(Black) Man on bail for 2 felonies had pistol at hospital where his girlfriend was being treated for gunshot wound, prosecutors say (She allegedly told police he shot her.) Prosecutors this week charged a convicted felon with having a loaded handgun at an Englewood hospital where his girlfriend was being treated for a gunshot wound that she told police and doctors he inflicted on her. The man, 27-year-old Charles Rounds, was on bail for two felony cases at the time of the alleged shooting โ another gun case and a case that accuses him of repeatedly forcing a 15-year-old girl to have sex with him as he held her against her will for two weeks. Rounds had paid $4,000 to get out of jail on the pending cases, prosecutors said. Police went to St. Bernard Hospital after Roundsโ girlfriend sought help for a gunshot wound around 11 a.m. Monday, according to Assistant Stateโs Attorney Darryl Auguste and CPD. The woman told police and hospital workers that Rounds beat her up and shot her after an argument โ and she warned that he carries a gun, Auguste said. Then, she stopped cooperating with investigators. Cops pulled a picture of Rounds from a law enforcement database and realized he was standing in the hospitalโs ambulance entrance with a white bag, Auguste said. Rounds allegedly dropped the bag and ran when police approached him. He was arrested after a short foot chase, according to Auguste. As police walked Rounds back to the hospital, a passer-by picked up the white bag and put it into a backpack. Rounds allegedly yelled that the bag was his. Cops took the bag back from the witness and found a loaded handgun with a laser sight attached inside, Auguste said. Prosecutors charged Rounds with being a felon in possession of a weapon and misdemeanor domestic battery. They did not charge him with shooting the woman as she refused to cooperate. Auguste said Rounds has two pending felony cases. In one, Rounds is charged with Class X armed habitual criminal. Prosecutors said Rounds ditched a loaded handgun as police chased him on the South Side in February 2020. At the time, he was on bond for another case in which heโs accused of holding a teenage girl against her will, abusing her, and forcing her to have sex over a period of two weeks, Auguste said. Rounds invited the girl to his home after meeting her at a party on October 25, 2018, according to Auguste. He then held the teen against her will for two weeks, forced her to have sex three times, punched her, pulled her hair, and burned her with a cigarette lighter, Auguste said. The girl subsequently outcried to her volleyball coach and her mother, according to Auguste. She has visible burn marks and a bruised eye, he said. Third (black) man found guilty on all charges for murder of little (black) girl RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The third man accused of killing 9-year-old Markiya Dickson was found guilty on all charges by a jury during a two-day. The jury delivered the verdict shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Jesus Turner was found guilty of first-degree murder, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. โI ainโt happy nor sad. Iโm just here now because it donโt bring my baby back home...Going through this trial - all three of these trials - thatโs been hard. You have to re-live the same thing over and over, detail to detail. But I re-live it every day, but Iโm just glad this part of it is over,โ Markiyaโs father, Mark Whitfield, said. Quinshawn Betts and Jermaine Davis were previously found guilty of second-degree murder, malicious wounding and firearm charges. There was close to an hour delay for closing arguments after the judge denied the defenseโs motion to throw the case out. Turnerโs defense argued the witnesses, in this case, were not credible. The commonwealth says credibility is up to the jury to decide. On Tuesday, there was a key witness for the prosecution who was not cooperative during testimonyโhe actually said โI told you I didnโt want to be here.โ When testimony continued Wednesday, the jury heard from Richmond police detectives, a forensic firearms expert, the medical examiner and a young man who saw three men with guns in Carter Jones Parkโhe testified to applying pressure to Markiyaโs wound before he and his family helped her dad get Markiya to the hospital. โPut the guns down because yโall ainโt hitting your targets, youโre hitting innocent babies. HISPANIC Man charged with shooting tourist, killing passerby while AWOL on gun case, prosecutors say Last June 30, Chicago police pursued a car allegedly used in a shooting earlier in the day. After the vehicle crashed, all of its occupants bailed out and ran. Cops arrested one of them, Angel Ayala and allegedly found a loaded AR-15 rifle behind the seat he had been riding in. But prosecutors declined to file a felony gun charge in the case. Instead, Ayala was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct, and he went home from the police station on a recognizance bond, CPD records show. Ayala, 22, went AWOL and never showed up for a single court