Illinois state trooper killed in the line of duty by BLACK  EAST
ST. LOUIS, Ill. - An Illinois state trooper was shot and killed in
the line of duty while serving a search warrant Friday morning.Trooper Nicholas Hopkins was 33. He is the fourth state trooper to die in the line of duty in 2019. Hopkins and other troopers were attempting to serve a warrant at a residence in the 1400 block of N. 42nd Street and Caseyville Ave just before 5:30 a.m. Hopkins was struck during an exchange of gunfire at the home. Images from Bommarito Automotive SkyFox showed several police agencies on the scene. Three people at the home were taken into police custody. One person had barricaded themselves in the residence. Hopkins was rushed to St. Louis University Hospital where doctors attempted to save his life. He was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m.

Evansville man arrested, charged in double murder of unfaithful
white wife fornicating with her black ex-husband   EVANSVILLE,
Ind. (WFIE) - The names of the suspect and victims in the double
homicide on Evansville’s south side have been released. The coroner
says the victims have been identified as 43-year-old Donte
Meriwether and 43-year-old Satanna
Kendle-Douglas. According to the coroner, the autopsy
concluded both of the victims died from multiple stab wounds.Police say the suspect, 46-year-old Ernest Lee Douglas, of Evansville, is facing two murder charges. An EPD sergeant tells us officials got a call for a welfare check there around 7 Monday night. Meriwether and Kendle-Douglas were found dead inside the home in the 1900 block of Plantation Ct. According to EPD, Meriwether and Satanna Douglas had previously been married. EPD says Ernest Douglas was married to Satanna at the time of her death. They say Satanna had prior issues with Ernest that led to him being barred from the Plantation Ct. home in June. During that incident, there was reportedly a fight between Ernest and Donte Meriwether. In another incident on July 29, a trespassing in progress call was made alleging Ernest was at the home, according to the Evansville Police Department. Police say the deaths appear to be domestic violence-related. Based on the condition of the bodies, police believe the victims had been (decomposing) for several days. - (Black-on-white) |

3-year-old boy  A
couple in Alabama -- who didn't believe in doctors, according to
investigators -- could face life in prison if they're convicted in
the starvation death of their
3-year-old son.Ashley Elizabeth Catron and Frederick Anthony Frink faced aggravated child abuse charges in the death of Hendrix Frink. Huntsville police officers testified that the couple's two boys were severely malnourished. Hendrix Frink weighed 13 pounds when he died, prosecutor Tim Douthit said. Frink's 4-year-old brother survived but weighed just 15 pounds, investigators added. It was not clear when they had discovered the condition of the boys in the home. Catron told investigators she gave the children nutritional drinks to "revive" them rather than take them to doctors last year. One investigator said the home smelled of urine, while the boys' cribs were soiled with blood and feces. The couple filed for bankruptcy after accruing tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills. |

the Bronx — Police are looking for a man they say attacked a woman
in a Bronx park early Sunday, stabbing her multiple times and trying
to sexually assault her. The attack happened Sunday around 3:30 a.m.
in Shoelace Park, near East 226th Street and Bronx Boulevard in the
Wakefield section of the Bronx, police said. Authorities said the
man stabbed the 29-year-old woman multiple times in her left side
and attempted to sexually assault her, before fleeing the area in an
unknown direction.EMS responded to the scene and took the victim to an area hospital where she was being treated, officials said. |

Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say two women
were terrified to wake up to a naked man standing in their
bedroom early Friday morning. Police say sometime before
4 a.m., two women were in bed in a home at that location,
when they heard a noise coming from their front door. At first they
thought it was their cat, so they went back to sleep. Police say
they woke a short time later to find a naked man in their
bedroom with the door closed. They immediately recognized him as their next door neighbor, 34-year-old Jamain Simpson. Police say both women began screaming and Simpson put a robe on, told them he was on parole, asked them not to call police, then ran away. According to the arrest report, Simpson left his cell phone behind at the home. The women said they believed that if there had only been one woman in the room, Simpson would have raped her -- but the fact that there were two women in the room scared him. |

