021 after serving time for a 2013 stabbing in Chico, the sheriff’s office said. On Tuesday, Jan. 4, Palomares was charged with Flores’ murder and ordered held without bail; he is scheduled to enter a plea on Thursday. The continuing investigation has involved multiple agencies, including wardens from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, who are retracing Palomares’ path away from the scene of the shooting. J $tash, whose real name was Justin Joseph, died in Temple City, Calif., on Saturday. He was 28.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, cops heard a report of domestic violence around 7:14 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
Deputies found the bodies of Jeanette Gallegos, 27, and (POS) Joseph at the scene. $tash had an argument with Gallegos and he led her into the master bedroom, where he locked the door. Their bodies were found in the room. “The female victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while the male victim sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,” deputies noted, according to People. “Right now, the evidence at the scene and the preliminary information we have from the children in the home is that it’s a murder-suicide,” Lt. Derrick Alfred told KTLA on Jan. 1 of the incident. The three children ranged in age from 5 to 11 and were uninjured. When authorities arrived at the home, the children were removed and sent to live with relatives. The Associated Press reported that one of the kids called their grandmother, who told them to call 911. However, it’s unknown if the call was made before or after Gallegos was killed. Joseph had been "dating" the mom for about a year before their deaths. Gallegos’ family started a GoFundMe page to raise money for her funeral and express their grief over the situation. GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — The man wanted in connection with a murder case from 2017 in Nashville has been taken into custody in Gallatin.
Police say Victor A. Walls, 25, was arrested on cocaine, fentanyl and resisting arrest charges. He was wanted on a first-degree murder indictment for the 2017 fatal shooting of Terry Sherrell, 21.

Rapper Pooh Shiesty is facing more than eight years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to a federal gun charge stemming from three shootings during the past two years in Tennessee and Miami-Dade County.
Lontrell Williams Jr., 21, a.k.a Pooh Shiesty, admitted to conspiring to possess firearms in furtherance of crimes of violence and drug trafficking as part of the plea, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in South Florida said in a release.
United States District Judge Michael K. Moore will sentence Williams at a future hearing. According to the signed plea agreement, the government cannot ask for more than 97 months in prison. He could also be facing up to three years of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000 The feds say Williams’ charges pertain to three different events, from July 2020 to May 2021. In July 2020, Williams was with a person who fired a gun inside a car at a gas station in Memphis, Tennessee. Later, in October 2020, Williams, Bobby Brown and Jayden Darosa arranged to buy marijuana and high-end sneakers from two men at the Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands. During the deal, Williams and Brown shot the two men, one in the hip and the other in the rear end. Brandon Cooper was one of the two men shot and was later arrested in a fraud bust. He was one of eight suspects arrested for allegedly forging checks, then withdrawing money from the accounts of unsuspecting businesses and people. The second man wounded in the attack, Jeffrey Sarna, was also arrested and accused of taking part in a scheme to steal money from elderly people. In December 2020, Williams was arrested in connection to that shooting, pleaded not guilty and bonded out in March. A few months later, he was again in trouble with the law on Memorial Day weekend. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A man was sentenced Tuesday for his involvement in an armed robbery that led to an officer-involved shooting in 2018.
Shots were fired between a Virginia Beach Police officer and one of the suspects after a robbery at a 7-Eleven in the 1700 block of South Independence Boulevard on October 11, 2018.
23-year-old Jahkil Tiashion McPhail was sentenced Tuesday on two counts of robbery, three counts of use of a firearm, conspiracy, abduction, and wearing a mask in public.
A judge sentenced McPhail to 87 years in prison with 47 suspended, leaving 40 years to serve. He plead guilty on August 23. According to officials, if this case went to trial evidence would prove that on October 11, 2018, McPhail and his co-defendant Jasper Wynn, planned to rob a 7-Eleven store on S. Independence Boulevard. Officials say they forced a female clerk that was outside, inside at gunpoint. They say they ordered her and another clerk to the ground and took money and cigarettes. Two Virginia Beach police officers had just arrived at the 7-Eleven and parked their surveillance van in the parking lot facing the store. They say they saw McPhail and Wynn commit the armed robbery. They called for back-up and confronted McPhail and Wynn as they fled on foot. As McPhail fled, police say Wynn turned toward the officers and fired at them. They returned fire. Wynn was struck and was taken to the hospital. According to officials, one of the officers later discovered a bullet hole through the lower leg of his uniform and a graze wound to his leg. Wynn pled guilty to charges of two counts of Attempted Capital Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer, two counts of Robbery, three counts of Use of a Firearm, Conspiracy, Abduction, and Wearing a Mask in Public. He is scheduled for sentencing on February 14. |

Police arrive to find NON-hispanic man shot, HISPANIC NAMED "JESUS" (Hey Zeus!) now charged with murder
MARION, N.C. (WLOS) — One man has been arrested and charged with murder following a fatal shooting Monday night in Marion.
Authorities say at approximately 7:44 p.m., Marion Police officers responded to a disturbance at a home on Park Avenue near Cardinal Lane.
Officers reported finding a “chaotic” scene with one victim, identified as Ethan Dakota Troutman,20, of Marion, found with a single gunshot wound to the torso. Troutman was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation into the incident has revealed that the victim went to the home as a passenger in a 2006 Hummer SUV. It is suspected that the purpose of the visit was to collect money that was owed to him by an individual that was present at the home. Witness statements say that the victim exited the vehicle and went to the front of the residence. Once at the front of the residence contact was made between the individual that owed money and Troutman, and an altercation ensued. During the altercation, a third person identified as Emillio Jesus Villarreal, 24, of Morganton, came out of the residence with a handgun. At some point, Villarreal fired a single shot from the front porch striking Troutman in the torso. Troutman then ran from the front of the residence and got back in the Hummer to leave. It was only then he and his passengers realized he had been shot. At that time the other occupants in the vehicle removed Troutman and tried to render aid, but their attempts were unsuccessful. Emillio Jesus Villarreal was arrested on the scene and charged with murder. Villarreal was transported to the McDowell County Jail where he is being held under a secured bond. MODESTO (CBS13) — The man charged in a 2019 Modesto shooting that appears to have stemmed from road rage has been convicted.
Prosecutors said an
enraged Fernando Maravilla Garcia shot four to five times at another vehicle on June 16, 2019. It’s unclear what prompted Garcia’s road rage.
Christina Medeiros was the driver of the other car and was pregnant at the time. She suffered a gunshot wound to her shoulder, prosecutors said, while a passenger was also hit in the torso. There was also a 4-year-old in the back passenger seat of Medeiros’ car, but that child was not hurt. Garcia was arrested and prosecutors initially charged him with four felonies: two counts of attempted murder and two counts of shooting at an occupied vehicle. On Monday, Garcia was convicted on the two counts of shooting at a vehicle – with firearm enhancements and causing great bodily injury to Medeiros and the other passenger. In September, Alejandro Gonzalez, an Iraq war Army veteran honored for his service in combat, drove his family from Union City, Georgia, to Baltimore to see his mother.
The plan was for a short visit there before they all traveled in separate vehicles to visit his 94-year-old grandmother in New York, Gonzalez's lawyer said.
But the Baltimore visit took a turn for the worse over a long-standing apartment building neighbor dispute, and Baltimore prosecutors have charged Gonzalez, 38, with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Travis Ben-Watkins, 26. Gonzalez claims it was an act of self-defense. Gonzalez is in a Baltimore jail while he awaits a trial set for March 2022 in Baltimore Circuit Court. His attorney, Michael Stark, said he is renewing a petition for Gonzalez's release on bond to stay with an Army friend in Frederick, Maryland, where he could remain until the trial. He would be staying in the state and close enough to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for continued treatment of wartime post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. Ben-Watkins was an upstairs neighbor of Gonzalez's 66-year-old mother. She had been having a dispute over trash and marijuana use with her upstairs neighbors. During the Sept. 4 visit, Alejandro Gonzalez confronted Ben-Watkins about the ongoing dispute, according to The Baltimore Sun, and that conversation escalated. Stark said the neighbor threatened Gonzalez and his family, told him to wait and began to make a phone call. Gonzalez, believing the neighbor was calling for backup, rushed to get everyone out and cut the visit short, Stark said. While helping his mother pack, he also grabbed her registered 9 mm handgun, Stark said. As they were about to leave, Ben-Watkins emerged outside with a wooden chair, smashed it on the ground, and charged, waving the broken leg of the chair like a club. That’s when Gonzalez fired the gun and killed Ben-Watkins, The Baltimore Sun reported. Gonzalez then proceeded to drive his family back to Georgia, and his mother went to the Baltimore police and told the department what happened, Stark said. "What cuts against him is that he went back to Georgia to begin with," Stark said. "But he was smart to get his kids away from there. He said he wanted to get his kids back home." After getting his sons home, Gonzalez checked into a Veterans Affairs hospital in DeKalb County for his PTSD and TBI. From there, he called the police and told them where he was, Stark said. HAINES CITY, Fla — Police are searching for a man they say is connected to a murder that happened moments after midnight on New Year's Day in Haines City.
According to law enforcement, at around 12:20 a.m., 42-year-old Jeffery Bouiye shot and killed 47-year-old Andre Jackson near N. 12th Street and Avenue. Jackson suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was rushed to AdventHealth Heart of Florida where he was later pronounced dead. Detectives say Bouiye was angry with Jackson over a woman he was dating. When Jackson walked away, police say Bouiye pulled out a handgun and shot him multiple times before driving away. An 18-year-old Ohio woman charged with killing an off-duty Cleveland cop during a New Year’s Eve carjacking has admitted to the slaying, a prosecutor said Monday.
Tamara Unique McLoyd, of Garfield Heights, confessed to fatally shooting Officer Shane Bartek, 25, at an apartment complex on Cleveland’s West Side, where the cop who joined the department in 2019 was shot twice in the back during an ambush Friday, Cleveland.com reported.
McLoyd, who was charged with aggravated murder, told investigators following her arrest early Saturday that she shot Bartek, Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Jose Torres told a judge during her first court appearance Monday. McLoyd “ambushed” Bartek and shot him after he tried to fight back during an ensuing struggle, according to police and court records cited by the outlet.

