TEXAS RANGERS ON MANHUNT on for BLACK detective wanted for MURDER of 2 Hispanic woman and a black man was under investigation for raping a child - "ARMED AND DANGEROUS" 
AUSTIN, Texas — A 41-year-old man is wanted in the fatal shooting of three people in Austin, Texas, and police officials searching the surrounding area Sunday warned residents that the suspect might take a hostage.
Interim Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon said the suspect, Stephen Broderick, was considered armed and dangerous. He asked area residents to continue to shelter in place and to call their neighbors to check on them.
“We are concerned he might possibly take a hostage and be himself sheltered somewhere waiting for us to leave,” Chacon said during a news conference Sunday afternoon. He said Broderick is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and Black. He was wearing a gray hoodie, sunglasses and a baseball cap. Chacon said Broderick is suspected in the killing of two Hispanic women and one Black man. He said Broderick knew the victims but didn’t elaborate on how or provide a motive for the shootings. Chacon also said a child was involved but that the child has been located and is safe. The Austin-Travis County EMS said it has received no reports of victims other than the three adults who were shot dead. EMS spokeswoman Capt. Christa Stedman said the first 911 call came in at 11:44 a.m. Chacon said the three were not shot in a building but did not give any further details. Images from the scene showed a large presence of emergency responders, including dozens of police cars. There are also several ambulances and two SWAT trucks at the scene, and two police helicopters. The area includes a strip mall containing several retail stores and large apartment complexes situated near wooded rolling hills. Josh Katzowitz, who had been shopping at the nearby Trader Joe’s, said police and ambulances came “pouring in” to the area as he was leaving. He didn’t hear any shooting. “The cops had their guns out,” he said. “Some had pistols, some had rifles and they were strapping on bulletproof vests. (Black) Maryland man charged in DC shooting that killed 2 women, injured another
WASHINGTON (7News) — The man accused of killing two DC women and injuring another is now in custody, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Keanan Turner, 32, of Forestville, Maryland, faces two counts of first-degree murder while armed, as well as an assault with intent to kill while armed charge. Authorities said the deadly shootings were premeditated.
The incident happened Monday night in the 2300 block of Good Hope Court SE. DC Fire and EMS responded to the home after a report of a fire, but law enforcement was called after crews discovered shooting victims. Officers found one woman with a gunshot wound in the parking lot. Emergency personnel took her to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities then found two other women at the scene; one was pronounced dead at the home, while the other passed away at the hospital. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the victims as Wanda Wright, 48, and Ebony Wright, 32, both of Southeast, DC. Officers also found a 3-month-old child inside the home, the department said. Authorities arrested Turner in Stafford, Virginia Friday. A 17-year-old St. Louis man was charged with murder Saturday for the shooting death of a Ghanian Lyft driver who had immigrated to the United States and was saving up to bring his children over as well.
Torian Wilson has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action for the killing of 45-year-old Elijah Newman, who was found dead late Thursday night in his car from a single gunshot wound to the torso.
Police tracked Wilson from his email address, which had been linked to a series of recent carjackings of ride-sharing drivers, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The teenager was taken into custody with a gun that matched a bullet casing found near Newman’s body. “We are heartbroken by this tragic incident and our hearts are with Elijah’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” Lyft said in a statement. “Safety is fundamental to Lyft and we stand ready to assist law enforcement with any investigation.” Elizabeth Hylton, who has been friends with Newman since 2002, before he moved from Ghana, told the Post-Dispatch that he had been driving for Lyft while applying for information technology jobs in the area. He had been living with her since moving to Missouri from New Jersey earlier this year. “He was as very much a hands-on father as he could be living here, and...all he wanted to do was to set his kids up for generational wealth,” she said. |

Anthony J. Thompson Jr. was identified by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as the Austin-East Magnet High School student in Knoxville, Tennessee, who was killed in an officer-involved shooting. A Knoxville Police officer, Adam Willson, was also injured, but police said Thompson did not shoot the officer, according to their early investigative findings. Thompson was 17.
Law enforcement officers from multiple departments were called to the school at about 3:15 p.m. Monday, April 12, after the report of a male possibly armed with a gun, according to the Knoxville Police Department. Knoxville Police Department identified the officers involved as Lieutenant Stanley Cash, Officer Jonathon Clabough and Officer Brian Baldwin. They have been placed on temporary administrative leave, per the department’s policy, and Willson is recovering. A Tennessee Bureau of Investigations statement Wednesday, April 14, said “the student’s gun was fired” during a struggle after officers entered the restroom, and law enforcement fired twice. TBI said it was not the student’s gun that struck Willson, according to their preliminary investigation. TBI did not say how the officer was shot. |
Ex-wife of BLACK suspect in NYPD Molotov attack says he suffers from mental illness
EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn — A Connecticut man accused of throwing a chemical in an officer’s face and launching a molotov cocktail at a police vehicle in Brooklyn will face federal charges, an NYPD spokesperson said Sunday.
Lionel Virgile, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Saturday morning after he led police on a chase through East Flatbush and crashed into a parked SUV, officials said.
The melee began just before 8 a.m. near Clarendon Road and East 45th Street, authorities said. When police pulled over Virgile, 44, for allegedly running a red light, authorities said he threw an unknown chemical substance in an officer’s face and took off. The officers called for back-up and chased Virgile’s car to Snyder Avenue, where he stopped, got out of his car and threw a lit molotov cocktail at an NYPD vehicle, police said. The molotov cocktail didn’t hit the vehicle and shattered on the ground, according to police. Further down Snyder Avenue, police said Virgile’s vehicle hit a parked SUV and officers took him into custody. While searching his vehicle, officers found three more molotov cocktails, according to police. The officer who was hit with the chemical substance was treated for chemical burns and blurry vision at a hospital, police said. The NYPD and Police Commissioner Dermot Shea tweeted a video showing the moment the substance was thrown at the officer. “This is another reminder of how quickly a situation can change, [and] the dangers your cops face every day while they’re protecting [New Yorkers],” Shea wrote. “Even after arrest, the investigation into this attack remains active. KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- A sheriff's department official in Wisconsin says three people are dead and two are seriously injured following a shooting early Sunday at a tavern.
Kenosha County Sgt. David Wright says the shooting happened at Somers House Tavern in the Village of Somers. around 12:45 a.m.
The two people who were wounded have been taken to area hospitals. The suspected shooter has not been captured. He is described as black, over six feet tall, and wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt. NEW YORK, NY — A Manhattan man who was charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing attack in New York City last week was also arrested in Central Islip in March after he was accused of attacking a deputy of the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office, officials said.
Quandale Linton, 26, stabbed a man with a knife and chased him in the middle of Madison Avenue in East Harlem on April 8, the New York Police Department said. Linton dropped the knife as officers arrived, and he was taken into custody, News 12 reported.
Linton was charged with attempted murder, assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. Linton was previously arrested March 10 in the parking lot of 1st District Court in Central Islip, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office said. A deputy approached the car and asked Linton if he needed assistance, the sheriff said. Linton opened his car door into the deputy and then attacked him, putting him in a chokehold, the sheriff said. Linton was taken into custody when other deputies arrived, the sheriff said. Linton was charged with second-degree felony assault with intent to cause physical injury to an officer, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. Linton was released from court the next day, the sheriff said. Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon Jr. slammed the New York state bail reform guidelines, which were passed in April 2019 and enacted Jan. 1, 2020. "Linton would still be held in the Suffolk County Correctional Facility were it not for the bail reform legislation enacted by the NYS Legislature last year," Toulon Jr. wrote in a statement. "This legislation did not make our communities safer, as evidenced by the recent actions by Mr. Linton. "Judges used to have some discretion on whether or not an individual should be held on bail," Toulon Jr. said. "This suspect was given a court date and told to come back for court. GAITHERSBURG, MD — A Clarksburg teenager has been arrested for the shooting death of 23-year-old Javon Jamal Gordon.
Montgomery County police say Rodjaun Orlando Neal-Williams, 19, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with Tuesday's incident in Boyds.
The event unfolded in the 12900 block of Ethel Rose Way around 6:52 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Gordon, of Ethel Rose Way, lying in the street and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body, according to a press release. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation by detectives determined that Jamal Gordon, who was on foot, and the suspect, a passenger in a vehicle, had a verbal dispute. Police say the suspect then brandished a handgun and shot Gordon. |

The father of the teen busted with an AK-47 assault rifle inside a Times Square subway station was a felon who was killed in a shootout with Ohio police last month.
