Bend County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of $25,000 for
information on the shooting death of an Australian man who died
protecting his family during a home invasion in the Katy area
earlier this week.Brenton Estorffe, 29, was killed during a break-in at his home located in the 6900 block of Glen Rosa Drive Wednesday, according to a release from the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office. Two male suspects allegedly broke into Estorffe's home late Wednesday night by sneaking through a back window, police said. Estorffe, who hails from Australia, died shortly after being shot. The father of two is being credited with saving his wife and children during the invasion, according to local media reports. A vehicle of interest spotted on surveillance video shows the two suspects in a light-colored, four-door sedan with a sunroof, according to the release. One suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall, wearing a dark-colored hoodie. The other suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, approximately 6-feet tall, with a slender build and short hair. “Help us catch those responsible for this heinous crime,” Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said in the release. “A wife and two small children now have to try and piece their life together without their loving husband and father." - (Black-on-white) |

homicide of White couple shot in back  An
Aiken County man was found guilty this week in the 2016 double
homicide of an Edgefield County couple and sentenced to life without
parole. Dameion Edwin Thomas, 38, was found guilty of killing Charles and Andrea Deas, according to a news release from the South Carolina 11th Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office. On Oct. 9, 2016, a neighbor called 911 after seeing the Deas' home engulfed in flames on Marigold Street in Edgefield County, according to the news release. Firefighters who arrived on the scene located the Deas' badly burned bodies in a bedroom where the fire originated. Crews also described entering the home and locating several deceased dogs in the living room prior to locating the couple in the bedroom, the release states. Firefighters also retrieved the barrel of a .22 rifle in what was left of the mattress springs. An autopsy was conducted Oct. 11, 2016 and determined the couple died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and chest area, according to the release. Testimony at the trial stated both were shot from the back and were dead prior to their bodies being set on fire. Bullets retrieved from both bodies were found to be from a .22 caliber weapon. Law enforcement identified Thomas as a person of interest after he was captured on camera driving the victims' vehicle and using their debit card , according to the release. Testimony and evidence revealed at the trial that Thomas had killed the victims shortly after lunch time on Oct. 9, 2016, drove around in their vehicle for several hours and came back in the evening to set their bodies on fire, the release states. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Forensic Unit found gunshot residue on the shirt Thomas had been wearing on the day of the shootings and on the steering wheel of the victims' car, according to the release. Death Row    SAN QUENTIN (CBS SF) – A condemned serial killer who murdered five Alameda County women after brutally beating and raping four of them has been found dead in his cell on San Quentin’s Death Row, prison officials announced Friday. A former Navy sailor, 65-year-old Anthony McKnight was already serving a 63-year state prison sentence for attempted murder, rape and kidnapping of three women in 1987 when a series of DNA tests run in 1996 linked him to 1985 murders. At the time of the 1985 murders, McKnight was stationed with the Navy on Treasure Island. After a nearly two-month-long trial in 2008 he was found guilty of the slayings and sentenced to die for the murders of Betty Stuart, 22; Diane Stone; 17; Talita Dixon, 13; Monique Davis, 18; and Beverly Bryant, 24. |

Wednesday night in a double shooting at an apartment complex on
Tigerland Avenue, revealing that a man and woman were found dead

The victims were found in the 4700 block of Tigerland Avenue around 9:25 p.m. Neighbors at the apartment complex said they heard about 15 shots around that time. Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely Jr. said the motive is not known. Chavarria is accused of attacking the girl Oct. 13 at a residence on Tallow Tree Lane in Harvey, according to Capt. Jason Rivarde, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office. Chavarria is known to the girl’s family, authorities said. The girl and her mother contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report the assault the same day. arresting a man in the murder of his wife, they announced Thursday.The investigation began after Olga Sanchez, 30, burned to death in a house fire in Lancaster in 2010, police said. The fire was ruled arson after investigators determined it was started with gasoline. On Thursday, Carlos Montalvo-Rivera, 52, was charged with arson and murder in the death of his wife, police said. He was also charged with trying to kill their young children, ages 13, 9 and 8, each of whom survived the fire. death of a retired St. Louis police officer.The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 16-year-old Justin Mathews pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder, robbery and other crimes. Last month, 17-year-old Jalynn Garner pleaded guilty to crimes that included first-degree murder. Retired Sgt. Ralph Harper was killed on Oct. 29, 2018, during a carjacking attempt. Harper was a 33-year police veteran who retired in 2007. Mathews was 15 at the time of the crime and Garner was 16. Both were certified to stand trial as adults. N.C. (WTVD) -- An elementary school teacher has been arrested and
charged with four counts of indecent liberties with a child.Raleigh Police Department arrested Peter Cunningham Moody, 39, after crimes investigators say took place at Beaverdam Elementary School between August 2018 and June 2019. ABC11 has confirmed that Moody was a fifth-grade teacher at the school beginning in August 2017. Wake County Public School System said it learned of the allegations against Moody in August of 2019. The district contacted RPD and launched an internal investigation. The prosecutor said several teachers reported that Moody would take children out of classes and tell them he needed to grade papers. The prosecutor also alleged that Moody would make vulgar comments to students and touch them inappropriately. |