date, prosecutors said Saturday as they charged him with shooting a tourist and murdering a passerby during last weekendโs Puerto Rican Day festivities. Assistant Stateโs Attorney James Murphy said a carload of Milwaukee residents who came to Chicago to enjoy Puerto Rican Day was riding in the 3300 block of West North Avenue as several people walked around their car last Saturday evening. Ayala, wearing a purple sweatshirt, white pants, and sporting โpoofy hair,โ threw up Latin King hand gestures and demanded to know where the carload of Milwaukeeans was from, Murphy said. The 20-year-old then pulled out a gun and began shooting at the visitorsโ car, striking a 23-year-old male passenger in the thigh, according to Murphy. Another round flew across the street and struck 37-year-old Nichole Osbourne in her back as she walked with her husband, Murphy said. Osbourne instantly fell to the ground. Osborneโs husband, Brenndon Struk, wrote a detailed account of her slaying on GoFundMe this week. โI stopped talking with 911 and held Nicholeโs cheek and asked basic questions. She wasnโt responding. I started to panic, so I asked her to say anything. I cupped her cheek with my only free hand and looked her in the eyesโฆthatโs when I lost it. BLACK-ON-WHITE: BLACK Suspect in shooting of WHITE Daytona Beach officer, Othal Wallace, captured in a Georgia treehouse Othal "O'Zone" Wallace, the man accused of shooting a Daytona Beach police officer in the head this week, was captured early Saturday morning while hiding in a tree house east of Atlanta, Georgia. Police Chief Jakari Young said at an early Saturday morning press conference that a law enforcement taskforce, including local, state and federal agencies, captured Wallace at about 2:30 a.m. in a remote area in DeKalb County, Georgia. The 3-acre property were Wallace was found is affiliated with the NFAC, which stands for the Not F-ing Around Coalition, a Black nationalist paramilitary organization, Young said. "Othal Wallace was located hiding in a tree house," Young said. "In the tree house with Wallace was multiple flash bangs, rifle plates, body armor, two rifles, two handguns and several boxes of ammunition." Wallace, 29, is accused of shooting Daytona Beach Police Officer Jason Raynor in the head Wednesday night. Wallace faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer and will be extradited to Volusia County. Othal Wallace captured Daytona Beach Police officers were present when Wallace was arrested. They locked Officer Raynor's handcuffs on Wallace. Young said Wallace stated when he was captured: " 'You guys know who I am. You know what Iโm capable of and it could have been a lot worse.' " Young said he woke Raynor's family to tell them about the arrest. "As you can imagine there was a huge sigh of relief," Young said. "And I'm hoping they can get a few hours of sleep finally. Now they can just solely focus on Officer Raynor and his recovery." Young credited timing and surveillance and technology for the peaceful arrest despite Wallace's cache of weapons. Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young details the arrest and capture of suspect Othal Wallace in a Georgia treehouse during an early morning press conference Young also said that while police received lots of tips, it was the surveillance and technology that led them to Wallace. He said no one qualified for the reward for Wallace's captured which on Friday had been doubled to $200,000. There were four other people on the property where Wallace was captured, Young said. The property also contained two structures and a trailer besides the tree house. He said he did not know what charges the other four may face or whether they were members of the NFAC militia. He said a large arsenal of weapons was found in the main residence. Young said he did not know if the weapon used in the officer's shooting had been recovered. The chief also provided an update on Raynor's condition as of Friday. Raynor, 26, is being treated at Halifax Health Medical Center. "There were very positive signs of improvement," Young said. "He still has a ways to go. But basically from his condition right now they feel comfortable moving forward with more testing because theyโve determined that heโs now strong enough to endure more testing. Tierny REAL News Network Updates Othal Wallace, wanted for shooting a police officer in the head in Daytona Beach, was arrested after he was found hiding in a treehouse on a 3 acre property near Atlanta that is owned by the "black supremacist" militia called NFAC. The "Not Fucking Around Coalition" is a black paramilitary organization in the United States that wants to replace the police. "Othal Wallace was located hiding in a tree house with multiple flash bangs, rifle plates, body armor, two rifles, two handguns and several boxes of ammunition." When arrested, Wallace, who has a long rap sheet with a history of domestic violence told police: "You guys know who I am. You know what I'm capable of and it could have been a lot worse." Governor DeSantis said: "The suspect in the vicious shooting of Police