interracial pair) charged in murder of White neighbor   FAIRMONT
— Two Fairmont residents have been arrested and charged in the
murder of a 55-year-old man who lived in their neighborhood.According to a statement from sheriff’s Maj. Damien Green, Joshua Wayne Graham, 28, of 1343 Williamson Road, and Michelle Hunt Green, 50, of 1714 Williamson Road, are charged in the stabbing death of Glenn Franklin Bass, 55, of 1724 Williamson Road. Deputies found Bass dead after being called to his home around 3 a.m. on April 3. He was there alone. According to McLean, evidence suggests that Graham and Green were trying to rob Bass and something went wrong. He said all three of the homes are located fairly close to each other. Graham and Green are each charged with first-degree murder, felony conspiracy, first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Graham and Green currently are being held in the Robeson County Detention Center without bond. Graham had already been in the jail on unrelated charges, according to McLean. Green was charged on April 7 with burglary, and the murder charge was later added. - (Black-on-white) |

charged with first-degree murder in the August 2017 slaying of
26-year-old Jessica Gomez in
Knigge's Clare apartment. Prosecutors lowered the murder charge
against Williams in return for his pleas. Knigge's trial is

KY (WAVE) - Police have arrested two people, accusing them of
setting up a transaction that led to a deadly shooting in Louisville
early Thursday morning. Officers say Tiffany Taylor, 30, set
up the victim, pretending to want to buy marijuana from him.The victim, who’s been identified by friends and family as 31-year-old Chuck Taylord, met Tiffany Taylor just before 2 a.m. on West Market Street in the Portland neighborhood. During the deal, police said Steven Guy shot Taylord once, killing him. A juvenile witness was with Taylor and Guy at the time of the homicide, police said. Just hours later, Louisville Metro police questioned Taylor and subsequently arrested her, charging her with murder, robbery and tampering with physical evidence. Officers said she admitted her involvement in the homicide during questioning, but also pretended to eat a SIM card from her phone “in an attempt to conceal and destroy” it. Guy was arrested in New Albany and will be extradited to Louisville to face charges. Police haven’t shared details of his arrest and his mugshot is not yet available. |

giving birth to a baby of another race.The husband and wife, who now live in the UK, are suing the recently shuttered CT Fertility in Trumbell and Dr. Melvin Thornton, claiming the shocking mixup has left them with “haunting uncertainties regarding their second-born son.” The pair first visited the clinic in 2015 while struggling to conceive and froze embryos using the husband’s sperm and eggs from a donor they specifically chose, according to their suit, which was first filed in a Bridgeport court in November. The wife then became pregnant with the couple’s first child via in vitro fertilization — and gave birth to a boy in April 2016, the suit says. They returned to the clinic in September 2016 in the hopes of giving their son a full sibling by using the embryos stored from the previous procedure. But when the wife gave birth to another son in August 2018, the tot didn’t resemble his older brother “whatsoever” — and had “much darker skin pigmentation than either the father, genetic mother or their first son.” Realizing something was very wrong, they ordered DNA tests — which gave the stunning result that their youngest child is not biologically related to the dad, according to court papers. “They are barraged daily with questions and suspicions regarding who the child’s real father is and even whether the [sic] mother had an affair (with an 'nword'),” the suit says. |

Tenn. (WKRN) - A man walked past a sexual assault in progress near
downtown Nashville and pulled the suspect off the victim, according
to an arrest affidavit. Metro police were called to the
Greyhound Bus Station on 5th Avenue South Thursday afternoon after a
woman reported she was raped nearby.When officers arrived, they spoke with the woman who said Deterio Jones, 39, raped her near 6th Avenue South and Division Street. According to the arrest affidavit, a man walked by and told officers he had to pull the man off the woman. Together the two walked to the bus station to call police, according to the affidavit. After speaking with the woman and witness, police say they found Jones near Lafayette Street and arrested him. Officers say Jones told police he had consensual sex with the woman but "could not recall any statements made by the victim that indicated she consented to having sex with him." Officers say Jones consented to a DNA test. He is charged with rape. |