was attacked in a Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Delaware, officials say.
The incident happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. at the restaurant on
the 1100 block of Quintillo Drive in Bear on Saturday.Delaware State Police say 19-year-old Jada Blake assaulted the 21-year-old victim after the woman tried to pull her car in front of Blake’s in line. After the woman cut in front of her in line, police say Blake accelerated quickly and blocked the woman’s car from moving forward. Blake then exited her car and confronted the woman. Blake began striking the woman in the head and face through her open window before she exited her car, according to police. Once the victim was out of her car, Blake kicked the woman in her stomach, knowing that she was pregnant, police say. Blake then returned to her car and continued to wait for her drive-thru food service. The victim went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. |

boyfriend's mother, police said.Cops arrived after Saturday afternoon’s shooting and were met at the front door by Ivory Smith, 36, who had called 911, the Indianapolis Star reported Monday, citing the arrest affidavit. “Ivory informed Officer McWhorter that she shot her boyfriend," the affidavit said, according to the paper. Despite the best life-saving efforts, William Wilson Jr., 37, and the baby, Kahdor Wilson, were pronounced dead at the scene, Fox 59 Indianapolis reported. Wilson was Khador's uncle. The Star quoted Wilson’s mother Deborah Cooper as telling investigators that she was in her bed with Kahdor when Smith started shooting. Kahdor was Cooper's grandson. A bullet hit her in the wrist, the paper reported. A moment later she realized the baby had been hit too. The gunfire was a culmination of a fight between Wilson and Smith that began Friday and continued into Saturday, the paper reported. |

Dayvante Raquan Sterns, 21, attacked two other women — one during a Family Dollar store robbery that netted $2,400, prosecutors said. A fourth victim, who had a knife to her throat, bit Sterns so hard he ran away before he could sexually assault her. In June, Sterns pleaded guilty to 22 felony counts, including six counts of first-degree rape, forcible oral sodomy, burglary, assault and battery, kidnapping, and robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was charged in three separate cases. DNA testing connected him the first sexual assault. Oklahoma County District Judge Heather Coyle called Sterns' actions "planned, premeditated, purposeful and calculated." |

parents of a 15-year-old
California girl are being charged with a hate crime
after they allegedly kidnapped and abused their daughter's black
boyfriend after they found him hiding in the home, according
to police.On Thursday afternoon, the 17-year-old (negro sex predator) went to police to report that he'd been held against his will, assaulted and threatened by three people at a home in San Bruno, about 12 miles south of San Francisco, according to a news release by the San Bruno Police. The (negro sex predator) "victim" was "visiting" the girl at her home when the family members arrived around 2:30 a.m. that morning, police said. They then "became irate and started assaulting" him, according to the release. The suspects, which include the girl's mother, Haydee Arguello, 46, her stepfather, Wilfredo Amaya, 46, and her biological father, Luisandor Suarez, 49, allegedly restrained the teen using rope, held him against his will, threatened to kill him and assaulted him multiple times. The girl's parents also allegedly yelled
racial slurs throughout the attack, causing the teen, who is a
black (sexual predator), to believe his race "to be a
motivating factor in the attack," police said. All
of the suspects are of Hispanic descent, police said. The
teen's older sisters, Belkys Gomez and
Katherine Gomez, alleged that the victim attacked their
parents after they found him hiding in a bedroom closet,
which is why they restrained him. Katherine Gomez told the station, "He punched her and then my stepdad, of course, is not going to let anyone hit his wife. They tried to stop him and he was acting very violent so they grabbed a rope to try to tie him down and ask him why he was at the house." When asked by a KGO reporter whether
their parents hurt the victim, Katherine Gomez replied, "No, they
didn't," adding that the the accusations of racial slurs are

afternoon, an arrest report from the East Baton Rouge Parish
Sheriff’s Office, and a press release issued by Louisiana State
Police, provide a better idea of exactly what happened when a Baton
Rouge State Police Lieutenant was arrested and charged with DWI
and speeding early Saturday morning.Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A arrested Sheldon Perkins, 48, of Baton Rouge, both documents say. The trooper wrote in the arrest report that Perkins then began walking away from the scene and onto the roadway. As the trooper attempted to remove Perkins from the roadway, Perkins allegedly pushed the trooper, the arrest report says. According to the arrest report, Perkins responded by resisting. Last week, 36 years after the bloodbath, Sanchez was released from prison and deported to his native Dominican Republic. (CBS) — The Philadelphia Police Department has released the names of
the six officers who were shot during Wednesday’s seven-hour
standoff in the Nicetown-Tioga section of the city. All six
sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were released from the
hospital by 10:30 p.m. The suspected gunman, 36-year-old Maurice
Hill, surrendered to police shortly after midnight. Hill has a
long criminal history dating back to the early 2000s, including guns

