Man kills ex-girlfriend, her two daughters in jealous rage  A
South Carolina man furious that his ex-girlfriend went to the
beach with another man fatally shot her and her two daughters
before turning the gun on himself, authorities said.Gabriel Jordan, 37, committed the carnage on Sunday outside the St. Matthews home of his ex, Shanta Singleton, according to a police report obtained by the Times and Democrat of Orangeburg. Cops said Jordan initially choked Singleton before shooting her when one of her four daughters at the home tried to intervene. Jordan then shot 12-year-old Tre’vay Stroman after she jumped on his back, Calhoun County deputies said. He next took aim at 18-year-old Shantasia Stroman, who was struck in the arm and escaped to a neighbor’s. As Stroman ran away, she saw Jordan chasing her 15-year-old sister, Essence Stroman, into their house. Essence was later found dead, according to the report. Jordan’s body was found with a pistol next to him, deputies said. |

Teen charged with first-degree murder in Asheville double
homicide ASHEVILLE,
N.C. (WLOS) — A second man has now been charged in a shooting that
left two people dead.The Asheville Police Department says they have charged 18-year-old Amar Colia Clark, of Asheville, with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the murders of Javon Brown and Deonte Ellison. Clark was arrested Thursday, May 21, 2020, afternoon in south Asheville without incident and is currently in the custody of the Buncombe County Detention Center under no bond. Brown and Ellison were shot and killed on May 8, 2020. Authorities say on May 8, at around 9:15 p.m., they were dispatched to the Wendy’s on Merrimon Avenue in reference to a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, they found 23-year-old Javon Malik Brown, of Asheville, who had been shot multiple times. Brown passed away on scene. A short time later, officers located a vehicle that had crashed at the intersection of Merrimon Avenue and Chestnut Street. Inside the vehicle, officers found a second gunshot victim. 19-year-old Deonte James Ellison, of Arden, was transported to Mission Hospital but succumbed to his injuries there. |

Stockton man charged with child-abuse death of 7-year-old
daughter Stockton,
California --- A Stockton man was charged with the child-abuse
death of his 7-year-old daughter,
who was found in the garage of the Central Valley home, authorities
said.Billy Dee Williams, 30, was arrested Saturday after officers were sent to check on the child’s welfare at a home on Candlewood Way, police said. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Family and friends identified her as Billie Williams. Five other children at the home were taken into protective custody, police said. There was no immediate word on the exact cause of the girl’s death but a police statement said investigators believe she had been severely abused. Williams has been charged with one count of torture and six counts of felony child abuse, one of which includes an allegation of great bodily injury, the San Joaquin County district attorney’s office said. He remained jailed and it wasn’t immediately clear whether he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf. The girl’s stepmother was home when police arrived. She and the girl’s stepmother were cooperating with the investigation, authorities said. |

Texas -- The man accused of shooting a guest Sunday at the
Post Oak Hotel has been identified as Kevin Rafael Wright, a 31-year-old from Georgia, according to Houston police. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he shot Jason Robbins, of Louisiana, around 5:30 a.m. following a verbal spat, police said. Wright opened fire from the hotel entrance, striking Robbins four times as he was leaving, according to court records. Both men were hotel guests. Wright has since posted his $30,000 bail. Robbins drove himself to the hospital in a private vehicle and remains in stable condition, police said. |

of death, according to King County prosecutors.Eric Sims, whose criminal convictions date to the early 1990s, was arrested Thursday at his West Seattle apartment on investigation of homicide and was charged the next day with second-degree murder in connection with Schmidt’s death, court records show. Jones’ co-defendant, Luther Lee, received a much different fate. Convicted of involuntary manslaughter in his trial, Lee was formally sentenced to four years in prison. underage girls has pleaded not guilty and will head
to a criminal trial in the coming months.Hobil Bravo-Perez, a 20-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was arrested last year for allegedly sexually assaulting three underage girls in Shawano County, Wisconsin. This month, Bravo-Perez pleaded not guilty to six counts of child sex crimes with pre-trial hearings beginning in July. According to police, Bravo-Perez sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl by forcing her to have sex with him after contacting her through social media. Bravo-Perez has said he paid the underage girl $50 for sex. In a second case, police said Bravo-Perez sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl on numerous occasions and physically beat the girl. A third underage girl, 12-years-old, told police she had sex with Bravo-Perez about seven times. Bravo-Perez and one of his brothers, Edgar Bravo-Perez, are in the U.S. as illegal aliens, according to their brother Jorge Bravo-Perez. When investigated, police discovered that Bravo-Perez was in possession of two fake green cards and a fake Social Security number. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has placed a detainer on Bravo-Perez so that if he is released from local custody at any time, he will be turned over to them for arrest and deportation. |