This week, authorities identified forensic evidence linking Patterson to a similar attack on June 27 of a 91-year-old victim in McCordsville. Patterson was convicted of rape in 1998 in LaPorte County after attacking a 79-year-old woman and was released from prison on Feb. 25, 2017, according to authorities. |

man who officials believe was planning to have a sexual encounter
with someone he thought was a
13-year-old girl was taken into custody Wednesday by
Toledo police.Chris James, 41, of the 1300 block of Colton Street, was charged with importuning and attempt to commit an offense purposefully or knowingly engage in conduct that would result in the offense, according to Toledo Municipal Court records. Mr. James had several online conversations on the website MeetMe.com with a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl, according to court records. The person was actually an undercover Toledo police officer. He made arrangements to meet the person in the city, and when he arrived at the location, he was arrested, records show. He believed he was meeting the girl and her uncle, who was another undercover police officer, and he made several sexual comments online and in person about his plans for the encounter, records show. |

shooting, according to cops. Troy Thomas, 33, finally saw the

Keith in 2011 outside a house party in South Ozone

He later died at New York Hospital Queens.The two were fighting over something “nonsensical” when Thomas allegedly went to his car, grabbed a gun and shot Keith at point-blank range, cops said. Keith later died at New York Hospital Queens. Thomas fled to Canada by car and, within a couple of days, he was on a plane with a family member’s passport heading to Guyana — and out of reach of city police. Cops didn’t catch a break in the case until July of 2016 when the two countries struck a diplomatic deal. The tattoo-covered Guyana native said nothing Thursday afternoon as cops dragged him in front of a judge in Queens. |

confrontation on a Frontier Airlines flight that landed her in jail.

The flight attendants apologized and immediately invited the mother and her teenage daughter to move to either end of the plane so that the seat area could be cleaned. The mother and daughter were also told that once boarding was complete they would be provided other seats if available. The daughter was also offered cleaning products and invited to use the lavatory to wash up. The mother was unsatisfied with the response and became disruptive. As a result, the flight attendants determined that the mother and daughter should be deplaned and accommodated on another flight. The mother refused, and following procedure, law enforcement was called. Law enforcement then requested that everyone deplane so that the mother and daughter could be removed allowing the aircraft to be re-boarded and depart. The victim’s widow told Eyewitness News the family thought they had closure but the rug was pulled from under their feet. “I don’t have any kind words for the district attorney, and he knows that,” FOP President John McNesby said. The FOP of Philadelphia gathered to rally around victims of violent crime, especially Maureen Faulkner. Her husband was gunned down by Abu-Jamal during a traffic stop in 1981. Abu-Jamal was convicted of the murder, but afterward, Faulkner says she was told he would remain in prison for the rest of his life if she discontinued seeking the death penalty. “I was told that if I put Mumia in for life without the possibility of parole that our family would be able to live a normal life, and it’s not happened,” Faulkner said. Last week, she learned Krasner dropped his opposition to an appeals hearing for Abu-Jamal, which grants him a new hearing. “How dare he do that to me. How dare he do that to the Faulkner family. He betrayed us, he lied to us,” Faulkner said. Now with the FOP backing Faulkner, they’re hoping to get Krasner out. |

