BLACK DEMON KILLER suspects, ages 12 to 16, busted in fatal
shooting of (WHITE) Nashville musician Kyle Yorlets   Five
NIGRO teens — including one as young as 12 — were arrested in the
shooting death and robbery of 24-year-old singer Kyle
Yorlets in Tennessee. Metropolitan Nashville Police
identified three of the teens in a Friday news release as Roniyah
McKnight, 14, Diamond Lewis, 15, and Decorrius Wright,
16. The other juveniles are a 12-year-old girl and a
13-year-old boy. Tennessee law prohibits the identification of
suspects under age 13.Yorlets, a Pennsylvania native and Belmont University graduate, was shot outside his Nashville home Thursday afternoon. Investigators believe Yorlets was shot after refusing to hand over his car keys to the teens, who had already taken his wallet. He made it back inside after he was shot, where one of his housemates found him — and was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical center. The teens’ getaway vehicle was a stolen red Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck and was later abandoned. Two stolen pistols were found at the time of the arrest. The vehicle was also recovered. All five teens will charged with criminal homicide. Yorlets was a singer in the pop/rock band Caverton [stet]. On the band’s website, Yorlets is quotes saying, “We hope our music can be both relatable and encouraging to those who need it. Life is crazy and unpredictable, and we want to portray that in our music.” “We are in a state of shock and are having to grasp the reality that is now in front of us. We are heartbroken,” Yorlet’s band members, Michael Curry, Christian Ferguson, and Michael Wiebell said in a statement Friday. “We are heartbroken.” - (Black-on-white) |

O' LAKES, Fla. — Pasco County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man
suspected of killing another man in a January road rage shooting.
Damion Brissett, 40, is charged with second-degree murder. He
is accused of shooting Scott Ryan
Bartolotti, 38, on Jan. 15 at Collier Parkway and
State Road 54 in Land O’Lakes. Brissett claims Bartolotti rear-ended
him at the intersection. “I just got rear-ended and I came
out,” Brissett told 911 dispatchers. “As I’m looking at the back of
the vehicle, the driver that rear-ended me tried to run me over with
his car.” Brissett remained on the line until a deputy arrived to
retrieve the gun. However, an investigation found Bartolotti’s
car was moving away from Brissett at the time of the shooting.
A criminal complaint from the state of Florida states “Brissett’s
deadly force was not ‘necessary to prevent imminent death or great
bodily harm to himself.’” Deputies spoke with three witnesses at the
scene.A medical examiner ruled Bartolotti had a gunshot wound to his left shoulder and ruled his death a homicide. First responders took Bartolotti to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he died of his injuries. - (Black-on-white) |

1 (white man) dead, 1 (black man) arrested after shooting during
drug deal in Dayton  DAYTON
— One man is dead and another has been arrested following a
shooting on Adelite Avenue in Dayton late Monday night, according to
police. Diamond Carlton,
37, of North Balitmore, Ohio was identified as the victim by the
Montgomery County Coroner’s Office after police said he was shot
multiple times around 11:45 p.m. Monday. Carlton came to Dayton
from the Findlay, Ohio area to buy drugs and was shot several
times during an attempted drug transaction, Dayton police Sgt.
Michael Godsey said. Carlton was transported to an area hospital
where he later died from his injuries, Godsey said. Three
other people, including a woman identified as Carlton’s girlfriend,
were with him when he was shot, but they were not injured, according
to Godsey. Marcus Brigham Jr., 26, was identified by homicide detectives as a possible person of interest and was later arrested on a preliminary charge of murder, according to police. - (Black-on-white) |

22-year-old Plano man has been arrested on a charge of continuous
sexual abuse of a child and online solicitation of a
minor, according to Allen police.Dontarious Jamal Scott was initially arrested on Jan. 9 on charges of criminal trespassing. Police continued their investigation and later obtained arrest warrants for the sexual abuse charge and the solicitation charge. |

Bridges employee arrested after fathering child with a woman
with disabilities, police say An
employee at a Rockledge facility for people with disabilities was
arrested Wednesday after police said he fathered a child with one of
the clients.Willie Shorter, 58, of the 1300 block of Briarwood Drive, was charged with lewd and lascivious battery on a disabled person. He posted $15,000 bail Thursday at the Brevard County Jail and did not make a first appearance in court, the State Attorney's Office said. Prosecutors will be scheduling an arraignment date. Shorter was "direct support staff" in charge of helping care for the adult client and other people with developmental disabilities at a group home operated by Bridges, according to president and CEO David Cooke. Police described Shorter as a "caretaker" in his arrest report. Bridges is a nonprofit centered in Rockledge that provides services for people with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities. In January 2015, staff discovered the woman, who police said in a report had "the mental capacity of ... a small child," was pregnant, Cooke said. |