authorities said. Alexander Michael Sardinas,

from Islamorada, attempted to enter the Florida Keys in a taxi
Thursday morning but were turned away at the highway checkpoint
because they didn’t have the proper paperwork indicating they lived
or worked there. Through the end of May, only those with proof of
residency are allowed to enter the Keys due to coronavirus
concerns. Sardinas and Peterson approached the teen near her car, which had both a hurricane reentry sticker on her windshield and a Monroe County license plate, according to the report. Sardinas threatened to harm the teen, a Florida Keys resident, if she didn’t give them a lift to the Keys or if she touched her phone, according to Linhardt. |

Hayden is charged with two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, larceny in a building and two counts of financial transaction device steal/retaining without consent, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said in a new release Sunday. Hayden is expected to be arraigned Sunday in the 34th District Court in Romulus. “The alleged actions of this defendant are truly and uniquely disturbing. We must be able to trust our loved ones in specialty care facilities. I truly hope that the facts of this case are one of a kind,” Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in the news release. Hayden and 75-year-old Norman Bledsoe shared a room at Westwood Rehabilitation Nursing Center. Hayden allegedly set up his cellphone in the room May 15 when he began to attack Bledsoe by repeatedly punching him in the head. When nursing home staff came into the room, Bledsoe's injuries were thought to be the result of him falling from his bed, according to the release. At that time he was taken to the local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Hayden then allegedly posted the video to social media and later stole Bledsoe's credit cards, police said. "We told them that we would hold it for 30 minutes, they showed up 45 minutes later and the pool was gone," Clarke recalled. "So the lady was upset, understandably. I could understand that she was upset." Clarke says the woman started throwing items off the counter, hit her in the face with something metal in her hand and casually walked out of the store with her baby's stroller in tote. She said the woman even took the time to cover up her license plates on the way out. "It was so fast, I couldn't even put my hands up," Clarke recalled. "I had no idea she was going to hit me, like, didn't see it coming." This week, the Modesto Police Department posted a picture of the alleged assaulter on its Facebook page. The photo shows a woman standing in the parking lot wearing a black mask with a Chanel logo. Green tried to escape before and faces another escape charge now, the sheriff said. Bowers and Rolley are charged with helping Green. Deputies say the men were trying to dig through a wall. They had damaged the locks on their cells so detention center officers couldn’t get in, deputies said. After talking with deputies, the men left their cells without a fight. Green tried to escape in 2018, deputies said. He’s been in jail since 2016 after being charged with murder. Deputies say Bowers is in jail for a deadly shooting that happened in June 2019, and Rolley faces a murder charge for a 2017 shooting. If convicted of escape, Green could have one to 15 years added to any sentence he may get if convicted on the murder charge. |

Miss (WTVA) -- Calhoun County deputies responded to a shooting on
Underwood Drive in Derma around 3:30 p.m. Friday. Sheriff Greg Pollan said 26-year old Evander Holmes and 31-year old Anthiny Prescott got into an argument when Holmes shot Prescott in the neck. According to Sheriff Pollan, a third person, 21-year old Julian Boyd, then picked up the gun and shot Holmes in the neck. Holmes died as a result of the shooting. Prescott is expected to make a full recovery. And Boyd is now charged with murder and sits in the Calhoun County jail. |