Attempted Burglary Suspect Arrested in Connection With Newport
Beach Double Homicide of WHITE couple  A
man who was already in custody on suspicion of two attempted
residential burglaries in Irvine was arrested Thursday in connection
with the killings of two people in a Newport Beach home over the
weekend, officials said. Jamon Rayon Buggs, 44, was arrested on suspicion of killing Darren Partch, 38, and Wendi Miller, 48, according to the Newport Beach Police Department. The pair were found dead by Partch’s roommate in an apartment along the 2100 Block of East 15th Street about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Miller, of Costa Mesa, was described as a well-liked mother of two from Costa Mesa who ran a nonprofit that worked to help children within the family court system. Partch was a hockey player turned account executive. The pair were last seen near the Sandpiper Bar in Laguna Beach around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, according to friends. Miller planned to give Partch a ride home since the two lived just a few blocks away from each other, and when she didn’t come home, her family started circulating a missing person post on social media and contacting news outlets. Their exact cause of death has not been released, but investigators said they found no signs of forced entry at the apartment. OR (KPTV) - A hit-and-run suspect involved in a crash that killed an
85-year-old woman in southwest Portland was arrested a month later
after breaking into a business in north Portland, according to
police. Officers responded to a burglary at Metropolis Cycle Repair
on the 2200 block of North Williams Avenue at 3:38 a.m. Wednesday.Nolan A. Harris, 30, was taken into custody. Police said they then identified him as the hit-and-run suspect from March 19. In that case, Ortrud F. Vatheuer of Portland was hit by a driver at Southwest 45th Avenue and Carson Street. Vatheuer was pronounced dead at the scene. Police asked for the public’s help locating the suspect and a red or burgundy older van. The suspect vehicle was located by police in Tukwila, Washington on April 10. The van was seized as evidence. Gwinnett woman charged in (white) roommate’s death says gun went
off when cleaning  A
woman was fatally shot in Gwinnett County on Saturday evening while
her roommate was cleaning a gun, police said. Officers responding to
a home on Wynhall Drive around 6:30 p.m. found a woman shot in the
chest, according to Gwinnett police. She was taken to a local
hospital with “significant injuries,” where she later died. She was
identified as Dixie Cowe, 43, of
Norcross. The woman’s roommate, 26-year-old Keely Kilpatrick,
said the gun accidentally went off. Both lived at the home in
the Wyntree subdivision with Kilpatrick’s mother, police said. The
neighborhood is located off Medlock Bridge Road, which is partly in
the city of Peachtree Corners and partly considered unincorporated
Norcross. |

NEW YORK, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A man is under arrest after an elderly
woman was attacked and raped in her Brooklyn home -- and her Life
Alert may have saved her life. Police say the
88-year-old victim allowed the attacker into her
apartment on Vermont Street around 1 p.m. Wednesday.Selwyn Worrell, 24, lives next to the victim and is charged with rape, sexually motivated assault, and burglary. Authorities say Worrell knocked on his neighbor's door, which she opened after recognizing him. He reportedly told her, "I just want to cut through here," which police believe was a ruse to access her home. Once inside, police say he punched her in the face, grabbed her by the neck and dragged her to the basement. He is accused of tying her hands with an electrical cord and sexually assaulting her. He then fled the scene but was arrested nearby. According to next-door neighbor Gregory Damien-Worrell, the suspect is his nephew. He said the victim has known her assailant for 20 years, almost his entire life. Police say the victim's Life Alert contacted EMS and may be responsible for saving her. beat a 4-month-old to death upon learning the child wasn’t his.
Jose Agurcia-Avila was charged with first-degree murder
in perpetration of aggravated child abuse and first-degree murder in
perpetration of aggravated child neglect.On April 12, the mother called dispatch saying the infant was having difficulties breathing. She called 911 and then began administering CPR. The victim was then rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in extremely critical condition where he later died. The Shelby County Medical Examiner ruled the child’s death a homicide, saying he had sustained injuries consistent with blunt force trauma, including a fractured skull, fractured ribs and a serious case of pneumonia. Several days later, the mother returned to the police department claiming Agurcia-Avila had confessed to her that he had killed the child. He reportedly stated he believed himself to be the child’s father, but after the child’s birth discovered that was not the case. He struck the child multiple times in the head, killing him, police said. |

