police name fallen WHITE officer, BLACK capital murder suspect  HUNTSVILLE,
Ala. (WAFF) - Huntsville police have released more information about
the fatal shooting of their officer. Police identified their fallen
officer as STAC officer Billy Clardy
III. He was killed while working a drug investigation in north
Huntsville. They praised the veteran officer as an exceptional lawman with too many career accomplishments to name. He started his career as a patrol officer in north Huntsville before becoming a community relations officer. He was later part of HPD’s first anti-crime team and then became a STAC agent. Clardy is survived by a wife and children. He is also the son of fallen officer Billy Fred Clardy Jr. who was killed in the line of duty with the Huntsville Police Department on May 3, 1978. dogs were killed after a fire seriously damaged a San
Marco apartment,police calling it a case of arson and animal cruelty
after arresting a neighbor.A 44-year-old San Marco man was arrested after two dogs were attacked and killed with a machete before the apartment they lived in on Flagler Avenue was set on fire, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said. Gerald Frank Norvil Allen of Flagler Avenue was charged Nov. 26 with arson and two counts of animal cruelty, and remains behind bars ineligible for bail, according to Duval County jail records. Officers were called out about 2 p.m. to the apartment complex on Cedar Street after Jacksonville Fire and Rescue was sent there to a fire, the arrest report said. Firefighters found “a wall full of blood and a machete with blood on it” when they got inside, along with two dead dogs, the report said. Police said their own search confirmed a wall covered with blood, a bloody machete on a couch, and two burned dogs in a corner, the report said. Allen, a next door neighbor, was detained for questioning, talking to himself and grabbing at his stomach, saying he “wanted to get it out,” the report said.  Day-Day,

Fla. - A Brevard County man is behind bars after deputies found his
dog malnourished. Deputies say the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office
Animal Services responded to Ronald Peacock's Cocoa home and
found his dog, Thor,
extremely emaciated. He was issued a citation and told to get Thor to a veterinarian within 48 hours. Upon a return inspection, it was found that the dog had been taken to a local veterinarian. However, officials say the animal had only received vaccinations and heartworm treatment. Peacock told deputies that he could not afford the medication to treat the dog and could not afford the amount of food necessary to bring the dog’s weight to an acceptable level, so he was not going to do anything further. "As a result of the investigative findings, Thor was seized from the property and transported to animal services where he was examined by our own veterinarian staff who determined that he was suffering from extreme malnutrition due to neglect," the sheriff's office said. |

The person and animal welfare officials soon rescued the animal and named it River. Prosecutors have said Davis wanted revenge against his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, who gave her the dog. |

tased a 71-year-old woman and
stole her purse in front of the victim’s 5-year-old
grandchild.A man is also in custody, who police said helped the women carry out the crime. The department announced the arrests on Facebook on Friday, more than a week after the Nov. 27 robbery. Traci Cahill and Nakayla Wright, of Fort Worth, were taken into custody Thursday, while Jason Simmons, of Arlington, was taken into custody Friday, police said. They were all charged with aggravated robbery and credit card/debit card abuse of the elderly. During the investigation, police learned the suspects used the victim’s credit cards at stores in Arlington and Mansfield after the robbery. Police were able to view surveillance images of all three suspects. |

Philadelphia man whose life sentence was just commuted by Pennsylvania
Gov. Tom Wolf was re-arrested Friday by Delaware County
authorities, and didn't get a second of freedom.David Sheppard was sentenced to life behind bars for his role in a 1992 Philadelphia pharmacy robbery in which a co-conspirator shot and killed the owner. But he also has an outstanding warrant on a 1992 shoplifting charge in Delaware County. It's that warrant the district attorney's office used to arrest Sheppard after his release from prison. Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun Copeland said in a statement that "the issue here is not about the shoplifting charge [but instead] the complete failure of the criminal justice system to give victims and their families a voice." "The family of the victim was never notified that this individual was appearing before the Board of Pardons and seeking to have his sentence commuted," Copeland, a Republican who was voted out of office in November during a regional blue wave, said. "Victims and their families deserve a role in the process, but, in this case, the family was wrongfully denied that opportunity." Sheppard's life sentence was commuted Thursday by Wolf. He'll still have to spend a year in a halfway house and the remainder of his life under parole supervision once all his legal issues are finalized. |