The shooters who killed a 22-year-old man at an Orange County mobile home park in November attacked “without provocation,” during an apparent attempt to rob the victim, according to an affidavit.
The affidavit filed in the case against 20-year-old Marcos Antonio Hector Alquicira indicates that he was one of several assailants involved in killing Yohan De La Riva and wounding a young woman at Groves Mobile Home Park.
Deputies were called to the mobile home park, which is on Stardust Lane near Pine Hills, about 6:45 p.m. Nov. 27 after a Ford Fiesta sedan crashed into a home there, the affidavit states.
They arrived to find both shooting victims inside the vehicle. De La Riva, who had been shot in his arm and back, was taken to Health Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The female victim, who was not identified in the affidavit, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center. She said De La Riva had been talking to someone earlier that day about purchasing marijuana and had gone to the mobile home park to make the deal. After they parked, she said, three people approached with guns and started threatening her and De La Riva, the affidavit said. The victim said it appeared that De La Riva had been set up for a robbery. A resident at the mobile home complex helped deputies identify two of the suspected attackers, including Alquicira, the affidavit states. The Sheriff’s Office also determined that Alquicira and De La Riva had been in contact via Instagram prior to the killing. The Instagram account also featured “several videos of suspected cannabis for sale,” the affidavit said. One image with Alquircira’s face in it was allegedly captioned, “You don’t need love to be happy you need weed thank me later.” A detective also noted that Alquicira lives inside the mobile home park, just north of where the killing happened. Alquicira was jailed on charges of first-degree felony murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and attempted robbery. He is being held without bail at the Orange County Jail. (KIRKSVILLE, Mo.) Authorities are searching for man suspected of killing two people and injuring two more in a shooting in Kirksville, Missouri.
According to the Kirksville Police Department, officers responded to a report of shots fired just before 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 30.
When police arrived on scene, they found multiple victims with gunshot wounds. Police said an 18-month-old child was pronounced dead at the scene and Braxton Cottrill, 22, was transported to University Hospital in Columbia where he later died.
In a news release, police said Alissa Anders, 18, was hospitalized in critical condition and Randall Yarrington, 21, was taken to a medical facility and treated for gunshot wounds. Police identified Anquan Eugene Glover as a suspect in the shooting. As of Friday, police have been unable to locate Glover. According to the news release, police believe the suspect and victims knew each other and believe the victims were targeted. CLEVELAND (WJW) — An 18-year-old woman has now been charged with aggravated murder in the shooting death of off-duty Cleveland Police Officer Shane Bartek.
According to Cleveland Municipal Court records, Tamara McLoyd was charged Sunday with a count of aggravated murder.
She was arrested hours after Bartek was shot twice and killed in an alleged carjacking Dec. 31. Court papers say Tamara McLoyd “did purposely cause the death of Shane Bartek during the armed robbery of his vehicle.” The complaint says detectives looked at security video which showed the officer being ambushed and robbed. Police say “McLoyd shot Bartek during a struggle.” Police sources say after she allegedly shot Bartek on Cleveland’s west side, she took his car and drove off. She is then accused of giving the car to Anthony Butler Jr. Richmond Heights police spotted the stolen car Butler was driving and pursued the vehicle. Butler crashed the car into a fence in Euclid. He was arrested and is facing charges of fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property and numerous traffic related charges. Lyndhurst Municipal Judge Dominic Coletta set his bond at $5,000,000. LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Las Vegas police have arrested two men in connection with fatal shootings that police said stemmed from attempted robberies in the parking garages of the Fashion Show Mall and Palace Station on New Year's Eve.
On Dec. 31, 2021 around 1:30 p.m., police received a call of a shooting inside the parking garage of the Fashion Show Mall is located. Police found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound, who was pronounced dead. Around 6:14 p.m., police received a call of an employee shot in a parking garage of Palace Station. He was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.
Police said before both shootings, an unknown suspect attempted to conduct a robbery. LVMPD Homicide detectives determined the incidents were related. They identified the suspects as 20-year-old Jesani Carter and 20-year-old Jordan Ruby. According to detectives, Carter and Ruby had entered the parking garages of these establishments to commit robberies, during which they fired shots at victims, striking and killing them. Police are reviewing the suspects' possible connection to other events. Carter and Ruby have been booked into the Clark County Detention Center on charges for open murder. Wild video footage shows the moment an alleged drunken driver plowed his Mercedes into an unmarked police vehicle carrying a Brooklyn precinct commander, sending the NYPD car flying and the higher-up to the hospital, cops said Sunday.
RUSSIAN NYPD Capt. Vitaliy Zelikov, commander of the 76th Precinct, was in the cop car, with its emergency lights flashing, when it pulled over a 2021 Cadillac SUV on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, police said.
That’s when a 2020 Mercedes-Benz sedan is seen on the footage speeding and cutting across traffic, then smashing into the rear of the NYPD vehicle.
The police vehicle flies into the air and into a 2011 Toyota van, according to cops.
Sources said Zelikov suffered a leg injury.
Police said he was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was listed in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fabjon Agolji, 24, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and colliding with an emergency vehicle.
The operator of the Cadillac, which had been pulled over earlier, was charged with driving with a suspended license and criminal possession of a controlled substance. It wasn’t immediately clear why the Cadillac was initially pulled over.

LOWER MERION, Pa .– Authorities are looking for a Philadelphia woman who investigators say shot and killed her mother’s fiancé in the lobby of an apartment building in Lower Merion on New Years Eve.
Officers from the Lower Merion Police Department were called to the parking lot of the Delwyn Apartments shortly after 8:30 a.m. Friday over reports of a domestic feud, investigators said.
Police say Adrionne Reaves and her fiancee Jodie Furman told officers they had a verbal argument and agreed to go their separate ways for the night. Reaves arranged for his daughter to pick him up from nearby Lord and Taylor, but they returned to the apartment parking lot first to find a set of lost keys, investigators said. There, authorities believe Reaves met her fiancé and mother, Florence Furman, who came to the apartment complex after her daughter alleged that Reaves “got hold of her.” Surveillance footage shows Reaves and the three women in the lobby when Reaves suddenly collapses, police said. Shortly thereafter, police allege that 24-year-old Samiyah Williams was seen leaving the lobby. According to investigators, Williams is the daughter of Jodi Furman and lives with grandmother Florence Furman. Williams, who police say legally owns a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and is licensed to carry in Philadelphia, is charged with first degree murder and related offenses. Investigators said Williams was 5 feet, 127 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is considered armed and dangerous.

BRADLEY, Ill. -- A woman wanted in the fatal shooting of one police officer and the wounding of another at a northern Illinois hotel surrendered to police hours after a man also suspected in the shooting was arrested in Indiana, police said.
Xandria Harris, 26, of Bradley, Illinois, turned herself in Friday afternoon at the Bradley Police Department while accompanied by her attorney, Illinois State Police said. She was being held at a detention facility in Kankakee.
Harris’ attorney, Phil Haddad, declined to discuss her alleged involvement in the shooting, but said that she turned herself in voluntarily and will appear in bond court on Monday. “She maintains her innocence. She’s a mother of three children and she’s pregnant," Haddad told WLS-TV on Friday. Hours before Harris surrendered, a man who is suspected in late Wednesday's shooting that killed Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic, a 49-year-old Bradley police officer, and critically wounded her partner, Officer Tyler Bailey, 27, was arrested Friday morning at a home in North Manchester, Indiana, police said. Darius Sullivan, a 26-year-old from Kankakee, Illinois, was wanted in the officers' shootings on active warrants for first-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. State police said in a news release Friday evening that arrangements were being made to extradite Sullivan from Indiana to Kankakee County. “In a multi-jurisdictional effort, two alleged cop killers have been taken into custody today and will now face justice,” Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly said in the news release. A Connecticut man with lengthy criminal record was arrested again for allegedly presenting a fake COVID-19 positive test result in order to avoid appearing for a bond hearing before Christmas.
Junior Jumpp, 31, of Hartford, Conn., was arrested Tuesday and newly charged with one count of forgery in the second degree and one count of fabricating physical evidence.
Prosecutors argue he illegally fabricated a positive COVID-19 test notification to avoid appearing before Superior Court Judge Maureen Keegan at a scheduled bond review hearing on Nov. 30. Jumpp had been out on bond following his arrest in connection with "a number of criminal cases" pending in the New Britain Judicial District, according to an arrest affidavit. His bond conditions required that he not be arrested in connection with any other crimes for which probable cause is found. Members of the Hartford Police Department arrested Jumpp on a warrant on Nov. 16 charging him with threatening in the second degree and breach of peace in the second degree. Just ten days later, he found himself in trouble with the law again when members of the South Windsor Police Department arrested Jumpp again on Nov. 26 on a warrant charging him with interfering with an officer and breach of peace in the second degree. Jumpp was ordered to appear before Judge Keegan due to his non-compliance with conditions of release. Jumpp emailed the judge directly that day pleading with her to allow him at least two weeks with his children before sending him back to jail. A day before his scheduled hearing, Jumpp’s defense attorney told investigators his client texted him a photo of a "positive COVID MyCare message." The lawyer took a screenshot and emailed it to the judge, who then excused Jumpp from the hearing. But a representative for Trinity Health of New England/ Saint Francis Hospital later confirmed to the court that the image was altered, pointing to the image’s date and Jumpp’s name. Further review of COVID medical records obtained through a search warrant revealed that Jumpp’s MyCare account had been inactive, and he therefore would not have received any test notification. |