Jones' gun was found about 125 feet from his body; it had not been fired. During the trial, prosecutors said Raja never identified himself as a police officer. found strangled in Lakewood Motel 6 room  LAKEWOOD,
Colo. — More than 150 days after a 22-year-old woman was found
strangled to death in a Lakewood motel room, police have arrested a
suspect.On Nov. 8, around 12:45 p.m., officers with the Lakewood Police Department responded to a death investigation call from the hotel manager of the Motel 6 on Wadsworth Boulevard. The manager said the cleaning staff had found a deceased woman in the bathroom of one of the rooms, according to an affidavit. When officers arrived, they found a woman naked in the bathroom. Officers did not see any obvious signs of injury, but noticed what appeared to be a blemish mark on the right side of her neck. The hotel was registered to a woman named Oliva Margaret Hector, 22, who was later identified as the deceased woman. The hotel manager said she had checked Hector into the motel the prior evening at 6:58 p.m. Authorities found that she had been a victim of domestic violence and strangulation in August 2018, according to the affidavit. The offender in that case had been arrested. Because Hector had a history of being a victim of domestic violence, authorities requested assistance from the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. A coroner investigator arrived at the scene and found that one of her eyes had petechial hemorrhaging, an injury consistent with strangulation. He did not find any other injuries, according to the affidavit. Police determined her death was suspicious, though there was no obvious evidence at the scene to help investigators learn how she died. On Nov. 10, Lakewood police talked with Matthew Williams, a potential suspect, at his home in Mountain View. He asked police if Hector was OK and said, “If it involves Olivia, there is drama involved because she has a lot of demons,” according to the affidavit. He said the number of cops at his front door “freaked” him out and agreed to talk to Lakewood police at the station. He told authorities he had met Hector in 2015 after graduating from college. They dated and still had a sexual relationship afterward, he said. He had been in the hotel room with her earlier in the day when she was found dead, according to the affidavit. Hector told him she wanted to be alone, so he left and hadn’t heard from her since, he told police, according to the affidavit. They were not intimate during this time, he said, and when he left, she was still clothed and alive. Hector died from asphyxia secondary to strangulation and the manner of her death is homicide. Blood flow to her brain was blocked due to external pressure on her neck, he said, so she lost consciousness before dying. The skin on her neck displayed areas of blunt force trauma consistent with strangulation, he said. The doctor also found that she had ethanol and THC (weed) in her system when she died. |

He said when Isaiah is not taking his medication, he can often be seen rocking back-and-forth in a corner or lapses into a hyper religious state where he sings Christian songs out loud. At least one witness has told investigators when Peoples emerged from his damaged vehicle he was muttering “I love you Jesus.” Peoples’ mother told the Associated Press Wednesday her son is a “model citizen” and would not deliberately drive his car into pedestrians. Leevell Peoples told the AP the only situation she can imagine could have influenced her son is a bout of PTSD, and that her son was discharged from the Army because of the disorder. as federal authorities investigated his background, CNN has learned.The case of convicted terrorist-turned-US-citizen Vallmoe Shqaire raises questions not only about how Shqaire slipped past the enhanced vetting process implemented after 9/11, but also about why US law enforcement did not act more swiftly once his deception was discovered. Federal authorities have been aware since at least 2010 that Shqaire was arrested on a bombing-related charge in Israel and served time in prison. They've had fingerprint evidence conclusively linking him to the terrorist act, committed under the name Mahmad hadr Mahmad Shakir, since early 2016, according to federal court records. "Somebody dropped the ball," said Seamus Hughes, deputy director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University. Shqaire, 51, carried out the attack in Israel in 1988 "acting on the direction" of a cell of the Palestine Liberation Organization, at the time a terrorist group in the eyes of the US government, according to records filed in US District Court in Los Angeles. Despite his conviction, which should have barred him from even entering the United States, much less becoming an American citizen, Shqaire's application was approved and he took the oath of allegiance on November 6, 2008, in the waning days of the second George W. Bush administration, the records state. He was charged in September with illegally obtaining his American citizenship by intentionally withholding his criminal record and past associations. "By concealing his violent, terrorist conduct, defendant circumvented the procedures our immigration system depends upon," prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum. Hopkins was sentenced to 20 years in prison last year. Adams is now being held pending sentencing. He faces a maximum 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. Police said while Taylor was working as a teachers aide at Lusher Elementary in 2015, he molested a 7-year-old student. Charges weren't filed and Taylor went on to get other teaching jobs. He finally landed in the Ferguson-Florissant School District at Walnut Grove Elementary school, where he taught fifth grade. Taylor was arrested in November of 2018 after his DNA was found to be a match to samples found on his former student. But months later, while behind bars awaiting trial, police said Taylor and Johnson tried to hire a hitman to kill the child and his family. The I-Team also uncovered, during that time, Taylor was still being paid by the Ferguson-Florissant School District. The teen, who routinely took the No. 4 train from 59th Street station in Manhattan to get to school in the Bronx, told cops she had four more run-ins with Gami, during which he would sit or stand next to her. The incidents continued to escalate, the source said. The second time, he allegedly touched her hand, according to the source. Next, he allegedly rubbed her side while sitting next to her. The fourth time around, he allegedly groped her buttocks, the source added. And in mid-April, Gami allegedly rubbed the back of his hand on her vagina, over her clothes, according to the source. The victim, who is from Queens, told her classmate about the incidents and reported them to her school counselor, who called 911. The NYPD then assembled a Transit Special Victims task force to “ghost” the victim while she went through her normal subway routine. The task force followed the teen on Wednesday during her commute to school, but did not see Gami. The next day, they waited on the No. 4 platform while the victim arrived and stood in her usual spot to wait for her train. woman  SAN
LEANDRO — Prosecutors on Friday charged an 18-year-old San Leandro
High School student with robbing a blind woman of her cellphone. The
robbery occurred about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on Davis Street near
Clarke Street, according to San Leandro police. The 38-year-old
victim was using a white cane to scan the sidewalk when it came into
contact with what she thought was another person. Before she could
react, she felt someone try to grab her iPhone out of her hand.Police said the victim tried to fight back by resisting and holding on to her phone. At one point, the victim lost her balance and fell to the ground. The suspect continued to pull on the phone until it slipped out of its case, and it was taken from the victim’s grasp. The victim screamed for help during the struggle, which drew the attention of a bicyclist and a person on a nearby balcony, according to police. Information they provided helped officers locate the suspect hiding between two parked cars several blocks away. The suspect was identified as Jujuan Despanie. “I have seen many cruel acts committed against different people, but this one is especially disturbing,” said San Leandro police Lt. Isaac Benabou. |