CLARA COUNTY (KPIX 5) — A homeless man wanted in the rape of a
woman whose family had befriended him was taken into custody
Friday in a San Jose encampment, authorities said. San Jose police
said 43-year-old Sharwian Bobian was being taken to the
Santa Clara County jail where he will be held on sexual assault
charges. The case had stirred up a firestorm of controversy after
the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office initially decided
not to file charges because Bobian’s history of mental illness
would make it difficult to win a conviction. After the outcry,
prosecutors filed charges earlier this week. |

Teen arrested in rape, murder of Modesto care home resident Modesto
Police on Thursday arrested a teenager in the 2017 murder and rape
of a woman who lived at a mental health facility off of Carver Road.
Jenny Wu, 41, was found without clothing on the
morning of April 21, 2017, positioned between a utility box and a
fence in an alley off Evergreen Avenue near Carver Road. She’d been
asphyxiated.Detectives collected DNA as part of their investigation and recently got a match from the Department of Justice Crime Lab that, along with other evidence, led to the arrest of 18-year-old Seth Becknel, according to a press release. He was 17 at the time of the murder. |

assistant football coach at a New Jersey high school is accused of
having sex with a female student.Mark Kinney, 31, of Clementon, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct. Kinney worked as an assistant football coach at Maple Shade High School and was also employed by a contractor who provides paraprofessional services to students at the school. Investigators say Kinney had sex with a Maple Shade High School student during the current school year. Investigators are not revealing the victim’s age or additional details in order to protect her identity. |

The projector was still sitting on the front porch. Police officers arrested and charged 41-year-old Antonio Smallwood with obscene sexual display and obstruction of justice without force or threats. Neighbors said it's not the first time they've witnessed Smallwood acting erratic. with rape and other sex offenses. The disturbing allegations came

facility did not have a license. The 67-year-old victim
accuses the facility's owner and her caretaker, Dorothy Brown,
72, of sexually assaulting her by taking her to the basement of the
home and forcing her to perform sex acts. In a statement to police,
the victim said Brown told her that if she told anyone she would
"slap her in the face." |

shooting a Yonkers police officer two years ago was sentenced Friday
to 24 years to life in prison. Frank Valencia, of New

Kayla Maher as she and her partner approached his
car around 8 p.m. on September 25, 2017. The officers were
responding to calls of a suspicious vehicle that had been sitting
for over an hour at Marshall Road and Ridge Drive with two men
inside. Maher, who was shot in the chin, read an impact statement in
court before the sentencing.She also expressed outrage at the sentencing. "Twenty-four years for a guy that not only possessed a firearm and shot at multiple police officers with every intention of ending our lives, but a psycho who bought the pieces and manufactured the gun, that's a joke," she said. "I hope the next 24 years make you feel as uneasy as you've made me feel for the last year and a half. I hope you never feel safe." The other Hispanic person in the car, Jerry Reyes, was arrested at the scene and charged with criminal possession of a weapon. A loaded Glock semi-automatic handgun, a high-capacity magazine and numerous bullets were recovered at the scene. A separate charge against Reyes is still pending. |

Man suspected of killing (White) state trooper had criminal past
in Chesterfield   A
Virginia State Police trooper assisting in a drug investigation was
fatally wounded in a shootout that also left a suspect dead just
outside Farmville.The trooper, Lucas B. Dowell, a member of a state police tactical team, was helping the Piedmont Regional Drug and Gang Task Force execute a search warrant at a home in Cumberland County on Monday. State police said the suspect started shooting at officers after they entered his home shortly before 10 p.m. in the 1500 block of Cumberland Road just north of Farmville. According to the police, members of the team returned fire and fatally wounded the suspect — a 44-year-old man who was sentenced decades ago to 23 years in prison for attempted murder and robbery in Chesterfield County. Dowell, 28, was taken to Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, where he died from his injuries. The suspect, Corey Johnson, died on the scene. At the age of 19, Johnson was convicted in Chesterfield County of attempted murder, robbery and two firearm charges in connection with an incident where he was accused of robbing a man at a bank ATM, according to court papers. Johnson was sentenced in 1994 to serve 23 years, and after violating the conditions of his probation or parole in 2008, he received some additional active time. and charged Alvin Gilbert, 27, for the murder of Barkhamer.

