BLACK-ON-WHITE: Police ask for help finding (black) man who killed a (White) father, injured his teenage daughter during home invasion
Fayetteville, N.C. — An exchange of gunfire broke out after two intruders stormed into a Fayetteville home on Wednesday night on the 6300 block of Milton Drive.
Justin Jackson, who lived in the home, died on the scene after trying to return fire on the intruders with his own firearm. His 16-year-old daughter was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital. Police are asking for the public's help identifying one of the men involved in the incident. They ask for information on the man wearing the black face mask and a black T-shirt with a 'BROKE' logo. The other man, in yellow neon shoes, has been identified as James Edward Corbett. Police said Corbett was taken to a hospital in Hoke County where he died after being shot in the incident. Longtime friend Robert Hair said Jackson was "a great husband, father and brother." Jackson's daughter was expected to be released from the hospital on Thursday. Eugene Gould, who lives two doors down, said he heard as many as nine gunshots. "It's pretty disturbing, mainly because they had kids," said Gould. "If somebody broke into the house with kids in the house, that's pretty disturbing." He says along with the teenage daughter, Jackson had several small children. The neighbor said Jackson lived here for several years and worked in construction. "He's a good guy. Family guy. Loved his kids. Did a lot of work at the house," said Gould. "He spent his time fixing his house up and playing with the kids. You'd seem him out in the yard playing with the kids a lot." Detectives are still working to determine if the man dropped off at the hospital was involved in the home invasion. Police believe the house was targeted specifically, and they do not believe the public is in danger. Hair said two intruders also broke into Jackson's house a couple of weeks ago, but he says he doesn't know what led to the violence. BLACK-ON-WHITE: Father-to-be dies after being shot through apartment wall, GoFundMe created
TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Aidan Fincher lost his life after a bullet fired from a neighboring apartment went through the wall and hit him this past weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, Tulsa police were called to the Lakeside Place Apartments in response to a shooting. Investigators learned a couple in the apartment next door were arguing and accidentally discharged a firearm.
According to a GoFundMe, 20-year-old Aidan and his pregnant wife were relaxing in their home when the bullet went through the wall, hitting him in the head. Aidan was determined to be "brain dead" at the hospital. A few days later, he was taken off life support. (Black) Arrest made in deadly shooting behind Russell neighborhood bar
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The suspect in a March shooting death of a man in Louisville’s Russell neighborhood.
Carnell Dupress McQuarter, 48, of Louisville, is charged with murder and gun possession by a felon.
Court documents say that on March 21, McQuarter used a gun to shoot Jarvis Patterson to death. Louisville Metro police responding to a shots fired call found Patterson’s body in the alley between W. Broadway and Elliott Ave. near 26th Street. He had been shot five times. LMPD detectives say surveillance video shows McQuarter following Patterson into the alley before the shooting, then walking back to his car after the shooting and leaving the scene. A witness who was with Patterson before the shooting told detectives the men had been arguing earlier inside a bar. McQuarter was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning. |
(Black) Indio man convicted of shooting man over a missing cellphone sentenced to 39 years to life
An ex-con who shot a man in the head over a missing cellphone in Indio was sentenced today to 39 years to life in state prison.
Jurors deliberated one day in March before finding John Kevin Medina, 40, of Indio guilty of attempted murder, and finding true several gun and bodily injury sentence-enhancing allegations.
Medina, who was sentenced by Riverside County Superior Court Judge James S. Hawkins at the Larson Justice Center, shot the victim, identified in court papers as Filberto C., about 12:40 a.m. on March 14, 2020, in the 44700 block of King Street. The defendant's girlfriend was among the first witnesses called to testify by the prosecution in the weeklong trial. Deputy District Attorney Karen Salas questioned her about a conversation the pair had hours after the shooting, when -- after much prodding by the prosecutor -- the woman testified that Medina admitted to shooting a man on King Street that morning because of a cellphone. Indio Police Department Detective Jesse Marin testified about the same motive during the defendant's preliminary hearing last September. The detective said Medina opened fire as the victim drove away because he believed his missing phone was inside the man's van. Medina, who took the stand in his own defense, admitted to being a drug dealer and to speaking with his girlfriend about witnessing a shooting that morning. But at no point, he said, did he admit to being the shooter. Witnesses reported seeing the defendant arguing with the man while the victim was seated inside the van regarding the defendant's missing phone before the van was driven away, Marin testified. According to Salas, the defendant fired eight gunshots toward the vehicle while standing about six feet away. Police found the wounded victim inside the van, which had crashed into parked vehicles on King Street. He was admitted to a hospital in critical condition, where he fell into a coma but survived. Salas said the man suffered permanent damage due to his injuries. Medina has several documented felony convictions in Riverside County, including attempted assault with a firearm, criminal threats, evading arrest, embezzlement and possession of a controlled substance for sale. |

Back on May 28, David Espinoza and his 5-year-old son Aiden were walking to the park on Wood Street, which is just north of Broadway, when Mims hit David with her Honda Civic around 24th Street, police said. She then drove off. Before the impact, David pushed his son out of the way so he wasn't hurt. David was rushed to the hospital and still in a coma, as of Friday evening. CINCINNATI —
Cincinnati Police are searching for a man wanted for a stabbing in Over-the-Rhine on May 22.
Police said the incident happened around 2:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of Sycamore Street.
Officials said the suspect walked up behind the victim in a parking lot and stabbed them once in the back. Investigators believe the attack was unprovoked. Police describe the suspect as a Black man who was wearing a red striped shirt, blue jeans, black and white shoes and was armed with a knife the night of the offense. HISPANIC Suspect faces murder charge after GreenTree Inn shooting (WHITE) victim dies 
The man accused in a shooting Saturday at the GreenTree Inn on Cerrillos Road faces an open count of murder following the death early Thursday morning of 59-year-old Marty Little.
Little, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head, was pronounced dead around 5 a.m. Thursday, Capt. Aaron Ortiz of the Santa Fe Police Department said in a news release.
Little, a motel guest at the time of the shooting, had been living in the city since at least April, according to police. He leaves behind an adult son, police said, and possibly other family members. Court documents say Anthony Ortiz, 27, who was arrested on unrelated charges Tuesday in Española, confessed to the shooting in an interview with New Mexico State Police officers. He was taken into custody following a high-speed chase in a stolen Jeep, according to an affidavit, and was found with a handgun and small amounts of narcotics. Ortiz also is accused of stealing a vehicle from motel guests at the GreenTree Inn after shooting Little. That vehicle was recovered in Albuquerque. Ortiz was being held in the Rio Arriba County jail Thursday but was expected to be extradited to Santa Fe. Along with murder, he is charged with kidnapping, armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, motor vehicle theft and tampering with evidence. Santa Fe police wrote in an arrest warrant affidavit Ortiz had confessed to shooting Little in the GreenTree Inn parking lot after the two had engaged in a scuffle nearby at Vegas Verdes Drive and Cerrillos Road. Ortiz said Little had followed him to the GreenTree Inn, the affidavit says. Ortiz said he had smashed the cellphone Little used to record him after he fired shots to scare off two people behind Firehouse Subs. When Little threw a knife at him, Ortiz told police, he “got scared” and fired two shots at the man before fleeing in a Buick he stole at gunpoint from a woman and her adult son. Crime Stoppers seeks public's help finding (Black) suspect in fatal drug deal shooting
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Crime Stoppers of Wichita - Sedgwick County is asking the public's help finding 19-year-old Jakob Oneil Cuble, who is wanted in connection to a homicide that happened one year ago.
On May 20, 2020, 17-year-old Marcus Sain was shot and killed during a drug transaction at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of South Webb Road in Wichita.
Detectives with the Wichita Police Department were able to identify three suspect involved in the murder. Two of those people, Nathaniel Saunders and Malcolm Ganther, are currently in custody, but Cuble has not yet been located. The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office has charged Cuble with first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. His current whereabouts are unknown. Cuble is 5'6" tall, weighs approximately 120 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. |

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A manager of a donut shop in North Philadelphia’s Fairhill section was shot and killed during a robbery early Saturday morning, police said. The incident took place at the Dunkin’ located on the 500 block of West Lehigh Avenue just before 5:30 a.m.

According to police, the man, armed with a revolver, forced the woman inside toward a safe in the kitchen and eventually into a supply closet where the victim hands the suspect cash. According to police, the man then shot her in the head and fled the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. (Black) Crime: New details released in Albany child homicide
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Rashad Nelson, 19, is being held in a Tallahassee jail in connection to a child’s death in Albany.
It happened on the 100 block of Marie Road after the mom found the 1-year-old unresponsive.
Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler identified the child as Zy’ionn Luke.
He said when he was called to the hospital to assess the body, there were unusual injuries on the child that shouldn’t have been there.
District Attorney Greg Edwards said after the coroner made his observations, the child’s body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab. “It was after that point that it was determined a homicide and that we needed to investigate all persons who had an opportunity to commit a homicide,” said Edwards. Edwards said after contacting persons of interest, investigators determined there was probable cause for Rashad Nelson. US Marshals said they apprehended Nelson at a hotel in Tallahassee. They found him there with a woman from Albany. Marshals said he took off running when they tried to arrest him. He was chased through an outdoor bar and tased before they caught him in a parking lot nearby. Albany Police say more charges could come. District Attorney Greg Edwards says Nelson stayed at the 100 block of Marie Road, with the one-year-old’s mother. “He is not the biological father of the child, but the mother, as I’m understanding, is with child from him.” “The case is still pending so it’s very limited on what I can describe or reveal in terms of evidence, but after the forensic autopsy, it revealed that the child died due to blunt force trauma,” said Edwards. The baby was found dead on May 21 after a cardiac arrest call came in. The autopsy Edwards mentions was done on the 25th of May. |
Third (black) person arrested in Hickory Lane homicide case
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Police Department (APD) said two more people have been arrested in the death of Malik Ford, 20, who died after being shot in the back of the head in the 500 block of Hickory Lane on May 13.
According to a press release from APD, Jakobe King, 17, and Kadafi Simone Brown, 18, have been arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in Ford’s death. Both men were arrested and booked into the Dougherty County Jail on Wednesday. On May 20, APD announced the arrest of Munir Salim Flood, 18, who was charged with murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in the same case. On May 25, the police department issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for Xavier Trayshonna Williams, 18, and Brown, who were both wanted for questioning in connection to the homicide. |