MEMPHIS,
Tenn. — A Memphis man was arrested after police say he opened fire
on an associate during a fight over a woman. According to police
documents, Zadrick Beard and the victim got into a verbal
argument at the Hickory Forest Apartments on May 15. One
of the men was reportedly having an "affair" with the other’s
girlfriend.Things quickly escalated to both parties exchanging blows, the victim told police. After the fight was over, the victim said Beard went into the apartment, grabbed a shotgun and fired a shot at him. The victim took off running, dodging another bullet that hit a nearby Toyota Camry. The victim was struck in the leg and both arms as he reached the complex gate. He said he begged Beard not to kill him and that’s when Beard took off. On May 21, Beard arrived at the police station to answer questions about the incident. He admitted to being involved in a fight with the victim but refused to say anything else. |

Southern Oregon firefighter has been arrested in Northern

One of its volunteer firefighters was getting ready to respond when he was shot and killed while leaving his home in the 900 block of Caves Highway in Cave Junction. Eventually, the vehicle was found and the driver was detained in Del Norte County, California. He was identified as 22-year-old Deymon Edwards. Apartments off Lucas and Hunt Road which happened Monday morning.Damion Thomas, 25, is charged with first-degree murder and Emmanuel Ray, 28, is charged with tampering with physical evidence. St. Louis County police officers were called to the 2000 block of Valette Drive around 7:15 a.m. for a shooting. They found a 27-year-old Tyree Matthews down the road on Jacobi Avenue, who had been shot once. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Thomas arrived at the apartment of his child and child's mother ("baby-momma") and was allowed in by the mother. Thomas then realized that Matthews was sleeping in the same bed as his child's mother and became enraged. Police say he then went to the bedroom and shot Matthews before Matthews pleaded that he be allowed to leave. Authorities allege Thomas then shot Matthews again, killing him. Ray is accused of using a cleaning product to try and destroy evidence at the scene. Georgia man is charged with defrauding his employer by falsely
claiming he was infected with Covid-19, federal prosecutors say.
Santwon Antonio Davis, 34, of Morrow, a suburb of Atlanta,
worked for a Fortune 500 company with a facility in the Atlanta
area, according to a news release from the US attorney's office in
Atlanta.He allegedly submitted a falsified medical record to the company, which then closed the facility for cleaning "in concern for its employees and customers," and paid employees during the shutdown, the release says. That cost the corporation more than $100,000 and forced the unnecessary quarantine of several other employees, according to the US attorney's office. "The defendant caused unnecessary economic loss to his employer and distress to his coworkers and their families," said US Attorney Byung J. Pak. An affidavit filed by an FBI agent said the company repeatedly contacted Davis in an effort to get a copy of a positive Covid-19 test but he never provided it. Davis has since admitted he did not have Covid-19, according to the US attorney's office. |

The popular media narrative of this event is along the lines of “white supremacists murder black man for the crime of jogging.” If you’re getting your understanding of this event from the mainstream media you probably believe that narrative to have at least some resemblance to what actually happened, making this whole affair unquestionably an example of racially motivated murder. As those of you familiar with my work might have guessed, I suggest that there exists an entirely different narrative altogether, a narrative based on actual facts and actual law rather than emotive projection and outrage, and one that is sufficient consistent with the McMichaels acted lawfully that it is unlikely (though possible) that their prosecution for felony murder can overcome their anticipated legal defense of self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt. Police Chief James Craig said the department is investigating the
incident that allegedly occurred at Westwood Nursing Center on the
city's northwest side."The nursing home was unaware of the assault until they saw the video," Craig said during a press conference Thursday. "We are still investigating that aspect of the case, but we do have a suspect in custody." A video had been posted on social media and shared several times by concerned citizens of an incident that allegedly occurred on May 15. Police said both the 75-year-old male victim and the suspect are patients at the nursing home located in the 16500 block of Schaefer. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries, police said. The suspect was taken into custody at the nursing home and transported to the Detroit Detention Center (DDC) without incident. Detroit Police is still investigating. Murder Suspect In Custody; Woman, Baby Dead Following Early
Morning Hit-And-Run On 15 Freeway Near Baker, CA NEAR
BAKER, CA (CBSLA) — A murder suspect was in custody and a woman and
infant were dead following an early Wednesday morning hit-and-run on
the 15 Freeway near Baker. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff’s
Department, deputies were called out Monday to a Victorville Motel
6, 16901 Stoddard Wells Road, for reports of a fight.When the deputies arrived at the scene, they found a 31-year-old male and a 56-year-old male, who was unresponsive on the floor of the motel room and tried to resuscitate him. The 56-year-old man was taken to a local hospital where he later died. In their investigation, deputies learned that two adult suspects with an infant in a stroller entered the victim’s motel room and assaulted and robbed the two victims before fleeing the scene in the victim’s rental car prior to deputies’ arrival. On Wednesday morning, an off-duty California Highway Patrol Officer was headed northbound on the I-15 freeway south of Cima Road, near Baker, when he found the bodies of an adult female an infant on the highway. According to CHP, the woman and child were the apparent victims of a hit-and-run while trying to cross the freeway. While on scene, officers located the murder victim’s stolen rental vehicle in a nearby ditch and later apprehended a male suspect who was reported walking on the southbound I-15 a mile south of the accident scene. The man, identified as 43-year-old Calvin Pittman, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was arrested on suspicion of murder. |