Officers responded shortly after 4 p.m. to find the victim inside a home, and suffering from two gunshot wounds. According to investigators, the man, identified as Corey Barkhamer, 26, was taken to Berkeley Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. MPD Detectives are investigating and have determined Mr. Barkhamer is a resident of South Raleigh Street and was shot during an attempted home invasion by an unknown suspect. Man found guilty of strangling woman to death
in Midtown hotel

Brooklyn man was found guilty Wednesday of murdering a 43-year-old
woman in a Midtown hotel. It took a jury just four hours to convict
Joseph Danclair, 40, of strangling Antoinette
Marin, 43, in the Broadway Hotel, the Manhattan district
attorney’s office said. “Ms. Marin suffered a brutal, agonizing
death the hands of this defendant, and because of his violent
conduct, this mother of four was stolen from her children and loved
ones,” DA Cy Vance Jr. said in a statement. Her nude body was
discovered face-down on a bed in the disheveled room Sept. 8,
2015, officials said. Danclair was already serving 25 years to life
for murdering Chrissy Bevelaqua,
35, in an East Williamsburg hotel less than two months earlier.
Danclair is a suspect in two unsolved rapes, authorities said.

Madisonville Police say they received a call Monday night around 10:30 from Sugg Street, where a man said his fiance had been shot. Police found Ashley Egan lying unresponsive on the living room floor of a home. Egan was taken to a hospital where she later died. According to police, Dominick Alexander Yarbrough was also injured in the incident, and was taken to the hospital. Yarbrough, the fiance of Egan, was shot in the leg. Police say an argument inside the mobile home led to the shooting, but they don't know what led to the argument. Police have released that a handgun was involved. A neighbor living at a nearby trailer tells Eyewitness News he heard a gunshot Monday night. Foster is charged with Robbery and Murder. Police arrest (black) man they say kidnapped, raped, shot woman
Tuesday morning BEAUMONT,
Texas — A Southeast Texas man is in custody after allegedly
kidnapping a woman, raping her and then shooting her in the
hand. She managed to escape and police were called Tuesday
morning.Morris Joseph Broussard, 48, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping according to a Beaumont Police spokesperson. Police were called to a reported shooting in the 2500 block of Milam Street at about 9:30 a.m. When officers arrived they could not find the victim but took Broussard into custody. Shortly after, police received a call that a woman showed up at Baptist Hospital less than a half-mile away, suffering from a gunshot wound according to police. Police tell us the woman was sexually assaulted multiple times and shot around 3 a.m. Investigators say Broussard held her hostage before she managed to escape and seek help. |

holding two women against their will in his St. James Town apartment
on two separate occasions, just days apart. Toronto police say they
became aware of what was the first of two incidents on Friday
morning during a sexual assault call from a unit inside a
residential building in the area of Bleecker and Earl streets. When
officers arrived, they found a woman allegedly held against her will
and unable to leave. Wallace Walter Pleasant was located
later that day by authorities, arrested and charged with forcible
confinement and sexual assault in relation to the incident. After a
court appearance, Pleasant was released on a recognizance. Four days
later, police responded to a call for ‘unknown trouble’ at the same
address and located a woman being held against her will. Pleasant

GA (WTVM) - An Auburn man has been arrested and charged with rape.
Auburn police arrested 45-year-old Curtis D. Yancey Tuesday,
Feb. 5 on a felony Lee County Grand Jury indictment charging him
with first-degree rape.Yancey’s arrest stems from an investigation of a reported sexual assault that happened at a North Donahue Drive residence in 2016. According to police, a 23-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted while she was incapacitated. Yancey was an acquaintance of the female and developed as a suspect. Police say Yancey was positively identified as the person responsible for the sexual assault though DNA evidence. The case was presented to a Lee County Grand Jury in October 2018 and an indictment was issued afterwards. Yancey is being held on the Lee County Jail on a $100,000 bond. |