2021 ends as Chicago's deadliest year in a quarter century CHICAGO -- The year of 2021 ended as one of the most violent on record in Chicago, as a rise in the number of shootings left more people dead than in any single year in a quarter century, according to statistics released by the police department on Saturday. According to the department, 2021 ended with 797 homicides. That is 25 more than were recorded 2020, 299 more than in 2019 and the most since 1996. And there were 3,561 shooting incidents in 2021, which is just over 300 more than were recorded in 2020 and a staggering 1,415 more shooting incidents than were recorded in the city in 2019. Other cities have also seen an increase in the number of homicides. But Chicago, as it has in previous years, ended 2021 with more homicides than any other city in the United States, including New York and Los Angeles, both of which had recorded at least 300 fewer homicides than Chicago for the year as of late December, according to police data from those cities.

News 8 Atlanta – It was a grim ending to an already emotional day for the family of 87 year old Henry Williams, who was being laid to rest at Atlanta’s Meadow Valley Funeral home over the weekend. The Georgia family was saying goodbye to their dearly departed as the pallbearers carried the casket to the hearse. It was at that moment that their day of mourning was forever destroyed by an uninvited woman, 24-year-old Leshaniqua Walker who claims she had a relationship with the deceased.
One of the pallbearers recalls the tragic incident. “We were carrying the casket out of the funeral home to the hearse when all of a sudden this black girl in booty shorts and high heels ran over and jumped in between the hearse in the casket,” said Ron Williams, the son of the deceased man. “She squatted down, put her hands on her knees and her backside was bouncing up and down. She started bouncing on the casket crying ‘This is for you daddy, just how you like it.’ Two of my brothers who were holding the casket upfront tried to push her off and that’s when it slipped out of their hands.” According to the family, when the casket hit the ground Henry Williams fell out onto the pavement. That’s when Leshaniqua Walker jumped on top of Williams dead body, with one leg on each side, and began twerking to ‘Don’t Drop That Thun Thun’ by Finatticz that was playing on her cell phone. The family was able to quickly restrain her and pulled her off the old man. Police arrived within minutes taking Walker into custody. According to the police report, Walker stated that her and the deceased elderly man were in a secret relationship for two years. Walker said Williams nicknamed her brown sugar and paid her to twerk on him every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday night in a private room at the nursing home. However, the family of Henry Williams refuses to believe her story even though police have confirmed that Walker had visited the nursing home numerous times over the last two years. Henry’s son Ron says they pride themselves on having a strictly white family and any type of interracial relationships were prohibited. “I think this was just some random crazy lady who wanted attention,” said Ron. “She was probably on drugs.” |

After a two-week investigation, cops arrested Siple on Dec. 28 and charged her with the murder. Another person, 37-year-old man Jeremy Williams, is also accused of murder in the case. Police said Siple took the money from Williams and let him rape her daughter, local CBS affiliate WRBL reported. Police said Siple and Williams had a prior relationship but did not fully explain it. Williams formerly owned the abandoned Phenix City home where Kamarie was found dead, cops said. He was arrested early in the investigation. Police said Kamarie had been sexually assaulted and asphyxiated. Both Williams and Siple are being held in local jails without bond, according to WRBL.

This happens on the weekend,” someone complained to the Department of Buildings in December 2020. The NYPD counted 14 complaints to 311 about loud music from November 2020 to March of 2021. Shan Haider, who rents the penthouse apartment in the townhouse said loud partying sometimes starts as late as 4 a.m. “I complained so many times,” he said. He said in April 2021, some of the downstairs revelers broke into his apartment while he was out of town and that video captured the man with his pants down walking in with a woman following. Mitch Spaiser, who bought the townhouse in 2012 as an investment, said he was inundated with complaints about the partying. “I was getting calls from people in the neighborhood like threatening my life,” he said. Spaiser tried to evict Jurman who, in turn, demanded tens of thousands of dollars to leave, according to a lawsuit Spaiser filed through his LLC in state Supreme Court in August. Taub, Jurman and “John Does” are named as defendants.

Off-duty Cleveland police officer shot, killed in carjacking
CLEVELAND (AP) — An off-duty Cleveland police officer was shot and killed in a carjacking, and a suspect is in custody, authorities said.
The officer, whose name has not been released, was relatively new to the force and fought back but was shot twice during a robbery of his vehicle early Friday evening on Cleveland's west side, officials said.
The shooter took the officer's vehicle, which was tracked down in suburban Euclid, where the suspect was arrested, police say. The officer was pronounced dead on arrival at Fairview Hospital. “My heart is aching for the family, for our officers. Senseless. It just doesn’t make any sense,” said incoming Cleveland Police Chief Wayne Drummond. It’s the first fatal shooting of a Cleveland police officer since detective James Skernivitz was shot and killed in September 2020 during an undercover drug operation. A police informant was also killed.

A Minnesota teen wanted by cops for allegedly trying to rob an elderly woman ended up being busted after his own mother recognized him in CCTV footage and turned him in.
Isaiah Jamal Foster, 18, has been charged with aggravated robbery and assault over the Dec. 23 attack on the 81-year-old woman at a Walgreens in St Paul, FOX9 reported.
In a bid to track the suspect down, police released CCTV footage last week that showed the suspect trying to steal the victim’s bag as she entered the store. The video showed the victim, whose purse was strapped around her wrist, being violently pulled onto the sidewalk after the suspect grabbed hold. Cops said the victim suffered a brain bleed, broken pelvis and other injuries after she fell to the floor outside the store. She was treated in a hospital but has since been released. Foster was nabbed after his mom told cops she recognized the coat the suspect was wearing — and that she was convinced it was her teenage son. “I’m 100 percent sure that is him,” the mother said, according to a criminal complaint. Foster’s mom told authorities she didn’t raise her son that way — and decided to turn him in after “praying on it,” the complaint said. Foster had already been in police custody — for a car-jacking Tuesday in St. Paul — when his mom phoned in the tip. A man suspected in the shooting of one police officer and wounding of another at a northern Illinois hotel has been taken into custody, the Illinois State Police said Friday.
The agency said in a statement that Darius Sullivan was found Friday morning, a day after authorities warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The statement did not provide details of where Sullivan was found. It said he will be transported brought back to Kankakee County, where the shooting occurred late Wednesday. One police officer is dead and another is in serious condition after being shot while responding to a call at a hotel in Kankakee County, Illinois, Wednesday night.
The two Bradley Police Department officers were responding to a report about dogs barking in an unattended vehicle in the parking lot of a Comfort Inn, according to ABC News station WLS in Chicago.
The officers were shot during an altercation while they were on the scene, according to the Kankakee County Sheriff's Office. After finding the vehicle, they headed to a room inside the hotel where the vehicle's possible owner was staying. While talking to the room's occupants, those individuals attacked the officers, shooting them, the sheriff's office told ABC 7 Chicago. Authorities have not apprehended the alleged shooters. They are asking for information about or the location for 25-year-old Darius Sullivan. The sheriff's office said he should be considered armed and dangerous. The incident occurred just after 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday, authorities said. The two officers were taken to nearby hospitals, according to ABC 7 Chicago. Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic, one of the officers shot, was killed. A funeral procession for Rittmanic will be held on Thursday, according to the Kankakee County Coroner's Office. Dramatic police bodycam footage captured the moment a domestic abuse suspect shot and wounded two Kansas officers on Christmas Eve before the trapped suspect turned the gun on himself and pulled the trigger, cops said.
Malik Rogers, 24, who was on parole for previous felony convictions for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault, fired at the cops after he barricaded himself in the bathroom of his home in Wichita, according to the video.
Earlier that day, Rogers had shown up at the home of his 22-year-old girlfriend uninvited and tried to get in through a window before a 3-year-old child let him into the residence on the 500 block of S. Lulu Street, police said. She called police at around 11:30 pm to the restaurant where she worked and told them Rogers had entered her home without permission, punched her and threatened her with a gun. The frightened woman also told cops he attacked her the previous day, grabbing her by the neck and physically assaulting her, before telling them where he lived. The cops then went to the 2600 block of S. Emporia Street to 'verbally negotiate to convince him to submit to an arrest' for 10 to 15 minutes, said Wichita Police Captain Jason Stephens. But Rogers refused. He was much bigger than the two responding officers, Stephens said, and was able to retreat into his bathroom and barricade himself even after he was shocked with a taser gun. 'The officers knew going to that residence, that he was on parole, that he had committed a violent offense with a gun in the previous day,' Stephens said. They continued trying to negotiate with the man before things got physical. 'One of the officers immediately forced entry into the bathroom door and was confronted by Malik Rogers, who was pointing a gun at them,' Stephens said. 'Mr. Rogers discharged that firearm at the officers two times, hitting one of the officers in the right arm and the other officer in the upper right leg.' The two officers retreated and a SWAT team was called. Crisis negotiators attempted to coax Rogers out of the home for about an hour before a single gunshot was heard from within the apartment. Around the same time, police became aware of a livestream Rogers had been carrying out on social media in which he described his attack on the two officers and held his weapon. Rogers was out on parole after serving time for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault for stabbing a 23-year-old man in 2017, according to the Wichita Eagle. Before entering the apartment again, a robot with a camera was deployed into the home, according to the paper, and authorities saw that Rogers was unresponsive. Police raced into the house, but were unable to save Rogers, who had shot himself, police said. Neither officer fired any shots, Stephens said, and both were treated for non life-threatening injuries at the hospital. Both had been with the department for under a year. 'Please pray for them and their families as we deal with this terrible incident on Christmas day,' Police Chief Gordon Ramsay wrote in a Facebook post. 'This tragic incident highlights the dangers police officers face as they work to keep our community safe.'