allegedly shooting a Waffle House employee in Aurora one night after
being asked to wear a face covering inside the restaurant.Kelvin Watson, 27, was arrested Monday morning by the Aurora Police Department on a charge of attempted first-degree murder. Employees at the Waffle House at 12880 E. Mississippi Ave. told police that Watson came to the restaurant shortly after midnight on May 14 and was not wearing a mask, according to an arrest affidavit. A waitress told Watson he needed to have a mask on or he could not be served, the court document says. The restaurant was offering carry-out orders. Watson allegedly returned with a mask that he was not wearing, and was again told he could not be served. Watson pulled out a small gun and placed it on the counter, then told the cook he could “blow your brains out.” The following night, May 15, just after midnight, police say Watson returned to the restaurant. The same cook from the previous night told Watson he was not going to be served. Watson then allegedly slapped the cook across the face. The cook told police he began running toward the back of the Waffle House. Watson shot the cook in his chest or abdomen outside the restaurant, according to the court document. The cook told police he ran toward his home while calling 911. Police say the cook was taken to a hospital. |

Overbrook Park neighborhood on edge. Police are looking for a man
accused of going on a crime spree, including rape and a shooting.
“You can see that’s a pretty good shot of his face right there,”
Philadelphia Police Capt. Mark Burgmann said. Police say the man is
a suspect in a home invasion, rape and shooting that happened in
Overbrook Park just after 5 a.m. Sunday. “If you look very closely,
you’ll see later on this man is armed,” Burgmann said. “He’s armed
with a handgun on the left side of his pants.”Two women were asleep inside the first-floor apartment on the 7400 block of Brockton Road. Police say the suspect sexually assaulted and raped a 21-year-old woman and then shot her 23-year-old roommate. “When she was awakened and she screamed, which alerted her roommate, her roommate then went and confronted the offender, told him to take what he wanted and leave. At that point, she was shot in the abdomen and the offender then fled,” Burgmann said. The woman that was shot is recovering at Lankenau Hospital. |

Fla. — The Orlando Police Department said a second suspect was
arrested Wednesday after a teenager was shot and killed at an
apartment complex last month. Officers said they arrested Javon
Schroeder, 19, who is charged with felony murder and armed
sale or delivery.The teenager, David Butterworth, 16, was shot April 26 at the Isle Apartments at 5308 Long Road. Officers said Butterworth suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. The Orlando Police Department said a second arrest was made. On Saturday, police said they arrested Oscar Valencia, who is charged with second-degree murder with a firearm and remains in the Orange County Jail. - (Black-on-White) |