Officer Jason Raynor was apprehended by Georgia police at a black nationalist paramilitary encampment. There is no place for hate in Florida. Our law enforcement will be protected. Justice will be swift." I'm guessing the FBI has already labeled this guy a "white supremacist" for their records! Judge Cahill denied Chauvin a new trial and sentenced Officer Derek Chauvin to 22.5 years in prison for the death of George Floyd - who died of a fentanyl overdose & heart failure. That's 10 more years than the recommended guideline. That's 10 more years than the 12.5 years that they gave (SOMALI) Officer Mohamed Noor for the EXACT same three charges after he accidentally shot (White Female Citizen) Justine Damond in the stomach in Minnesota. It took over 8 months for Noor to be charged, nobody burned down the city in her name, nobody intimidated witnesses or the jury or the judge, the media didnโt report much on it, and Noor only received a sentence of 12.5 years. Total double standard. IMHO, neither officer should have been charged with murder. Both cases were made about race and neither case was about race. This is all about creating race riots, defunding & gutting the police and creating an environment where no sane person would consider law enforcement as a career. We will be left to defend ourselves from mob rule & Biden's militarized Federal Gestapo. Why is Comrade Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, so anxious to remove white soldiers from the military & feminize America's fighting forces & why is Biden so anxious to unite Communist China, North Korea, Russia & Iran against us. It's obvious both men are in the pocket of Communist China. Did you know that the combined armies of China, North Korea, Russia & Iran are nearly four times the size of the United States? Think about that. |
(white) Woman accused of assisting in violent robberies, murder by black lover HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police have charged a Baytown woman in connection to several violent crimes that targeted people shopping and eating in the Galleria area. Sarah Seay, 30, is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity. She is accused of conspiring to commit aggravated robbery. During one robbery, one man was killed. "These are egregious allegations in this warrant," a hearing officer told Seay, who is 7-months pregnant, in court Friday night. Her bond was set at $50,000. According to court documents, Seay used the Turo app to rent cars that two brothers - one of whom is the father of her (illegitimate mixed-race) children - used to rob people of hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry, cash and other items. Seay rented Cadillacs, an Audi and a Mercedes so that they would blend in when following victims home, according to investigators. Court records tie those rentals to at least four armed robberies dating back to May 7 and one fatal shooting along Lester Street on May 27. Josh Sandoval, 28, was the victim. "You're speaking to a family that is in shock," said Ashley Prince, Sandoval's cousin. His family gathered by video conference Friday night to talk about the loss and also what police call "jugging crimes" that have disrupted so many people's lives. "He wasn't a stranger to no one. That was the type of person he was. He just enjoyed life," said his mother, Glinda Martin. His family gathered by video conference Friday night to talk about the loss and also what police call "jugging crimes" that have disrupted so many people's lives. Houston police have been chipping away at the violent robbery crews with undercover operations and surveillance. In Seay's case, the detective reviewed rental agreements and vehicle tracking to learn that the cars that were used were at both her apartment and the victims' locations, court records stated. "This just a bigger part of what's going on in Houston," said Omar Sandoval, Josh's brother. "So many deaths in Houston. It is ridiculous. My brother is a statistic." "If these girls are helping these guys, they need to go to jail, just like they do," said Queena Simmons, a family friend. Josh's family await a murder charge. BLACK-ON-WHITE: (Black) Virginia man charged in 1994 cold case murder of (White) woman at Denver motel DENVER โ A 58-year-old Virginia man has been extradited back to Denver to face charges in the December 1994 cold case murder of a 36-year-old woman. Steven Cumberbatch, 58, has been charged by Denver prosecutors with two counts of first-degree murder in the killing of 36-ear-old Rita Desjardine at the Broadway Plaza Motel nearly 27 years ago. A worker at the motel had gone to check on Desjardine on Dec. 6 but thought she was only sleeping. The next day, when workers again got no answer from her room at the motel, they again went inside and investigated further, and found her unclothed in the bed, with visible bruising, swelling and blood, according to an affidavit for Cumberbatchโs arrest. Police investigators also found after arriving that a leg had been broken off inside the hotel room and that there were both men and womenโs clothes