Andrew Teague, 43, was shot and killed by authorities in Columbus, Ohio, on Mar. 5 following a wild pursuit on Interstate 270.
Authorities were trying to arrest Teague for a felonious assault warrant related to a Feb. 2 incident before the deadly encounter, cops said. Police pursued Teague for more than an hour, and in an attempt to flee, Teague drove the wrong way on I-270 and ultimately struck two other vehicles head-on within minutes. Chief Deputy Jim Gilbert of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said Teague then got out of the vehicle and exchanged gunshots with a Columbus police officer and a deputy, WBNS-TV reported. Teague — who had a lengthy rap sheet, including arrests for weapons possession, domestic violence, burglary and drug trafficking — was killed in the shootout. Investigators recovered a gun at the scene. (Black) CRIME: Two arrested in shooting of 1-year-old in Newark, including child’s mother
NEWARK — Two people, including a 16-year-old male, have been arrested in the shooting of a 1-year-old in Newark Monday, police said.
Police had initially said that the child was 2 years old but in a press release Saturday, stated that the victim was a 1-year-old.
The infant, two other teenagers and an adult male were in a vehicle Monday in the area of 14th Avenue and South 6th Street when the child’s mother got into a dispute with the 16-year-old which Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara called “senseless.” Detectives arrested the 16-year-old after seeing video footage of him firing at the child’s mother, Tytaneisha Wilder of East Orange, who initially pointed a handgun at the group she was arguing with. Wilder’s handgun was found on April 12 and she was later arrested. She faces three charges of child endangerment, aggravated assault and two counts unlawful possession of a weapon. The 16-year-old faces five counts of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. Ricardo Hernandez, 32, approached the undercover officer on the N train subway platform at 31st Street and 39th Avenue in Queens, shoving the cop at around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.
“That’s why you people are getting beat up. I got nothing to lose,” Hernandez allegedly told the cop, whose name and gender are being withheld. “I will f–k you up!” the deranged suspect yelled. “This is my house!” Hernandez, who lives just a few blocks from the Long Island City subway station, was quickly arrested and charged with harassment, aggravated harassment, and menacing, all as hate crimes. It’s at least the second time this month an Asian undercover officer was attacked. The one-time Northern California home of a use-of-force expert who testified for the defense at the murder trial of ex-cop Derek Chauvin was vandalized over the weekend — with a pig’s head and blood, police said.
Police said in a statement that they believe the Santa Rosa house was targeted because it was once the home of Barry Brodd, a retired cop who testified last week at Chauvin’s murder trial in the death of George Floyd.
“It appears the suspects in this vandalism were targeting Mr. Brodd for his testimony,” the department said. “Mr. Brodd has not lived at the residence for a number of years and is no longer a resident of California.” “Because Mr. Brodd no longer lives in the city of Santa Rosa, it appears the victim was falsely targeted,” the statement said. Police said they were called to the house shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, and found a severed pig’s head on the front porch and blood smeared on the front of the house. Cops also believe another vandalism attack about 45 minutes later was carried out by the same people. In that incident, a statue of a large hand in front of Santa Rosa Plaza was found smeared with animal blood, with a sign reading, “Oink, oink” left at the scene. |

Dalton School’s Jim Best announced he was leaving Friday to pursue “other exciting and inspiring opportunities” after 16 years at the school. His departure came after months of controversy at the Upper East Side academic bastion over the school’s “anti-racism” focus. At the same time, a father at the equally prestigious, $54,000-a-year Brearley School sent a scathing, nearly 1700-word letter to the institution’s roughly 600 families over Brearley’s “obsession with race.” The letter by Andrew Gutmann, first published in Bari Weiss’ Substack, explained why he was pulling his daughter out of the Upper East Side school after seven years. She started there in kindergarten. “It should be abundantly clear to any thinking parent that Brearley has completely lost its way,” Gutmann wrote. “The administration and the Board of Trustees have displayed a cowardly and appalling lack of leadership by appeasing an anti-intellectual, illiberal mob.” He went on to say that he objects “to the view that I should be judged by the color of my skin. I cannot tolerate a school that not only judges my daughter by the color of her skin, but encourages and instructs her to prejudge others by theirs. “By viewing every element of education, every aspect of history, and every facet of society through the lens of skin color and race, we are desecrating the legacy of (communist, white prostitute addict) "Dr". BLACK-ON-WHITE: Suspect in Canton shooting death of (white) Bob Evans waitress in police custody
CANTON – A Bob Evans employee who dialed 911 can be heard telling people to "get down, tell them to get down" after a gunman fatally shot a waitress Friday morning in a domestic dispute.
When the dispatcher asks whether anyone has been shot, she says she doesn't know. She and the others are hiding under tables.
"We can't get out. We're scared." She says she's worried about another employee who ran into the back. She thinks the gunman is that employee's boyfriend. "Just stay calm and stay quiet," the dispatcher says. What happened at Bob Evans in Canton? Richard J. Nelson, 54, of Canton, is accused of walking into the business at 3400 Lesh St. NE at 9:30 a.m., going behind a counter and opening fire, shooting waitress Rebecca Jean Rogers, 38, multiple times in a back hallway. He then fled the scene. Rogers, who most recently lived in Massillon, was taken to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital where she later died from her injuries. Authorities say it was a domestic (sex)-related shooting. Nelson was arrested around 8:30 p.m., southeast of East Canton. Police Chief Jack Angelo said a Canton police dog nabbed Nelson following a foot chase near U.S. Route 30 and Neimans Avenue SE. The U.S. Marshals Service, Stark County Sheriff's Office and an air unit from the Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted in his capture. 
Police looking for info about Bob Evans shooting The gunman remained at large for hours before being caught and police had asked the public for tips about the shooting. Nelson and Rogers had been in a(n interracial sexual) relationship, but recently separated, Angelo said Friday. Rogers had filed a police report against Nelson in March 2017 after he entered her home. Nelson was charged with stalking by menacing and burglary and taken to the Stark County Jail, according to court records. But later, Rogers was found guilty of filing a false police report in the case. Angelo described Nelson as "clearly a dangerous person" before he was located. Nelson has a criminal history. He went to prison in 2000 after leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen SUV and fighting with the arresting officer and the arresting officer's K-9, according to court records. He also previously had been charged with felonious assault and domestic violence several times, but grand juries opted not to indict him in those cases. 'As tragic as this is, it could've been far worse' About a half dozen customers and six to eight employees were inside the restaurant when the black started shooting. In one of the 911 calls, a customer reported hearing four or five shots. "All of us just went running out. There were some older people and my husband just made sure they got out." And in yet another call, a woman tells another dispatcher that she is with another waitress, who can be heard in the background. The waitress tells her that the gunman "aimed for" Rogers. A Zulu 'prince', 29, who once appeared on South Africa Idol has been shot dead by cops in Hawaii after he allegedly charged at officers who were responding to a 911 call claiming he had followed a woman into her home.
Lindani Myeni, a married father-of-two from the Zulu Kingdom in South Africa, was shot and killed Wednesday evening by Honolulu Police officers during an apparent home invasion incident in the Nuuanu neighborhood.
Police said Myeni, who lived nearby, followed a woman into her home, took off his shoes and exhibited 'odd' behavior. Myeni, who is black, then allegedly assaulted the three police officers who arrived on the scene with the police chief saying their 'lives were in jeopardy', before the cops fired four shots at him. One cop was hospitalized with major facial injuries and concussion following the incident while the other two also sustained injuries, police said. But Myeni's family has cast doubts on this version of events, with his American wife saying he was not a violent person and suggesting his actions may have been the result of cultural differences after he moved to Hawaii in January. They are accused of taking the lives of African American transgender "women" (WASMEN) Jaida Peterson, 29, and Remy Fennell, 28, in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States.
On April 4, 2021, Peterson was fatally shot at at the Quality Inn off Queen City Drive in Charlotte. Born in Florence, South Carolina, USA, "she" was an alumna of Hartsville High School in Hartsville, Darlington County, South Carolina and McBee High School in McBee, Chesterfield County, South Carolina. On April 15, 2021, Fennell was fatally shot at the Sleep Inn on North Tryon Street in Charlotte. "She" was originally from Hampton, Virginia, USA. On April 16, 2021, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department officers arrested Brewer and Long. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 35-year-old Kansas City man is now facing charges for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend to death.
Anthony D. Jones has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Michelle Long, prosecutors said Friday.