Columbus man has been charged in connection with the fake
gender-reveal party shooting that killed one and injured eight in
Colerain Township in 2017. Vandell Slade, 30, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and felonious assault, according to an indictment filed Wednesday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court. Three other men were charged in the shooting in December. On July 8, 2017, Autum Garrett, 22, was shot and killed at a supposed gender-reveal party for Cheyanne Willis, who was 21. Colerain police eventually determined they were dealing with witnesses who had connections to more than one drug ring. Willis told the media that she lost her fetus after being shot in the thigh. But a week later, police announced Willis had admitted she had not been pregnant. Slade's charges also stem from injuries Willis suffered in the shooting. Prosecutors say Willis was the target of the shooting. According to court documents, Roshawn Bishop and another man wanted her dead and "enlisted the help of Vandell Slade." Slade produced two shooters-for-hire: James Echols and Michael Sanon, both from Columbus, officials said. Slade drove the two men to Willis' home the night of the mass shooting, the documents state. "Echols and Sanon opened the screen door to the living room...and opened fire with the intent to kill everyone inside," prosecutors said. Garrett was fatally shot three times. Her husband was shot in the head and wrist, lost his eyesight in one eye and suffered brain damage. The couple's 1-year-old child was shot in the knee and arm. Their 3-year-old was shot in both his calf and his head. Both children survived. An 8-year-old was also among the victims along with Elijah Clemmons, Lori White and Morgan Bradley. Willis, the alleged target, was shot once in the left thigh. Police said the shooting was sparked by drug activity. Police also reported there were no indications the Garrett family was connected to the drug activity that sparked the shootings. It was a case of "wrong place, wrong time". And soon after 11 p.m., he punched a 58-year-old man in the face at West 19th Street and Eighth Avenue — calling him a “f–king honky,” cops said. terrifying carjacking in North Philadelphia. Police say the suspects

on Sunday.Surveillance video showed the men approaching a woman, who was getting into her car. One of the two men held a gun to the woman’s stomach before taking her car with her wallet inside. Authorities say the stolen car was recovered and arrested the two men. The woman was not (physically) harmed during the incident and after the suspects fled in her vehicle, the victim ran to Temple police for help. The other pair of teens may still face pending charges, according to Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea. “A 71-year-old Jewish man told police he was jumped around 5:10 a.m. Monday behind a building on Ross Street, by a group of teens who shoved him to the ground and punched him in the head while going through his pockets,” according to the New York Post. Another incident was reported soon after just blocks from the first. In this instance, a gang of punks went after a 67-year old chasid as he walked on Clymer Street near Wythe Place. “And 10 minutes later, the same group sucker-punched a 56-year-old man near Wythe Place and Wilson Street — breaking his orbital bone in the process,” according to the Post. “The victim was taken to Bellevue, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.” Before the attacks, the slashing of tires belonging to Jews had already been reported. |

BEACH, Fla. — Boynton Beach police are investigating the drowning of
a man they say fled from officers who were responding to a vehicle
burglary Thursday morning.The incident happened just before 8 a.m. when the Boynton Beach Police Communications Center received a 911 call about a possible drowning in a retention pond behind the Canterbury community off of High Ridge Road. Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Dive Team responded to the scene at around 10:30 a.m. and recovered the body of 21-year-old Tariq Bailey of Boynton Beach. According to a report, at 3:19 a.m. two black men were seen pulling on car handles in a parking lot on Quantum Lakes Drive where two cars were reportedly entered and rummaged through. Officers arrived at the scene and found the suspects walking northbound inside the Quantum Town Centre plaza. Officers attempted to make contact with the suspects but they fled on feet, jumping a fence into the Canterbury neighborhood. Officers pursued the suspects, but lost sight of them when they jumped another fence near Northwest 7th Street into a densely wooded area. Boynton Beach police discontinued the search at 4:58 a.m. The report states that 20-year-old Ayrton Errol Clouden Jr. of Boynton Beach told detectives that he and Bailey went into the pond and hid from officers following the vehicle burglaries. Clouden said he got out of the water, however, Bailey went under and failed to resurface. Clouden was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail and charged with burglary to a conveyance. |