stranger in Northwest Portland, police say.Princeton Owens, 23, was arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, according to Portland police. He’s being held in the Multnomah County Inverness Jail on $20,000 bail. Police said officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Northwest Kearney Street and 19th Avenue about 12:30 a.m. and found the sexual assault victim. Other officers arrested Owens. |

man was stabbed near Prospect Park in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon,
authorities said.Two men got into a fight around 4 p.m. on President Street in Crown Heights when one of them pulled out a box cutter and plunged it into the other’s stomach, splattering blood across a nearby car, witnesses said. The suspect fled down the street with a friend while the victim, angered he’d been stabbed, tried to follow him, witnesses said. “Get back over here, get back, come on, come on, let’s go at it again!” the victim said, according to a witness, while blood poured from his stomach. Finally he sat down because he was losing so much blood, the witness said. The suspect was apprehended just over a block away, on Rogers Avenue. The Post witnessed the suspect being taken out of an apartment building, shirtless and covered in blood. |

(CBS) – A Hyde Park woman is facing eight counts of vandalism Friday
for damage to gravestones
in Mount Hope Cemetery in March and may be linked to a spree of area
vandalisms. According to the prosecutor in West Roxbury District
Court, where she faced a judge Friday, Deborah Gideon, 53,
said she was anointing statues and monuments. Police believe
she might be responsible for the vandalism of statues and monuments
in several neighborhoods in the city, including a March vandalism of
Mount Hope Cemetery and damage to statues at St. Gregory’s in
Dorchester and St. Anne’s in Hyde Park. She may also be linked
to the oily damage to the World War II Memorial in South Boston.Boston police said they observed Gideon throw a red powder into the air on Millstone Street on Thursday night. They followed her to Mount Hope Cemetery in Mattapan, where Gideon allegedly got out of her car and threw something at the gravestones before heading further into the cemetery. |

founder resigns after alleged rapes at Africa school An
American woman who established a charity to help vulnerable
girls in Liberia has resigned six months after taking
a leave of absence in the wake of allegations that a local staffer
raped several girls in its care. More Than Me founder and chief
executive officer Katie Meyler announced her resignation
Friday in a message on her Facebook page. The organization confirmed
the decision to ProPublica, whose reporting on the rape allegations
led Liberian authorities to reopen its investigation and led to
Meylers leave of absence. Meyler, 37, started her leave of absence
in October after ProPublica reported that former staffer Macintosh
Johnson had sexually assaulted students at a More Than Me
branch in the Liberian capital of Monrovia. Johnson
had AIDS and died in jail in 2016 while awaiting trial.
ProPublica reported that Meyler and Johnson were once in a romantic
relationship. |