On Thursday, police were called just before 10 a.m. to an apartment at 98th Terrace and View High Drive in Kansas City for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found Long dead on the floor, court records say. Large contusions on her body made her “mostly unrecognizable,” police said. Police originally reported this as a suspicious death, but later Thursday upgraded it to a homicide investigation. A tipster called 911, identifying Jones as the suspect. While investigating, police learned that Long’s car was missing from the apartment complex. Detectives tracked it down to a KCK apartment complex not far from Jones’ listed address. Late Thursday, Jones called 911, providing his location and said he wanted to turn himself in. When asked why, Jones said, “Murder,” according to charging documents. Police arrested the 35-year-old. In an interview, Jones said Long was a former girlfriend, but he didn’t know why police wanted to talk to him, only that family told him police were looking for him. When detectives showed him recent social media posts between he and the victim, he laughed. He also denied knowing how her vehicle ended up at his mother’s house after the murder. A Pine Bluff woman was arrested on suspicion of killing her 15-year-old son at their residence March 27 and was charged Friday with first-degree murder in Jefferson County District Court.
Gwendolyn Spencer, 34, was arrested on a warrant and booked into the Dub Brassell Detention Center just before 6 p.m. Thursday. She stood before District Judge John Kearney in an arraignment hearing Friday morning. Police obtained a search warrant from Kearney for Spencer's residence at 1504 E. 42nd Ave. on the morning of March 27. Detective Chris Wieland wrote in an affidavit that officers located a spent Winchester 9-mm Luger shell casing in the laundry room, where Spencer reportedly told officers she found her son, identified as Dominic Pullum in the affidavit, collapsing. Police did not identify Pullum in a news release of the incident, saying he was a minor. |

Kristen Summer filed the Manhattan Supreme Court summons against the 30-year-old ex-NBA player Friday.
The brief two-page summons says Summer’s case “arises from assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and gender motivated violence” involving Morris. The case does not include a civil complaint — where detailed allegations are normally laid out — and does not elaborate on the accusations. Morris’s ex-girlfriend, Kristen Evangaline, recently came out on Instagram with graphic photos and videos of domestic violence that she claimed Morris committed against her last April, the Florida New Times reported. It was not immediately clear whether Kristen Evangaline and Kristen Summer are the same person. Morris was arrested in April 2020 on charges of assault, harassment and obstruction of breathing or blood circulation involving a woman. In the 2020 incident, Morris allegedly repeatedly kicked and hit the unidentified woman and put his hand over her mouth, according to a criminal complaint. The woman was left with bruising, swelling on her face and right ear and had a chipped tooth, the complaint alleged. Morris was also charged with violating an order of protection against the victim when he showed up in the hallway outside her apartment a few weeks after the alleged attack, according to a separate criminal complaint. A Miami-area woman was charged in federal court with making threats to kill Vice President Kamala Harris in a series of videos she sent to her husband in prison, authorities said.
Niviane Petit Phelps, 39, sent five 30-second videos and two photographs to her husband back in February through a service known as "JPay," which is used to share media between incarcerated and non-incarcerated individuals, according to a Secret Service complaint. "The videos generally depict Phelps complaining and speaking angrily to the camera about her hatred for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, among others," authorities said. "However, in those videos, Phelps also made statements about killing Vice President Harris." In one video from Feb. 13, Phelps said that Harris was "going to die" after "someone paid me $53,000 just to f--- you up," according to the complaint. In another from Feb. 14, Phelps claimed she was going to a gun range "until you f------ leave the chair," officials said. And in a video from Feb. 18, she said Harris would die in 50 days, according to the complaint. Authorities said a photo from Feb. 20 showed Phelps at a shooting range smiling while holding a pistol next to a target containing bullet holes. Two days later, she applied for a concealed weapons permit, according to the complaint. Democratic state Rep. Jewell Jones with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and weapons possession following a Tuesday collision on Interstate 96 in Fowlerville, according to local reports.
Police initially arrested Jones, 26, on April 6, and he had a virtual arraignment hearing on Friday via Zoom, according to Fox 2 Detriot. "The defendant's dangerous driving spanned from Southfield from Fowlerville, Michigan, where eventually his car was located in a ditch off of I-96," Livingston County prosecutor Carolyn Henry said during the hearing. The drive from Fowlerville to Southfield is approximately 50 miles. Jones' blood-alcohol level was allegedly twice the legal limit and he resisted arrest when police arrived. Law enforcement also discovered a Glock in the glove compartment of his vehicle, according to Fox 2. Jones, who had a passenger, was "extremely uncooperative" with law enforcement and "confrontational" with paramedics, Henry said during the hearing. "It was further reported that he continued to be confrontational, uncooperative and using status of importance by flashing badges instead of the IDs being asked for by law enforcement," she added, according to Local 4 Detroit. The lawmaker was elected in 2016 and previously served on the Inkster City Council. He is reportedly also a National Guard member and an Inkster, Michigan, auxiliary police officer. JANESVILLE/WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) -- The family of a woman killed in a homicide at a Wisconsin Dells hotel has identified her as Kally Elliott of Janesville.
Jonathann Elliott confirmed to 27 News his mother was the woman found dead at The Vue Hotel in Wisconsin Dells on Feb. 14.
Jeremy Mondy, 34, has been arrested and charged with first-degree intentional homicide in Elliott's death. He's in the Columbia County Jail on $5 million bail. Mondy also faces charges of "domestic abuse" in Rock County. Authorities say Elliott was also the victim in that case. He was out on a signature bond when the homicide occurred. Jonathann Elliott says his mother's killing was an escalation of her being victimized nearly her entire adult life. "Definitely a victim of domestic violence," Elliott says of his mother. "There's no other way around it." "We went through (domestic violence), for the majority of life to be honest," Elliott says. "We went through it a long time, several different people," he says. "We want to make domestic violence more known than what it is because it's more serious than what everybody thinks it is," Elliott says. "It's gotten so bad, especially since the (pandemic)," he says. Court records show Mondy allegedly strangled Kally Elliott and threatened to kill her days before the Valentine's Day fatal violence. Jonathann Elliott declines to comment on his mother's relationship with Mondy, citing Mondy's on-going prosecution. Syracuse, NY -- Chavez Ocasio was automatically scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday in which his lawyer had the right to challenge his incarceration on a murder charge in the shooting death of 11-month-old Dior Harris.
But defense lawyer William Sullivan gave up Ocasio’s right to the hearing before court, sending the case to a grand jury.
It’s a standard path for a case to take toward trial, but attracted additional scrutiny given the wide interest in the case, which involves the youngest victim of street violence in the city’s history. ABuffalo man has been indicted on manslaughter charges in connection with the 2019 death of his 6-year-old foster child, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Jermaine J. St. John, 29, was arraigned Thursday in Erie County Court on charges of first- and second-degree manslaughter in the death of
Byron Clark, prosecutors said.
St. John is accused of recklessly causing serious injuries to the boy in his Newburgh Avenue home around Jan. 1, 2019. Clark was unresponsive when he was taken to Oishei Children's Hospital, where he later died. Authorities determined he died of blunt force trauma. St. John, who remains released on $50,000 bail previously posted in Buffalo City Court, is scheduled to be back in court June 3. St. John was initially arraigned in Buffalo City Court in September. Prosecutors received the final autopsy report on Clark's death in September 2019, a spokesperson for the District Attorney's Office said. |

DECATUR — The case of Malik O. Lewis, the Decatur driver who denies charges of fleeing from a head-on car crash in which one woman was killed and

Lewis, 24, appeared in Macon County Circuit Court on Thursday with his defense attorney, Paul Chiligiris, for what was scheduled as a status hearing.
Assistant State’s Attorney Elizabeth Pfohl told Judge Jeffrey Geisler that the case was heading for trial and Geisler then scheduled it for another hearing June 8. “Mr. Chiligiris, if you would come up with some type of agreement on this matter, certainly I can take care of it before that time,” said the judge. Such an agreement is likely to be some kind of a plea deal, and both sides will have much to discuss. The crash dates to the night of May 25 when the Macon County Sheriff’s Office says Lewis’s car collided with another vehicle at the intersection of North Jasper and East Condit streets. |

Upon arrival, deputies located a shooting victim within one of the apartments in the neighborhood. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to their injuries. The suspect, Dontavius Williams, fled from the scene. |

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s office charged a Lincoln Park woman with the death of her newborn Thursday.
Autumn Chenell Tate, 28, was arraigned in 25th District Court on charges of felony murder, first-degree child abuse and abandonment of a child.