Rapids man charged with criminal HIV transmission to two females CEDAR
RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A man has been charged with knowingly
infecting two females, one a minor, with a sexually transmitted
disease, according to court documents. Lamont James, 33, is
charged with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a class C
felony, and two counts of criminal transmission of a contagious or
infectious disease, a class D felony.According to court filings, in June 2019, a 16-year-old girl reported to a Linn County Department of Human Services employee that she had been in a sexual relationship with James when she was only 13-years-old, though had intercourse with him as recently as April 2019. The girl said that she had tested positive for HIV and believed that James had infected her, since they never used a condom. Police said that the girl told them she had learned that James was allegedly HIV-positive from other women and that he had never disclosed this to her. The two counts of sexual abuse are connected to this allegation, one each for when the girl was between 12 and 13 years old, and one for when she was between 14 and 15 years old and James was more than four years older than her, per Iowa Code. Another woman filed a report with the Cedar Rapids Police Department in November 2018, alleging that she had also contracted HIV from James. She told police that she had been sexually active with James and one other man between August and October 2018. The other man, whom she did not identify, had recently tested negative for HIV. |

-- A fourth arrest has been made in connection with a violent
abduction in downtown Toronto last month, while two other suspects
remain at large.A 21-year-old man was walking in the area of St. George and Willcocks streets on Nov. 16 at around 5 p.m. when he was approached from behind by four people, police said. One of the four “brandished a conducted energy weapon” at the time, according to investigators. The victim was choked and robbed of his personal belongings before being forced to withdraw an unknown amount of cash from a nearby bank machine. Police said the victim was then forced into a taxi cab and was taken to a motel in Toronto’s east end. “He was held until he raised his credit limit,” investigators said. “His bank account was emptied and he was released.” On Nov. 30, officials said three people had been arrested in connection with the investigation. Daeshawn Grant, 18, of Toronto, Kaelin Sankar, 21, of Mississauga, and Tanika Galloway, 21, of Toronto, face a combined 22 charges. Surveillance video from October 13th showed Wilson approaching a 50-year-old man at Off the Wall trampoline center on West State Road 84, Davie police said Wednesday. Wilson accused the victim, who was with his 8-year-old son, of taking his game card, but the victim denied having his card and tried to walk away. Wilson then violently punched the man, who was still holding his son's hand, and continued to beat him while he was unconscious, police said. "We see this offender cowardly punch the victim in the face so violently that it knocks him out, knocks him to the ground," Davie Police Lt. Mark Leone said Wednesday. The victim suffered serious injuries to his head, face and jaw, police said. Wilson is a "rapper" who goes by the stage name ABMG Spitta and is also known as PaperChasin Spitta and Alley Boy, police said. |

violent attacks in recent days.One incident was a sexual battery which was reported on Tuesday. A female student told police a man approached her on campus around 2:15 a.m. and touched her inappropriately, then got into a car and fled. She said she was walking to her residence when she was approached by the suspect. A friend said the victim was walking from her dorm to catch an Uber when she was approached by the suspect. "The guy came and grabbed her and was trying to take her to his car," said Evan Pickell, a friend of the victim. "She started screaming, fighting, punching the guy and he ended up letting her go." She suffered head injuries and is now recovering, he said. The suspect reportedly fled southbound in a silver four-door sedan. The suspect was described as an African-American man between the ages of 23 and 28 with light skin, short, black braided hair and thin build. He was also possibly wearing khaki or gray pants, according to police. He was not wearing a shirt and had tattoos around his body. |