Prosecutors accused Nyakeo of raping the then-74-year-old woman in January 2018, and said he was linked to the attack through DNA. The Star-Telegram reports Nyakeo testified that someone must have taken his DNA from a used condom and planted it in the body of the victim. Former HPD cop Gerald Goines surrenders on felony murder charges
in deaths of (WHITE) Houston couple  HOUSTON
— Gerald Goines, the ex-Houston police officer who led the
controversial no-knock raid on Harding Street, has been charged with
two counts of felony murder. Goines surrendered Friday afternoon and his bond was set at $150,000 on each charge. If he makes bond, he will wear a GPS monitor and won't be allowed to have weapons or leave Harris County. Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas were shot to death in the Jan. 28 botched drug raid in southeast Houston. Goines and four other officers were injured in the chaotic shootout. Former Officer Steven Bryant, who was involved with the Harding Street warrant, is charged with second-degree tampering with a government document. His bond was set at $50,000. He will also wear a GPS monitor and can't leave Harris or Fort Bend counties. Ogg said Goines and Bryant have been ordered to surrender by 3 p.m. Friday. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo accused Gerald Goines of lying about a drug buy on a search warrant affidavit to justify the deadly no-knock raid. In the Harding Street warrant, Goines claimed a confidential informant bought black tar heroin at the home of Tuttle and Nicholas the night before the raid. He claimed the informant saw a lot more heroin and a 9mm pistol inside the home. In a search of the home after the shootout, officers didn't find any heroin or 9mm pistol. The informants later told investigators they never bought drugs from Harding Street. The only drug found in the house was marijuana. with the shooting death of a woman in South Fairmount. On Aug. 11,

victim, Kimberly Lorman, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Lorman got caught in the line of fire and was fatally

Both have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Johnson was being held Monday on $100,000 bond, while bond for Beaman-Gerald was set at $250,000, because he was on probation and had a prior record. According to a Raleigh police spokeswoman, officers were called to the 8300 block of Clear Brook Drive at 4:46 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found a man who had been severely injured and was suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police identified the man as Glenn Michael Proto, 54, of Raleigh. He works as a research director for WTVD-TV, the market's ABC affiliate. He was taken to WakeMed for treatment of severe but non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The victim sustained a bruise to her head and was treated at the scene Roughly 90 minutes later, in front of 181 8th Avenue, a 58-year-old man was walking at the location when the suspect struck him in the face and made anti-white statements. The suspect fled westbound on 18th Street. The victim sustained a bloody nose but refused medical attention at the scene. At-home male nurse accused of raping 9-year-old girl MIAMI
- An at-home nurse was arrested Tuesday in Miami-Dade County on
accusations that he raped a
9-year-old girl, authorities said. According to his
arrest report, Jermaine Cheatham, 45, is employed by the
victim's mother to care for the child and the victim's 3-year-old
sister, who is a special needs patient requiring 24/7 care.
Police said the victim had fallen asleep in the living room of her
family's home while watching a movie when Cheatham entered the room,
removed the child's pants, covered her mouth with one hand and
pushed her down on the couch with the other. Authorities said Cheatham then penetrated the victim's anus with his penis. According to the arrest report, the victim's 11-year-old brother heard loud thumping noises and came out of his bedroom to find out what was happening. Police said the boy witnessed his sister being raped and yelled at Cheatham, "What are you doing to my sister?" Cheatham then grabbed the boy and pulled him into the bedroom of his 3-year-old sister, who was sleeping, authorities said. Police said the nurse begged the brother not to tell anyone and tried to convince him that he didn't do anything to the victim. The boy tried to leave the room to tell his mother what he saw, but Cheatham blocked the door and refused to allow the child to leave. Cheatham faces charges of sexual battery on a minor and false imprisonment of a child under the age of 13. |

Man accused of rape in Lynnwood turns himself in LYNNWOOD
— A man accused of raping a 33-year-old woman in the woods in July
turned himself in Tuesday at the Lynnwood Police Department, with an
attorney present, authorities said. Police expected to book him into
the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree rape,
assault, robbery and threats to kill. He’s in his early 20s and
lives in Lynnwood. The woman who was attacked told police a man
struck up a conversation with her while riding the bus on July 26.
They got off at the same stop and went to the same store, where she
bought clothes. Afterward, they walked into the woods in the
17100 block of Highway 99. The assailant allegedly pushed the woman
to the ground, and she hit her head on a tree, briefly knocking her