MI - “Please don’t kill me,” she said as Percy Oliver, once
her friend, bashed her head from behind. Oliver then started to
strangle the 36-year-old woman, placing his hands around her neck
and the full weight of his body on her’s. The
only relief from the strangulation was her ensuing urination.After forcing the victim to take a shower, Oliver forced her to perform oral sex. She only found her way out of the ordeal once she reassembled her broken phone and messaged her sister to call 911. The arriving officer said that her hands were “visibly shaking.” Police say they made a personal welfare check last August at the house of Jason Rogers, a friend of Oliver’s and the victim, on Condad Street in Jackson. Police interviewed the woman, who stated that Oliver attacked her after a failed crack cocaine deal. She said that Oliver and Rogers invited her over to the house, then offered to give her crack in exchange for a threesome. She said no, then wanted to leave after smoking what she thought was a suspicious form of the drug. |

Emmanuel began fostering the children in 2014, Local 10 News reported, citing police. Emmanuel reportedly adopted the three girls, aged between 6 and 12, and their 4-year-old brother three years later, moving them into her Miami home. The television station reported that in November 2018, the seven-year-old was found unresponsive at the home and died hours later at a hospital. The arrest report said, “[Emmanuel] did not seek medical care for [deceased victim’s] symptoms, which subsequently worsened into pneumonia and sepsis, and eventually caused her death,” according to WFOR-TV. The television station reported that during a death investigation, police noticed “suspicious injuries” on the dead child so began looking into the case further and interviewed the surviving sisters. Miami Dade Police reportedly said that Emmanuel “beat them [and the deceased victim] with belts, a brush, and a back scratcher for punishment, made them stand for hours at a time, tied their hands and bodies to furniture in the home when they were no longer able to stand, tied socks around their eyes, made them sleep on the floor when they wet the bed and burned their hands and fingers on the stove.” The girls reportedly told police that one time when they woke up in the middle of the night and ate bread intended for Emmanuel’s biological son, she allegedly burned their hands. WFOR-TV reported that the arrest report said Emmanuel “... held both victims [sic] hands down on the hot stove repeatedly until they were burned.” The arrest report also said that she did not seek medical care for the victims and their hands were permanently disfigured as a result. “The facts of this case are sickening,” a prosecutor reportedly told the judge on Wednesday. “It’s hard to imagine the pain and suffering these children endured at the hands of this defendant.” |

teenage hunting partner he mistook for a deer, police said.Hector Romero-Hernandez was booked into the Glynn County Detention Center on Monday on charges that include hunting with unlawful weapon, misuse of firearm resulting in serious bodily harm to another and hunting without a license, according to the county sheriff's office. Bobby Lane, 17, was in an area of heavy foliage on September 28 when another hunter thought he was animal and shot him, the Glynn County Police Department said at the time. Police and Georgia Department of Natural Resources game wardens responded and found Lane at a nearby gas station with others in his hunting group. Lane died from his injury at a local hospital, police said. The two hunters knew each other. prison after pleading guilty to killing an Eagan couple with his
minivan in a hit-and-run last June.Jonna Armartey pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder after intentionally striking 74-year-old Roger Peterson and 58-year-old Diane Peterson as they took their nightly walk. According to the criminal complaint, police found the couple in the parking lot of a strip mall with blunt force trauma, struggling to breathe. Both were later pronounced dead at the hospital. Witnesses told police that a silver van struck the couple and fled the scene, the complaint states. Surveillance video showed the vehicle following the Petersons as they walked through the parking lot. Shortly after the hit-and-run, another witness called 911, saying he found the van at a restaurant less than a mile away. When officers walked up to the van, they found the windshield cracked and damage to the vehicle’s front end. Also, one of the victims’ cell phones was wedged under the passenger side windshield wiper. In an interview with police, Armartey said the Petersons “freaked him out” and so he ran them over. vehicle that slammed into an Oakland home Saturday morning had been