MEXICAN-NAMED HISPANIC Father allegedly drove 14-year-old son to store to commit murder 
A father and his 14-year-old son have been charged with capital murder in the killings of three teenagers at a convenience store on Dec. 26, according to Garland Police Department in Texas. A fourth teenager was injured in the attack.
33-year-old Richard Acosta has been arrested in connection with the incident after turning himself in to GPD. His bond has been set at $1,000,000.
Police are now searching for 14-year-old Abel Elias Acosta, who allegedly shot and killed three teens and injured another. According to surveillance footage as described by officials, Abel exited his father's pickup truck and opened the door to the convenience store, firing his gun several times and striking the victims. He got back in the truck, which then fled "at a high rate of speed," GPD said in a press release. Abel is described as a "light-skinned Hispanic male with dark hair, brown eyes, approximately 5' 05" in height and weighing around 125 pounds," according to police. Police say the investigation is ongoing. Detectives believe he is evading arrest and officials are asking for the public's assistance. A motive has yet to be discovered, according to officials. The three teenagers killed in the attack have been identified by police as 14-year-old Xavier Gonzalez, 16-year-old Ivan Noyala and 17-year-old Rafael Garcia. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. "The day after Christmas they've lost their loves ones," said Garland Police Chief Jeff Bryan at a Dec. 27 press conference. "Our community wants to know answers." The 15-year-old who was injured has not been identified. He remains in stable condition, according to officials. Officials have charged 32-year-old Tyran Williams of Chicago and 29-year-old Steve Lane also of Chicago, in the shootout that wounded four people, including three women who were innocent bystanders. Another woman was injured when she fractured her ankle fleeing the scene.

On December 23, 2021, at approximately 5:44 p.m., officers with the Oak Brook Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at the Oak Brook Mall. Upon their arrival, officers found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the individuals, later identified as Tyran Williams, had been shot four times. It is alleged that officers found a Glock 9 mm handgun near Williams as they began to treat his gunshot wounds. Following an investigation into the shooting, it is alleged that Williams and Lane were in a verbal altercation near the pretzel store inside the Oak Brook Center Mall when both men pulled out a handgun and began shooting at each other. Authorities indicated that the men knew each other prior to the incident, and that the argument began over a prior social media post made by one of the two men. It is alleged that during the incident, both Lane and Williams fired their weapons resulting in William being struck four times and four innocent bystanders being struck by gunfire. It is further alleged that after the shooting Lane fled the scene. Lane was taken into custody at the mall a short time later following a brief foot pursuit by a Nordstrom Loss Prevention Officer and an Oak Brook Police Officer. A Taurus G2C 9 mm handgun was also found near the Nordstrom store where Lane was running after the shooting. |

GREENFIELD, Ind.–Two men were captured by police after robbing a CVS in Greenfield of prescription medications early Tuesday morning. One of the men was bitten by a police dog after refusing to follow the commands of officers who had tracked him to a creek.
Greenfield Police responded to a 911 call about a robbery at the CVS on North State St., about 2 a.m. Tuesday. The store is open 24/7, said Det. Chuck McMichael, and the men who were holding up the store were behind the counter with the pharmacist.
Before police arrived, the men took off. As cops were nearing the CVS, they saw a white Chevy speeding away down McKenzie Rd. When the officers hit the blue lights the men led them on a short chase, which ended when they crashed at the roundabout at McKenzie and Broadway streets. Jaron K. Griffin, 20, who was the passenger, was captured right away. The driver, Arian L. Craig, 24, was hiding near a creek and was found when K-9 cops from Fortville and New Palestine were brought in to help search. McMichael says he was bitten when he refused to do what police told him to do. He then gave up. The meds that were taken from the CVS were found in the car. Police name different HISPANIC 14-year-old as suspect in Garland shooting, say he's armed and dangerous
GARLAND, Texas — Updated at 6 p.m. with more information from police.
Police have named an alleged shooter in the killing of three teenagers at a convenience store in Garland, and authorities are still searching for the suspect, officials announced in a news release Wednesday.
Police identified the suspect as 14-year-old Abel Elias Acosta and said Acosta should be considered armed and dangerous. Police said detectives believe Acosta is "actively evading capture" and asked for the public's help, according to the news release. Police said his father, Richard Acosta Jr., 33, who was arrested Tuesday, was the getaway driver in the shooting. The shooting happened the day after Christmas. Police on Wednesday said the shooting was spurred by a previous disturbance between Abel Acosta and one of the victims inside the convenience store, though more information was not released. "This is a heinous crime. The mind behind this type of offense...it's so hard to comprehend," Garland police PIO Pedro Barineau told WFAA. "At age 14, if he's willing to do this, we don't know what the future holds. But we know that he's willing to kill." One day later, police said a 14-year-old - a different teen, not Abel Acosta - was in custody and believed to have pulled the trigger. But about 24 hours after announcing the teen's arrest, police reversed course saying new information revealed the teen had direct knowledge of the crime, but they no longer believed him to be the shooter. Detectives obtained a directive to apprehend Abel Acosta, which is ordered by a juvenile court judge to take a child into custody on the request of law enforcement. Garland police said they do not typically release juvenile information but that "due to the nature of the offense and potential risk to the public, the court has authorized the release of his information." A 47-year-old landlord fatally shot his father and his sister days after seeking to have them evicted from their Robbinsdale duplex, according to charges filed Tuesday and other court documents.
Ibn M. Abdullah was charged in Hennepin County District Court with two counts of second-degree intentional murder in connection with the deaths of 74-year-old Marchone Abdullah and his daughter, 55-year-old Crystal M. Abdullah,in their home in the 3700 block of Lake Drive. Abdullah, who lives in the other unit of the side-by-side duplex, remains jailed in lieu of $1.5 million bail ahead of a court appearance Wednesday. Court records do not list an attorney for him. While the charges do not address a motive for the killings, Hennepin County court records show that Ibn Abdullah began eviction proceedings on Dec. 20 against his father and his sister. In February, Crystal Abdullah went to court and forced Ibn Abdullah to replace the toilet, a faucet and smoke detectors, and repair the water heater, according to court records. According to the criminal complaint: Ibn Abdullah went to a brother's home in Brooklyn Park on Sunday and said he shot their father and sister "a few days ago and that there might be a smell," the charges read. He also asked his brother whether he knew anyone who could help "clean up," the charges quoted Ibn Abdullah as saying. Another brother went to the duplex on Lake Drive and located the two family members sitting upright in chairs. Both were shot in the head. The brother immediately called 911. Police officers arrived and detected "an odor consistent with the ... deaths occurring several days prior," the complaint read. Police charge (Black) Pontiac man for allegedly beating his girlfriend's 3-year-old girl to death
OAKLAND COUNTY, MI (WXYZ) — 23-year-old Shean Troy Amerson of Pontiac has been charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse after beating his girlfriend’s 3-year-old daughter to death.
According to police, Oakland County deputies reported to the 1500 block of Grandville Ct. on Dec. 18 after hearing a 3-year-old was unconscious in the home.
When they arrived, they found Aziya was neither breathing nor conscious. Police say she was later transferred to Children’s Hospital in Detroit where she died on Dec. 20. Police say hospital staff told detectives that Aziya had multiple broken ribs in different stages of healing, multiple round wounds on her legs and torso consistent with being burned by a lit cigarette, two black eyes, severe head trauma, and a collapsed lung. “It’s hard to imagine a human being can be so cruel and inhumane,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “This poor tortured child deserved to be treated as a blessing and loved. We will hold the responsible accountable.” Amerson was charged on Christmas day and is being held in the Oakland County Jail without bond. Darius Sessoms, the 25-year-old North Carolina man accused of fatally shooting a 5-year-old boy who was riding his bike, was indicted last week on the charge of first-degree murder, according to a report.
ABC 11 reported that his next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 24.
Cannon Hinnant, 5, was shot and killed in August 2020 in Wilson, N.C. Sessoms and the boy's father were next-door neighbors. Cannon was at his father's home on his bike when he was shot in front of his two sisters, 7 and 8, WRAL-TV reported. One person who said she witnessed the shooting told the station at the time that she was looking out her window and watched Sessoms run to Cannon and shoot him in the head at point-blank range. She said her first reaction was that he was playing with the children. Police said officers responding to a report of a shooting at a mobile home park found the 5-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. Capt. Steve Stroud said officers and emergency personnel performed first aid before the boy was taken to Wilson Medical Center, where he died. "The first thing I see is my son laying on the ground and it crossed my mind that maybe he just fell off his bike. As I got closer to him and I scooped him up in my arms I realized … how horrific it was… I had to scoop my son up and hold him in my arms as blood ran down my arm and all I could do was pray to God," his father told ABC News. Sessoms' parents told WRAL that they were deeply saddened by what happened to Cannon. They said they believe their son was on drugs and having hallucinations at the time of the shooting, the station reported. |