CHESTERFIELD
COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — The Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office says
they've arrested one of the suspects in the gang-related shooting
Sunday evening in Downtown Myrtle Beach. Around 1:15 Tuesday
afternoon, Chesterfield County deputies took Dennis Dashawn
Stewart into custody at his home on Cleveland Street in
Cheraw. Stewart is charged with attempted murder in Myrtle Beach
related to the Sunday evening shooting on Ocean Boulevard that left
two injured and narrowly missed an infant.Myrtle Beach police said via Facebook that Antonio Trayvon Brown Jr, 22, of Cheraw was in custody as of 5:36 p.m. Tuesday. Officers did not say where Brown was arrested nor his charges. He was wanted on eight counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and unlawful carry of a pistol. Monday night, police said five people have been charged in connection to the Ocean Boulevard shooting. As of Tuesday, seven people are in custody. Anthony Deantez Griffin, 17, of Pageland, and Quandre Tyson, 20, of Pageland, are both charged with seven counts of attempted murder; they were both denied bond on Tuesday. Authorities added Griffin was charged as an adult but media was not allowed to be present for his hearing. Dewan Cole, 18, of Kershaw, is active duty US Navy, is in custody in Norfolk, Virginia, and is awaiting extradition back to South Carolina for seven counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and unlawful carrying of a pistol, according to police. Tristan Jackson, 18, of Monroe, is charged with disorderly conduct and giving false information, officials added. A juvenile was also taken into custody and charged in connection to the shooting, police said. Myrtle Beach police said earlier Monday that rival gangs from Chesterfield County, who came to Myrtle Beach this weekend, were involved in the shooting. |

Alexandria, Louisiana ALEXANDRIA,
La. (KALB) - Several suspects were arrested following a disturbance
and drive-by shooting investigation.The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the 5800 block of Skye Street in Alexandria on May 9 around 10:00 p.m. in reference to a possible shooting. It was determined that multiple suspects were involved in a disturbance and shot at each other. Some of the projectiles struck a vehicle, that contained several victims. All of the suspects fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Two suspects were located at a nearby store. Brandon Nikeel Brown, 18, and Derrick Darnell Long, 19, both of Alexandria, were arrested in reference to one count of illegal possession of a stolen firearm and four counts of illegal use of a weapon. Long was also charged with several motor vehicle violations and obstruction of justice. They were later released after they each posted a $45,000 bond. to death on Saturday was out on bond at the time of the
murder.Bond for Randy Lewis, 38, was waived back on April 30 for a charge of assaulting a public servant from two years ago. A charging document stated he struck someone who was transferring him to the county jail. Court records indicate he was found temporarily incompetent after a mental exam in October 2019 and was committed to a mental facility. In March, his stay was extended by a judge for 60 days after a request from the head of the facility. He was subsequently released to Royal Personal Care Home on May 1. Lewis has been arrested dozens of times in his life. He was charged several times with assault, theft, trespassing, possession of marijuana and burglary of a vehicle. The woman he is accused of killing is 80-year-old Rosalie Cook. Police say she was stabbed in the chest outside of her car after shopping inside the Walgreens near the corner of Gessner and S. murder and aggravated assault after Cobb County police said she
intentionally rear-ended a vehicle Monday night, killing the other
driver.Cikira Caivon Faison, who lives in Paulding County, was arrested early Tuesday morning, jail records show. She was being held without bond Tuesday afternoon at the Cobb jail.“Said accused did intentionally rear-end the vehicle in front of her, which resulted in the death of the driver,” Faison’s arrest warrant states. According to investigators, Frank Thompson was stopped at a red traffic light around 7 p.m. on Barrett Parkway in a silver 2002 Saturn SC1. Faison was driving a 2006 Volkswagen Beetle at the time of the crash, near the intersection with Dallas Highway, according to police. “Faison did not stop and crashed the Beetle into the rear of the stopped Saturn,” police said in an emailed statement. Thompson, 58, of Austell, Georgia, died at the scene, police said. Faison was not injured. |

They began a search and located the men. Both were examined and required no immediate medical attention, according to the agency. Both were taken into custody and transported to the station for identification and processing. Once at the station, agents positively identified one of the men as Bernabe Marquez Ponce, a 45-year-old Mexican citizen who had been convicted of two counts of felony assault. Marquez-Ponce is also a registered sex offender who was previously found guilty for one count of sexual assault against a child and a second count of an assault causing serious bodily injury, according to Border Patrol. |

Smith was originally charged with a hate crime, a felony. “He wrote apology letters and appeared sincere,” said State’s Atty. Julia Rietz, who filed the hate-crime charge, adding investigating police found Smith had “no history of racial prejudice.” In addition to the hate-crime charge, three other misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges — which named victims who were “alarmed and disturbed” by the noose — were dismissed in return for his guilty plea.