Authorities are still working to gather information about exactly what time and which line the assault occurred on, and who filmed the footage. The video clips show at least two separate passengers — who both appear to be of Asian descent — were targeted in what may be some form on social media challenge. A man described as weighing more than 300 pounds who was caught on video randomly attacking a woman at a gas station in the Gardena area has been arrested, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The incident occurred about 7:10 p.m. May 30 at a gas station along the 500 block of Rosecrans Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The woman had stopped at the station to pump gas when the assailant drove into the parking lot and parked directly in front of her. “The suspect calmly exited his vehicle, walked towards the victim, and without warning or provocation, punched the victim, causing her to fall to the ground,” authorities said in a news release. Video released Friday shows that while the victim was on the ground, the man repeatedly punches her in the head and face. The repeated punches, however, are concealed by the victim’s vehicle. Authorities said the assailant then grabbed the woman’s hair and slammed her head against the vehicle and onto the ground several times. Several people appeared to have witnessed the incident, or approached the man amid the attack, with one person even touching the man on the arm, the video shows. That witness then walks back with the assailant to his car, but authorities said the man then drove away from the scene. The victim told authorities that she did not know or recognize her attacker, and she was not robbed. Authorities believe the incident was random and unprovoked. The victim suffered severe injuries to her head and face and was taken to a hospital for treatment. She has since been released, officials said. A detective on the case told KTLA multiple people have come forward to report they’ve been attacked by the same man since investigators released the video. The suspect is described as a Black man 30 to 35 years old; about 6 feet to 6 feet, 5 inches; and weighing between 300 and 350 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark shorts, dark shoes and was shirtless. He was driving an older-model Ford Expedition with matte black paint and black rims. (Black) Man hurls young child at Florida deputies after high-speed chase 
A man threw his young child at deputies after leading authorities on a high-speed chase in Indian River County.
One deputy caught the child as other deputies arrested 32-year-old John Henry James III on multiple counts of aggravated child abuse, reckless driving, resisting arrest with violence, aggravated battery on an officer, and fleeing and eluding.
The Indian River County Sheriff's Office said it all happened around 6:30 p.m. on May 26.
A deputy spotted a Nissan Rogue driving erratically along 20th Street, near I-95. The sheriff's office said Vice units tried to pull the driver over, but the driver ignored the sirens and kept driving toward Gifford. As the Vice team called off its pursuit, a deputy tracked the vehicle speeding down 49th Street. The Indian River County Sheriff's Office helicopter began tracking the car from the air. The Nissan stopped in front of a home on 47th Street before taking off again. One deputy tried a PIT maneuver to stop the car near a trailer park on 49th Street but was unsuccessful. The suspect's car then crashed into an unmarked patrol car. Deputies used stop sticks to disable the car as the driver led deputies into the Taylor Point Apartment Complex. At that moment, the sheriff's office said James ran from his car while carrying a small child in his arms. As James ran down a breezeway in the complex, the sheriff's office said he tossed the child at a deputy. The child was not hurt. |
Videos shows a BLACK man who allegedly tried to hijack a Delta flight being restrained and zip-tied by passengers and flight attendants 
A passenger attempted to breach the cockpit of a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles to Nashville on Friday, according to CNN.
The plane had to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after the man began banging on the doors of the pilot's cabin, CNN reported. The cockpit was not breached, the media outlet said. The man was taken into federal custody, CBS Los Angeles reported. |

Cops are looking to derail a man who hugged, kissed and groped an unsuspecting 34-year-old woman aboard an F train this week, police said.
The incident occurred Wednesday at about 9:45 a.m. inside of a moving Manhattan-bound F train that was headed to 169th Street in Queens, cops said. The unidentified suspect sat next to the 34-year-old woman and grabbed her, groped her and kissed her neck, police said. When the frightened victim shoved the brute away, he sat across from her — then exited the train at an unknown station, cops said. Police on Saturday released a surveillance photo of the suspect, who is about 35 to 45 years old, 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds. UTICA, N.Y. – A 22-year-old Utica woman who allegedly sexually abused a teen girl was arrested Thursday following an investigation that started in April.
According to Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Kiara Mitchell is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl at the beginning of April, which was reported to the Child Advocacy Center.
Mitchell was arrested at a home in Utica on June 3 and charged with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned and released. An order of protection has been issued on behalf of the teen girl, who was also offered services through the Child Advocacy Center. |
(Black) CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER CHARGED WITH FIRST-DEGREE RAPE IN ROME
ROME, N.Y. – A convicted sex offender was arrested Thursday after allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl at a home in Rome on May 17.
The sexual abuse allegation was reported to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Child Advocacy Center on Thursday. Following an investigation, 45-year-old Steven Johnson was arrested at his residence and charged with first-degree rape.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Oneida County jail without bail. An order of protection has been issued on the victim’s behalf, and she has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center. Johnson is already on parole following a previous rape conviction in 2006. He is considered a Level 2 sex offender, according to the New York state registry. |