Uwadiegwu was accused of having sexual contact with two patients in two different facilities: Traditions of Deerfield and Otterbein SeniorLife in Maineville. Uwadiegwu was previously indicted on 3 rape charges and 3 charges of gross sexual imposition. The rape charges and one of the gross sexual imposition counts were dropped as part of the plea. Prosecutors sought the maximum sentence. His attorney unsuccessfully argued in court that Uwadiegwu was not a repeat offender and only a “moderate risk.” “As a caregiver, I put empathy in my work,” Uwadiegwu told the judge just before he was sentenced. “It’s me, God and the patient… it never came across my mind at any time. Please, believe me.” Judge Donald Oda, however, described an expert analysis report about Uwadiegwu as unpersuasive. The judge said he agreed with Uwadiegwu that being a caregiver is a very important job. “So, when we have an assault, it’s an assault on our way of life,” Judge Oda told him. A victim’s advocate read a letter written by one of the former patients: “Some people may not remember, but I do.” Authorities are not done with Uwadiegwu. He faces similar charges from two alleged incidents in Butler County, in Hamilton in September 2018 and in Middletown in December 2013. A Butler County grand jury indicted him in November on five charges including rape, two counts of gross sexual imposition, sexual battery and unlawful restraint, court records there show. Hamilton police records allege he was a state-tested nursing assistant when he had sexual contact in a private home in 2018 with a disabled victim who could not resist or give consent due to her condition. The other report, from Middletown police, is from 2013. That victim stated that she was friends with Uwadiegwu and said that he was pushing to become her home health provider when he sexually assaulted her. The U.S. Border Patrol announced on Monday that a man with a previous Capital Murder of a Police Officer or Fireman charge was captured on Christmas.
Hilario Rios Garcia was arrested on Dec. 25 during the evening hours by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The USBP stated that a record check of Rios Garcia revelaed an extensive criminal history, including the aforementioned charge and conviction in June 1993 in Roma. Rios Garcia was allegedly stopped while driving on Farm to Market Road 649 west of Hebbronville. DPS determined that the occupants were involved in a human smuggling case. “Rios Garcia will be prosecuted for his immigration violation and will be turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service,” said the USBP in a statement. |

MEXICAN-named Texas man's alleged Christmas crime spree includes attempted capital murder charge 
A man is in custody following a Christmas crime spree in south Texas, according to police.
Ingleside police received a 911 call just before 10 p.m. Saturday from a man yelling he was going to kill someone. When officers responded to the location the call came from, they heard a man yelling before being ambushed with gunfire, according to a news release.
As officers tried to shield themselves from the gunfire, the suspect exited the residence, struck a neighbor in the head with a weapon while threatening to shoot him, and then stole a vehicle. Surrounding agencies were notified of the incident. A short time later, the stolen vehicle was located at a restaurant in nearby Portland. Investigators determined the suspect stole another vehicle at gunpoint. The second vehicle was found abandoned win the parking lot of a nearby retail store. Charges have been filed in Missouri against the man authorities allege killed 3-year-old Emmanuel Ware.
Timothy Robinson, 33, is Emmanuel's mother's boyfriend, PEOPLE confirms with a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Detectives began investigating Emmanuel's Dec. 10 death after the boy's mother told investigators he had been hit by a car. According to court documents obtained by KMOV, KTVI, and KSDK, Robinson was asked to watch the toddler so that his mother could go to a job interview. Emmanuel's mother returned home just after 2:00 p.m. and discovered her son unconscious on the floor with bruises about his body and several head injuries, the court documents state. Emmanuel's mother told police her boyfriend had allegedly told her he took the boy to a gas station to get cigarettes. According to the court documents, Robinson claimed that while at the gas station, the boy was struck by a car that immediately left. However, an autopsy noted Emmanuel's injuries were not consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Instead, the boy had "a tear in the right lobe of his liver," which caused significant internal bleeding, the court documents state. In addition, police obtained surveillance footage from the gas station, showing Emmanuel was not hit by a car. Robinson is now charged with second-degree felony murder and abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death. He learned of the new charges while already in police custody. The suspect began arguing with the 48-year-old woman about her roommate around 9:10 p.m. Thursday inside an apartment building on East 180th Street in the Bronx, the New York Police Department (NYPD) said Sunday. Shocking video from the encounter first shows the man kicking an apartment door several times. The footage then cuts to the victim speaking with the man before he appears to swipe her across the face. Footage later shows him approaching the woman with what appears to be the blade in his right hand. The man can be seen lunging at his victim and striking her repeatedly. Police said the woman suffered slash wounds to her face, arms and hands before her attacker fled. The victim was taken to a local hospital to have multiple wounds treated. |

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police arrested a woman Monday just before 3:30 a.m. after she reportedly bit an officer in the thigh.
Makayla Jackson, 22, was located in the passenger seat of a black Kia Optima in the parking lot of Roper Park after it had closed. After giving a false name, officers were able to identify her and attempted to arrest her for a previous misdemeanor arrest warrant.
Officers said Jackson then ran from the scene. After pursuing her, LPD said she struggled before biting an officer in the thigh. Officers then used a taser to place Jackson into handcuffs. Jackson was arrested for resisting arrest, third degree assault on officer, obstructing a peace officer and false reporting. |

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Newly obtained court documents by Arizona's Family revealed that Phoenix Police Officer Tyler Moldovan was shot eight times, including once to the head.