She was remanded to the Wayne County Jail without bond pending her next court appearance on April 27. It was about 8 p.m. March 6 when Lincoln Park police were called to the 4000 block of Fort Street in Lincoln Park for a report on a suspicious situation. Upon their arrival, officers located a plastic bag with the deceased newborn inside. It is alleged that Tate gave birth beside the Ecorse Creek near her residence and then threw the infant into a garbage bag before abandoning him. Lincoln Park police described the case as "very disturbing and unfortunate." |

The accused killer whose vile rant at a Brooklyn judge led to his accidental release from Rikers Island has been captured after more than a month on the lam, law enforcement sources told The Post Friday.

CYPRESS, TEXAS - A Cypress man, accused of kidnapping an underaged girl and locking her in storage unit for several days, is now behind bars. Authorities worry there could be more victims.
Investigators say this was a man the family recognized.
34-year-old Joel Micah Arnold was arrested Wednesday, charged with three felonies: aggravated kidnapping, sexual assault and trafficking a child. Investigators say the disturbing allegations began on March 27 when Arnold kidnapped a 17-year-old girl from his Cypress neighborhood. "He had worked a relationship with her over time so there was a certain level of some comfort with him. He threatened to harm her sister if she didn’t go with him," said Alan Rosen, Harris County Pct. 1 Constable. Authorities say Arnold took the teen against her will to the Affordable Boat & RV Storage on FM 529 in Cypress and locked her inside the shed. The storage facility was located just down the road from their neighborhood. For the next five days, investigators say Arnold would tout his firearm, forcibly inject the girl with drugs and rape her until one day, she managed to escape. "He was talking on his phone or communicating and left it somewhere and she was able to reach out to a friend. He saw her doing that and got scared and fled and didn’t lock her in the shed. Thankfully and she was able to escape as well," Rosen said. Fortunately, the girl is alive and well. But investigators worry there are other victims too scared to come forward. "We found a lot of physical evidence on him of people’s ID's, credit cards, checks, of people that were random people. We want to make sure that after the public actually sees his picture that they weren’t in fact somehow victimized by him as well," Rosen said. Arnold's bond was set at $100,000 for each of the three charges against him, a total of $300,000. Rosen's message to parents is to get involved and monitor your children’s activities. Body camera shows struggle for gun before shooting of black resisting disarming at Hospital
COLUMBUS (WCMH) —
Miles Jackson, the man who was killed this week during a shooting at St. Ann’s Hospital, had a gun during the incident, Ohio’s attorney general said Wednesday.
Attorney General Dave Yost issued a statement that read in part:
“BCI’s investigation into the officer-involved shooting that occurred Monday afternoon at St. Ann’s Hospital remains ongoing. We can confirm through preliminary ballistic testing that the decedent [Jackson] had a gun and shots were fired.”
BCI, or the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation, is the lead agency looking into the shooting. Jackson was shot and killed in the hospital’s emergency room during an altercation Monday. According to Westerville and Columbus police, officers responded to a call of a man, later identified as Jackson, passed out in his vehicle. They requested medics, and the man was taken to St. Ann’s emergency room in Westerville, with the officers accompanying him. The Westerville officers learned that Jackson had domestic violence warrants out in his name, as well as a weapons under disability warrant in Franklin County, and worked to arrange a transfer of custody to Columbus police. Body camera video released Wednesday shows Columbus police officers searching Jackson’s pockets and putting property into bags for storage. During that search, officers discovered something hidden in Jackson’s shorts. Officer Ryan Krichbaum told Officer Andrew Howe to help him get Jackson’s hands behind his back. A struggle ensues, and a Taser is used on Jackson. During the struggle, a gun fired from Jackson’s pocket. Howe fired one shot, but his gun jammed. After the initial shots were fired, Jackson is down on the ground with officers pointing guns at him. Jackson is ordered to put his hands in the air several dozen times over the course of the next five minutes. Jackson old officers that he was leaning on the gun at one point. A Taser is eventually used on Jackson again. After the Taser was fired, a gun was fired, followed by a series of gunshots. Less than a minute after shots were fired, Jackson begins receiving medical attention. After Jackson is taken from the room, the body camera footage shows a gun left behind, covered in blood. A 16-year-old girl and her 18-year-old boyfriend are accused of murder in the death of her father, Daniel Halseth, whom they allegedly stabbed, tried to dismember and burned before fleeing in his car.
The pair’s goal was to run away together, and they made it as far as Utah from the family’s base in Las Vegas before being picked up in Salt Lake City, authorities said.
Aaron Guerrero and the daughter, Sierra Halseth, were charged with open murder, reported KLAS-TV, and extradited to Nevada, where they will be tried as adults. Open murder encompasses first-degree murder charges plus “all necessarily included offenses,” including second-degree murder as well as potential voluntary and involuntary manslaughter, depending on the specifics of the case, according to the Clark County, Nevada public defender’s office. Halseth’s body was discovered in a home last Friday when his mother sent a family friend to check on him after she couldn’t reach her son, Lt. Ray Spencer of Las Vegan police’s homicide unit told KLAS. Halseth had been stabbed to death and his body burned, police said, according to People. His daughter and her boyfriend were nowhere to be found, and neither was Halseth’s car. Police found a chainsaw, a circular saw and a hand saw inside the home, the latter item covered in blood, and tissue wedged between the teeth of the saw, People said. Surveillance video eventually outed the teens and revealed their activities, Spencer told KLAS. “There had been items purchased, such as lighter fluid, that was used to light the fire,” Spencer told the station. “There was also the purchase of a chainsaw and a circular saw and a handsaw, where attempts to dismember his body were made prior to the fire.” According to reports, Sierra Halseth’s parents had forbidden her to date Guerrero, and the two were running away together. MEXICAN-named Chicago man accused of using ‘large machete’ to fatally slash co-worker 
CHICAGO — A Chicago man is accused of using a “large machete” to fatally slash a co-worker at an auto body shop before hiding the body in the trunk of a Cadillac, prosecutors said Friday.
Martin O. Molina, 21, was charged on Friday with first-degree murder in the death of Felix Villalobos-Calderon, 42, of Chicago, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Villalobos-Calderon’s body was found in a silver Cadillac, along with a shovel, the newspaper reported. Cook County Judge Susana L. Ortiz ordered Molina held without bail during a court hearing live-streamed on YouTube, the Chicago Tribune reported. According to Assistant State Attorney Kevin DeBoni, Villalobos-Calderon suffered multiple deep cuts, including one to his neck that “nearly decapitated” him, the Sun-Times reported. Villalobos-Calderon was alone in the body shop working on his Toyota RAV4 SUV, which was on a lift when Molina arrived at 10:30 a.m. CDT, the newspaper reported. Villalobos-Calderon had unplugged the shop’s video cameras so he could use the outlet for something else, but the shop was equipped with audio surveillance, according to the Tribune. The man who allegedly gunned down a female construction worker in the Bronx earlier this week has been charged with her murder, police said early Friday.
Jose Everaldo Reyes, 66, of Melrose, allegedly pumped six bullets into 52-year-old Lizbeth Mass while she was on her lunch break at City Island Avenue and City Island Road around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to cops and police sources.
He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and charged Thursday with second-degree murder, manslaughter, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
He allegedly used a gun stolen from a housing cop who retired in 1988, police sources said. Reyes lived alone in the basement of a South Bronx building, where he cleaned and took out the garbage in exchange for free rent, his superintendent, Carlos Chancha, 45, said in Spanish Friday. People called him “Eric,” the super said. Chancha last saw Reyes on Monday, when “he seemed normal,” and he said he “never had a problem” with him in seven years. Neighbor Joyce Kuvi, 45, said she saw Reyes every now and then, most recently about a week ago. He sometimes shoveled her driveway, she said. “He’s a quiet guy, nice guy, so I didn’t expect that from him,” she said. Human Rights Watch parts with general counsel for N-word use during Columbia class
The international advocacy group Human Rights Watch parted ways with its general counsel last week after she repeatedly used the N-word during a class she teaches at Columbia University.
Dinah PoKempner, an adjunct professor, used the term 11 times in half a minute  while recounting a conversation to students during an April 1 Zoom session, the Columbia Spectator reported.
The decorated attorney, who is white , was discussing legal implications of hate speech at the time, according to the report.
During the lesson, PoKempner relayed an anecdote that included dialogue between a Ku Klux Klan member and a lawyer associate of hers.
“Unfortunately, the voices of the lawyer and his deponent were graven in my memory, and I did not edit as I spoke, using the original racist term,” she told the Columbia Spectator. “Students were understandably shocked, and they explained eloquently and patiently why they objected to use of the word.”