A North Carolina high school student was denied his diploma for wearing a Mexican flag over his graduation gown.
Ever Lopez draped a Mexican flag over his blue gown at Asheboro High School's graduation ceremony Thursday night.
Livestreamed video footage from the ceremony shows the principal ask him to take the flag off. After an unsuccessful attempt to take it off, he was handed his diploma holder, which the other students also received. But after walking across the stage, he was denied his actual diploma. The incident has sparked outrage and led to a protest outside the school Friday. However, the school district insists that Lopez's actions "violated the ceremony's dress code" and "the incident is not about the Mexican flag." Fiery protests rage yet again in Minneapolis after cops fatally shoot armed fugitive
Angry protesters lit fires, looted stores and taunted cops in Minneapolis Thursday after officers shot and killed a man — who was a fugitive who whipped out a handgun when authorities closed in on him.
Members of a US Marshals task force were attempting to arrest the felon around 2 p.m. on a state warrant for being a criminal in possession of a firearm, authorities said.
“During the incident, the subject, who was in a parked car, failed to comply and produced a handgun resulting in task force members firing upon the subject,” the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department, which was part of the task force involved in the fatal arrest, said in a statement. The man killed has since been identified as 32-year-old Winston Boogie 
Smith by local media and friends and family on social media.
Smith was convicted of aggravated robbery in 2017 and received a stayed prison sentence and was put on probation, according to WCCO. A warrant was then issued for his arrest after he skipped a probation violation hearing in May — which would have sent him to prison, the outlet said. Officers attempted to revive Smith but he was declared dead by paramedics on the scene. A woman who was in the car with the suspect sustained minor injuries from shattered glass, the statement said. Several law enforcement agencies had been involved in the arrest, including local sheriff’s offices as well as the federal Department of Homeland Security, but not Minneapolis police, the Star Tribune said. Still, protesters shouted insults and anti-cop slogans at Minneapolis police, whose officers were deployed to provide perimeter support, the paper said. The shooting quickly intensified angry protests already raging over the dismantling of George Floyd Square even before any real details of the shooting emerged — with videos showing several large fires burning in the street. A 25-year-old man from Phoenix was sentenced Friday to serve life in prison for the murder and cover-up of Angela Russo, a 24-year-old woman he dated.
Lashawn Young Johnson was sentenced in a Maricopa County court. A jury found him guilty on Aug. 8 of seven counts, including second-degree murder, kidnapping, sexual assault and concealment of a dead body.
Johnson and Russo began their relationship in mid-April 2016, according to court documents. Russo was last seen leaving her Pinal County home in her father's blue Honda Accord at 10 p.m. on April 19. By 10:30 p.m., her cellphone activity ceased. Maricopa Police officials began investigating her disappearance and used electronic data to determine that Russo had planned to meet Johnson at his apartment in the 5400 block of West Indian School in Phoenix, court documents said. Officers discovered her body in a deserted area near Tonopah May 25 in a clandestine grave next to a burned Honda Accord. Police were able to locate the body with help from Johnson's roommate, according to documents. Johnson was arrested May 25 on suspicion of involvement in Russo's murder. He was already in custody in jail on unrelated charges, according to police. An investigation began and police found more incriminating evidence inside Johnson's apartment after obtaining a warrant. Johnson repeatedly said he was sorry for his actions and said "his life was over" and that he "(expletive) up and made a mistake," court documents said. A Florida inmate serving two life sentences for multiple murders has confessed to murdering six additional people in Pennsylvania in the 1970s.
According to a Wednesday statement from Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), 79-year-old Edward A. Surratt "implicated himself in four unsolved PSP homicide investigations" when PSP investigators spoke with him in March at Florida's Raiford Correctional Facility.
The killings took place between 1977 and 1978. In 1977, the former truck driver and Aliquippac, Pennsylvania resident murdered William and Nancy Adams in Beaver County; Guy and Laura Mills near Bedford; and Joel Krueger near McConnellsburg. In 1978, Surratt allegedly also killed John Shelkons, in Beaver County. He had already faced charges in Shelkons’ death, but a judge dismissed them in 1980 due to his other convictions and the security risk of transporting him to Pennsylvania for trial, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Surratt has also been convicted of murder in South Carolina. State police said that district attorneys in each county agreed not to prosecute Surratt for the cold-case homicides due to his life sentences in other jurisdictions. CLEVELAND — DavidMcDaniel, a 19-year-old man charged in last year’s shooting death of Cleveland Police Detective James Skernivitz, was back in court Thursday morning for an arraignment hearing.
During the brief hearing, McDaniel pleaded not guilty and the judge set his bond at $1 million with a pretrial scheduled for Wednesday, June 9 at 9 a.m.
Thursday's arraignment was held after a new indictment was issued last week, which added capital murder specifications to the case – meaning McDaniel could face the death penalty if convicted. McDaniel is charged in the murders of Detective Skernivitz, 53, and informant Scott Dingess, 50, last September as the two men prepared for a drug operation. BLACK-ON-WHITE: Black man arrested for murder of White man in Medford, Oregon
MEDFORD, Ore. – A man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in central Medford.
Police said on the evening of May 29, two men were involved in an argument inside Weldon’s Cleaners on Crater Lake Avenue. One of the men left and came back a few minutes later in a black SUV. When the other man approached the SUV, he was shot and killed.
The SUV was later found unoccupied in the 500 block of Mary Street. It was determined to be linked to a nearby residence, which officers surrounded before obtaining a search warrant. The suspect was identified as 45-year-old Lorenzo Fisher. The Medford Police Department said for safety reasons, Fisher was contacted by cell phone before officers entered the residence. He said he wasn’t home and agreed to turn himself in to law enforcement in Josephine County, where he was taken into custody and eventually turned over to Medford police. Fisher was interviewed and lodged in the Jackson County Jail for murder, felon in possession of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon. MPD said a search of Fisher’s home yielded a handgun which was believed to be used in the homicide. Fort Worth man identified as shooter in murder-suicide that left 3 dead, records show
A 39-year-old man has been identified as the suspect in what authorities say was a double murder-suicide that left his estranged wife and her son dead in their west Fort Worth apartment.
The man was Timothy Paul Beverly II, of Fort Worth, who died early Tuesday from a gunshot wound to his head, according to a ruling by officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. His death was ruled a suicide.
Officials with the medical examiner’s office identified the victims as Holly Marlene Beverly, 39, and her 17-year-old son, Titus Akins. They lived in the Westland Estates Apartments in the 2900 block of Jonah Drive, where police found the bodies. The suspect and victims were found dead in a bedroom. Fort Worth police said Timothy and Holly Beverly were estranged spouses who had reportedly been apart for approximately two to three years. Holly Beverly died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest, and Akins was shot in the chest. He was killed on his 17th birthday. Investigators said the killings were domestic-related but did not release further details. Medical examiner records show that Timothy Beverly did not live at the apartment complex where the killings occurred. Bullet holes in the door seemed to indicate he forced he way into the apartment. Titus Akins was not Timothy Beverly’s son, according to Tarrant County family court records. Holly Beverly was a teacher at Hope Works Christian Academy, a school official said, and she had two other children, ages 18 and 12, according to a GoFundMe created by friends of the family, which is raising money for funeral costs and other expenses for the children. Titus graduated in May from Hopes Works Christian Academy, where he was valedictorian, according to the GoFundMe page. Willie Lee Langston Jr., 29, of La Grange, was arrested at the Goldsboro Police Department without incident and charged with murder Friday afternoon, according to a news release from Goldsboro officials. Police said Langston came to the police department about his vehicle being seized in Mt. Olive earlier Friday. Police said Friday they have a “tentative identification” of the woman but are not releasing her ID until they receive a “positive identification” from the State Medical Examiner’s Office and the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory. Neighbors and a 911 call reported the woman’s body was dismembered. Earlier this week, police released a photo of a car they believe was linked to the crime. The police department said Bernard Goodwyn, 31, of Smyrna, Del., opened fire on the officers as they entered the apartment. ANDERSON, SC (FOX CAROLINA) - The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says they arrested a suspect accused of murdering a victim during a shooting on Friday night on Keys Street.
Deputies say that the suspect, Paul E. Cormack, was charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime.
He is currently being held at the Anderson County Detention Center according to deputies. The coroner's office says that upon arrival to the scene, a man was discovered suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to AnMed but was pronounced dead at 11:43pm on Friday. The victim was identified as 27-year-old Kurtis Lee Bordelon of Anderson. According to a release, Bordelon's death has been ruled a homicide as it was determined that he sustained the gunshot wound during the altercation. On July 7, 2015, Eldridge’s body was found in the 1300 block of Hopewell Road in Osanippa Creek in Chambers County, Alabama after she had been abducted from Columbus, Georgia on July 4. Eldridge’s family realized she was missing when her mother came home the next morning and found a window screen in their home torn off and the back door open. An autopsy performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Science Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Eldridge died of blunt force trauma to the face and head. Stacey Gray was arrested on July 13, 2015 in Notasulga, Alabama after leading law enforcement officials on an hours long manhunt. MIAMI (CBS Miami) – Rapper Wisdom Awute and a second man have been charged in a double shooting Monday night on South Beach.
It happened just after 11:30 p.m., outside the popular Prime 112 restaurant on Ocean Drive and 1st Street.
According to arrest reports, there was a verbal dispute between two men and members of rapper DaBaby’s entourage, which included 21-year-old Wisdom Awute, about a parked car blocking the valet area. “It was between rappers. We saw one come in and he was looking for the others,” said a woman who was in the restaurant. “The whole restaurant got up and started running outside. We ran out and ran to the front door and that is when the dude started shooting and we ran back in.” After one of the men was punched, they took off running and Awute reportedly chased after them. During the pursuit, Awute reportedly drew a gun and shot one of the men in the leg. “We ran up to our room, looked out our balcony, and saw one of the victims that was shot in the leg, they took off running down in this area,” said Reed McLean, who is visiting from New York. Also charged in the shooting was 29-year-old Christopher Urena. According to police, he was involved in a verbal argument with another group of men and then shot one man in the back. He then reportedly jumped into the car blocking in valet area and drove off. A Beech Island man who was shot by deputies last week had plotted to kill deputies by luring them to his location with a fake 911 call, according to SLED.
Chaney Asad Jones, 20, has been charged with attempted murder and pointing and presenting a firearm at a person.
A SLED warrant spells out his plot: “The defendant called 911 and reported a man with a gun and when deputies arrived, he pointed a gun at (the officer) and fired one round.” Lt. Jonathon Clough and Deputy Agnieska Ferrell were the officers involved. Both deputies were placed on temporary administrative leave, sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said. Deputies first responded to 4002 Columbia Hwy North in Ridge Spring at 8 p.m. May 25. Just after the deputies arrived at the home, they were confronted by a Black male, armed with a handgun. While deputies gave verbal commands to drop the weapon, Jones pointed his weapon towards deputies who responded by firing their weapons at the suspect. The suspect was struck once in his lower torso. Dating app led to (black) Air Force mechanic's rape of 11-year-old female Alabama child
HURLBURT FIELD — The 25-year-old airman charged recently with the October 2020 rape of an 11-year-old Alabama girl met the victim through the digital dating app Badoo, according to an affidavit filed in Alabama's Morgan County District Court.
Also according to the affidavit, the victim's parents did not learn of the alleged rape until four months later, when her father intercepted a friend request posted by the man charged in the case — Air Force Senior Airman Keith Williams of a Hurlburt Field maintenance squadron — on a Facebook page the father had set up some time before for his three children. The page's profile included a photo of the three children. The victim's father saw the friend request Feb. 12, and posing as his 11-year-old daughter, responded by asking, "Do I know you?" According to the affidavit, Williams responded with "(Name redacted) from Badoo?" He went on to describe what the victim was wearing on the night of the incident and details about the backyard of her home. From there, Williams made some salacious remarks about the victim referencing the rape, and wrote, "Ima (I'm going to) definitely marry you in the future lol (laughing out loud)." "He also told the juvenile he lives in Florida because that is where he works but can leave his job every now and then," according to the affidavit from a police detective in the northern Alabama city of Decatur, where the alleged rape occurred. Immediately after the Feb. 12 Facebook exchange, the affidavit states, the victim's mother asked her daughter about Williams, and it was then that the girl disclosed Williams' October visit. The Decatur Police Department investigation was opened the same day when police were told the girl had met Williams online and had sexual intercourse with him in the backyard of her family's home. Although Devon Dunham confessed to fatally shooting former Hardeeville volunteer fire chief Ernest Martin Stevens in a public parking lot in 2017, a Jasper County jury found him not guilty of murder Thursday.
Dunham breathed an audible sigh of relief through his face mask after hearing the verdict and softly fist-bumped his attorney.
The jury deliberated less than two hours. Stevens, 77, was shot to death just before 9 a.m. Aug. 10, 2017, while sitting in the driver’s seat of his Ford F-150 truck in the Argent Square parking lot near his home off Ulman Street in Hardeeville. Dunham, 28 and living at Hardeeville at the time, was arrested related to the killing a day later in Savannah. His trial started Tuesday in Ridgeland on charges of murder and possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Multiple witnesses, who either saw or heard the shooting, testified Tuesday. Law enforcement officers who responded to the crime scene, were involved in Dunham’s arrest, or tested key evidence for DNA also testified. The violent incident stemmed from Dunham trying to find a ride and approaching Stevens to take his truck, according to testimony. Dunham’s attorney, Beaufort-based Jeffrey Stephens, said Tuesday that Dunham acted in a “blind panic,” which is not murder under state law. A GUN, FOOTPRINTS, AND ADMISSION More S.C. BLACK-ON-WHITE: Black Missouri man charged in connection to Sunday double homicide in Independence
INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — A 44-year-old Higginsville man is facing charges in connection to the shootings last Sunday that left a man and a woman dead in Independence.
Jackson County prosecutors have charged Steven B. Turner Jr. with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
According to court documents, officers responded to a vehicle crash at 6:30 a.m. near East Lexington and South Ash avenues. Police also received a 911 call on shots fired in the area of East Kentucky Road and North Huttig Avenue at the same time. When officers arrived at the crash, they located Billy Davis and Ashley Walker inside the vehicle that had been riddled with bullet holes and the front driver’s side window and rear glass window shattered. Both victims died from their injuries. Police also responded to the shots fired call and located several PMC 10mm spent shell casings behind a residence along an alleyway. Officers also located what appeared to be a vehicle window glass on the ground near the shell casings that were located. Officers located children at the residence riding bikes behind the house where it was determined they possibly witnessed the shootings. The children told police a man they knew as “Stevie” was at the residence moments before the shootings happened. The children heard a gun being “racked” and “Stevie” was seen running from the back of the residence after the sound of the shots being fired. A family member of Walker told police Turner was friends with her and would often help her with paying utility bills. The family member also stated she knew Turner very well and had been around him since they were kids. She told police Turner and the victim Davis did not get along. She didn’t know exactly what the feud was over but hinted it was about guns and the way Davis acted towards people when he was “high.” The woman told police Turner had previously shot at Davis on two other occasions. BLACK-ON-WHITE: Black Oklahoma man faces 1st-degree murder charge after killing White alleged burglar
LaRue Bratcher, a 34-year-old Black Army veteran from Oklahoma, remains behind bars on a charge of first-degree murder more than a year after he shot and killed a white man allegedly trying to break into his marijuana grow business.
With his trial date delayed until later this year, Bratcher’s family and friends and members of the Oklahoma City community are rallying behind him, saying the murder charge is unjust. “I feel like this was an injustice for the simple fact that if the roles were reversed, if this was a white person inside the facility, he would not be in this situation,” Bratcher’s wife, Vicky Bratcher, told Yahoo News in a video interview. “Someone broke into his place,” Bratcher’s uncle, Derrick Neighbors, said at a rally last month. “He didn’t go out looking for trouble. He was in his own place of business.” In 2018 when Oklahoma voters legalized medical marijuana, Bratcher established Premium Smoke LLC, a marijuana grow shop located in Oklahoma City, whose business license expired a year later. Bratcher had planned to renew his license in 2019, his wife said, but learned he would not be allowed to do so until he made nearly $100,000 worth of renovations to the warehouse that housed it, so he held off. On May 27, 2020, around 1 a.m., Bratcher was at the grow operation warehouse when Daniel Hardwick, a 42-year-old white man, allegedly attempted to break into the business for the second consecutive night. Video from that night reportedly shows Hardwick park his car at the rear of the shop, walk to the business’s door and jostle with the door handle, attempting to gain entry. “He was trying to break in when the business owner, who was inside the business at the time, apparently opened fire with a handgun, striking and killing the man who was breaking in,” Master Sgt. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department told KFOR. Bratcher called the police shortly after the shooting, and once at the scene, officers called the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority to ensure the business was legal. When they found out that the business’s license had expired, Bratcher was arrested for operating a grow shop illegally, a felony, and was held on $5,000 bond. Texas rapper Lil Loaded, who won viral success with a 2019 single and was facing a manslaughter charge in a fatal shooting last year, died Monday, officials said.
The rapper, whose real name was Dashawn Robertson, 20, died by suicide, said his attorney, Ashkan Mehryari.
An official with the Dallas County medical examiner's office said the cause and manner of death had not yet been determined. Investigators then said Love drove the victim in her vehicle to the woods near East Old Marion Highway where he tried to set the vehicle on fire. A man got stabbed in the back with his own knife during a wild brawl inside of a Harlem subway station on Monday morning, according to the NYPD.
The 51-year-old victim and an unidentified man exchanged words at around 6 a.m. on the mezzanine level of the 125th Street station, police said.
Surveillance video released by cops shows the suspect pulling out “two metal objects” — which appear to be broken umbrella handles — and squaring up for a fight.
The victim then produced a pair of knives and began going toe-to-toe with the other man, according to the footage. At one point, the unidentified man suddenly grabbed the victim and held him up against a wall, before slamming him to the ground. A woman in a red coat can be seen rushing over to help and trying to pull the man off of the victim, to no avail. The latest victim to accuse former Warminster Township police officer James Carey came forward just days after authorities announced the 53-year-old’s arrest in April, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.