Police were first called out to reports of vehicles speeding and doing "donuts" near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road just after 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Callers reported that a Black Dodge Charger and a White Dodge Challenger were the vehicles involved. Officers showed up to find skid marks and smoke in the air but they weren't able to find the vehicle. A few moments later, police were able to find a Black Charger pulled into the parking lot near 15th Avenue and Camelback, where a man, now identified as Essa Williams, was seen jumping the fence into the complex, leaving his vehicle. Court paperwork says that the vehicle had a gun case inside. Phoenix Police created a perimeter to search for Williams after he ran off. Ultimately, authorities were able to find him in a covered patio inside the apartment complex. Officers on the scene reportedly heard Williams say that he was speaking to someone on the phone, telling them that he was "going to jail." The officer who spotted Williams asked him if he had any weapons and he said no. At that point, he pulled a handgun from his waist and shot officer 22-year-old Tyler Moldovan approximately eight times, including to his head. Court paperwork says the Moldovan fell to the ground and was unresponsive after the first shots were fired. Williams reportedly continued firing at Moldovan after he was lying on the ground. It was then that Williams "jumped out of the patio, dropped his handgun, and tried multiple times to pull the injured police officers handgun from his holster," police paperwork said. Another officer ran up to Williams when the suspect allegedly continued to yank and pull Officer Moldovan's handgun from his holster. And just as an officer tried to tackle Williams down, Williams threw himself to the ground and began resisting arrest. After several minutes of trying to arrest him, another officer helped and authorities finally took him into custody. Authorities say another handgun with an extended magazine was also discovered in the patio where Williams was hiding. "His dream was to be a police officer, and you never think, out there trying to serve the community, something like this could happen," said Tyler's uncle, Peter Torneanu. "We're all devastated right now." Torneanu says his nephew is a truly special person. "Tyler has a good heart," said Torneanu. "He's always had a great heart. His goal was to serve the community." He graduated from the police academy in March and just recently started patrolling without a partner. His family and coworkers say he's compassionate, something that comes from a family that serves. His wife is a trauma nurse, and his brother is a firefighter. "They come from a very, very good family," said Torneanu. "Down to earth, just good-hearted people, and you just don't expect these kinds of things to happen to these kinds of people." Torneau is asking the community to pray for the family. "We just know with all the damage that has been done to him that it's not looking good," said Torneanu. "We have a very big God, and we feel very strongly that God can do miracles, and we want to continue to pray for him to make sure that he improves." Following his arrest, Williams made comments asking officers to shoot him, and saying that another person had shot the officer. Court paperwork revealed Williams is facing 1st-degree attempted murder of a law enforcement officer, possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, resisting arrest, and attempted aggravated assault of an officer. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police say two men have been arrested after two people were shot and one was killed in South Birmingham on Christmas Eve morning.
Birmingham Police say officers were dispatched to Marty’s PM on 10th Court South after a shots fired call. There they found a man at the entrance suffering from a gunshot wound, as well as another man injured from a gunshot wound in the parking lot across the street. Police say both men were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. One man, 42-year-old Shaun Rhudy died of his injuries.
Authorities believe management from Marty’s PM did not let 21-year-old Alonzo Johnson II inside due to a past incident. Police say Johnson was then involved in an altercation in the parking lot across the street when shots were fired. Police say Johnson then fled the scene in a car that picked him up. Police say members of the community gave authorities information on the suspect’s vehicle. Officers were later dispatched to I-59 South past the the Arkadelphia Road exit on reports of a vehicle on fire. There, they found the car matched the suspect’s vehicle, where Johnson and 27-year-old Terrill Huey Jr. were taken into custody. Johnson II has been charged with murder and first degree assault, and is being held on bonds totaling $180,000. Huey Jr. was charged with hindering prosecution, and is being held on bonds totaling $30,000. They are both in the custody of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Missouri police arrested a woman accused of killing her boyfriend on Christmas Eve with a sword after the couple allegedly took meth earlier in the day. The Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to a 911 call just after 11:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve for a report of suspicious activity at a home, according to police. They found a deceased man, identified as 34-year-old Harrison Stephen Foster, in the basement of the home with multiple stab wounds. The 911 call allegedly came from 32-year-old Brittany Wilson, who said she stabbed her boyfriend with a sword, according to KFVS. A sword was found on the front lawn and police say Wilson’s clothing was covered in what appeared to be blood. Wilson said the couple had taken methamphetamine earlier on Christmas Eve, according to police. Wilson added to police she believed her boyfriend had several "entities" living inside his body in recent months and claimed he had also been harvesting body parts from other people. She told police she stabbed Foster to set "him free" of the entities. Wilson was arrested and charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action, according to police. Her bond was set at $2 million. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a robbery at a Rite Aid in the 800 block of Lincoln Boulevard.

Four (Black) suspects arrested in connection with killing during ‘follow-home’ robbery, LAPD says
Four men have been arrested in connection with the killing of a man outside a Hollywood restaurant during a "follow-home" robbery, a trend of stick-ups in and around Los Angeles that have increased and sometimes turned violent, authorities said Friday.
The suspects were taken into custody on Tuesday in a series of raids conducted by several law enforcement agencies. They were identified as Jayon Sanders and Joshua Saulsberry, both 21, and Abraham Castillo and Tyree Singleton, both 20, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against Sanders, Castillo and Singleton for murder, robbery and attempted robbery, the LAPD said. Saulsberry is charged with robbery. The arrests stem from the Nov. 23 killing of Jose Ruiz Gutierrez, 23, outside the Bossa Nova restaurant, KCBS-TV reported. Gutierrez was coming to the aid of a woman who was allegedly being robbed when he was fatally shot. During the raids, authorities recovered a Rolex watch, handbags, more than $30,000 in cash, gang paraphernalia, a handgun, a replica handgun and two vehicles used during the crime, the LAPD said. Fox News has reached out to the police department for comment. The follow-home robberies have prompted the LAPD to dedicate a task force to investigate the crimes, which occur when suspects target victims in prime locations and follow them home or to a secluded area to rob them. Locations like the city's Jewelry District and the Melrose Avenue, which has seen a series of brazen robberies, have been places where many of the crimes originate. Sanders, Castillo and Singleton are being held on more than $2 million bail. Saulsberry had his set at $160,000. |

Police in South Florida announced Thursday that they have arrested a real estate agent suspected of hunting homeless people.
Willy Suarez Maceo, 25, was initially jailed early Thursday morning on a trespassing charge, and Interim Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales said during a news conference that they were planning to charge him with a count of murder and a count of attempted murder.
Maceo is suspected in two shootings that occurred Tuesday night about two hours apart, police said. One victim survived, but the other didn’t. Detectives said video surveillance footage placed Maceo’s car at one of the attacks, and then ballistics testing showed the same gun was used in both attacks. A Stearns County grand jury added a second murder charge Wednesday against a St. Cloud woman accused of stabbing her 3-month-old son, wrapping him in a plastic garbage bag and putting him in a dumpster.
Fardoussa O. Abdillahi, 26, who was already charged with intentional second-degree murder, is now also charged with premeditated first-degree murder, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday. The latest charge carries a possible life imprisonment penalty.
Abdillahi is being held at Stearns County jail in lieu of a $2 million unconditional bail or $1 million bail with conditions. Abdillahi's attorney, Kenneth L. Wilson, has notified the court that he intends to argue a mental illness or cognitive impairment defense. The Minnesota Department of Human Services' forensic division will conduct the examination of her mental condition. Two women assaulted and robbed a 75-year-old woman on a Manhattan sidewalk on Tuesday night, police said.
The suspects first grabbed the elderly victim and shoved her to the ground outside an apartment building on East 38th Street near First Avenue in Murray Hill at about 11:20 p.m., according to the NYPD.
As the victim was down, according to cops, the robbers stole her $800 Gucci belt bag, iPhone, AirPods, bank cards and $10 cash. Police said the victim was not injured in the attack. A 21-year-old man who allegedly tortured and killed his girlfriend in their Thousand Oaks apartment was arrested early Christmas Eve, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies responded to an emergency call at about 1:18 a.m. Friday on the 600 block of McCloud Avenue, where they found the woman unresponsive and suffering from serious injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
First responders attempted lifesaving measures on the 24-year-old woman but ultimately pronounced her dead at the scene. The investigation in the death of young Kamarie Holland is still unfolding in Russell County, Alabama and in Columbus, Georgia - a Tuesday press conference with Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor did reveal which state law enforcement believes the child’s murder happened in.
“He was placed in custody and has been charged with capital murder in Alabama,” said Sheriff Heath Taylor. “We will handle the case moving forward and prosecution in the death of Kamarie.” The location determines which state will handle the murder case - each state has different laws and processes in the court system. The murder of 5-year-old Kamarie qualifies as a capital murder charge in Alabama - first because she was under the age of 14. More charges could be added and it’s not unusual to see a case where multiple capital murder charges could be added for one death in Alabama. “One is the victim is under 14. We have charged him with that currently. I suspect we will charge him with capital murder during kidnapping and potentially capital murder during rape.” Sheriff Heath Taylor added Tuesday that because it is believed that Williams raped the child. That would also constitute a capital murder charge. A murder in the commission of a kidnapping would also bring a capital murder charge. The case will first be presented to a grand jury - before later being turned over to a jury trial. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Two brothers were arrested and charged with first-degree murder and robbery after a 65-year-old woman was killed during an attempted robbery at the Haygood Shopping Center's fuel station Monday.
At around 5:13 p.m., police responded to the gas station for reports of a person with gunshot wounds. When they arrived on the scene, they found 65-year-old Annie May Smith suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite receiving medical attention from officers and EMS personnel, Smith died at the scene. Wednesday morning, homicide detectives with the Virginia Beach Police Department arrested 39-year-old Chesapeake man Michael Devonte White and his brother, 19-year-old Darius Cornell White, on charges of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Court documents list the brothers as living together and state that Michael has eight pervious misdemeanor convictions and one felony conviction and Darius has five previous misdemeanor convictions and four felony convictions. Under the nature and circumstance of the offense in the court documents for this incident, they say the brothers are accused of robbing the victim of a wallet and its contents and then shooting the victim three times in the chest, causing death. A black ex-felon Tulsa man accused of shooting and killing two people at a biker bar in Bartlesville on Monday has turned himself in, police announced.
Gregory Rogers, 51, was developed as a suspect in the case after Bartlesville police responded to a call that shots had been fired about 8:30 p.m. at the Kickstand Saloon, 1810 S.W. Frank Phillips Blvd.
There they found two bar employees who had been shot, Austin Standeford and Van Parson, and “several” witnesses, Bartlesville Police Chief Tracy Roles said. Police learned that an altercation had arisen at the bar, which bills itself as Oklahoma’s destination for bikers from all walks of life, and that a singular shooter had fatally wounded the victims before fleeing. Standeford, 40, and Parson, 29, died while being transported from the scene to a local hospital, Roles said. Rogers surfaced in Tulsa about 11:30 p.m. while seeking treatment at a hospital for a gunshot wound to his forearm, Roles said, but he left about four hours later before receiving treatment for the wound. Bartlesville detectives, in conjunction with the Tulsa Police Department, served an arrest warrant on Rogers’ Tulsa home, but he was not inside, Roles said. Rogers turned himself in at the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, agency spokeswoman Casey Roebuck said. He was arrested on two complaints of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and is awaiting transfer to Bartlesville. The cause of the saloon altercation is unclear. Standeford reportedly was working as a bartender at the time, and Parson was off-shift but present as a patron. Both are affiliated with the Mongols Motorcycle Club, Roles said. Roles said Rogers does not appear to be affiliated with any club, and police are unsure why he was in Bartlesville, but detectives are working to corroborate other witnesses’ many sides of the story and will soon interview him. GETTYSBURG — A Dayton man is being held in the Darke County Jail following a shooting in Gettysburg Sunday.
On Dec. 19, 2021, at 4:19 p.m., Darke County Deputies, Gettysburg Fire and Rescue and Darke County Coroner’s Office were dispatched to a residence at the 100 block of W. Main Street in Gettysburg on a report of a shooting.
Preliminary investigation revealed Layton White, 29, of Union City, Ind. was in an altercation with Eric James Martin, 27, of Dayton, Ohio. Eyewitnesses observed Martin shoot White in front of the residence. Immediately following the shooting, Martin left the scene. White succumbed to his injuries at the scene. At 4:23 a.m., Darke County Dispatch notified surrounding law enforcement agencies to search for Martin and his vehicle. A short time later, at 4:38 a.m., the Darke County Sheriff’s Office was notified Martin and his vehicle were located by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and Troy Police Department in Troy, Ohio. Darke County Detectives filed a complaint charging Martin with murder and he is currently incarcerated at the Darke County Jail. Other charges may be pending. According to court records, Martin has a prior criminal history in Darke County, with charges including drug abuse, assault and domestic violence. He was sentenced to a minimum of two years imprisonment in December 2020 on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony. He was resentenced to community service in March 2021. The three were found dead on Sunday, Dec. 19 at a home in the 600 block of Union Avenue in Belvidere. According to court records, Smith was sentenced to four years of prison time in an Illinois Correctional facility in March 2017 for aggravated robbery. He was released in July 2021. Police say several pieces of evidence were seized from the residence in Huntley. The investigation into Smith’s connection with the triple homicide is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to come forward. Fulton, N.Y. — A Syracuse man is the second person arrested in the botched robbery that killed one man and injured another in Fulton, New York State Police said.
Norman Newsome, 38, was charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder and first-degree robbery, police announced Tuesday.
State troopers found Newsome in Salt Point in Dutchess County Monday, police said. He is being held in the Oswego County Jail. Two men with bandanas over their faces pushed their way in behind the couple when they entered the home, she said. Smith’s girlfriend said she heard one gunshot and saw Smith fall to the ground. She told police she ran to a garage and heard one to two more gunshots. She heard a woman and two males inside the house, she told police. She said she heard the woman ask if they got his jewelry and to just kick down the door. She told police she came out of the garage to find Smith and Bardin had been shot. One other person has been arrested in connection to the shooting. Britani Yerdon, (white female) 29, of Syracuse, was arrested and charged with the same charges as Newsome earlier in the month, police said. Yerdon told police that after the shooting she searched the home wanting to steal drugs, a state police investigator said in the court papers. A Sacramento man has been convicted of first-degree murder in connection with a shooting at a birthday party in Rancho Cordova in September 2019.
Faron Mello was also convicted on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, Sacramento County Deputy District Attorney Kristen Anderson said on Wednesday. On Sept. 7, 2019, friends and family had gathered for a birthday celebration on Lincoln Village Drive when a fight that was sparkesd by earlier threats made on social media broke out in the parking lot. The victim was shot in the chest and the hand. He identified Mello as the shooter just before he died, Anderson said. Mello was taken into custody in Medford, Oregon, the next day. (Black) Winston-Salem man charged in murder of baby boy who died from blunt force trauma, police say
A Winston- Salem man accused of killing a 23-month-old boy was arrested Thursday.
Police and the Winston-Salem Fire Department were called just before 4:30 a.m. on July 27, to the 1200 block of Peachtree Street. Officials found the baby, Thomas Ryan Jones Thompson in need of medical help. Despite “extensive medical efforts,” Thomas was pronounced dead.
In the early stages of the investigation, detectives learned that the baby was being taken care of by Fernanda Lavon Jones before he died. Officials said the two are not related. The autopsy showed Thomas died as a result of blunt force trauma. Shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, Jones was arrested at his home. He is charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious physical injury and murder. |