Florida man was arrested this week for allegedly having sex with a
disabled woman at a group home, leading to her giving birth.
Willie Fred Shorter, 58, faces charges of lewd and lascivious
battery on a disabled adult, a felony offense, according to jail
records in Brevard County on the state's east coast. He was released
on bond Thursday. The woman, whose identity was withheld by
authorities, was living at a group home in Rockledge where Shorter
was a caregiver, a police report from Rockledge stated. The woman
has a diminished mental capacity and is unable to consent to sexual
activities as a result, according to police. |

Wawa in Cherry Hill. Two young women are accused of beating up

felony arrest warrant for animal cruelty Tuesday on Shane

Pit Bulls to starve to death while in his care and control. On
January 9, 2019, the two dead dogs were found after they had been

information that the shooting suspect barricaded himself within his

contact with the suspect, the SWAT team entered the condo, where
they found Horlbeck and Chokey. Based on the still ongoing
investigation, this appears to be a murder-suicide carried out by
Horlbeck. Horlbeck has been in trouble with the law and the
condo association in the past. He was arrested by Jupiter police on Dec. 28, 2017 when he reportedly pulled a man out of his car in the Villas on the Green community, then started punching and kicking him, according to an arrest report. The victim told police that Horlbeck approached him, asked him some bizarre questions, then spit on his face. Witnesses said they told Horlbeck repeatedly to stop and when he did, he got into his car and drove to his condo. Horlbreck also threatened the mayor of Jupiter in a Facebook post. At 12:03 a.m. on Monday, police received a 911 call about a shooting in the 100 block of Myrtle Place (Robynwyn). Court records state that the suspects gained entry through the back door of the home, and that a dog was shot as soon as the suspects got inside. The dog died shortly after. An affidavit states that as the suspects were ransacking the house, the victim was shot multiple times in the chest which resulted in his death. A neighbor called 911 and told emergency dispatchers that two people and a dog were shot by four people who had just fled the scene. students, parents say  LAS
VEGAS (KSNV) — A student at Centennial High says a schoolhouse gang
forced him to fight on camera, not once or twice, but three times."The kid throws my son on the floor and is stomping him all in the head," said Sherry, the mother of one victim who did not want to be fully identified. Sherry says the school suspended her 16-year-old son last week for a fight in the bathroom, but after looking into it she learned that the entire week he was being targeted by a gang of 15-20 black male students. "His good friend told me they target white kids only because they fell that they're weak," Sherry said. Her son who doesn’t want to be identified says, "They haven't fought anybody that's not white. They haven't fought any African Americans or Mexicans. It's all been white people." CCSD police say they've issued criminal citations to several of the students involved, meaning those students will have to appear in juvenile court. near Oklahoma City library OKLAHOMA
CITY – Residents near an Oklahoma City library were shocked by what
they saw on Saturday evening. Around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 2, Oklahoma
City police received 911 calls regarding a woman near Ralph Ellison
Public Library. According to the arrest affidavit, the callers told
dispatchers that a woman was standing near N.E. 23rd St. with
her pants around her ankles and was exposing herself to
passing vehicles. Officials say that is a particularly busy time in
the area, adding that many minors, families and pedestrians walk by
the library. When officers arrived at the scene, they spotted
42-year-old Danielle Williams “with her pants around her
knees,” exposing herself to drivers and pedestrians. At the time,
investigators say Williams was “yelling random things and not
making any sense.” Williams was arrested on a complaint of
public indecency. |

Salina Denny's Town
of Salina, N.Y. — The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office has arrested
the man they say shot three people
inside the Salina Denny's early Sunday morning. Justus Holmes,
24, from Syracuse is charged with attempted murder, assault,
menacing and criminal use of a firearm. Around 4:00 a.m.
Sunday, investigators say Holmes went into the Denny's and began
accosting another man, before shooting him. Deputies say he then
opened fire on customers and employees injuring two customers,
before running from the restaurant. Two of the shooting victims were
taken to Upstate University Hospital and are expected to survive. A
third victim was taken to Upstate for a non-shooting injury and a
fourth person was treated at the scene for a minor arm injury.
Detectives say the motive appears to be a domestic dispute.
They say he had been arguing with his
ex-girlfriend who was among the group of people at
Denny's. |