(Black) Fort King Middle School teacher, two others, accused of murder
Ocala, Florida — A Fort King Middle School teacher is under arrest and accused of being involved in a shooting that left one person dead.
The teacher has been identified as Martesha Williams Johnson and has been a math teacher at the school since 2012, however, the school district said she has called into work for five weeks due to “personal reasons.”
According to detectives, the shooting stemmed from an argument that began on social media over a relationship and involved threats and the taunting to fight. Johnson is just one of three people arrested for the shooting death of Tyerune Booker, whose body was found in Alachua County one week ago. Security video from a nearby business shows the three suspects, all from Ocala, at the crime scene. Doug Heath and Jasmine Webb were also arrested for the murder. All three remain behind bars. When contact was made with Johnson, she told deputies that they could search her vehicle. However, when deputies found a loaded magazine in Johnson’s car, containing she withdrew consent, at which time the search stopped. Johnson was then read her rights and arrested. She said she knew Webb and Heath but denied involvement in the shooting. Johnson was reportedly smug during her arrest and even smiled for her booking photo. Some staff members, who did not want to be identified, said that Johnson has been known to be confrontational and have a “short fuse.” Johnson is now on paid leave. |

Jamarion Thomas, 20, is facing five felonies including murder for the shooting at the Villages of Hanna, according to court documents.
On Saturday, officers were called to the apartment complex at 12:41 a.m. on reports of multiple gunshots. When officers arrived on scene, gunfire was still ongoing, police said. According to police, multiple people were shooting. Officers ran toward the gunfire but were unable to find any suspects. ficers then began checking apartments in the area that appeared to have been struck by gunfire. A woman was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was taken to an area hospital, where she later died. She was identified Monday as 29-year-old Candiace M. Lay of Fort Wayne. The Allen County Coroner’s Office said Lay died of a gunshot wound to the head and her death was ruled a homicide. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro Cold Case detectives arrested a man accused of murdering 30-year-old Velma Tharpe more than two decades ago.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested 51-year-old Calvin Atchison II on a grand jury indictment charging him with first-degree murder. Tharpe died in June of 2000 from strangulation and blunt force trauma to the head and neck. Atchison’s arrest comes after 47-year-old Paul Garrett was previously convicted in Tharpe’s killing. A petition is pending in Criminal Court for his exoneration. Garrett was sentenced to 15 years for involuntary manslaughter but was released from prison in 2011. MNPD said they believe Garrett is innocent. According to MNPD, detectives learned of DNA evidence in 2011 that implicated Atchison and have been working to find the right suspect since. |

A Texas high school teacher who killed one motorcyclist and seriously injured another in a car crash was traveling at a speed of 117 miles per hour behind the wheel of her vehicle before the fatal collision, authorities allege.
The teacher, 24-year-old Rickala Chaffold, was arrested following the crash on the LBJ TEXpress, or Interstate Highway 635, and has now been charged with manslaughter. The incident happened about 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, reports The Dallas Morning News. According to an police incident report obtained by the online news site InForney.com, Chaffold, a teacher at Forney High School, was driving a 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLA with multiple motorcycles traveling ahead of her on the three-lane westbound interstate when she made contact with two motorcycles in the left lane. One of the cyclists, identified by Dallas police as 16-year-old Atreyu "Trey" Gowen of Mesquite, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second cyclist, 28-year-old Paul Arnett of Dallas, was seriously injured. Both motorcyclists were determined to be traveling at a speed of about 72 miles per hour at the time of the crash, according to the police report. But six seconds before the crash, Chaffold was traveling at 117 miles per hour, according to investigators who reached that conclusion based upon video surveillance and the time and distance covered by Chaffold's vehicle, according to the crash report. |

Darryl Borden was convicted of attempted felonious assault and will be sentenced by Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael Russo on June 30.
According to Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams, police officers were called to a residence in the 2000 block of East 81st Street around 3:45 a.m. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley said a 45-year-old woman called police after Borden threatened her with a gun and fired a shot into a bedroom floor. When officers arrived, they entered the residence and found Borden hiding in a bathroom, prosecutors said. Borden then fired multiple shots, striking Officer Kilnapp. Officers returned fire before running outside to safety. Williams said Kilnapp’s partner administered first aid, before EMS took her to the hospital. She was released from the hospital several days later. |

(BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma - A Broken Arrow home health care provider has been charged for the fourth time, accused of taking advantage of elderly and disabled people by stealing their money.
Ashley Brown was most recently arrested in Mayes County for four counts of stealing from disabled people under her care. It's the fourth charge in the past year.
"The lack of conscience is just palpable," said Mike Hunter. Oklahoma Attorney General Mike Hunter said Brown has been committing crimes against vulnerable people for years and his office is not going to stop pursuing justice. "She pretends to be taking money and not providing services," said Hunter. In 2017, while working at a Tulsa health care company, Brown was accused of embezzling $23,000 from the company bank account. Then, in 2018, a Creek County affidavit said Brown started Golden Care Home Health and used an elderly couple's bank account information to steal more than $26,000. Zaqwan Washain Dobson, 26, of Carolina Road is charged with murder in the death of 23-year-old Tevon Parsons, the Surry County Sheriff's Office said.
Dobson was being held Saturday in the Surry County Jail with no bond allowed on the murder charge, the sheriff's office said. Dobson's bond was set at $75,000 after he was served with outstanding warrants on unrelated criminal charges. Surry County sheriff's deputies found Parsons shot to death Friday on Cedar Ridge Road near Mount Airy, the sheriff's office said. Tavarus Gray Jr. was convicted of second-degree murder after a first-degree murder charge was amended.

Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) Warrant Fugitive Unit (WFU) officers were assisting agents with the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force Thursday around 4 p.m. to take 54-year-old Anthony William Rodgers into custody.
Rodgers was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and pulled into a convenience store parking lot at 4904 Haygood Road. Fugitive unit officers and marshals followed him into the lot and approached Rodgers’ vehicle. As they were talking to him, he “abruptly drove off,” striking a U.S. Marshals vehicle. He continued to drive away recklessly, police said. He then struck additional Virginia Beach police and marshals vehicles. Police then successfully deployed stop sticks, but Rodgers allegedly continued to elude police. He was ultimately stopped and was taken into custody at Wesleyan Drive near Diamond Springs Road. A man accused of fatally shooting a man and seriously injuring another in 2018 has been sentenced to prison.
Norberto Adame-Rivera was sentenced to 20 years for murder and 10 years for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The sentences will run concurrently.
A jury found Adame-Rivera guilty on Thursday after five hours of deliberation. 111th District Court Judge Monica Z. Notzon presided over the jury trial that lasted four days. Webb County officials said this was the first post-pandemic criminal trial in the county. It was live streamed on YouTube to provide access to the public. Assistant District Attorney’s Joaquin Rodriguez, Albrecht Riepen and Joe Rodriguez prosecuted the case. Prosecutors said Adame-Rivera fatally shot Jose Juan Martinez and injured Lester Julian Castro. The case dates back to Nov. 2, 2018, when police officers responded to a fight at Club Vibe on 6408 Crescent Loop. Several callers were reporting a large fight outside the club. As officers arrived, the crowd began to disperse. Officers dispersed the crowd and regained peace and control of the premises. At about 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of 15-20 shots fired in the 800 block of East Olive Street. Lester Julian Castro had called 911 saying that he and his friend, Martinez, were shot at. Castro said he was shot in the arms and was bleeding out, according to an arrest affidavit. Meanwhile, Martinez was unresponsive. Castro was taken to Laredo Medical Center for treatment while Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene, the affidavit states. |