Yesterday evening, an 86-year-old woman from the Glenbrooke Community returned home and was getting her mail when a man approached her from behind, pulled out a knife, and demanded her car keys. The suspect took the car keys and hit the woman, causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect then left in the woman’s car. Officers quickly arrived, cared for the woman, and searched the surrounding area for the suspect and vehicle.We notified our neighboring agencies. Later that night, Sacramento Police officers located the woman’s car occupied by two people in the south Sacramento area. Sacramento Police arrested a 23-year-old man who was sitting in the driver’s seat of the woman’s car at the time officers found the car for being in possession of the victim’s stolen car. Through the course of the investigation, EGPD detectives concluded the suspect Sacramento PD arrested for being in possession of the victim’s stolen car was indeed the same suspect who was responsible for the crimes against the woman that occurred in Elk Grove. The suspect, 23-year-old Markee Pettaway McDowell, who was still in custody at the main jail was add-booked on charges of carjacking, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and elder abuse. HISPANIC NJ Man Charged With 1st-Degree Murder in Toddler's Death 
A 30-year-old New Jersey man has been arrested on a charge of first-degree murder in the case of a 2-year-old child who died about two months ago, prosecutors in Passaic County said Thursday.
Ricard Rivera, of Paterson, also is accused of child endangerment in the Oct. 20 death of the unidentified toddler. Ricardo was taken into custody a day ago. Autopsy results on the child determined the death to be a homicide and the cause to be blunt force trauma. An investigation was launched, leading to Rivera's arrest. Prosecutors didn't give additional information on his relationship to the child. Rivera faces up to life in state prison with no possibility of parole if convicted on the top charge. He is being held at the Passaic County Jail pending a hearing for pretrial detention. Information on a possible attorney for him wasn't available. Richard LaBar, 58, was killed while delivering a pepperoni pizza and cinnamon sticksThree Pennsylvanians were sentenced to prison Monday for the 2017 killing of a Domino's pizza delivery driver who was working extra shifts to make money for the holidays. Israel Berrios, Carolina Carmona, and Salvador Roberts pleaded guilty in October in connection with the death of 58-year-old Richard LaBar, who was fatally shot around 1 a.m. on East Stroudsburg University's campus on Dec. 11, 2017. "What these three did was utterly disgusting," Monroe County First Assistant District Attorney Michael Mancuso said in a press release. "The case impacted the community significantly." Prosecutors said LaBar was the victim of a setup by the trio. Police said Carmona, then 30, called in an order for a pepperoni pizza and cinnamon sticks, the Pocono Record reported. Carmona waited in front of the door of the ROTC building just off campus for the delivery while Berrios, then 17, hid in the nearby bushes with a 410-gauge sawed-off shotgun. Prosecutors alleged that LaBar had arrived and was attempting to confirm the pizza order with Carmona when Berrios came out of the bushes, pointed the shotgun at him and demanded money. LaBar struggled with Berrios but was knocked to the ground. Prosecutors said Berrios shot LaBar in the face then he and Carmona robbed him of $100. The couple then ran to Roberts, then 21, who had parked his Mercedes two blocks away. According to the Pocono Record, a previous pizza delivery robbery, witness testimony and surveillance footage helped police identify the trio as suspects. Police also found the shotgun used in the slaying at Berrios' home and a pair of women's shoes with pizza stains on them, the Record reported. BELTON, Mo. — A Belton man has been charged with first-degree murder and several other charges in connection to a suspicious death Saturday night.
Michael H. Tate, 57, also faces charges of armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a firearm, and tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution.
Tate is currently being held with no bond. On Dec. 18, officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of N. Scott Ave. after a reported death. Police later determined that Tate was the one who called 911, court documents say. Officers found a deceased 45-year-old woman who had been shot inside the residence when the arrived. The woman was later identified as Mattie Eisenbrant from Belton. Police say that Eisenbrant was Tate’s girlfriend. When Tate called 911, he initially told police he arrived at the apartment and found the front door open and Eisenbrant dead, court documents say. Police did not find any signs of forced entry, records say. During an initial police interview, Tate told detectiveshe had previously served time in prison for murder, wasn’t supposed to have a weapon and gave consent to search his DNA, cellphone and vehicle. But while searching his cellphone, court records say detectives found Tate had been searching web sites for how to remove gunshot residue from your body. During another police interview, Tate told officers he found a notebook where he believed Eisenbrant had written she was romantically interested in another man. Charging documents say he confronted her about it, and they got into an argument. He admitted to detectives that he got a gun from the closet and shot the woman, first in the pelvis area and then again in the head, court documents say. Tate told police he left the apartment, gave the gun to an associate and got rid of the shell casings and his clothing, according to charging documents. A mother in Tennessee has been convicted in the violent killings of four of her five children. Shelby County Criminal Court Judge James Lammey Jr. on Tuesday found Shanynthia "Shaitan" Gardner guilty on a slew of charges—including four counts of first-degree murder—for fatally stabbing and slitting the throats of her young kids, rejecting the 34-year-old’s insanity defense, the district attorney’s office announced.