A Manhattan Family Court clerk was caught on a hot mic allegedly calling a black teenage defendant the N-word, according to the young man’s attorney.
The clerk, Donna A. Prainito, who is white , didn’t realize her microphone was on when she used the racial slur to refer to a 15-year-old in a virtual proceeding before Judge Jessica Bourbon Thursday, said his lawyer Holden Thornhill.
The incident occurred at the end of a plea proceeding when the judge directed Thornhill’s client to alert an Administration for Children’s Services staffer that the hearing was about to end. “He turns around to do that and as he does that his rear end is now in the camera, inadvertently,” Thornhill recalled in an interview. “He’s wearing saggy pants so we’re all looking at his drawers. The clerk in the part mutters at that point, ‘Look at this f–king [N-word] and his f–king pants. F–king m——-n,'” Thornhill recalled. “If you’re from New York and someone calls you a m——-n and you’re black you know you’ve been dissed. It has no pleasant connotation,” Thornhill said, referring to the Italian-American slur for a black person. “Not only did she call him a [N-word], but she called him a m——-n. Around 4 p.m. April 10, police were called to the scene of a hit-and-run on Newport Boulevard, south of 17th Street, with witnesses attempting to stop the drive from leaving. Responding officers found an injured 74-year-old man in the street. Paramedics treated the man before taking him to a local hospital, where he died, officials said. The victim was identified as Richard Frost of Newport Beach, the Los Angeles Times reported. Witness reported to authorities that after the victim was struck, he attempted to the stop the driver of the silver Chevy Malibu from leaving the scene. But the driver, later identified as Waithanji, allegedly continued driving. Waithanji was arrested by police a short time later in the parking lot of a nearby Los Alamitos bar. There was a female passenger in the car with Waithanji at the time of the incident, and she too was arrested, according to the L.A. Times, on suspicion of being an accessory to a crime. The DA’s office has not filed charges against her yet. Waithanji has three prior convictions for driving under the influence in Iowa, according to the DA’s office. He was also wanted on two other DUI warrants: one for a September 2019 case and another for an October 2019 incident. Delaware State Police say the baby was under the care of 19-year-old Dejoynay Ferguson at the Little People Child Development Center in Bear.
Investigators say Ferguson placed her hands over the victim’s mouth and nose and intentionally restricted her breathing until she became unresponsive. She then placed the baby back in her crib. Police say, about 20 minutes later, Ferguson alerted the day care owner that the child was unresponsive. CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) – A Marion man pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor after being charged with multiple counts of raping a 9-year-old.
In a plea deal on Monday, Quinton Leonard, 38, was given 15 years for a guilty plea to third-degree criminal sexual conduct before Judge Steven H. John. Leonard had been charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two other counts of criminal sexual conduct. In addition to that charge, Leonard also pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal sexual conduct and received a three-year prison sentence that will run concurrently. Fifteen years is the maximum sentence for the 2nd-degree charge. Leonard also must register as a sex offender and wear an ankle monitor for the rest of his life. The case involved the sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl in 2016. Horry County police investigated the case. The young victim told an agent with the Department of Social Services that when her mom left the home to go to work, Leonard sexually assaulted her. The woman told police that she was drinking a soft drink with her roommate and her roommate’s guests and that she tasted something funny in her drink. Feeling slightly off, she went to bed. Later, she woke to a man on top of her groping her and removing her clothing. She told him no as he continued but said she felt unable to fight him off. Video shows man firing on deputies after high-speed chase VILLA RICA, Ga. — Dashcam video released Wednesday shows a man opening fire on Georgia sheriff’s deputies and the deputies returning fire following a high-speed chase. Authorities have said two cousins from Birmingham, Alabama — 22-year-old Aaron Jajuan Shelton and 28-year-old Pier Alexander Shelton — led officers from several different law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase early Monday morning after fleeing a traffic stop on Interstate 20 about 45 miles (72 kilometers) west of Atlanta. Three officers were shot and wounded and Pier Shelton was killed by officers. After the cousins led police on a chase through Carrollton and Villa Rica, the Nissan Sentra they were traveling in went down a side road and crashed in a wooded area near a Villa Rica elementary school. Officers began setting up a perimeter to search for the two men, according to a news release from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Two sheriff’s deputies, Corporal Jamison Troutt and Deputy Jay Repetto, who were working to divert traffic in the area, were alerted to gunfire and were told a Villa Rica police officer needed assistance, the release says. As they drove down the side road and saw Villa Rica Police Officer Chase Gordy’s vehicle in the roadway, they received word that an officer was down. As they drove toward Gordy’s vehicle, the dashcam video shows a man, identified by the sheriff’s office as Pier Shelton, in the road walking toward their advancing vehicle. He lifts a rifle and opens fire, disabling the deputies’ vehicle and hitting Repetto in the arm. The deputies immediately returned fire, hitting and killing Shelton. That “stopped the threat in a matter of seconds,” allowing first responders to get to Gordy, who had been shot multiple times, the release says. Newly released police documents detail how security officers at a Las Vegas Strip hotel disarmed a knife-wielding man Thursday in a stabbing that left a California man with life-threatening injuries.
Las Vegas police said they arrested Chris Okoronkwo, 33, of Las Vegas, at the Cosmopolitan on suspicion of attempted murder, assault, and battery with a deadly weapon in a stabbing at the hotel at 5:04 a.m. Police said in an arrest report for Okoronkwo that a melee broke out on the 37th floor of the property between four men, leaving one man suffering from three stab wounds. Another man, also from California and who is over the age of 60, was punched and knocked unconscious during the fight. “The (stabbing) victim’s injuries required a tourniquet to stop the bleeding which could have resulted in death if not applied,” police wrote in the report. Police said an investigation showed the two victims went to their hotel rooms with two men and three women they met at the casino of the hotel. An argument then broke out, causing a Cosmopolitan security officer to respond to the scene. The security officer said they observed Okoronkwo punch the victim who is over the age of 60. That man fell and hit his head on a wall, knocking him out. Okoronkwo, police said, was then observed stabbing the second victim. “The suspect fled on foot toward two other security guards who were able to safely take him into custody,” police said. “As other security officers were taking him into custody, (the security officer) was able to disarm the suspect by grabbing the knife out of his hand.” The stabbing victim underwent surgery at a local hospital and survived. A 19-year-old woman accused of fatally shooting a Harvey man as she sat in the passenger seat of his vehicle told investigators she had been abducted before the killing and chased through a West Bank neighborhood afterward while a man ripped away her clothing, authorities say.
But Tyria Robinson's description of her alleged kidnappers as White and their vehicle as a van didn't match the homicide victim, a Black man, or his car, a sedan, according to homicide detective Donald Zanotelli of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. And witnesses saw Robinson shedding her own clothes off while fleeing the scene. "I told her there were numerous witnesses contradicting her statement," Zanotelli testified Tuesday during a probable cause hearing held in Magistrate Court. Robinson, a Harvey resident, has been booked with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice in the killing of Anthony Fefie, 27. They also found a gun on the floorboard of the front passenger side, and ballistic testing showed it was the weapon used to kill him, Zanotelli said. But witnesses told investigators that a woman had gotten out on the passenger side after the car hit the tree. "They said when she exited the vehicle, they could see she had blood spatter on the left side of her body," Zanotelli said of the woman, later identified as Robinson. Robinson reportedly told onlookers that the driver had passed out, then she ran to the nearby apartment complex, authorities say. She was seen discarding personal items, such as her phone, as she ran. She approached a male resident in the complex and "asked the witness if she could take a shower and offered him $1,000 for a ride Uptown," Zanotelli said. Other witnesses spotted the woman running through a nearby subdivision, still clothed, going in and out of open garages, the detective testified. "At that time, she was completely nude and running up the [Lapalco] bridge," Zanotelli said. Tustin police arrested a man this weekend on suspicion of a hate crime after he allegedly made racial comments against a woman and assaulted her in a park.
The suspect has been identified as Jauhar Tajuddin Shuaib, 42, of Irvine.
About 10 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call about a possible assault and battery along the 1600 block of Valencia Avenue, Tustin police said.
The victim told police that the suspect had made racial comments toward her and punched her in the abdomen. Authorities did not provide additional details about the victim.
She was able to pepper spray the suspect and he fled the scene before officers arrived, according to police.
Shuaib was located shortly after and taken into custody. He faces several charges, including hate crime, assault in a public park, sexually motivated annoyance and disturbing the peace. Police did not provide any additional details about the incident or charges.