Wis. - A Lyft driver was arrested early Sunday morning after asking
to use one of his riders’ bathrooms and then sexually assaulting
her, according to a release from Madison police. The 25-year-old
woman got a ride to her Langdon Street residence just before 2 a.m.
Saturday, officials said. The Lyft driver, 28-year-old Hassen
A. Ahmed, got into her apartment by claiming he needed
to use the bathroom, according to the release. Following the
assault, the woman called police and provided information that led
to Ahmed being arrested after a traffic stop, officials said. |

Registered sex offender caught with missing 14-year-old girl   A
registered sex offender was arrested Saturday after an eagle-eyed
good Samaritan spotted him in the subway with a missing 14-year-old
girl, police said. Anthony Ferdinand, 35, was
on a downtown Q train in Herald Square station Saturday morning with
the girl when a bystander recognized her from news reports and
called the cops, officials said. The train conductor held the train
in the station until the police arrived. Ferdinand was arrested for
rape in 2003 and released on parole in November 2004, according to
the department of corrections. His victim at the time was a
19-year-old woman, according to his entry in the New York State sex
offender database. Ferdinand has been charged with rape, criminal
sex act, acting in a manner injurious to a child, and sexual abuse.
The girl ran away from her Wakefield home Friday morning after her
mother caught her sexting with a grown man, according to
police sources. |

VEGAS (KSNV) — On Tuesday morning, The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police
Department released an arrest report detailing the alleged acts of Antwon
Perkins. Perkins, 35, is a former corrections officer who is
accused of sexually assaulting a
12-year-old girl. According to the report, the young
victim told police that Perkins told her to not say anything about
the assault or he would shoot her and kill her parents. The
report states Perkins kidnapped the victim last Thursday as she was
walking to Cadwallader Middle School. |

Man accused of impregnating, attacking teen arrested again after
dating app set up MEMPHIS,
Tenn. — A man accused of impregnating and attacking a
15-year-old girl just two months ago was arrested
again over the weekend after a vicious attack on a man in
Whitehaven. The victim in the latest case told police he had been
chatting with a woman on a dating app called Meet Me when she asked
to meet him at the Travel Lodge in the 1400 block of East Brooks. As
he was sitting in the room, two men police identified as Marquett
Morton and Decarlos Jones entered, armed with a revolver-style
BB gun, and demanded the man hand over his belongings.The man said he ran from the hotel room with the other two men in hot pursuit. They eventually caught up with him and Jones reportedly struck him repeatedly in the head. Again, he demanded everything the victim had. Somehow the man was able to get away and call police. Authorities said Nicole Bell was in on the setup, giving the suspects the key needed to get into the hotel room. It’s unclear if she was the woman the victim had been speaking with online. All three suspects were eventually taken into custody and charged. But this isn’t the first time Morton has been in trouble with the law. (see below) |

attacked a pregnant 15-year-old.The teen called police on Saturday saying that her boyfriend Marquett Morton had strangled her to the point that she passed out following an argument. He also punched and slapped her repeatedly, and even punched her in the stomach, she said. While investigating the incident, officers said they learned the 15-year-old is pregnant with the defendant’s child. She was also reported as a runaway. Manhattan pastor arrested in alleged grope of teen  A
Manhattan pastor was arrested over the weekend, accused of groping a
teen parishioner, according to prosecutors.The Rev. Jeffrey Brown, wearing a white suit with matching shoes, faced a judge Monday in Manhattan Criminal Court, where he was arraigned on misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child, forcible touching and sex abuse. Brown, 57, allegedly grabbed the 14-year-old girl’s buttocks Saturday while she was helping him inside the Harlem church’s copy room, officials said. He was arrested the next day at the Tabernacle of Deliverance for All People on Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 153rd Street. Two different congregations hold services there, and the young girl is a member of the parish headed by another pastor, according to prosecutors. When the girl’s mom confronted him, Brown allegedly replied, “I told her, I don’t recall touching her but if I touched her, I apologize,” according to police. |