HISPANIC Suspect in 2011 murder at Modesto taco truck arrested trying to reenter country from MEXICO 
A man who has been wanted for several years in connection with a 2011 murder at a Modesto taco truck was caught trying to reenter the country from Mexico.
Tomas Solorio Mendoza, 30, has been wanted since 2017 for the shooting death of 22-year-old Samuel Gallardo, who was gunned down Nov. 26, 2011, at a taco truck in front of the El Paraiso bar on Crows Landing Road.
Stanislaus County sheriff’s Sgt. Luke Schwartz said Solorio Mendoza was arrested in Yuma County, Arizona. Arrest records show he was arrested in Arizona on May 11 and extradited back to Stanislaus County on Thursday. He is being held without bail on charges of murder, assault likely to produce great bodily injury and participating in a criminal street gang. Authorities say Gallardo was on a date with his girlfriend and another couple the night of the shooting. The couples had just sat down at one of the picnic benches when a car full of men pulled into the parking lot, according to Bee archives. At least four men got out of the car and began fighting with Gallardo. Within minutes, he was shot. The suspects got back into the vehicle and drove away. Solorio Mendoza and three others were identified as suspects in Gallardo’s murder in June 2017. Authorities arrested Jorge Delatorre then and issued warrants for Solorio and two others. Tony Aurelio Gutierrez Macias, 28, was arrested in Mexico in March 2020 and extradited back to Stanislaus County. His case is still pending. Multiple federal and state law enforcement agencies including the FBI and ATF joined the search before Boykin was found in a wooded area about 600 yards from the bank, according to WLBT. A 205-pound man who sucker-punched a 12-year-old boy who was dancing on a Missouri street corner last summer has been sentenced to 7 years in prison, The Smoking Gun reports.
Cedric Moore, 28, was caught on video exiting a vehicle and sneaking up behind the boy who was identified as Ethan Hagler, and striking him on the side of the head, sending him falling to the pavement. Moore then runs back to the vehicle and leaves the scene. Just before the attack as he was approaching Hagler, Moore could be seen mocking Hagler by doing a dance of his own. Hagler was taken to the hospital with bleeding from his nose and head and was treated for his injuries. Moore pled guilty to the attack earlier this month. He was charged with felony assault. (Black) Crime: ‘He killed him, burned him’: Details in homeless camp murder
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — New court documents reveal gruesome details of a homeless encampment murder investigation in Northeast Portland.
Aaron David Christopher is facing a second-degree murder charge and a first-degree abuse of a corpse charge in connection with the death investigation.
The name of the victim has not been released by authorities. The probable cause affidavit, which was filed by the Multnomah County district attorney’s office on Thursday, stated that officers headed to the scene of a homeless encampment near NE 78th Avenue and NE Schuyler Street on Tuesday evening just after 5 p.m. after a woman called 911 screaming “he killed him, he burned him.” When they arrived, they found the woman in the homeless encampment nearby, which is also near the freeway, and the woman told them she knew the victim and Christopher, who were both homeless, and that they had had “various arguments” that very morning. She allegedly told officers she had left the camp to clear her head for about 30 to 45 minutes, but when she returned, she noticed someone had started a fire and there was lots of smoke, and that Christopher was standing over the fire pit, which had a number of tree branches on top of the pit. She then told officers when she approached the fire pit, “she also saw a hand sticking out from under the wood of the pit,” according to the court documents, which added she saw Christopher ran away after she had tried to prevent him from running away. The woman also told police that Christopher told her another camper named “Shawn” was responsible, but she told officers the other man “was harmless and would never hurt anyone,” according to the affidavit. When an officer went to the fire pit, they found the body of the victim had been “badly burned” on portions of their body, according to the court documents. “The smoldering was coming from the head area and the body’s arms were raised toward the head,” according to the affidavit, which stated police also noticed the body had “cut or puncture wounds” on the victim’s left side. A knife with blood was also allegedly found. Christopher, 40, was quickly found by officers, according to the court document, and that as officers approached him, he dropped a jacket he was carrying. Christopher was arrested by officers, and then allegedly told officers “his friend’s girlfriend told him to leave because it was too crazy,” according to the affidavit. Officers allegedly found “several knives” on Christopher, along with a lighter and a small can of WD-40, which is a potential accelerant. Police said they also found what they believe is a makeshift fire poker out of a PVC pipe with a knife blade attached, and that one end of it “was charred and partially melted.” The other camper named Shawn, later identified as Shawn Eborall, was eventually found in his tent. According to the affidavit, he told investigators he saw Christopher standing over the fire pit as flames grew, but added the fire pit was often on in order to keep people in the camp warm and didn’t think it was unusual seeing Christopher there. A "Minnesota" MIGRANT mother is facing charges of attempted murder after prosecutors say she attacked two of her three children with an unspecified object, resulting in both youngsters being hospitalized.
Details of the case against the suspect, identified as Sadiyo Ibrahim Mohamed , 32, of Woodbury, were spelled out in a "probable cause" statement issued by authorities in Washington County.
One of the children required emergency surgery after suffering a skull fracture, brain bleeding, broken ribs, a lacerated kidney and other injuries, the statement said. After her arrest, the woman claimed to have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and to have been off her medications for a couple of months. She claimed to be suffering from paranoia and hallucinations in recent days and believed her children had been "playing games on her," according to the statement. She blamed the alleged attack against the children on her medical condition and claimed she had been hospitalized in the past for mental health reasons, the statement said. According to the statement, police in Woodbury – located just east of St. Paul – received a 911 call around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday about a woman chasing after a screaming child. When the officers approached the woman, she appeared to be "staring off into the distance" and repeating a phrase in a non-English language. The woman, later identified as Mohamed, was handcuffed and placed inside a patrol car – and then handcuffed again after she managed to slip her arms free, the statement said. The child heard screaming was 6 years old and appeared to have a broken arm, according to the statement. Officers then heard witnesses alerting them about a 5-year-old child lying on the ground nearby. That child was found to be bleeding from a head wound and from other, lesser injuries. A TEENAGER has today appeared in court charged with conspiracy to murder a Black Lives Matter activist blasted in the head at a party.
Sasha Johnson, 27, was left fighting for life after being shot at the bash in Peckham, South East London, on Sunday morning.
Cameron Deriggs, 18, today appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court charged with conspiracy to murder. The teen spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the brief hearing. He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on June 25. Deriggs was one of five men aged 17 to 28 quizzed on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday. The remaining four have been released on bail until a date in late June. Self-styled 'Black Panther of Oxford' Sasha remains in a critical condition in hospital. It comes after cops were scrambled to the shooting, which was close to a house party, at around 3am on Sunday. A man aged in his 20s suffered a superficial knife injury during the incident but has been discharged from hospital. She had previously been a vocal supporter of the campaign to remove the statue of Cecil Rhodes from Oxford University. She also called for the police to be defunded following the death of George Floyd in the US and wants reparations to be made to black people in Britain via tax breaks. (Black) Higginsville man, 44, charged in double fatal shooting Sunday in Independence
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man is accused in the May 23 murders of a man and woman found shot in an SUV in Independence, Missouri.
Steven B. Turner, 44, of Higginsville, Missouri, is charged in Jackson County Court with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
Independence police officers found Billy M. Davis and Ashley D. Walker in a bullet-riddled SUV with its driver's side and rear windows shattered by gunfire, according to a court document. The shooting happened behind a house on Huttig Avenue and police found the SUV nearby after it collided with the front end of a parked car. One person told police Turner was friends with Walker and often helped her with her utility bills, a court document states. Turner and Davis did not get along and police were told Turner shot at Davis twice — once at a Northland hotel and at Davis's residence in Kansas City, Missouri. The court document states shell casings recovered at the shooting scene matched shell casings in five other incidents in the area, including a homicide in September 2020. Police found Turner at a Kansas City, Missouri, apartment building. He threw a gun out the window, but detectives found the weapon. Turner later told police he received a call the morning of May 23 from an unknown number, the document states. The caller told Turner that Davis was at a house in Independence and it would be a good time to shoot him, the document states. Turner said he saw Davis sitting in the running SUV in the backyard of the house. The court document states Turner told detectives he stepped outside the house and shot 17 times at the SUV. He also told detectives and others he did not know Walker was in the SUV when he opened fire. (Black) Fayetteville man charged in shooting death of pregnant woman, unborn child
The Fayetteville Police Department charged a man in connection with the killing of 22-year-old Ashanti Bellamy and her unborn child after she was left to die in a roadway on May 17.
Officers found Bellamy suffering from a gunshot wound in the roadway on the 800 block of Ridge Road along with her boyfriend, Gharen Terry. Both were taken to a hospital where Bellamy would later die and the boyfriend would be released after treatment.
Raymond Earl Holmes Jr., 41, of the 6000 block of Abbots Park Drive in Fayetteville, was charged with first-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon. Police said he was arrested without incident by the Fayetteville Police Department and members of the United States Marshals Task Force. Holmes is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond. The Bellamy family spoke to Eyewitness News over the phone and say that the arrest of Holmes is bringing some closure. Teresa, Bellamy's mother, said her daughter was fun, energetic and still had the rest of her life ahead of her. Fayetteville police are trying to find more information about a shooting that killed a pregnant woman earlier this week. A newly obtained arrest warrant reveals Bellamy and Terry were physically attacked by Holmes and another suspect near the Ryder Court area on May 17. It goes on to say that Holmes and the other suspect forced the two into a black Mercedes with Holmes getting into a Gold Lexus to follow the other suspect to the Ridge Road area. There, the report, which is Terry's eyewitness account, states that he and Bellamy escaped from the Mercedes. That's when Terry tells police Holmes started firing his weapon in the direction of the two of them. Terry was shot but able to get away and survived his injuries. Bellamy was hit and collapsed in the roadway, dying from her injuries along with her 6-month-old unborn baby. District Attorney Billy West was at Holmes' first court appearance on Friday afternoon. "Terrible and tragic situation. Two lives lost in this situation, another person injured," West said. |

A teen boy and a woman are both behind bars in the shooting death of a 40-year-old man in Fayetteville, authorities said.
Laticia Ramon Brown, 28, and Tyliek Saheem Gillespie, 16, were both charged in the death of Eric Robinson, who was shot during a robbery and later died in the hospital on the early morning of April 17 along the 2000 block of Osceola Drive. Both were arrested without incident and are now being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond. Gillespie, of the 100 block of Hill View Street, was charged with first-degree murder and felony conspiracy. The Fayetteville Police Department said he is being tried as an adult due to being previously convicted as an adult in an unrelated case. Brown, of the 5000 block of Starbeam Drive, was also charged with first-degree murder and felony conspiracy. |

Some mothers of Black sons and daughters killed by police officers are criticizing the Black Lives Matter national organization amid controversy over co-founder Patrisse Cullors’ lavish lifestyle.
"It’s all a facade," Samaria Rice, the mother of 12-year-old Tamir Rice, who was killed by a White police officer in Cleveland in 2014, told the New York Post on Saturday.
Rice said she requested Cullors' help in re-launching a federal investigation into her son’s death. But short of exchanging a few emails, her pleas never garnered face time with the Black Lives Matter executive director. "They are benefiting off the blood of our loved ones, and they won’t even talk to us," Rice said. Cullors announced her departure after a five-year reign earlier this week following reports she had purchased four homes for $3.2 million. Hawk Newsome, the head of Black Lives Matter Greater New York City -- a separate group -- called for an "independent investigation" into the national organization's finances. Cullors said her decision to step down was not tied to the controversy, but to instead focus on her second book and a television deal with Warner Bros. But some frustrated Black mothers have accused the organization of profiting off their "dead loved ones." In a March statement, Rice joined Lisa Simpson -- the mother of 18-year old Richard Risher, who was fatally shot in 2016 in Los Angeles – in condemning the Black Lives Matter movement for "monopolizing and capitalizing our fight for justice." "We never hired them to be the representatives in the fight for justice for our loved ones murdered by police," the mothers wrote. The mother of Breonna Taylor, a Kentucky Black woman shot and killed by police during a raid on her home, said the group's national standing has yet to help her following her daughter’s death. "I have never personally dealt with BLM Louisville and personally have found them to be fraud," Tamika Palmer wrote in an April Facebook post, The Post reported. |

As it turns out the suspects were also black The owner was convinced that video footage was the safest way to discover who was behind the vandalism acts, so he put up surveillance cameras to capture images of the attackers. Only 24 hours later, he got a nasty surprise. He showed the footage to WRAL's Gilbert Baez. In the video two young men who appear to be black are seen trying to steal one of Haynesworth's cars. The owner said his vehicles were damaged, with several paint scratches and broken windows. A clue that tipped police off that this was not a legitimate white supremacy incident was the fact that the threatening symbols were not accurately painted, with one of the arms done backwards. |

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGET) — Prison guards allegedly falsified reports the day a man was found decapitated in the cell he shared with convicted murderer Jamie Osuna, according to a report from the Office of the Inspector General.
Two officers at Corcoran State Prison allegedly falsely reported they saw Luis Romero alive during their rounds at a time when Romero was already dead, according to a report slamming the investigation conducted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Romero, 44, was beheaded and stabbed in the eye, and other parts of his body were removed in the March 9 slaying. Osuna wore parts of his body as a necklace and admitted to grisly slaying. “A third officer and a fourth officer allegedly did not report that they had each observed the first two officers fail to properly conduct the counts,” according to the report. “The first officer also allegedly lied during his Office of Internal Affairs’ interview.” The Office of the Inspector General report says the special agent who conducted the investigation failed to interview several key witnesses and didn’t look into whether officers appropriately placed Osuna and Romero together. Osuna had previously told media nothing give him more pleasure than killing. A lawsuit filed by Romero’s family say the prison ignored protocol requiring a committee to evaluate two inmates being celled together. It also lists the facility’s failure to conduct safety checks. |