5 (black) men arrested during Las Vegas prostitution operation
Las Vegas police on Tuesday announced the arrests of five men on suspicion of prostitution-related offenses.
Daryl Williams, 24, Jarell Jones, 38, Semaj Spencer, 26, Tramell Huff, 47, and Patrick Stauffenberg, 22, were arrested Saturday during an undercover operation with the Southern Nevada Human Trafficking Task Force, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release. Four of the men were arrested on suspicion of pandering, police said. Stauffenberg, who was identified by Metro as Patrick Stauffenberuffg, faces charges of loitering for purposes of prostitution and giving a false statement to obstruct a police officer, court records show. All the men were booked into the Clark County Detention Center, police said, but did not appear in jail records on Tuesday morning. Jaelynn Billups tried to rob Joshua Ungersma, 37, while he was delivering a pizza but shot him when he attempted to call police in Lafayette, Indiana, witnesses allege.
Two Lafayette cops responded just before 11.15pm to "shots fired" on August 31 in a residential area in the 1900 block of North 16th Street. The officers found Ungersma and another man, 19-year-old Alberto Vanmeter, dead on the road while Billups was at the scene. Vanmeter was found nearby with a Domino’s pizza box, two drinks and cash laying on the ground beside him. Vanmeter has since been revealed to have been Billups' boyfriend. Witness Patrick Gibson told police he heard gunshots and went outside to find Billups with Vanmeter. He said Vanmeter had been shot and Ungersma told him that the pair had tried to rob him and to call police. Gibson said he then saw Billups walk up and shoot Ungersma. Another witness also said they saw Ungersma ask for someone to call police and then Billups shot him, according to court documents. Officers said Billups was hovering over one of the victims when they arrived. She had also used the same phone number to order the pizza and drinks to an unoccupied home and to call 911 after the shootings, WISHTV reports. When she was ordered to show her hands, they say she threw a 9mm handgun onto the sidewalk and was then detained, WTHR reports. Police said Ungersma had a revolver in his pocket with the rounds fired. Billups faces a second murder charge of causing Ungersma to kill Vanmeter. HISPANIC Man pleads guilty as juvenile to murder of Santa Cruz girl
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (AP) — A 21-year-old California man pleaded guilty under juvenile justice terms to the murder of a neighbor girl in 2015.
Adrian Gonzalez entered the plea Tuesday in Santa Cruz as soon as the case was transferred to juvenile court, the Santa Cruz Sentinel reported.
Gonzalez was 15 at the time 8-year-old Madyson “Maddy” Middleton was killed. Santa Cruz County Superior Court Judge John Salazar said he had no choice but to remove the case from the adult court system due to juvenile justice reforms, the Sentinel reported. In adult court, Gonzalez could have faced two consecutive life prison sentences for murder, kidnapping, sexual penetration, two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior and intercourse with a minor, plus misdemeanor destruction of evidence. In the juvenile system, Gonzalez will be eligible for release at age 25. |

HISPANIC CRIME: Four men arrested after woman’s body found in car trunk in Far Rockaway 
Four men were busted as part of a long-term investigation into MS-13 activity in Queens after they were caught stuffing a woman’s body into the trunk of a car, law enforcement sources and police said Wednesday.
Officers spotted the men around 1:50 a.m. walking out of a home on Foam Place near Central Avenue in Far Rockaway, carrying a large, unknown object and putting it into the trunk, police said.
The officers followed the car and stopped it on the Nassau Expressway at Bayview Avenue on Long Island. That’s when they made the grisly discovery, finding a woman’s body — with severe trauma — in the trunk, according to cops and police sources. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The men were taken into custody, and it wasn’t immediately clear what charges they could face. The home on Foam Place had been under surveillance by Homeland Security Investigations for alleged ties to MS-13, the source said. “Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York, working with the NYPD and our law enforcement partners, made several arrests this morning pursuant to a long-term investigation into certain acts of violence in the Queens, New York area,” an HSI spokeswoman said Wednesday. “This case is ongoing and there is no further information at this time.” The city medical examiner’s office will determine the woman’s cause of death. During the stream, Sanchez allegedly walked up to the outdoor-seating area of a Flatiron District restaurant where two women were eating and said he was going to, “enhance their meal.” “Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar. Bomb detonation in two, in two minutes. I take you with me and I kill all you. I kill all you right now. And I kill all you for Allah,” Sanchez seethed at the women, according to court docs. “I’m gonna f—king do it for Allah,” he added. In a charging document, an FBI agent wrote that he reviewed a number of videos that showed Sanchez accosting other women on Manhattan streets, including one in which he praises Elliot Rodger, a self-proclaimed incel who killed several people in California in 2014. “F—k you, you b—ch. It’s cause of you, it’s cause of you that I’m a virgin — I have incel rage. You know what? Elliot Rodgers was good. Elliot Rodgers was a good guy,” he said in the video, according to the complaint. “I swear to God … They deserved to be run over and hit by a truck. Bernie Madoff, whose $65 billion Ponzi scheme made him one of the world’s most-hated criminals and destroyed even his own family, has died at the secure federal medical center in Butner, North Carolina, where he was serving a 150-year prison sentence, according to a report Wednesday.
Madoff’s epic stock fraud, which came to light amid the global financial crisis of the late 2000s and remains the biggest in Wall Street history, left more than 37,000 victims in 136 countries in its wake. He cultivated an air of exclusivity by tightly controlling access to the fund, while also employing one of the oldest tricks in the book — the affinity fraud — by primarily targeting the wealthy Jewish communities of New York and Florida of which he was a member. WEST BRUNSWICK TWP., Pa. – A man is dead and another is behind bars after a road rage stabbing Monday afternoon on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.
Pennsylvania State Police say the two involved were in a sedan and a truck both heading south on Route 61 when they began the confrontation.
"Both the victim and actor exited their vehicles where they engaged in a physical confrontation," said Trooper David Beohm. "The actor produced a knife and then proceeded to stab the victim multiple times during the altercation." George Marcincin, 38, from Orwigsburg, died at the scene, said Beohm, at a press conference Monday night. Investigators say shortly after the first 911 calls were made around 2 p.m., Orwigsburg police located a silver Honda Accord matching the description of the one leaving the scene. "A short pursuit ensued," said Beohm. "The actor then pulled over on 61 between Holly Road and Chestnut Ridge Drive. The driver was taken into custody and transported back to PSP Schuylkill Haven." Tamiir Whitted, 29, was arraigned late Monday night on charges of first- and third-degree murder, aggravated assault and other offenses, state police said. Whitted, of Pottsville, had a lot to say to reporters as he was taken from the state police barracks. "He should have thought about his family before he started trouble with somebody who don't have children and a wife or anything," he said. "And it was worth stabbing him several times, killing him?" WFMZ's Brian Sheehan asked Whitted, as he was being put into a police car. "To defend myself against an older gentleman, I feel like it was the only option because the first option I took was to talk to him verbally and he didn't wanna talk," Whitted said. BLACK-ON-WHITE: (Black) Woman arrested for murder after Saturday evening domestic altercation in Huntsville
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A man is dead and a woman has been charged with murder following a domestic altercation Saturday evening.
Huntsville Police said Inez Fuqua, 38, was booked into the Madison County Jail early Sunday morning.
Officers were called to a shooting on Cypress Point Drive around 6 p.m. Saturday and found Fuqua sitting on a nearby curb. She informed officers her husband, Christopher Fuqua, 30, was in their house. Upon entering the house, officers found Christopher unresponsive and bleeding from a single gunshot wound. HEMSI responded and pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators said they believe Inez and Christopher got into a domestic altercation that ended with him being shot. Inez’s bond was set at $75,000 on the murder charge. WORCESTER — A Worcester man previously convicted of manslaughter in the death of his infant son was arraigned Friday in Worcester Superior Court on a charge of child rape aggravated by age difference.
Bruce L. Boddie, 43, who is alleged to have had a 15-year-old girl perform oral sex on him Oct. 24 in Webster, entered a not-guilty plea to the child rape charge, which carries a mandatory minimum 10-year sentence upon conviction.
Assistant District Attorney Amanda M. Moran told Judge James G. Reardon Jr. that she and Boddie’s lawyer, Jaclyn R. Greenhalgh, were in agreement that Boddie’s bail be set at $50,000 cash without prejudice and that he be ordered, in the event he posts bail, to be under GPS monitoring, to have no contact with the girl or any witnesses in the sexual assault case and to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 16. Reardon set the bail and conditions of release as requested. Boddie, who was initially charged in Dudley District Court, was indicted Jan. 24 by a Worcester County grand jury, moving his case to the Worcester court. In 2009, Boddie was convicted of manslaughter in the Nov. 5, 2007, death of his 3-month-old son and was sentenced to 12 to 14 years’ imprisonment. He was also found guilty of assault and battery on a child causing injury and was placed on probation for 10 years, to begin upon his release from custody. Woman dead, man critical after shooting at Mansfield hotel; black suspect in custody
MANSFIELD, La. (KSLA) - A woman is dead and a man is injured following a double shooting at a northwest Louisiana hotel.