CLEVELAND, Ohio-- A man is facing charges after he kept a woman
in the freezer of a group home in East Cleveland, police
said. There is an arrest warrant for Eric Glaze, 41,
on charges of kidnapping and attempted murder.The investigation started when the victim crashed her car at East 115th Street and Superior Avenue in Cleveland Tuesday morning while fleeing. East Cleveland Police Cpt. Scott Gardner said the woman went to the house for a party, where she believed she was drugged with a narcotic. She told officers the people at the party thought she was dead and put her in the freezer, preparing to dispose of her body. She woke up at about 10 a.m. Tuesday and was able to escape, Gardner said. The victim told police she was likely in the freezer since Sunday. The woman suffered frostbite and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. The suspect and the victim were friends, according to Gardner. |

Fla. (WTXL) — A Tallahassee man has been charged with felony animal
cruelty after police say he poured pitchers of hot water on his "extremely
underweight" dog and later beat the dog, leaving it with
multiple fractured ribs. When officers arrived, they spoke with the office manager of the complex who said she was heading to Jeremy Latimore's when she saw him in the walkway in the front of his apartment. She told officers that Latimore's dog was also with him along with a crate. The office manager said that Latimore was "pouring water on the dog with a 'Koolaid' style pitcher." "[The office manager] described steam coming from the water," investigators wrote in the report. "The dog was squealing and jumped when Latimore poured the water on it. [The officer manager] advised the water appeared to be very hot. After a while, Latimore grabbed and picked up the dog by the neck and threw it into the apartment." The dog was taken to the city animal shelter for an evaluation. MD — A Baltimore teenager was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday,
more than a year after he accelerated a stolen Jeep and fatally
struck a Maryland police officer in a suburban cul-de-sac.Dawnta Harris, 17, was tried as an adult earlier this year and convicted of felony murder in the slaying of Baltimore County police Officer Amy Caprio. A judge in the suburban county that surrounds the city of Baltimore also sentenced Harris to 20 years in prison for burglary. Caprio encountered Harris in May 2018 while responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Footage of Caprio's body-worn camera played in court showed the 29-year-old officer repeatedly ordering Harris out of the car before drawing her weapon and screaming, "Stop! Stop!" Harris ducked his head and hit the gas, slamming the Jeep into her. She fired once, the bullet shattering the windshield. Harris ditched the stolen vehicle a few blocks away. The Baltimore Sun reported area residents found Caprio bleeding with tire marks across her legs. She had broken ribs and injuries to internal organs. Caprio's husband and mother spoke at the hearing. "Amy was unnecessarily and remorselessly killed," said Tim Caprio, the officer's husband. Three other teens, identified as Harris' accomplices, pleaded guilty to felony murder and are scheduled to be sentenced in September. Bell was sprung in April 2018 after serving more than 40 years. Bell, Anthony Bottom and Albert Washington were convicted of luring Piagentini and Jones to a Harlem housing project with a bogus 911 call in 1971 and then assassinating them. Man charged in fatal shooting in Spotsylvania, Virginia  A
Spotsylvania County man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of
another man on Matti Hill Court, authorities said Thursday.Augustus A. Rhodes, 32, was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said its investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible. Rhodes is being held in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Deputies were called Monday night to the 9900 block of Matti Hill Court near the Spotsylvania campus of Germanna Community College, where they found James Michael Wallin, 18, of Spotsylvania, dead at the scene. According to Sheriff’s Maj. Troy Skebo, evidence shows two people arrived at the scene in a silver sedan about 8:40 p.m. Monday. The driver of the vehicle exited the sedan and assaulted Wallin, which led to an exchange of gunfire between the driver and Wallin, Skebo said. Wallin was fatally wounded during the exchange and the driver was also shot, Skebo said. The passenger in the sedan then assisted the wounded driver back into the vehicle. The wounded man and the sedan were later located at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center, Skebo said. Detectives are investigating a motive for the shooting and trying to determine the identity of the passenger in the vehicle, who Skebo said is considered a witness. - (Black-on-white) |