Austin police still searching for 20-year-old HISPANIC suspect in deadly March shooting 
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The mother of Christopher Ray Martinez, who died after being shot in southeast Austin on March 21, is urging the public to come forward with any information they may have — in hopes of catching the suspect believed to have fired the weapon.
“All I want is justice for my son, Chris. My son was taken away from me way too soon. I miss my son very much and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him,” Christopher’s mom Joyce Martinez said Tuesday. The shooting happened in a parking lot located in the 2200 block of East Riverside Drive, just east of the H-E-B store on Interstate 35. When officers arrived, they found the 40-year-old Martinez with gunshot wounds. South Buffalo parish removing memorial of accused priest Stanton
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Monsignor William G. Stanton spent more than two decades as pastor of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in South Buffalo.
He died in 2004, but the church’s stained-glass windows and bronze memorial plaque stand as symbols of Fr. Stanton’s legacy of being open to change in the Catholic Church.
But now a new sort of change is coming as a parish comes to grips with allegations that Stanton was a child abuser. Two memorials to him in the rear of the church -- a bronze plaque and framed vestments -- will soon be taken down. “That was very fulfilling to me,” said Kevin Brun, an abuse survivor and member of the Buffalo Survivors Group, which advocates for victims of child sexual abuse. “I think it’s a very important first step if we’re going to implement real, tangible change within the Diocese of Buffalo." Brun first approached leaders at the former St. Ambrose, which is now named Our Lady of Charity Parish. Soon after, the parish council voted unanimously to remove the plaque, Fr. Steven A. Jekielek, the church’s pastor, confirmed to 7 Eyewitness News. “The courage that they showed, to look to their conscience and their moral fiber and come to a decision that’s right and just...I’m hoping that other parishes in Western New York who have similar memorials will follow suit,” Brun said. Stanton was vice principal at the now-closed Bishop Turner High School in the 1960s, where most of the abuse is alleged to have taken place. One man came forward in 1993 to allege sexual abuse in high school and Stanton denied the allegations. Another came forward in 2008, also alleging sexual abuse in high school in the 1960s. After the sex scandal broke in 2018 under former Bishop Richard J. Malone, two more men filed lawsuits in State Supreme Court, alleging abuse when they were 14 and 15 years old. According to court records, Stanton is also accused of abusing an 8-year-old girl at St. Bridget’s Church in Newfane, where Stanton was assigned in the 1970s, before he came to St. Ambrose. He is also accused of ordering a 12-year-old altar boy to fondle himself as Stanton masturbated himself from behind at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School in Niagara Falls in 1952 or 1953. Later, he allegedly struck the boy so hard that he lost hearing, court documents stated. |

Jurors in the trial of an illegal immigrant charged with the brutal 2018 murder of Mollie Tibbetts found Cristhian Bahena Rivera
guilty of first-degree murder on Friday in a case that drew national attention because of the suspect's immigration status.
The verdict was announced Friday afternoon after a two-week trial in Davenport, Iowa, in which Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 26, faced the first-degree murder charge for which he was convicted. After the verdict, prosecutor Scott Brown said the Tibbetts family was "relieved" and pleased with the decision. Jurors reached their decision after deliberating for just over seven hours. Excluding the alternates, the jurors ranged in age from 19 to 71. The panel was made up of five females and seven males, of which three were of Hispanic descent and nine were White. Juror Robert Reed told Fox News the panel was confident in its decision, noting that the charged nature of the case didn't play a role in the outcome. "I think especially for a lot of us, it was very emotional," he said. "What we really had to do is put all of our emotions to the side. And that's not what it was about." Bahena Rivera, who came to the U.S. illegally from Mexico as a teenager, will be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, which is a mandatory sentence upon conviction. He will be held without bond pending a July 15 sentencing hearing. Defense attorneys Chad and Jennifer Frese said they plan to appeal the jury's decision on their client's behalf. "Anytime you have a client who gives a statement like he did, and the fact that there was DNA evidence in the trunk and the fact that he led them to the body, it makes it extraordinarily difficult," he told reporters after the decision was announced. Frese said the decision to have Bahena Rivera testify "wasn't as difficult as a lot of people want to make it sound." He said the testimony his client provided during the trial "was exactly the version of events he told us going back to August 2018." "He had never varied from that version of events, not one, not one detail," Frese said. "We thought the jury needed to hear directly from him." During closing arguments, prosecutors urged the jury to convict Bahena Rivera, 26, for the death of the University of Iowa student, citing "overwhelming evidence" that tied him to the killing. The defense rested its case Wednesday after Bahena Rivera testified that two men killed Tibbetts and forced him to transport her body in his car and threatened to harm his family. Brown called Bahena Rivera's testimony "a figment of his imagination." He argued that Bahena Rivera drove past Tibbetts, 20, as she was running on July 18, 2018 in Brooklyn, Iowa and made advances towards her. When she rebuffed him, he got angry, Brown said. He then killed her and hid her body in a cornfield, he said. "He's coming up with something totally new," Brown said of the Bahena Rivera's testimony after the verdict. Defense lawyer Chad Frese said his client gave authorities a false confession that was coerced. He noted that investigators never found a murder weapon or produced witnesses showing where Tibbetts was killed. Detective Stephen Arnold succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained on January 26th, 2016, while serving a search warrant and arrest warrant in the 3500 block of Douglas Street in New Orleans.
He and other members of a DEA Task Force had knocked on the home's door and announced themselves but did not receive a response. As they forced entry into the home the wanted subject opened fire from inside, striking Detective Arnold five times. The man was taken into custody and pleaded guilty to federal charges as a result of the narcotics investigation and of shooting Detective Arnold. Detective Arnold remained in a coma until passing away from his wounds on May 23rd, 2021. Detective Arnold had served with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office for 12 years and was assigned to the DEA Task Force. He is survived by his parents and two sisters. (Black) Hammond woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing
HAMMOND, La. (WVUE) - A Hammond woman was arrested today due to her involvement in a physical altercation last night that turned into a stabbing, police say.
De’Monica Butler, 23, got into a physical fight and allegedly used a knife to stab the victim multiple times.
The victim was transported to North Oaks Medical Center where she was treated for serious injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery. Police say that officials from North Oaks reported the crime after receiving the victim for care. Today, detectives obtained and executed an arrest warrant for Butler and she was officially charged with attempted second-degree murder. The investigation is ongoing, authorities say. TEMPE, AZ — A man has been arrested in connection to the death of a 13-month-old boy who died in 2019 in Tempe.
According to Tempe police, Khairee Ammar Patton was watching his recent girlfriend’s child while she was at work on January 9, 2019.
While responsible for the child, Patton took him to the Cardon Children’s Hospital after he claimed the boy had hit his head on a stereo and became unresponsive. The child eventually died from his injuries. Police were notified of the incident after a doctor said the boy’s injuries were not consistent with Patton’s claim. Doctors believed the child’s injuries were consistent with abuse. On Tuesday, Patton, a member of the US Army, was arrested at an Army base in Ft. Hood, Texas for an outstanding felony warrant in the case. Patton will be extradited from Texas to Arizona on charges of second-degree murder, two counts of child abuse, and failure to provide care. |
Phoenix police arrest BLACK alleged SERIAL RAPIST connected to six assaults
PHOENIX — Phoenix police have arrested a man believed to be connected to at least six sexual assault cases dating back to 2016.
According to police, 48-year-old Kedrin Wardell was most recently connected to a sexual assault that occurred on July 7, 2020. Police say a woman was sexually assaulted near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road.
Wardell, who matched the victim’s description of the suspect, was located nearby and detained. DNA evidence was then collected from both the victim and Wardell. On May 21, 2021, Phoenix police were notified that DNA testing was able to match Wardell to the 2020 sexual assault, as well as three others that happened between 2016 and 2019. Police also connected Wardell to two other sex assaults without DNA evidence. Details on those two cases were not made available. |

The final two inmates of the six who escaped from the Merced County Main Jail on Jan. 9 were apprehended on Friday morning, according to the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.
Jorge Barron, 20, of Atwater, and Manuel Leon, 21, of Vallejo, were captured in Glendale, Ariz. around 11:30 a.m. with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Glendale Police Department, according to a social media post by the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.
Barron and Leon will be transported back to Merced. Barron and Leon were two of six inmates who escaped from the downtown Merced County Main Jail by gaining access to the roof of the jail and used a handcrafted rope to scale down the side of the building. Edgar Ventura, 22, of Portland, Ore., was the first inmate captured on Jan. 12 without incident in the Firebaugh. Ventura turned himself into the Firebaugh Police Department after being encouraged by family members to turn himself in, according to officials. Later that day, Fabian Cruz Roman, 22, of Los Banos, and Andres Nunez Rodriguez, 21, of Planada, were apprehended in the San Diego area as they tried to make their way to the U.S./Mexico border. Virginia police arrest (black) suspect in shooting that left military couple dead
Edward McDaniel Jr. and Brenda McDaniel were named as the husband and wife military veterans and physicians who were shot to death in their front yard in Springfield, Virginia, in a mysterious double murder described as “heinous” by the police chief.
Kevin Davis, Fairfax County police chief, called it a “brutal murder….It’s a tragedy. It’s something that shouldn’t happen… we need to bring this person to justice. We still need to identify this killer and get him off the street.” Davis said the gunman is “likely still local.” By May 27, 2021, police announced they had two suspects in custody; they were searching for a 20-year-old suspect earlier in the day. They did not release additional details. “The vehicle of interest in the Flint St. homicide, a 2018 Nissan Altima, was located thanks to a community tip. A second person of interest was taken into custody. Ronnie Keandre Marshall has not yet been located, call 911 with information,” police wrote. A Connecticut man accused of killing his wife confessed to kneeling on her neck until she stopped breathing, claiming that they were in a violent fight over guinea pigs that he gave her as a present, police said.
Tahj Hutchinson, 22, told authorities that a fight with his wife, Jessica Edwards, 30, over Mother’s Day weekend turned physical at their South Windsor home, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. He said that the couple was bickering because Edwards wanted to go to the nail salon and he had given her guinea pigs as a gift, the Journal Enquirer reported. More than three weeks after Beaumont Police arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a homicide, a Jefferson County Jury on Wednesday indicted him on suspicion of murder.
A grand jury indicted Bradley Konning, 24, in the murder of Lizeth Carpio, his 32-year-old wife, according to a Jefferson County indictment documents.
Beaumont police found Carpio’s body April 29 outside of her home with an upper-body gunshot wound the 2500 block of McFaddin Street in Beaumont. Beaumont EMS pronounced her dead on the scene. During Beaumont PD’s investigation, they found a witness who said she was on the phone with Carpio before Konning arrived to Carpio’s home, according to a probable cause affidavit. The witness advised Carpio to call the police. The last thing the witness heard while on the phone with Carpio, was “Bradley (Konning) is here,” before the phone disconnected, according to a probable cause affidavit. He was arrested in late April Konning is being held on $1 million bond. |

Two Century residents were charged after an alleged altercation involving a sword and a baseball bat earlier this month.
Mariah Brianna Moore, 29, and Justin Eugene Moore, 22, were both charged with felony aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. The relationship between the two, if any, was not specified in Escambia County Sheriff’s Office reports.
A male and female were at their mailbox in the 4000 block of Highway 4A when Mariah Moore started a verbal argument before throwing rocks at the female, according to an arrest report. The male victim threw a rock back at Mariah Moore, at which time Justin Moore exited a residence with a bat at hit the male three or four times, the report continues. Mariah Moore then cut the female victim with what deputies described as a small “samurai style sword”, The female victim was transported to Jay Hospital; the male victim was treated on scene by Escambia County EMS. Dunbar was already charged with stealing $15,000 while he worked at Wells Fargo, and obtaining citizenship through a sham marriage.