Gresham police searching for (Black) murder suspect in slaying of 17 year old
Police in Gresham are asking for the public’s help in apprehending a murder suspect accused of fatally shooting a 17-year-old boy earlier this year.
Gresham police obtained an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Isaac Cortez Bynum Jr. He is wanted on second-degree murder allegations, police said in a news release.
Medical responders found Seneca Xavier Alexander suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a car stopped near Southeast Division Street and 182nd Avenue shortly after 7:40 p.m. on Aug. 24, according to police. He was taken to a hospital but died soon after, police said. Officers responded minutes before Alexander was found to reports of shots fired in the area of Northeast Ninth Street and Hood Avenue. They found evidence of a shooting but no victim. La’Braye Franklin, Seneca Alexander’s brother, was killed in a February shooting in Phoenix, Arizona. While living in the Portland area, Franklin spoke publicly about his experiences with gang violence in his neighborhood and was one of three youths wounded in a gang-related shooting near North Portland’s Rosemary Anderson High School in 2014. Bynum was convicted of unlawful use of a weapon in 2017 and sentenced to three years of probation in Multnomah County. He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge in Lane County last year and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years of probation. |

Federal police interviewed Flores Guya, who initially denied wrongdoing but then admitted to recording people using the restroom over the past two hours. Officers examined the camera roll on his cellphone and found one video showing the “interior of the Crissy Field East Beach parking lot restroom and an individual using the urinal where the exposed male genitals were visible,” prosecutors said in court records. Video of the assault is hard to watch, but police say it ultimately helped officers track down the two suspects. “This was a horrific attack,” one man said.
Jenkintown police have identified two suspects as 37-year-old Charles Woodson and 25-year-old September Wingfield. Both are from the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia. Cellphone video from last Thursday shows the two dragging a woman out of her car on Old York Road before punching and stomping on her repeatedly.

Syracuse, NY — A Syracuse boy quietly answered “Yes, sir” to murder, robbery and burglary charges Monday in the brutal January slaying of Eva Fuld, 84, inside the elderly woman’s Syracuse apartment.
Jahkim Robinson, who was 14 at the time, pleaded guilty to all four charges in the indictment stemming from the attack on the elderly woman that left her dead from 43 stab wounds. Jahkim has a chance to be paroled from prison before his 20th birthday. Or, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars. The extraordinarily wide range of punishments stems from special rules allowing 14-year-old killers much earlier parole hearings than adults. In Jahkim’s case, he’s hoping to get his first parole hearing in five years. At worst, he’ll go before the board after nine years. By comparison, if Jahkim were 16 years old or older, the law wouldn’t allow for him to get a parole hearing until he’d spent 15 years in prison. Prosecutor Joseph Coolican asked a judge Monday to sentence Jahkim to the full nine years before his first parole hearing. Defense lawyer William Sullivan has spent months — and made another pitch Monday — trying to convince the judge to go for the minimum, five-year sentence before a chance at parole. Under the terms of Monday’s plea, it’ll ultimately be up to County Court Judge Matthew Doran to decide when Jahkim gets his first parole hearing. He ordered Jahkim, who remains in custody at the county’s Hillbrook Detention Center, to return to court in March for the judge’s decision. PELHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Pelham Police announced an arrest in the shooting death of an off-duty Birmingham firefighter Monday afternoon.
Police confirmed Aristola Devinci Jenkins is charged with murder in the fatal shooting of 46-year-old Christopher Lee Easter. The shooting took place on West Stonehaven Circle around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Jenkins remains in the Shelby County Jail pending bond. Capt. Bryan Harrell of Birmingham Fire and Rescue released the following statement on Easter: “We are saddened to announce that tragically yesterday afternoon we lost one of our own. Firefighter Christopher Easter was a 18-year vet of BFRS. He was 46 years old. On behalf of our Fire Chief, our deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and fellow coworkers. All questions and details of his death should be forwarded to the Pelham Police Department. This is the official media advisory from Boca Raton PD: “On Saturday, December 18, 2021 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Boca Raton Police responded to a residence along Glouchester Street in reference to a welfare check. The caller requested a welfare check on her adult daughter (victim) after she received strange text messages from her number but was unable to reach her. The victim went to the above residence to pick up her child from her child’s father but had not returned. Officers contacted the child’s father who provided information on the whereabouts of the victim and child, which further raised officers’ concern. During the investigation, the victim’s vehicle was found unattended in a parking lot near the residence. The vehicle was parked haphazardly and the victim’s keys and purse were on the front seat. A search of the area was conducted and exigency was established for officers to enter and check the residence for the victim and child. Officers found the victim deceased inside a bedroom with a wound to her chest. The child was not inside the residence but was later located safe at a relative’s house. Boca Raton Police detectives conducted interviews and gathered evidence. During an interview with the child’s father, he admitted to shooting the mother of his child in the chest during an argument. He then moved her vehicle and texted people from her phone to buy himself time. The child was not present at the time of the incident. As a result of the investigation, the child’s father was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder with a Firearm.” Egbert appeared in court Monday morning. (Black) Pearland man charged with capital murder, was out on bond in Harris County
LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KIAH) — Police arrested a man they believe was involved in the June 11 murder of a man who was killed during a robbery.
Devan Jordon of Pearland, 21, was arrested Monday and has been charged with capital murder. He was arrested in Harris County and is waiting to be magistrated before being transferred to the Galveston County Jail. His bond is at $1 million.
Police believe Jordon shot and killed Jeffery Johnson after he and his wife were followed home from The Capital Grille on Westheimer in Houston. During the investigation, League City detectives said they identified a white Mercedes SUV which had been seen in the area the night of the murder and was linked to other crimes. The vehicle had been rented by Devan Jordon, investigators said. They also said they were able to place Jordon in the area of the murder, along with recovering DNA evidence at the scene of the crime. Bail was denied Saturday for a Chicago police officer charged in the fatal shooting of his child’s mother during an off-duty encounter earlier this week inside a Galewood neighborhood apartment on the Northwest Side.
Pierre Tyler, 29, who faces one count of first-degree murder, was relieved of police powers soon after Andris Wofford was found dead Thursday, authorities said. Tyler and Wofford, also 29, were dating and had a 9-month-old child togetherCook County prosecutors said during a bond hearing. The couple had one prior documented domestic dispute, but charges were never filed in that case, according to prosecutors. During their relationship, Tyler had a second child with another woman, which led to an argument Dec. 5 when Wofford learned he had a pending child support hearing, prosecutors said. The next day, Wofford, thinking Tyler had secretly married the mother of his other child, decided to confront Tyler, telling several family members she was going to do so, prosecutors said. About 4 p.m. Wednesday, Tyler went to Wofford’s apartment building in the 2100 block of North Nashville, with surveillance video showing him walking in the front door of her unit, prosecutors said. Attorney claims (Black) Norwalk murder suspect (with African first name) has an alibi, but state says there isn’t ‘any merit to it’
STAMFORD — A criminal defense attorney claims a client accused of slaying a Norwalk man in 2010 couldn’t have committed the crime because he was visiting the hospital at the time of the homicide.
Ibo Boone, a 35-year-old Waterbury man (with AFRICAN first name), was arrested in September 2017 and charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Michael “Mizzy” Robinson in the area of South Main and Grove streets on Oct. 29, 2010.
Police claimed at the time of the arrest that Boone allegedly killed Robinson in connection to a back-and-forth wave of violence among rival street gangs in South Norwalk. But Boone’s attorney, Phillip Russell, claims police nabbed the wrong guy. Russell said during a remote disposition hearing Monday out of Stamford Superior Court that Boone couldn’t have been the gunman because he was visiting a woman who was giving birth at Norwalk Hospital at the same time Robinson was killed miles away. Russell said his client, who cooperated with the Norwalk police investigation, and two other witnesses present at Norwalk Hospital that day told police as far back as 2010 that Boone was with them at the time of the homicide. He said those two witnesses are prepared to testify if the case goes to trial. Russell also claims that he has video evidence from Norwalk Hospital on the day in question which places Boone there at the time of the homicide across town. Law enforcement officials arrested 39-year-old Brent Brown in connection with the disappearance of Madelyn Allen, a 19-year-old Snow College student from Ephraim. He now faces charges of obstruction of justice, aggravated kidnaping, rape and object rape.
Investigators learned that Allen has been struggling with depression and anxiety, and that she used dating apps. A search of her phone records revealed text message exchanges of a violent sexual nature, according to the affidavit. While police were looking for Allen, she was at Brown's home in Loa, nearly 90 miles away, where, according to the court records, the relationship between the college student and her date became nonconsensual and violent. During a subsequent search of the residence, police found Allen alive in the coal room in the cellar, naked and covered in coal. Under questioning, Brown allegedly admitted to meeting Allen in a slave domination fetish group on KIK, [what is KIK?] and picking her up on December 13. Allen said that after Allen brought her to his home in Loa, he made her strip naked and prohibited her from putting her clothes back on for the entire duration of her captivity. The 19-year-old student claimed that her alleged captor raped her several times a day, even though she did not want to have sex with him, and that he once choked her. |