VERNE, Ia. — A man who had been in state custody for nearly a decade
before his release 10 months ago has been charged with murder in a
Wednesday bank robbery and shooting. Valentino Williams, 35, of Coralville, is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in Kossuth County District Court. Around 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, authorities responded to calls of shots fired at Security State Bank in Lu Verne, a town of about 260 in north-central Iowa. Jessica Weishaar, 43, of Algona was identified as the victim. Weishaar works for Security State Bank, a locally owned business with four Kossuth County locations. Weishaar was found lying on the sidewalk in front of the bank when authorities arrived. Video from the scene showed the killer wearing a dark colored Carhartt-style coat with a hoodie pulled over his head, according to an Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation agent's affidavit unsealed Thursday. The video also showed the man exiting the vehicle carrying a dark-colored backpack. At one point the robber carried a handgun in his right hand, the complaint said. Williams fired several shots at Weishaar before he drove away, authorities allege. Witnesses reported hearing three gunshots. Officers eventually lost sight of Williams on Iowa Highway 17. At 9:38 a.m. Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation officers and officers from other agencies stopped a black SUV on Interstate Highway 35 near Dows, about 45 miles southeast of Lu Verne. The SUV matched a description of a vehicle seen near the scene of the shooting, the complaint said. Online court records reveal significant clashes with law enforcement since Williams was a teenager. He was arrested when he was 14, in 1998, and charged as an adult with robbery and theft in Davenport. He pleaded guilty of lesser charges and was sentenced in the juvenile justice system. He went to prison after he turned 18. After leaving prison in 2008, Williams was quickly in trouble again. Iowa City police charged him after a series of robberies in 2009. Williams broke into a Cigarette Outlet store where he confronted an employee with a handgun and demanded cash. One week later he broke into the Can Shed can recycling repository and hid in the bathroom until employees arrived. Williams then robbed one of the employees at gunpoint then fled through two pre-cut holes in the fence, police said. Later, police said, Williams broke into a Check Into Cash location in Coralville. Police located him in a stolen Buick. He changed vehicles and crashed into a squad car. He was sent to prison in 2010. On Nov. 16, Todd Burkhart, 28, and Kyla Hayton, 21, were reported missing. Burkhart’s body was found Nov. 22 and Hayton’s was found Nov. 25. Both were found in different vacant houses on West Stewart Street, near where Hayton’s car was discovered. It appears the couple died around the same time, according to Montgomery County Prosecutor Kent Harshbarger. Hayton was five months pregnant. Rodgers was arrested in November after police obtained a search warrant for a house in the 600 block of Groveland Avenue “in relation to an ongoing homicide investigation.” A .40 caliber handgun with an extended magazine was found in a bedroom closet. whose body has never been found, prosecutors announced.Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said Joshua Dow, 35, received 20 years in prison as part of a plea agreement, adding that he pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder in the death of his child’s mother, who was 25-years-old at the time of her death. New evidence has helped make it clear as to what happened to Jensen four years ago, according to a news release from the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office. Dow shot Jensen on November 18, 2015, around 5 a.m. in his home in north Minneapolis. He then took Jensen’s body to a warehouse where he had worked and reportedly stuffed it into a locker. He later dismembered the body and disposed of the remains across the city. He and his brother chopped up a couch, which had Jensen’s blood on it, and dumped it in different locations, Fox 9 reported, adding that Dow also forced his brother to help him paint the living room walls to hide the evidence. Dow lied to police and to Jensen’s parents about seeing her alive, prosecutors said. During Wednesday’s sentencing, six members of Jensen’s family addressed the court reading victim impact statements. Jensen’s mother said, “For the past four years, Joshua Dow has created many victims. [Victim’s minor daughter] has been without her mother, our girls have been without their sister, we have been without our beloved daughter. And many, many family members and friends have been devastated by the horrific murder of Adelle Katherine Jensen. Joshua Dow is solely and heinously responsible for taking away a beautiful young soul from God’s world.” At the time of the shooting, the couple was reportedly separated. in June outside of Killeen High School in what, according to an
arrest warrant affidavit, was retaliation for an earlier argument
with a classmate at Killeen Middle School.Kyhirah Clemons, 32, and Chonda Edmond, 44, both of Killeen, were arrested On Oct. 19 in connection with the incident. Both remain jailed. Officers who responded to a report of a disturbance on June 12 at the high school found the girl lying on the ground. She told officers that she had argued with a classmate earlier in the day and that later she was involved in an altercation with the classmate’s mother, identified in the affidavit as Edmond, when the woman arrived to pick up the classmate at the middle school. Later the girl went to the high school to be with friends when Edmond, and another woman who claimed to be the classmate’s aunt, confronted her. The girl told officers “that both adult females had objects that looked like baseball bats and began to strike her with the objects.” The girl told officers she was hit in the head and lost consciousness and then awakened “to find that she was still being struck while on the ground. |