inside the room. They also pulled a palm print and a finger print from blood on the bedโs bottom sheet and found evidence on a bottle of gin in the room. The medical examiner found Desjardineโs cause of death to by asphyxia by smothering and also pulled swabs from her body, according to the affidavit. As police investigated, a witness told them they had knocked on the motel door where Desjardine was found dead on the day she was killed and saw a Black manโs hand poke through the curtains, then saw a Black man leaving the motel room shortly afterward. In November 1995, detectives in Denver said the palm and finger print details were not defined enough to make a comparison, and the bed sheet they were made on was sent to the FBI. Nine years later, in November 2004, a Denver Police Department captain asked the crime lab to test items found in the motel room for DNA. (more....) Jaimee Ellison, 24, of Turlock is facing three felony charges โ one for attempted rescue of a non-capital prisoner and two felony charges of resisting executive officer. The incident that sparked Ellisonโs arrest began around 2:30 a.m. May 30 when Turlock Police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of W. Main Street for the report of a vandalism. While at the scene the officers were told about an individual in a nearby vehicle that was believed to have a firearm, according to the police department. When the officers took McDaniel out of the vehicle Ellison allegedly started to physically intervene. Ellison allegedly pushed two separate officers multiple times; one strike forced a piece of the officerโs equipment to hit him in the lip, causing a small injury. TPD said they gave Ellison repeated warnings and told her she was under arrest, but she resisted when they attempted to take her into custody. McDaniel is being charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm; possession of ammunition by a prohibited individual; and carrying a loaded firearm in public. Ellison is currently out on bail and has an arraignment scheduled for Aug. 26 in Stanislaus County Superior Court. MS-13 gang member pleads guilty to murder An MS-13 member has admitted to helping plan a 2018 slaying in Queens before wielding a machete in an attack that left a teenager dead in Nassau days later, authorities said Thursday. Prosecutors said Elmer Gutierrez pleaded guilty Wednesday in Nassau County Court to conspiring to murder victim Ian Cruz, 23, in a Far Rockaway park. He also admitted murdering victim Howard Sermeno, 17, behind Five Towns Community Center on the border of Lawrence and Inwood, according to the Nassau district attorneyโs office. Acting State Supreme Court Justice Tammy S. Robbins committed to giving Gutierrez, 21, of Valley Stream, a sentence of 20 years to life in prison when he is due back in court next month. Prosecutors said Gutierrez used the street name "Revolver" and played a role in a killing spree that involved a half-dozen defendants as part an effort to form a new local faction of the MS-13 gang. Last summer, the judge sentenced alleged MS-13 leader, Yonathan Sanchez, to 34 years to life in prison for his role in the crimes. Prosecutors said a male defendant who was 15 at the time also previously pleaded guilty to murder and is awaiting an expected sentence of 8 and 1/2 years to life in prison. They said murder charges remain pending against Carlos Guerra, 21, of Far Rockaway, along with another boy, also then-15, and a girl, then 13. Gutierrezโs lawyer Greg Madey said Thursday that his client came to the United States from El Salvador at about age 16 and was "a very impressionable guy" who befriended a co-worker trying to start a local clique of the gang. Gutierrez, who had worked as a dishwasher, has accepted "what he did, what he was a part of," the Mineola lawyer added. NEWS ARTICLE DOES NOT INDICATE CITIZENSHIP STATUS OF SUSPECT |

It was vandalized with paint in 2017. According to the Times, the statue will go to a yet-to-be-designated cultural institution dedicated to the former presidentโs life and legacy. In a statement, a (groveling cowardly terrorized) Roosevelt family member expressed approval for the removal of the statue, which was created by the American sculptor James Earle Fraser. Officers arriving to an assault-in-progress call saw the gunman open the door of a home and shoot a woman point-blank around 9 a.m. in the 1000 block of East Tri Oaks Lane, near the Katy Freeway feeder road. She later died. The suspect then opened fire on the officers, striking one of their vehicles. The officers returned fire and he retreated inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. He was at some point hospitalized and is expected to survive. Police found the girlfriend dead inside the home. Family members identified her as 39-year-old Virginia โJenniโ Lillard, who recently worked at a veterinarian office, and her mother as 64-year-old Rita Lillard. The girlfriendโs uncle, George Lillard, said she had been trying to break away from a relationship with the man. Sunday was the suspectโs birthday and he had spent the night prior drinking, Lillard said. His girlfriend called her parents that morning and asked for help in getting him to leave the home. Police were not sure when the suspect shot his girlfriend. โVirginia was a loving wonderful girl,โ Lillard said. โThat was part of the problem. She just put up with too much. And of course her mother was trying to protect her.