Ind. -- A pair of accused killers are behind bars following a deadly
armed robbery.The shooting took place in the 700 block of Edgemont Avenue on the near northwest side. Police were called to the scene shortly after midnight Saturday morning and found 52-year-old Michael Zdenek Sr. shot to death. His wife of more than 30 years is still heartbroken by the loss. “They took my love. They took my soul mate. They took my everything,” said Midge Zdenek. Midge, who suffers from cerebral palsy and is wheelchair-bound, says it all started with the knock at the window. “Mike went, “I’m going to see who this is,” and that’s the last words I heard from my husband,” said Midge. According to court records, Michael’s next-door neighbor Katrina Griffith lured the victim outside to see about repairing a scratched van. That’s when the accused gunman, a friend of Griffith's identified as Daequan Adams, ran up with a gun and tried to rob Michael before shooting him multiple times. It turns out, police believe Michael sold an SUV for a few thousand dollars and the suspects planned to steal that money. “It’s not worth taking a life. We need to stop the violence,” said Midge. After the shooting, Midge says the gunman stormed inside her home and demanded money from the car sale. Prosecutors say Griffith also went inside her home and waited 40 minutes before she called 911. According to the affidavit, Griffith initially confessed to police to assisting in the robbery stating she got “used like a pawn.” She then added, "He should have just went into the house." Griffith later denied any involvement in the crime. A search of Adams' apartment turned up bloody gloves and a mask like the one used in the robbery. “He was everything to me. His trial had been set for Nov. 12, but was pushed back to give expert witnesses more time to review new evidence. Rivera is accused of killing Tibbetts, who disappeared while out for a run July 18, 2018, in Brooklyn, Iowa. Investigators recovered her body a month later in a cornfield. Officials say she was stabbed to death. Rivera, a Mexican national, also is accused of being in the country illegally. He worked at a dairy farm a few miles from where Tibbetts disappeared. |

They saw a car with its engine running -- and a woman inside who was unresponsive. The officers broke the window to gain access to the interior of the vehicle -- because it was locked. They performed CPR on the victim -- but were unable to locate a pulse. The victim was identified as Debra Casey. Inside the car, detectives found a cellphone -- and took it to the Milwaukee Police Department Bureau of Identification. They also located a 9mm casing in the street -- and a "Newport cigarette pack inside of which were ripped corner cut baggies, consistent with drug packaging." The criminal complaint says forensic investigators recovered fingerprints from the cellphone that were identified as belonging to Trayvonn Brown. "Essentially, this was all over a telephone; a telephone that was left in a vehicle," said Judge Rosa Barillas. Court documents say Casey and Brown were in a car together when she tried to "snatch the bag of crack rocks from him" before crashing the car. Brown told police he jumped out before realizing he left his cellphone inside the vehicle. When Brown tried to get back in the car to get the phone, he realized "the girl got scared" and locked the doors. arrested Friday in Riverside.The body of Sabrina Lukosky, 43, who had been reported missing on Oct. 3, was found about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Deputies were alerted to a foul odor and served a search warrant at a home in the neighborhood, sheriff's Lt. Michael Blevins said. Detectives searched the main residence on the property and a smaller structure located to the rear of the home, where they found the woman's body, Blevins said. It was unclear the type of structure where the woman's body was located. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office determined Lukosky's manner of death was homicide, Blevins said. "The facts revealed during the investigation pointed to a 41-year-old Encinitas man as the suspect," Blevins said. "He was identified as the victim's boyfriend, Henry Simon Cowen." Sheriff's homicide detectives obtained a warrant for Cowen's arrest and he was taken into custody Friday afternoon by a U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of murder, Blevins said. Texas - An Atascocita man called to report he was shot by his
girlfriend Tuesday before he died, deputies said. The shooting was

Pinehurst Trail and Pine Wind drives. According to investigators, Harris County deputies arrived and found a 65-year-old man, identified as Dale Blake, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Blake was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died, investigators said. Deputies said they located a 30-year-old woman, identified as Latonya Jones, a short time later, who said she was the Blake’s girlfriend. She was arrested and will be charged with murder, deputies said. A gun was found not far from the scene, deputies said. COUNTY, Va. — Henrico County Police have arrested and
charged a Henrico man with shooting and killing his
stepson early Wednesday. Police said around 12:13 a.m.,
they responded to a home in the 6300 block of Trailing
Ridge Court for a report of shooting. They alleged that Herbert
L. Washington, 68, shot his stepson, Kevin
Brown Jr., 34, during an altercation. Brown would
later die of his injuries at a local hospital. Washington
has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Use of a
Firearm in Commission of Felony.