Police bust muslim parolee 'Mohamed ' who broke into Brooklyn grocery store
A 37-year-old parolee was busted by police after he allegedly broke into a Park Slope grocery store early Wednesday morning, sources said.
Mohamed Shoman is accused of trying to steal over $4,000 worth of property from Union Market on 7th Avenue, according to sources.
Police responded to the location at about 2 a.m. when a store alarm was activated — and at first, they could not find an intruder, sources said.
But while checking security footage, officers saw Shoman hiding out in a crawl space (like a rat, like a snake), according to sources. When police confronted the suspect, he was armed with what appeared to be a gun, but ended up being an imitation firearm, sources said. “I am not going back to jail, you have to shoot me,” Shoman told police, according to sources. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A Florida-based group of Romanian nationals stole $740,000 from hundreds of churches by taking donation checks from their mailboxes and cashing them, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Wednesday.
Four people were arrested and two others are wanted in what authorities are calling “Operation Thou Shalt Not Steal.”
The group was based in Orlando but traveled throughout Florida and other states stealing checks, investigators said. In all, authorities identified 636 churches that were victims, including 355 in Florida. “This low-tech yet well-organized effort to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of mailed-in charitable donations — at a time when donations may have been most needed — has been stopped,” FDLE Commissioner Rick Swearingen said in a news release. Tyler Terry, the South Carolina man who was arrested in connection with four murders after a weeklong police search, appeared in court Tuesday.
Terry is accused of killing four people from May 2 to May 15 across two states. The victims are Eugene Simpson, 33; Thomas Hardin, 35; Barbara Goodkin, 71; and Sergei Zacharev, 58. A police search for him was launched after he got into a high-speed chase with Chester County deputies on May 17, during which he allegedly fired at officers, the Chester County Sheriff's Department said at the time. FROSTPROOF, FL — An inmate at the Polk County Jail has been accused of killing his cellmate by stomping on him inside their cell May 13, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
"John Smith", 36, severely stomped Shaun Seaman, 40, in their shared cell at the South County Jail in Frostproof, authorities said. The stomping caused the victim to bleed and go unconscious. A detention deputy saw that Seaman was severely injured during a routine check on inmates. Seaman died at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center May 21. PHOENIX (AP) — A suspect has been arrested in two fatal stabbings last year in Phoenix, according to authorities. Phoenix police said 48-year-old Major McKenzie
was taken into custody Tuesday on suspicion of two counts of second-degree murder. He’s jailed on a $2.5 million bond.
It was unclear Wednesday if McKenzie has a lawyer yet who can speak on his behalf. Court documents show McKenzie was accused of stabbing an unidentified victim 12 times on May 31, 2020. Authorities said items found near the scene were submitted for DNA testing and show McKenzie and the victim were there. Police said the second stabbing occurred on July 5 and a 37-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his chest. SPANIC Alleged NJ taxi thief face-plants when trying to run from cops 
An alleged car thief face-planted when trying to run from cops in New Jersey — and he was left with bruises and an eye swollen shut, his mugshot revealed.
The man and a pal boosted a taxi from Union City Tuesday afternoon and cops tracked the 2008 Crown Victoria a few towns north, cops told the Daily Voice.
Fairview cops tried to stop the stolen taxi at Anderson and Day avenues when the driver, Aliaga Guillermo, slammed on the gas and t-boned a small SUV, cops said. Guillermo ran away but tripped and face-planted, leaving his face bruised and cut up, cops said. Luis Flores, 23, who was in the passenger seat, was arrested as well, and both were charged with aggravated assault while fleeing law enforcement, resisting arrest and receiving stolen property, according to the report. The two women in the SUV were treated for minor injuries at Hackensack University Medical Center, cops said. Border Patrol agents in the Del Rio Sector in Texas arrested 10 convicted sex offenders in a single week as they tried to get into the U.S. illegally -- the latest batch of criminals nabbed by agents at the border.
The arrests were made between May 17 and 24, Border Patrol said in a statement, with nationals from Honduras and Mexico among those arrested. The convictions of those apprehended include forcible sexual assault, sexual assault of a child under 14, sexual conduct with a person under 13, statutory rape, second-degree sexual assault of a child, and lewd and lascivious acts with a child. "The majority of these criminals were apprehended in our sector’s most remote areas, attempting to avoid detection by crossing far from populated areas," Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Austin Skero said in a statement. "Our agents’ sign cutting and tracking skills were instrumental in capturing these criminals, preventing them from infiltrating our communities." The arrests come days after Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that agents near Abrams, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran man who had been arrested in Washington for the rape of a child and later convicted and sentenced to 34 months in prison and community service. |

Cops are investigating claims that a 19-year-old man was HOMOsexually assaulted in Central Park early Wednesday, police said.
The alleged victim told cops he was walking inside the park just before 1 a.m., at West 77th Street and West Drive, when he saw five men sitting on a park bench, police sources said.
The men then got up and followed the alleged victim, he told cops. He said he fell and was sexually assaulted by two of the men. The alleged victim said the five male suspects, all about 30 years old, ran off after the incident. The victim crossed paths with police as he left the park and did not report what had happened, according to police sources. But he soon came across transit cops and first said that he was robbed — before later claiming that he was raped, the sources said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, cops said. 3 blacks arrested in I-220 homicide and shooting of young girl; police believe cases are connected to ongoing drug feud
(BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - The Bossier City Police Department is announcing the arrest of three people allegedly connected to two separate cases: a homicide on I-220 and a young girl shot in the leg in Golden Meadows. Both cases happened in January of 2020.
On Jan. 17, Sheniquel Sade O’Neal, 29, was found shot to death in her car, which had crashed on I-220 near Airline Drive. On Jan. 30, a young girl was shot in the leg after shots were fired into a home in the 5000 block of Honeysuckle Lane in Golden Meadows. After more than a year of investigating, Bossier City detectives have arrested Roger Hicks in connection with both crimes. Hicks is facing numerous charges, including first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. Hicks was identified as a suspect in the Honeysuckle Lane case and was arrested on three counts of attempted first-degree murder in late February of 2021. Three people were home at the time of the shooting, police say. Hicks was later linked to the I-220 homicide case. Aaron Simmons, 26, and Tamara Green, 31, were also arrested in connection with that case. Simmons is charged with first-degree murder, while Green is charged with accessory after the fact and failure to report certain felonies. Police say both cases as suspected to be linked to an ongoing feud over illegal drug activity. |

A Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a 28-year-old Center Point man in last year’s shooting death of a teen at Jefferson County apartment complex.
Antonio Nichols II is charged with capital murder in the Nov. 9, 2020 slaying of 18-year-old Ja’Mari Demetrius Harris. Nichols remained at large for several weeks after the deadly shooting before he was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Nov. 23, 2020 where he remains held. Harris was killed Monday, Nov. 9, at Park Brook Apartments. Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies arrived to find Harris unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:33 p.m. A motive in the deadly shooting has not yet been released. The charge is capital because, according to the indictment, the fatal shots were fired from within a vehicle. Harris grew up in the Clay area and had attended Clay Chalkville High School. He was planning to go back to finish his degree and had hoped to move away from Alabama to join his sister in Texas. “He wanted to make a better life,’' his sister, TaNysha Mitchell, told AL.com shortly after the homicide. “He actually just worked all the time to save money so he could leave.” Harris lived with his mother and stepfather not far from the apartment complex. His best friend lived at Park Brook and his sister said that’s likely why he was there. “He loved his family and he always made sure everyone was OK,’' Mitchell said. “He was just full of life. He wanted nothing but the best for everyone and when he could help someone, he would. He was the best.” |

A former UAB football player has been indicted in the shooting death of a nursing student less than a week before Christmas.
A Jefferson County grand jury issued the indictment against 23-year-old Carlos Stephens on May 6, and the indictment was made public Tuesday. He is charged with capital murder in the Dec. 17 fatal shooting of 20-year-old Destiny Washington during the sale of AirPods in the parking lot of UAB’s student center. Stephens has been held without bond since his arrest on Dec. 21, 2020. Stephens was a standout football player at Thompson High School, and then went on to play at UAB for his freshman year where he also excelled on the field. He was still a student, but no longer playing football, at the time of his arrest The shooting happened about 9:40 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, in the parking lot of UAB’s Hill Center at University Boulevard and 14th Street South. Washington was with her boyfriend and were there to sell someone – a person police now say was Stephens – a pair of Airpods. Family said the boyfriend realized the money was fake and began to drive off and that’s when the suspect fired a shot into the vehicle, striking Washington. Prosecutors claim Stephens fired on a vehicle in which Washington was a passenger after the sale of the Air Pods, a deal brokered through Facebook messenger, went bad. Stephens’ attorney claims Stephens fired in self-defense after he saw that Washington’s boyfriend was armed with a handgun. The boyfriend drove Washington to Children’s of Alabama – the closest hospital - where she was pronounced dead. |
Suspect (with middle name 'JIHAD') jailed in slaying of 68-year-old man on Midfield porch
A suspect has been charged in a shooting last week that left a 68-year-old man dead.
Marquis Jihad McCullum, 27, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail early today. He is charged with murder in the May 17 death of Sherman Edward Cornette.
Midfield police and fire medics responded at 1:19 a.m. that Monday to McCullum’s residence in the 100 block of Creel Street. Cornette was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:27 a.m. Midfield Police Chief Jesse Bell said McCullum awoke to hearing a noise and found Cornette on his front porch. It doesn’t appear the two men knew each other. Some kind of confrontation took place, and Cornette was fatally shot. Bell said detectives presented the evidence to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, which deemed murder to be the appropriate charge under the circumstances surrounding the shooting. McCullum was jailed at 1:48 a.m. and remains held on $100,000 bond. PASADENA, Texas – A man is dead after authorities said he was shot multiple times by his ex-wife Tuesday afternoon outside a business in Pasadena.
The Pasadena Police Department said Samantha Sherdrail Washington, 31, has been charged with murder in the death of Kirk Gregory Jr., 28.
The shooting was reported in the parking lot of SBM Life Science in the 3000 block of Pasadena Boulevard. Police said the couple shares a child together. Police said Washington was taken into custody after leading a brief chase near Yellowstone and Pansy Street. It is unknown if the child was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting. |