โ โHe shot her in cold blood,โ Lillard said of his sister-in-law. During a police news conference, a distraught woman could be heard crying out, "Let him go." Houston man charged with shooting friend and mother Prosecutors charged Lewis Trinidad Nunez, 46, with the murder and attempted murder of a police officer. He was due to appear before Judge Natalia Cornelio in the 351st District Court on Tuesday morning, according to the court records. The shooting occurred at around 9:15 a.m. on Sunday in a house on the 1000 block of East Tri Oaks Lane in northwest Houston, police said. Nunez lived in the residence, according to an address listed on the court records. Police officer H. Tran from the Northwest Patrol Division of the HPD was dispatched to the residence following a report of domestic unrest. When the police pulled up at the address, Nunez shot and killed 64-year-old Rita Lillard in the door, the authorities said. Tran, who witnessed the shooting, got out of his vehicle and ordered Nunez to drop his gun, police said. Nunez fired shots at the officer, who returned fire and hit Nunez several times, police said. Nunez then barricaded himself in the residence, the police said. After SWAT showed up at the house, Nunez surrendered and was rushed to the hospital. He stayed there from Tuesday morning. The officers found a second dead woman in the apartment. Family members identified her as 39-year-old Virginia โJenniโ Lillard, the shooterโs friend. (Black) Man accused in road rage murder said victim 'needed to be taught a lesson,' prosecutors say CHICAGO - Keshawn Jackson was driving in Lawndale Monday when he nearly crashed into someone and told the driver that he "needed to be taught a lesson," prosecutors said. Jackson, who had his two young children with him in the car, took out a gun and fired at 67-year-old Patrick Earl, killing him, Cook County prosecutors said in court Wednesday. "The man wanted to teach the victim a lesson, and it appears he taught him the ultimate lesson and cost him his life," Judge John F. Lyke Jr. said. Earl had nearly stuck Jacksonโs car around 9:30 a.m. as Jackson pulled onto Cermak Road, prosecutors said. Jackson started following him and, when both stopped at a red light, Jackson rolled down his window, leading a passenger in Earlโs car to "crack" theirs, prosecutors said. Jackson yelled that Earl "needed to learn how to drive and needed to be taught a lesson," then fired two shots from his car window and hit Earl in the chest in the 1600 block of South Kostner, prosecutors said. Earl, of West Garfield Park, died at Mount Sinai Hospital. Earlโs passenger gave police a description of the shooter and his truck, leading Chicago police officers to pull Jackson over later that day, prosecutors said. Jackson was arrested after officers found a 9mm handgun in his truck and the shell casings matched those recovered at the scene of the shooting, prosecutors said. Police said Jacksonโs two children, ages 2 and 3, were inside his car at the time of the shooting. Jackson has previous convictions for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance, prosecutors said. Lyke ordered Jackson held without bail on a first-degree murder charge. Jackson was expected in court again July 12. |

(Black) National Guard soldier (with African BANTU) accused of threatening to shoot up a Connecticut school An Army National Guard officer is accused of threatening to shoot up a Stratford school. Police said the soldier, 23-year-old Jaebets Kayembe, of New Britain, posted a photograph on social media holding an AR-15 with an optical sight while making the threat. Stratford police and the FBI arrested Kayembe at the U.S. Army base in Windsor Locks Wednesday. He was charged with first-degree threatening. โThese are disturbing and serious allegations,โ Assistant Stateโs Attorney Felicia Valentino said during Kayembeโs arraignment Thursday afternoon. She urged Superior Court Judge Ndidi Moses to set a high bond for Kayembe. But Kayembeโs public defender, Dennis Salzbrunn, urged the judge to show leniency for his client. He said Kayembe has been in the National Guard for four years. โI understand that what was posted is certainly alarming but he has no prior criminal record,โ Salzbrunn argued. Moses ordered Kayembe held in lieu of $60,000 bond and ordered him to undergo a mental health evaluation. โIf you make the bond you cannot possess any weapons,โ the judge told Kayembe. โUnderstood,โ he responded. The judge continued the case to Aug. 4. โCorporal Jaebets Kayembe is a traditional member of the Connecticut Army National Guard with four years of service. We are fully complying with law enforcement as they look into this matter. Further comment on an active investigation would be inappropriate,โ said Captain Dave Pytlik, public affairs officer for the Connecticut National Guard. According to Stratford Det. John Therina, Stratford police on June 15 were notified by the FBI that the agency had received information of a threat made to a Stratford school on Snapchat. Police said Kayembe had posted a photograph on the popular messaging app showing him holding the assault rifle on his lap with the caption: โYโall ever heard of a black boy school shooter? Iโm finna make history.