Crews got the call around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12 to the Best Western in the 600 block of Jenkins Street in Mansfield. All Mansfield schools and DeSoto Parish School Board offices were placed on lockdown for a time Monday morning while law enforcement officials worked the scene.
The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office confirms the two people were shot. The man was sent to a Shreveport hospital for medical treatment. According to Mansfield police, he’s in critical condition. Police say they believe this was an armed robbery. According to Mansfield’s Assistant Police Chief Locke, authorities are on the scene across town at a building where they believe a suspect is located. DeSoto Parish SWAT team is now working with authorities. DPSO is assisting the Mansfield Police Department with the investigation at this time. The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office has taken Terry Dewayne Powell into custody in connection with this shooting. Sheriff’s office officials say Powell was arrested around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon. BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A 69-year-old man is accused of beating and stabbing a fellow resident to death inside their senior living facility in Baton Rouge.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said the suspect, Larry Woodard, has been charged with second-degree murder and booked into parish prison.
Woodard is accused of beating and stabbing Francis Marinelli, 67, a female, inside an apartment at the Our Lady of the Lake Senior Residential Living Facility on Bishop Ott Drive on Sunday, April 11, police said. According to the arrest warrant, a blood trail led responding officers from Marinelli’s apartment to Woodwards and he answered the door holding a bloody knife. The warrant added surveillance video showed Woodard leave his apartment, walk to Marinelli’s apartment, and attack her when she opened the door. Police added the motive for the killing is still unknown. The warrant indicated Woodard refused to make a statement to detectives after being read his Miranda Rights but it also stated he told officers at the scene, without being asked, that he had stabbed the victim. The facility, part of the Our Lady of Lake system, was started in 1992 as a way to “address the need for attractive, safe and affordable housing for the elderly in the Baton Rouge area,” according to the facility’s website. PORT ALLEN, La. (WAFB) - Port Allen Police Chief Corey Hicks said one of his officers is facing charges after an investigation into a complaint about an incident involving unnecessary use of a taser.
The officer identified as Nolan Dehon, III, has been charged with malfeasance in office and aggravated battery.
According to documents obtained by the 9News Investigators, a 67-year-old man was tased by an officer with the Port Allen Police Department on March 27, 2021 while he was handcuffed and sitting in the back of a city police unit. The officer, identified as Nolan Dehon III, has been arrested and charged with malfeasance in office and aggravated battery after a complaint was filed with the police department. The man in police custody was tased twice in a ten-second time frame, causing extreme physical pain as 50,000 volts of electricity to pulse into his body while he was detained, according to arrest reports. Two Port Allen police officers were dispatched to a home regarding a disturbance involving the 67-year-old man. The man had reportedly broken out a window at his home. Once officers arrived, they order the man to exit the home and he complied with the commands. The man was handcuffed and put into the back of a Port Allen Police SUV. The man was told to get into the back of the unit and the report states he was having trouble getting in the unit because of back pain and his height. According to the report, officer Dehon came up to the unit and demanded that the 67-year-old be removed from the unit. When the man started yelling for help, officer Dehon allegedly pulled out his taser and told the man to “scream again, go ahead, scream”. Once the man started to scream for help again the report states officer Dehon jammed the taser into the man’s side and activated it twice. After the second time, the report states officer Dehon screamed at the 67-year-old “You understand me?”. The 67-year-old was taken to the Port Allen Police Department when he complained of back pain. Another officer then called Acadian Ambulance to take him to a local hospital for treatment. The entire incident was captured on body cameras worn by officer Dehon and another officer according to the arrest report. WAFB has requested a copy of that video. Chief Hicks said the Port Allen Police Department received a complaint on March 29 from someone claiming he had been “unnecessarily tased” by an officer. The PAPD and West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the incident, which resulted in the officer being charged. The police chief added the officer has been placed on leave and the matter has been sent to the district attorney’s office. David Bernard Anderson II was sentenced this morning to five years in state prison for a November 2018 sexual assault on a 16-year-old Eureka girl.
Judge Christopher Wilson sentenced Anderson to a total of five years for attempted pandering, false imprisonment and sexual intercourse with a minor. The prison term was agreed to when the 49-year-old Anderson pleaded guilty to those charges. Rape charges were dismissed.
Pandering is defined as procuring another person for prostitution. Anderson will serve only a few months of the sentence because he was given credit, including good-time credit, for more than four years served in Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Wilson ordered Anderson to register as a sex offender for 10 years. Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads, the prosecutor in the case, told Wilson she believes Anderson is at high risk for committing the same crimes in the future. But “the heart of the matter” when agreeing to the plea deal was protecting the young victim from further trauma. “The necessity of her having to testify would have been an extremely trying, traumatic experience for her,” Eads said. Eads also read a statement from the girl’s mother, who said her daughter is suffering. “I’ve seen the pain,” the mother wrote. “I’ve watched my daughter go from being full of life to being empty.” During Anderson’s preliminary hearing, a Eureka police officer who interviewed the teen said she reported she was walking alone when Anderson offered her a ride. She said he drove her to his apartment, took her clothing and cellphone, raped and sodomized her and forced her to perform oral sex. She said he also told her “I could make a lot of money off you.” The girl’s mother wrote that her daughter has constant nightmares and is homeless because she’s afraid to stay in one place. When her mother convinces her to spend the night at her home, “I’m up all night comforting her because of the nightmares.” Anderson was convicted of human trafficking of an underage girl in 2014 and served three years in prison. He also has another alleged victim, who goes by the name Elle Snow. Anderson was never charged with crimes against Snow. Snow, now 36, spoke to the court today via Zoom, saying Anderson abducted her when she was 19 and subjected her to an eight-month ordeal. “I was sold to hundreds of men,” Snow said. “I’ll never know how many.” She said she eventually escaped, but “I live a life of trauma.” She’s afraid to get close to someone, because she’s terrified something will happen to them. That’s why she doesn’t want children, or even pets. Snow also testified against Anderson during his 2014 trial. The victim in that case also was 16. “It’s my wish that we don’t have to do this again and we don’t have another girl like me,” Snow said. When the plea bargain was negotiated, it was agreed Wilson could make the decision on whether to order Anderson to register as a sex offender. Today, explaining his decision, he said this was not the first time Anderson, who is almost 50, has been accused of sex with a minor. “Mr. Anderson has a propensity for similar or related crimes,” Wilson said. Defense attorney Michael Acosta questioned Wilson on whether he would also have to register if he moved out of California. “I can’t make any order in other states,” the judge said, adding each state likely has its own regulations. Acosta then asked whether Anderson will be allowed to leave California. “That will be up to Parole,” Wilson said, referring to the state parole board. According to police, a meetup arranged through an online dating app turned sour after a woman says she was raped and robbed at a Louisville Golf Course.
According to arrest reports, the alleged assault took place Saturday night at the Sun Valley Golf Course near Dixie Highway.
Police say the woman met D'andre Grundy, 31, through an online dating app, and the pair agreed to a date at the golf course. After walking around the golf course for a while, Grundy stopped and told the woman to take off her pants. After she refused, he pushed her and told her he had something "in his back pocket," implying it was some sort of weapon. The woman told police she stopped fighting, Grundy then put his hand over her mouth then proceeded to rape and sodomize her, according to the arrest report. Afterward, Grundy punched her in the face, before taking her phone and her car keys. He ran to the parking lot and stole her car. Following the incident, the woman was able to find a nearby neighbor and notify the police. She was transported to University Hospital. Officers spotted Grundy driving the victim's Chevy Cruze on Thursday, which had been reported stolen. When police stopped and confronted him, he told police that he knew the woman and that he'd gotten the car from her. Grundy was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, and auto theft. He is currently being held in Louisville Metro Corrections. Border agents allegedly initially uncovered three plastic pellets containing white powder in DeNova’s purse, the agency said. They then brought her into a private search room, where they found even more pellets in DeNova’s bra, the agency said. U.S.District Judge Sandra Feuerstein, 75, was mowed down as she strolled down a Boca Raton sidewalk on Friday morning and was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 6-year-old boy, Anthony Ovchinnikov, was injured in the crash, but survived.