shot and killed in northwest Las Vegas Monday night as 59-year-old Steven
Colburn.Colburn was shot multiple times in the torso during an attempted robbery in the 3300 block of North Thom Boulevard just before 11 p.m. The death was ruled a homicide. Authorities describe the suspect as a black male adult, 25 to 35 years of age, with a thin build. He is still on the run. LVMPD’s Homicide Section say Colburn and an adult female were parked on the street inside of a vehicle when the suspect approached them holding a firearm. He demanded the woman’s property and demanded her and the victim exit the vehicle. Colburn ran away and was chased by the suspect, who began to shoot, striking him multiple times. On Aug. 2, police were called to an apartment near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road, where things had allegedly gotten violent between a father and his teen daughter. According to the police report, Luchembe said he "became upset because he asked her to save him a slice of pizza. He only got one piece." The teen girl tells police her father "splashed water in her face" and "slapped her a couple of times and put his hands on her neck." According to the police report, the girl also said that her father pushed her to the ground, punched her in the stomach, pulled her hair, spit on her, put her head in the sink and punched her in the face. The report goes on to say that Luchembe "choked her to the point of where she passed out and urinated on herself." Luchembe was taken into custody. During a later interview, the police report states that Luchembe "admitted to putting his hands on her neck, they tussled, pulled her up by shirt collar, threw her on the couch, held her down and slapped her on the face." prosecutors announced a 252-count indictment that accuses 80 people
in the U.S. and Nigeria of participating in a "massive
conspiracy to steal millions of dollars through a variety of fraud
schemes."The defendants allegedly laundered the funds through a Los Angeles-based money laundering network. Eleven of them were arrested Thursday in Southern California, while three others were taken into custody elsewhere in the U.S., according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California. Two were already in federal custody on other charges, and one was arrested earlier this week. The remaining defendants are believed to be abroad, most of them in Nigeria, authorities said. According to the indictment, the accused used business email compromise frauds, romance scams and schemes targeting the elderly to defraud victims out of millions of dollars. woman who fought off an attempted sexual assault at gunpoint later
led deputies to her attacker, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.Rashard Markeith Moody, 30, of North Lauderdale, is facing charges that include attempted sexual assault with a weapon and false imprisonment, arrest records show. According to the arrest report, he walked up to the woman early Monday as she sat in her car parked in the 7600 block of Tam O Shanter Boulevard in North Lauderdale. Moody pointed a gun at her head and said, “If you comply I won’t hurt you,” and then he ordered her to get in the back seat and take her pants off, which she did, the arrest report said. He got in the back seat, undid his belt, put the gun on his lap and pulled out a condom. When he used both hands to open the condom packet, she grabbed the gun. There was a struggle and Moody punched the woman in the head a couple of times, the report said. She managed to jump out of her car and run away. When Moody ran off, the woman returned to her car, called 911 and tried to follow him. Further investigation showed that Moody was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm; that he was arrested for an armed robbery in Palm Beach County last year; and that he was wanted in Martin County for driving with a suspended license, officials said. |

Police seized firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and tactical gear, including high-capacity magazines and an assault rifle, which are illegal to possess in California, police said in a news release. |

This incident, and the protests which followed, exposed simmering fault lines and deep-seated racism within Indonesia, stemming from the fact people indigenous to Papua are Melanesian, ethnically distinct from most of the rest of the country and more closely linked to the neighbouring people of Papua New Guinea. Driver Arrested, Charged In January 2018 Hit-And-Run That Left
(White) Man Dead  JOLIET,
Ill. (CBS) — A suspect has been arrested and charged in a deadly
hit-and-run that had gone unsolved since January of last year.Illinois State Police on Tuesday arrested Carrifthian N. Lester, 38, of Calumet City, in connection with the crash that happened on Jan.8, 2019. Lester was charged with failure to report an accident involving personal injury or death, and failure to stop after having an accident involving personal injury or death – both felonies. Aaron Scofield was killed at 4 a.m. that morning in the crash off on Interstate 80 near Interstate 355. His mother and stepfather, Jim and Linda Brodnicki, said Scofield was on his way home from his overnight work shift when a semi-trailer truck likely sideswiped his car, disabling it and leaving him stuck in the middle of the highway. The truck driver never stopped. A second car then hit Scofield’s car, likely as he was trying to get to safety. In May 2018, Illinois State Police were brought in to investigate the circumstances of the crashes and identified Lester as the offending driver. State police did not specify whether Lester was driving the truck. - (Black-on-white) |

the weeks after a viral video of a young woman taking
the lid off a Blue Bell container, licking the ice
cream, and putting it back in the display case, videos
of copycats doing the same thing are now making the
rounds on social media. The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s
Office says Lenise Martin III, 36, has been
taken into custody after being filmed in a store licking
a Blue Bell ice cream container, moving his finger
through the container, then putting it back onto the
shelf.