Lauderhill police say Darrien Green was involved in a

One of the women used her phone to take a picture of him, but he snatched the phone away from her. The woman says that when her dog started barking, Green fatally struck the dog and ran away. (Black) Man arrested in vicious New Year’s Day assault of (white
social activist) Toronto lawyer at Bathurst and Queen  Police
have arrested one man and are seeking another suspect following a
vicious New Year’s Day assault in downtown Toronto that put a lawyer
in a coma. At roughly 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1, David
Shellnutt and a woman were walking near Queen St. W.
and Bathurst St. when a group of men in a passing car
allegedly made a “lewd remark” at
the female, police said. Shellnutt threw a bag of garbage at
the car in response and two men got out of the vehicle to confront
him. Surveillance video showed one of the suspects punching
Shellnutt, knocking him unconscious. The other suspect then punched
Shellnutt while he was down on the ground. The two men then fled in
the vehicle. Shellnutt was initially in a coma, and in
critical condition but is recovering and walking and talking, police

the first theft, Mamoudou Camara allegedly
stole a bus with two other people from a bus depot at Williams Place
and Herkimer Street in Cypress Hills just after midnight Dec. 23.
Later that day, he is accused of hopping on another unoccupied MTA
bus that was parked at 925 Hunts Point Ave. in the Woodstock area of
the Bronx at about 7:30 p.m. with three other men and two women and
driving it around for several hours. On Jan. 15, Camara
allegedly boarded a parked bus by South Road and 165th Street in
Jamaica and drove it for just under two hours, dropping it off in
Cypress Hills. And on Jan. 27, he allegedly stole a fourth bus
parked by the corner of 12755 Flatlands Ave. in East New York.
Police said the bus was later found in the Woodstock area of the
Bronx. |

A Long Island dad landed in jail Saturday after drunkenly crashing
his car with his 11-year-old son onboard, Suffolk County Police
announced.Zahirul Islam, 54, was driving a 2001 Nissan Altima east on Express Drive South near Old Medford Avenue in Medford shortly after 8 p.m. when he crashed into a 2016 Lexus that was also traveling east, officials said. The Bellport resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, endangering the welfare of a child, and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15-years-old or younger, cops said. That last charge is a felony also known as Leandra’s Law, after 11-year-old Leandra Rosado, who was killed while riding as a passenger with a drunk driver in a 2009 crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway. (Nov 30, 2018) – Pittsburgh Police say
Lamont Fulton has been taken into custody. He turned himself
into investigators on Friday. The other suspect, Marty Armstrong
Jr., was already in jail.PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburg Police have filed homicide charges against two men in connection with a 2003 robbery and)shooting in the Smithfield Street Garage. Marty Armstrong Jr. and Lamont Fulton are now facing criminal homicide charges in the case following 66-year-old Michael Lahoff’s death earlier this week. he shooting happened in the downtown parking garage in January 2003. According to police, Lahoff was walking to his car when he was shot in the back. Police believe one of the two men arrested was trying to rob Lahoff. The shooting left Lahoff paralyzed. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office said he died due to the injuries he sustained in the shooting. Both Armstrong and Fulton were charged and convicted in the shooting. Fulton was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison and is no longer in the system. Armstrong, who is believed to have pulled the trigger, was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison. He remains in jail. Warrants have been issued for both with the filing of the criminal homicide charges. - (Black-on-white) |

Murder suspect arrested after he tried to run and hide from
police  INDIANAPOLIS,
Ind. – A murder suspect is in custody after police say he was
involved in a police chase Thursday morning. Officers caught the suspect--identified as 26-year-old Derrick Warner--around 9:35 a.m. Warner was wanted in a murder case. Investigators believe Warner shot and killed Richard Pettry Junior on Jan. 12. The dispute between Pettry and Warner appears to have started in December when Pettry was called to help a family member who has a drug problem and claimed she was trapped inside a house. When Pettry went to help that family member, he was allegedly confronted by a man with a gun. According to court records, several witnesses identified Warner as the shooter during the murder a couple of weeks later. - (Black-on-white) |

Man accused of fatal shooting in Old West End appears in court   The
man accused of shooting and killing another man in the Old West End
near the Toledo Museum of Art appeared in court Friday, where his
bond was set at $1 million.Jaquan Sturdevant, 21, was arrested Thursday after police located him in an apartment in the 1900 block of Scottwood Avenue. Mr. Sturdevant appeared Friday morning in Toledo Municipal Court and was charged with murder. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1, and his bond was set at $1 million. Mr. Sturdevant’s court appearance comes after police identified the shooting victim as Zachary Duprey, 26. The shooting was reported at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Monroe Street. Mr. Duprey was found behind the Toledo Museum of Art, according to the Toledo Fire Department. Mr. Duprey suffered at least one gunshot wound and was transported to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where he later died. The death was ruled as a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the neck, according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office. - (Black-on-white) |