โ Police said the FBI traced the source of the message to a home on Wiklund Avenue in Stratford. A team of police and agents went to the address and saw a car registered to Kayembe parked in the driveway. An Army National Guard sticker was affixed to the carโs trunk. But police said they did not find Kayembe or any weapons. Police said the woman told them that Kayembe had moved to New Britain. In the meantime, police said they contacted the National Guard and were told Kayembe was currently in training at Fort Drum in New York. Police said they contacted Kayembeโs platoon leader who told them Kayembe had admitted posting the photo of the rifle and the threatening language but claimed it had been a joke. (Black) โToolie Guyโ charged after string of Facebook Marketplace thefts in East Nashville NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) โ Metro police have arrested a teenager accused of using fake Facebook accounts to scam nearly a dozen sellers out of ATVs and motorbikes. An arrest warrant states one victim posted his ATV for sale on Facebook Marketplace and was contacted June 14 by a man who wanted to purchase it. The victim met the man,W who identified himself as โJimmy Williamson,โ on Gordon Terrace to complete the sale, according to the police report. Detectives said the victim unloaded his ATV and left it running while talking to the man, who eventually got onto the vehicle and drove off without providing payment. At least nine of these incidents were reported in the areas of Gordon Terrace, Woodland Street and Dellway Drive. Metro police issued a release to news outlets on June 18, asking for the publicโs help to identify the suspect, providing a photo taken from a Facebook page for a man known only as โToolie Guy.โ Later that day, police said Dewayne Kirkendoll attempted to turn himself in to the Metro Nashville Police Departmentโs Warrant Division after seeing his photo on the news. (Black) Owner of Memphis bail bonding company accused of tax evasion MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The owner of a bail bonding company in Memphis is accused of tax evasion. According to the affidavit, Terrence Moss, 47, is charged with willful attempt to evade or defeat bond tax. The affidavit says Moss was the proprietor of Ace Bonding Company of Memphis. Bonding companies are required to register with the department of revenue for the $12 thatโs required to be collected for bonds to be valid. Investigators say no registration was found for Ace Bonding Company in the depar In May 2016, a special agent disguised as a potential customer contacted Ace Bonding by telephone to inquire what the business would charge to bail someone out of jail if their bond was $1,000. The affidavit says an individual claiming to be Moss said it would cost $137. Moss then stated the $37 was like a tax. A former employee of the bonding company was interviewed by agents and said that she would collect a 10 percent premium, $25 administration fee, and $12 bond tax. The employee said that only Moss or the secretary prepared receipts for the money collected. Records from the Shelby County Courts showed that Ace Bonding wrote bail bonds from November 2012 through December 2015. Records show that from the fourth quarter of 2012 through the first quarter of 2015, the company wrote $1,054 bonds, equaling $12,648 ($1,054 x $12) in bail bond tax collected, but there is no record of the company ever having file a bail bond tax return or remitting any bail bond tax to the department of revenue. The affidavit says evidence shows there is probable cause to believe that Moss knew of his obligation to collect the tax and that he took control of the collected money without remitting it to the State of Tennessee. HISPANIC Murder Suspect 'Played Soccer' With Victim's Head in Street After Decapitation Joel Arciniega-Saenz, a New Mexico man who has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, reportedly told police he played soccer with his victim's decapitated head before he was taken into custody. The Las Cruces police confirmed Arciniega-Saenz made the comment to officers, although they couldn't verify he actually kicked his victim's head. The 25-year-old was charged on Sunday for the fatal stabbing of a man in a Las Cruces, N.M., park. Officers were dispatched to Apodaca Park after receiving reports of a body in the roadway and when they arrived, they found a decapitated person lying face down. Officers found the head of James Garcia, who was later identified as the victim, about 10 yards from his body. Police found Arciniega-Saenz in the