Feuerstein was appointed to the federal bench in 2003 by former President George W. Bush, and worked out of the Eastern District of New York, which covers Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island. She previously served as a New York State judge and worked as a school teacher. According to an arrest report filed by Boca Raton Police, a red two-door sedan was seen driving erratically down North Ocean Boulevard in Boca Raton shortly after 10 a.m. Friday. It veered around stopped traffic and jumped the sidewalk, then hit Feuerstein but kept going, the report states. As the driver steered back onto the roadway, she struck and injured Ovchinnikov. A bystander provided the car’s full license plate number to responding officers, and said she saw a sticker of a bumblebee on the trunk. “Let it be noted that none of the witnesses reported that the driver attempted to stop or render aid to the victims,” the police report continues. Less than a half-hour later, the vehicle was found crashed in Delray Beach. Cops say the driver, identified as Nastasia Andranie Snape, 23, of North Lauderdale, Florida, appeared to have been knocked unconscious. But when officers approached her, she “began to convulse or have seizure-like movements,” the report says. She wouldn’t make eye contact with officers on the scene, and “stared into space.” Snape, who insisted she was OK, was then loaded into an ambulance, where she “began to scream and fight with medics, stating that she was ‘Harry Potter,’” according to the police. (Black) 12-time convicted felon charged with murder
BELLE GLADE, Fla. (CBS12) — A 12-time convicted felon from Belle Glade is facing murder charges.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested 41-year-old Antonio Ferguson on a warrant for first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, and felon in possession of a firearm.
The deadly shooting happened just after 2 a.m. on March 15 at the Lake Crystal development, which is just south of Okeechobee Boulevard and Benoist Farms Road. The victim's name is being withheld due to Marsy's Law. Investigators said someone opened fire through a sliding glass door on a group of people at an apartment. According to the arrest report, investigators believe Ferguson exchanged text messages with someone at the apartment just before the shooting. One shooting victim had a fight with Ferguson eleven days earlier. Deputies arrested Ferguson on March 25 on unrelated charges. Cell phone records linked him to the shooting, according to the report. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Officials have arrested a woman in connection to the murder of 21-year-old Dianna Brice. Philadelphia Police say Tylydiah Garnett was arrested by the Homicide Fugitive Unit with the assistance of the FBI Gun Violence Task Force on Saturday, April 10 for her involvement in the murder of Dianna Brice.
Garnett’s charges include arson, criminal conspiracy, use of communication facility, abuse of a corpse and other related offenses. Police sources tell CBS3 Garnett was taken into custody on the 1200 block of New Kirk Street. Officers say she is seen on video helping dispose of the body of Dianna Brice. Missing 2-Year-Old Found Safe, (black) Alleged Abductor Connected To Recent Homicides Of Boy’s Mother, Grandmother
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two-year-old Byron McDonald has been found safe and unharmed, along with his alleged abductor 28-year-old Byron McDonald II, in a hotel room by the Philadelphia International Airport, according to Philadelphia Police. Police say McDonald II is "believed" to be the boy’s father.
McDonald II is a confirmed suspect in the recent homicides of the 2-year-old’s mother and grandmother. He was taken into police custody and a woman was also found in the hotel room. No injuries were reported. Pennsylvania State Police issued an Amber Alert for the boy Monday morning. McDonald was reportedly last seen driving a 2017 red Chevy Malibu, however, the car was found abandoned near 4300 Island Avenue in Southwest. Police were searching the nearby hotels for any sign of McDonald or the child and declared it a barricade situation before locating the suspect and the boy. (Black) Fairfield Mom's Abandonment of her disabled 5-yr-old son 'Upsetting As A Murder,' Judge Says
FAIRFIELD, CT — A Fairfield mother accused of abandoning her 5-year-old child on a rainy Bridgeport street corner was arraigned Monday before a judge who said the situation was "as upsetting as a murder case."
Sharon Williams, 41, faces several charges in connection with allegations that on March 31 she pushed her young son, who has disabilities, from a car and drove away, leaving him at the intersection of Burroughs and East Main streets, according to authorities.
"The amount of damage that causes to that child, physically, mentally, I find this as upsetting as a murder case, honestly," Judge Tracy Lee Dayton said in a recording of the court appearance provided by the state's Judicial Branch. "This is a helpless child with special needs." Williams was taken into custody Friday after police embarked on a public outreach effort to find the boy's family, as his disabilities prevented him from identifying himself, according to law enforcement. Man shot, hospitalized following confrontation at Greenwood Burger King, (black) suspect identified
GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) - Officers with the Greenwood Police Department say
one person was shot after a confrontation on Sunday morning.
According to Greenwood PD PIO Johnathan Link, at approximately 9 a.m., officers responded to a call for a gunshot victim at the Burger King on Bypass 72.
Link says a couple of people initially had a disagreement at the Red Carpet Inn across the street from the Burger King. The group ended up ended up having a confrontation in the Burger King parking plot and a male victim was struck three or four times. The suspect left the scene. The suspect was later identified as 33-year-old Tyriece Brushawn Grant of Cross Hill, according to Greenwood police. Police says that Grant is wanted for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and discharging a firearm into a dwelling. Officers says the victim is currently in the hospital. Suspect arrested in connection to deadly officer-involved shooting, hostage situation
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — A woman has been arrested in connection to a hostage situation that left one man dead when he was shot by police on Thursday night.
28-year-old Valerie Hatton was identified by the Tallahassee Police Department Saturday as the alleged accomplice to the man who died.
According to TPD, it began at an apartment complex on Ocala Drive, near Publix. Officers say two men, Hatton, and a child were parked in the entrance of the complex, leading officers to investigate. While the driver was outside of the car talking to officers, the other man in the car pulled off, hitting a backup officer. Police eventually found the car at the Valencia Square Apartments just down the road. Police say someone ran out of an apartment, saying a man inside had hostages. TPD confirmed to ABC 27 on Saturday that the people inside the apartment were a man, Hatton, the child and a hostage. One witness, Maurice Kirksey lives just two doors down and said he watched it all unfold from his bedroom window. "The police were patiently waiting. It was a big boom and come to find out the person jumped from the second story," said Kirksey. Once on the ground, the suspect then waved a gun at officers, according to the police. An officer shot at the suspect, ultimately killing him. TPD said that Hatton was detained the night of the shooting for questioning, with the charges coming on Friday. Hatton was charged with 2nd-degree felony murder, armed robbery, armed burglary with assault and false imprisonment. Pregnant Woman Was Fatally Shot Last Year in Her Car, and Spanic Suspect Was Just Arrested in Mexico 
A California man wanted in connection with the 2020 killing of a pregnant woman and her unborn child has been taken into custody after allegedly fleeing to Mexico.
Robert Penaloza Jr. is behind bars in Stanislaus County Jail on two counts of murder in connection with the August 2020 death of Amythest Cortez, 27, and her unborn baby, according to a Turlock Police Department news release.
Cortez was found shot in her car in Turlock after police responded to a 911 call reporting an aggravated assault. She was transported to hospital, where she and her baby died. Penaloza was identified by police as a suspect early on in their investigation. However, authorities learned he had allegedly fled to Mexico immediately. HISPANIC Man arrested, charged following hostage situation in Mount Healthy 
MOUNT HEALTHY, Ohio —
A man was arrested following a hostage situation and police standoff on Sunday morning, according to the Mount Healthy Police Department.
Police were called to the 7400 block of Werner Avenue just before 10 a.m.
Officials said the Hamilton County Communications Center was advised there was a violent individual in the home who possibly had a firearm. They were also told there was a person inside being held hostage. The police department said responding officers established a perimeter, secured the area and used de-escalation techniques. After approximately an hour, the standoff was resolved and the suspect was placed into custody. No one was harmed in the incident. Police arrested Rico Salguero, 37. Salguero is charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint. He also faces a federal probation violation. An affidavit states Salguero threatened to kill the victim if they left the household. Mount Healthy Police Chief Vincent Demasi commended responding officers for their coordination and use of de-escalation training as well as the communications center staff for their diligence in dispatch support services. Salguero is set to be in court on Monday. The Jesuit priest at the helm of prestigious Regis High School in Manhattan is being ousted over claims of sexual misconduct, The Post has learned.
The school — which counts Dr. Anthony Fauci among its notable alumni — said it intends to remove the Rev. Daniel Lahart for cause, according to a letter sent to the community Sunday. “The Board of Trustees has determined, based on the findings of the third party investigator, Fr.