A shocking new video shows a pair of armed thieves shoot a man who tried to fight back during a robbery in The Bronx, cops said Tuesday.
The violent episode unfolded around 8:30 p.m. on May 16 when two thugs pulled guns on a 31-year-old man and a 38-year-old man outside 1534 Selwyn Ave., cops said.
One of the gunmen pistol-whipped the younger man and grabbed a bag with roughly $2,500 inside from the other, according to police. The 31-year-old can be seen fighting back in the video, punching one of the gunmen in the face. But he tripped while running around parked cars and tumbled into the middle of the road, the video shows. Laquai Barrett, 31, was arrested May 20 after police say he attacked a woman outside her Buckhead gated community, dragged her into her garage and tried to rape and strangle her.
The victim, who gave her harrowing account to Channel 2 Action News, fought back and was able to run inside and trip her alarm system. Barrett stole her cell phone before running away and police were able to use an app on the victim’s phone to track him down and arrest him in a nearby park. CADDO PARISH, La. (KSLA) - A 38-year-old man is facing life imprisonment after being convicted of raping a child.
On Friday, May 21, Broderick Dewayne Crawford was convicted by a Caddo Parish jury of first-degree rape. The decision from the seven-man, five-woman jury was unanimous. The jury determined on July 21 or 22, 2019, Crawford forced an 11-year-old child to perform certain sexual acts upon him. The mandatory sentence for first-degree rape is life in prison without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. Crawford is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Chris Victory on June 21. |

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - Detectives in Bossier City are asking for the public’s help finding a man accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl back in 2019.
Bossier Crime Stoppers posted on Facebook Tuesday, May 18, saying in January of 2020, the Bossier City Police Department got a report about the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl, which reportedly happened in the 200 block of Colquit Street in Bossier City during the week of Thanksgiving in 2019. During the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued in September of 2020 for Mason Jemar Johnson, 21, on the charge of first-degree rape. Officials have been unable to locate Johnson and are asking for the public’s help. |

A quick-thinking operator managed to stop his F train about 30 feet from a man who was pushed onto the tracks at a Queens subway station Monday morning.
Subway operator Tobin Madathil told The Post that he was pulling into the 21st Street-Queensbridge station around 7:45 a.m. when he jumped into action once he thought he saw something in his path.
“Right when I was coming into the station people were waving at me, and that’s when I immediately placed the train into emergency mode,” Madathil, 29, said in a phone Monday phone interview. Moments earlier, a crazed suspect had shoved the Asian male onto the tracks — the latest in a spate of attacks in the city’s subway system. Madathil said he was able to bring his train to a stop about 10 yards from the man. “I’m glad I was able to stop on time and didn’t hit the guy, thank God!” the operator said. About the same time, good Samaritans from the platform were also helping the victim up, according to Madathil. “I exited the train and went to the victim. He was bleeding from the head,” recalled Madathil. Madathil said he called the subway control center and requested medical attention. Soon after, EMS and police arrived, he said. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with a cut on his forehead. Two years into being a train operator, Madathil explained how he always tries to be ready for the unexpected. “I just try to stay focused at all times when I operate, just watch the tracks and platform, just be alert,” he said. The suspected subway shover remained on the loose Monday. During the attack, he said something to the victim, who did not understand him, cops said. A man was arrested and accused of yelling anti-Semitic remarks at a rabbi and dumping a bag of human feces at a South Florida synagogue.
Jeffrey Carl Fleming, 39, was arrested in connection with the crimes that occurred between Friday and Sunday, according to the Hallandale Beach Police Department.
Police say a man went on a rant outside the Chabad of South Broward on Friday. He dumped a bag of feces in front of the synagogue and yelled, "Jews should die," according to a police report. He also spat at a menorah near a sidewalk. Fleming has been charged with stalking with an enhancing charge for a hate crime and for littering human waste, police said. HISPANIC man accused of ramming vehicle into crowd, killing his mother 
HOUSTON – The man accused of ramming his vehicle into a group of people at a Katy restaurant and killing his mother appeared before a judge Saturday.
Homero Lopez is facing several charges in connection with the crime. Authorities said there were seven or eight people arguing in the parking lot of Pinchy’s Tex-Mex when Lopez rammed into the group, killing his mother, 35-year-old Crystal Gómez, and injuring multiple others.
According to authorities, Lopez fled the scene but later returned and was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to stop and render aid and one count of murder. The 20-year-old appeared before a judge just before 1 a.m. where the judge ruled that his case did have probable cause to move forward after hearing arguments from both sides. During the court hearing, the judge set a bond of $40,000 for both failure to render aid charges and $50,000 for the murder charge. Lopez must also surrender his passport if he has one and his travel is restricted to Harris County or nearby counties. Border officers find $35K worth of heroin stashed in MEXICAN woman's crotch
More than two pounds of heroin was found stashed in a woman’s crotch this week at a checkpoint south of Tucson, Border Patrol agents say.
Agents at the Nogales Station were working the Interstate 19 immigration checkpoint Wednesday afternoon when the heroin was discovered during an inspection on a shuttle bus.
An agent detected a foreign object in the woman's groin area during a body search, an agency news release said. It turned out to be a package of heroin. The estimated value of the package was estimated at $35,000. |

US embassies around the world will soon fly the flag of Black Lives Matter and campaign against “global racial justice,” expanding the global export of wokeness as official policy that began with the rainbow banner of LGBT+.
George Floyd was killed a year ago on Tuesday, and the Black Lives Matter message has since become official diplomatic policy of the US. That’s according to a memo sent out to US embassies by Secretary of State Antony Blinken last week, and revealed by conservative magazine Human Events on Monday. Critics have alternately described BLM as “anti-white,” “Marxist,” “anti-police” and “anarchist” – the latter designation used by both critics and supporters alike. Confusion aside, the organization’s goals are apparently so inseparable from the official policy of the White House, that the State Department is taking them worldwide. |

BLACK-ON-WHITE: Officer-involved shooting suspect had history of domestic violence
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WICS/WCCU) — Two Champaign Police officers were shot early Wednesday morning.
One of the officers and the suspect who allegedly shot them have died.
The second officer is in stable condition.
The suspect accused of killing Officer Chris Oberheim — 24-year-old Darion M. Lafayette of Champaign — was killed in an apparent exchange of gunfire.
This wasn’t the first time Lafayette has been in trouble with the Champaign Police Department. According to the Champaign County Circuit Clerk's Office, back in 2017, Lafayette faced charges of aggravated domestic battery - strangulation, domestic battery - physical contact, and criminal damage to property ranging from $500 to $10,000. But that's only the beginning. In July 2018, Lafayette was charged with possession of meth and possession of a controlled substance. Then in 2019, Lafayette was charged with another aggravated domestic battery - strangulation charge, plus additional charges of domestic battery - bodily harm and endangering the life or health of a child. (Black) Crime: Arrest made, more expected in mass shooting at N.J. house party that killed 2, officials say
One man has been charged with firearms violations in the shooting that killed two people and wounded 12 at a house party Saturday night in Fairfield Township, authorities announced Monday morning.
More arrests and charges in the case are expected, local and state authorities said at a Monday morning press event led by Gov. Phil Murphy.
Kevin K. Dawkins, 36, who lives on Commerce Street, the same street where the party took place, is charged with four gun crimes, one that accuses him of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. “This was a targeted attack,” Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said. Investigators recovered multiple firearms at the scene. He identified the two victims who died as Asia Hester, 25, and Kevin Elliott, 30. Grewal, Webb-McRae and State Police Superintendent Col. Patrick Callahan declined to elaborate on the investigation, discuss a possible motive or say if gangs were suspected in the incident. Callahan said state troopers responded to a noise complaint at a nearby party on King Drive earlier Saturday and some of the partygoers then went to the gathering, a birthday party, in the 1000 block of East Commerce Street. A trooper concluding a traffic stop at about 11:30 p.m. heard the gunshots, thinking it was fireworks, and responded as 911 calls started arriving at a dispatch center reporting a shooting. (Black) CRIME: 20-year-old woman kidnapped, beaten, raped after meeting up with man from dating app
Johnston County, N.C. — A 20-year-old woman told authorities she was brutally beaten and raped on May 14 in Johnston County after meeting up with a man she had just met on a dating app.
Kanijah Nigel Crisp, 23, from Garner was arrested five days after the assault and is being charged with first-degree forcible rape, first-degree kidnapping, attempted first-degree forcible sex offense and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
The woman agreed to meet a man after talking with him online. She told authorities she never got that man’s name, and law enforcement officers did not say how they connected Crisp to the crime. The woman said she went to an address off of Buffalo Road. There, she was hit in the head repeatedly and beaten with a weapon, according to officials. Officials say the woman was forced to drive her assailant back to his neighborhood after the attack. The woman now has a skull fracture and serious injuries. After she was beaten and raped, the man stole money from her online using her cell phone, officials said. (Black) Suspect identified after exchanging gunfire with NYPD in Bronx stickup
Police identified the man who allegedly exchanged gunfire with officers after sticking up a Bronx cellphone store last week.
The suspect, identified by police Sunday as Calvin Peterkin, 39, allegedly got into a dispute with employees at Boost Mobile on East 174th Street near Bryant Avenue in Crotona Park East around 6:20 p.m. May 19, authorities said.
He pulled out a gun and menaced the employees, cops said. Responding cops encountered Peterkin outside the store, where he allegedly shot at them. Two officers returned fire, but Peterkin took off and remains at large. It was unknown if he was hit by gunfire. The officers were not struck. Peterkin has five prior arrests for robbery, assault, criminal sale of a controlled substance, forgery and theft of service in the subway, police sources said. He is around 5 feet 11 and 200 pounds. A violent fight broke out midflight on Spirit Airlines this week.
It is unclear what caused the fight or if anyone was arrested.

An Asian man was pushed onto the subway tracks in front of an oncoming train in Queens Monday morning, according to cops and police sources.
The 36-year-old victim was at the 21st Street-Queensbridge F train station around 7:45 a.m. when another man shoved him, according to authorities and the sources.
The train went into emergency mode and didn’t hit the victim, police sources said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center with a cut on his forehead. The suspect, who is black, said something when he attacked, but the victim didn’t understand him, cops said. The crime is being investigated as a possible bias incident, according to police. The suspect, who fled to the street, is described as a man between 20 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 11, last seen wearing a mask over his face and a black hooded sweater and black pants. New York City - Mayor De Blasio to kneel in honor of St. George Floyd on anniversary of death
Mayor Bill de Blasio will join (Negro) faith leaders in Harlem to kneel in tribute to St. George Floyd on the one-year anniversary of his "suicide by drug overdose) death on Tuesday.
The tribute will last for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, the length of time that then-police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck while he was under arrest in Minneapolis.
The event, which is hosted by the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN), will also call for the passage of the George Floyd Justice and Policing Act in the US Senate. The legislation would ban chokeholds and do away with “qualified immunity” for law enforcement. |

UK BLM leader shot in head after ‘numerous death threats,’ party says
A UK activist known as the “Black Panther of Oxford” is fighting for her life after being shot in the head following “numerous death threats,” according to her (racist gang of domestic terrorist thugs).
“It is with great sadness that we inform you that our own Sasha Johnson has sustained a gunshot wound to her head. She is currently hospitalized and in a critical condition,” the Taking The Initiative Party wrote Sunday about the attack in south London. Johnson was shot after a party, and London’s Metropolitan Police said it was not connected to the death threats.