park, according to court documents, and he appeared to have dried blood on his hands. Officers reportedly found Arciniega-Saenz near a knife that had been stabbed into the ground. The defendant told officers that Garcia raped his wife four years ago, but he wouldn't tell police his wife's name. "I was just shocked it actually happened. It's stuff you see in crime movies or stuff like that," Mark Rey, a man who lives in Las Cruces, told KFOX14. This isn't the first time Arciniega-Saenz has had a run-in with law enforcement and KDBC reported he has a lengthy history of criminal charges. In 2017, he was arrested and charged in connection with the murder of Benjamin Montoya. Krystal Montoya, Benjamin's sister, told KDBC she was "angry" when she saw Arciniega-Saenz had been arrested again. "I prayed he wouldn't do it again and ruin someone else's family," Krystal said. "I was very angry because they let a monster out." Charges against Arciniega-Saenz for the 2017 murder were dismissed after a key witness was found with a gun of the same caliber that was used to kill Benjamin, according to KDBC. He was also arrested in May for vandalizing businesses but was released when he posted bail. While examining Garcia's body on Sunday, officers found that the middle finger of his right hand had been removed. It was later found in a pool of blood at the base of a tree where officers also found footprints that matched the pattern on the soul of Arciniega-Saenz's shoes. "I don't want this guy to be released again and go do something stupid again and go hurt another family again," Krystal told KDBC. "No matter how much I hurt from my brother, I can say that I hurt for this person's family. He needs to be put away period." Vatican protests Italy's anti-homophobia law in rare public intervention: 'An unprecedented act' The Vatican took the rare step of voicing a public objection that a proposed law to criminalize homophobia in Italy would threaten "freedom of thought." The "Note Verbale" was delivered June 17 and confirmed a few days later. The contents of the letter have not been publicly disclosed, but the spirit of the message is clear. Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the Vatican foreign minister, delivered a letter last week to the Italian ambassador to the Holy See, in which the Vatican laid out its concerns and claimed the "Zan Law" would, in part, violate the Lateran Treaty made between Italy and the Catholic Church in the 1920s, The Guardian reported. The concerns relate to parts of the agreement associated with the Churchโs "freedom of organization" and "freedom of thought," and it raised questions as to whether private schools would be forced to create events in light of a new national day against homophobia and transphobia. |

(Black) Man accused of shooting, killing man at Phoenix apartment complex PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Police have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in a deadly shooting on Saturday at a north Phoenix apartment complex. The shooting happened at an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Bell Road at around 1:30 a.m. When police arrived on the scene, they found 25-year-old Elijah Hassan Muhammad lying in an area near one of the apartment buildings. The officers learned that witnesses in the area tried to assist Muhammad with CPR before the Phoenix Fire Department arrived and pronounced him dead. Witnesses in the area told officers that Muhammad was told to move out of an apartment, and 30-year-old Cody Christopher Thomas was contacted to help. When Thomas arrived, he began arguing with Muhammad, according to police. When that argument turned into a physical fight, Thomas allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Muhammad, according to police. Muhammad reportedly ran out of the apartment down the stairs, with Thomas following behind. According to court records, witnesses told police that Thomas continued to shoot Muhammad before leaving the area. Police say witnesses were able to identify Thomas in a photo lineup. Two days after the shooting on Monday, June 21, around 10:30 a.m., investigators found Thomas's black Audi parked near Judd and Cooper roads in Florence. He left a home and got into the car with a woman believed to be his girlfriend. According to court records, officers followed him to a grocery store nearby, where they took him into custody. While in custody, Thomas reportedly told investigators he was invited to help remove Muhammad from the apartment per the request of family members who were out of town. He said he and Muhammad fought over the gun, but he got control and then shot Muhammad. Police say Thomas then told investigators that Muhammad left the apartment, and he ran after him and fired more shots. He also said he took a bag filled with thousands in cash from Muhammad and then left the area. Thomas then said he got rid of the gun on a freeway on his way out of the area. Investigators say they found the shell casings at the apartment complex and the cash at a home near where they found Thomas's black Audi.