charge in the shooting death of a man on Parkwood Drive on Sunday.Jonesboro police said they went to a home on Parkwood Drive around 11:20 p.m. Saturday after former residents discovered a truck running in the driveway of the vacant house. They called police believing a burglary was in progress. Officers found a man, later identified as Andrew Powell, inside the vacant home with, “obvious gunshot wounds,” the affidavit stated. While collecting evidence, investigators found Powell’s cellphone lying in the front yard. During a search of the phone, police found a text conversation that took place between the victim and a subject named “Wesley” shortly before the incident. “Further investigation of the text conversation, revealed the identity of the owner of the phone number,” the probable cause affidavit stated. Police used a social media search to discover the phone’s owner was “friends” with Wesley Neal. On Dec. 1, investigators went to the home of the owner of the phone, who was not named in the affidavit. When police were talking with the individual and their significant other, Neal walked up to the home. All three were taken to the Jonesboro Police Department for questioning. While being questioned, the owner of the phone and the significant other said Neal had the cell phone when the victim was murdered. Neal admitted to being Powell’s friend during questioning and had “past dealings with him,” the affidavit stated. “Neal admitted to being inside the home where Powell’s body was found." The affidavit ultimately did not reveal what led to Powell’s shooting death, only placing Neal at the scene at the time of Powell’s murder. Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Tuesday to charge Neal with first-degree murder and set his bond at $1 million cash only. However, jurors deadlocked 11-1 in favor of guilt on charges alleging that McInnis — who has a prior conviction for unlawful sexual intercourse — also attacked an 18-year-old University of California at Berkeley freshman in a separate case in the 2400 block of College Avenue in Berkeley at about 4:30 a.m. on April 28, 2018, nine days after the attack on the 15-year-old girl. Alameda County prosecutor Nick Homer said in his closing argument in the trial that McInnis used a realistic-looking, all-black replica gun to instill fear in the 15-year-old girl and the 18-year-old UC Berkeley student. stop, police said. Thanksgiving morning.8 News Now has learned that a Metro police officer performed a search on the suspect accused of driving drunk and causing the crash. The officer found 1 gram of cocaine in 27-year-old Nathaniel Postelle’s right front pocket. The report also confirms that Postelle ran a red light, and hit the left side of Monique Prado’s vehicle at the intersection of Russell and Durango on the morning of Thanksgiving Day. Metro says Postelle was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and did suffer a head injury. When officers arrived on scene, they found Postelle sitting on the curb, nursing his head injury. Officers noted in the report that Postelle emitted a strong alcoholic beverage from his breath, and that he had “bloodshot and watery eyes along with body sways.” Postelle told officers he was driving home from a friend’s house in his mother’s car. Typically, a first-degree murder conviction carries an automatic life sentence. However, because Sanders was 17 at the time of the offense, Florida law required that he receive a customized sentence that accounted for his specific criminal history, life circumstances, maturity level and other factors. After reviewing the facts of the case, Circuit Judge Jeffrey Burns on Wednesday sentenced Sanders to life in state prison. Because Sanders was a juvenile at the time of the crime, he is entitled to a review of his sentence after 25 years. Investigators said that Sanders lived a few streets over from Midyett's home on Statler Avenue, and that he had monitored and burglarized the homes of other women in the neighborhood. BEACH, Fla. - Officials in Daytona Beach are trying to track down
two men they believe attempted to tie a woman's hands to the
steering wheel of a vehicle before attempting to light it on fire.Police said they are searching for 37-year-old Gibbon Agledor in connection with the incident, that happened on Thanksgiving Day in the area of Hagan Terrace and West International Speedway Boulevard. Upon arrival at the scene, police found the woman zip-tied to the steering wheel with duct tape around her mouth, head and both of her ankles. According to the woman, a man poured rubbing alcohol on her clothes and most of the car. She said the man then set some papers on fire and threw them into the car before fleeing the scene with Agledor. The woman said a similar incident occurred in the parking lot of a Walmart in the 1100 block of Beville Road on Nov. 27 where officials said she was tied up and placed in the trunk of her vehicle. |

(WCCO) — A Guatemalan woman who crashed into a school bus in
Cottonwood and killed 4 students
in 2008, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
officers on Tuesday for illegally re-entering the United States.Olga Franco del Cid, a 35-year-old woman who had been previously deported, was arrested at her residence in Inver Grove Heights just past 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Franco del Cid was convicted in October 2008 of four counts of criminal vehicular homicide, 17 counts of criminal vehicular operation, giving a false name to police, failing to stop at the entrance to a throughway, and driving without a valid license. She served (only) eight years of a 12-and-a-half-year sentence at Minnesota Correctional Facility – Shakopee. In 2015, a judge ordered her removal from the United States, and she was deported in 2016. Illegally re-entering the U.S. is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. |

A teenage girl who was shot in the chest in a Chicago neighborhood
Friday night is now facing an attempted robbery charge after
officials said she tried to rob a woman she was meeting for a sale.The Chicago Police Department said in a news release on Saturday the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. in the city's Little Village neighborhood, when 21-year-old Araceli Diaz met with the 14-year-old girl after the teenager arranged the meeting to buy a dog. When the 14-year-old met up with Diaz, officials said the teen pulled out a pellet gun, struck the 21-year-old on the head with it and tried to take the dog without paying for it. "We're not sure where they met initially or how they communicated, but all we do know is that the 14-year-old did show up with other intentions and she pulled out a BB gun," Chicago Police Officer Jose Jara told FOX32. In response, Diaz then allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot the girl in the chest. |
