Husband of accused (white female) child killer appears in Denver
court   DENVER
— The husband of a woman accused of killing her 7-year-old son
appeared in court in Denver Friday. Leland Kyle Pankey, 39,
is charged with second-degree assault in a November 2017 incident.Pankey is the husband of 43-year-old Elisha Pankey, who was arrested in connection to her child’s death on Wednesday. Her son, 7-year-old Caden McWilliams, was found dead in a storage unit near Interstate 25 and Evans Avenue in southeast Denver just before Christmas. The Denver Police Department estimated he died in late May 2018. According to an arrest affidavit, Leland Pankey was taken into custody Dec. 21, 2018 on a warrant that was issued Nov. 28, 2017. — A man with ties to the Region who was suspected of murdering a
Texan woman on New Year's Eve 2017 was captured by U.S. marshals on
Tuesday in Gary's Horace Mann section.The U.S. Marshals' Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, assisted by the Lake County Sheriff's Warrants Division, took Dwight Patrick Scott, 52, into custody about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. Mark Gregoline, inspector with the U.S. Marshals' Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, said authorities have been on the hunt for Scott since January 2018. That's when the Gary Police Department was contacted by Texas authorities about the possible whereabouts of Scott. (CBSMiami) – The family of a teenage girl who was allegedly sexually
assaulted by a former Brownsville Middle School teacher has filed a
lawsuit against the Miami-Dade County School Board for, amongst
other things, failure to protect the safety of minors who attend
their schools.The lawsuit claims former Brownsville Middle School physical education teacher Wendell Nibbs sexually harassed, assaulted and raped the victim, referred to as “Jane Doe,” staring in her 6th grade school year and continuing through the end of her 8th grade on school premises. “We see Nibbs as a predator who used Brownsville Middle School as his hunting ground,” said attorney Aaron Karger. The suit also claims Nibbs, a married father of two, sent the victim sexually explicit photographs of himself. |

Police arrest Brampton LGBTQ? woman wanted on sex assault,
confinement charges  A
Brampton woman wanted on charges of sexual assault, forcible
confinement and assault has been arrested, Peel Region police say.
Latisha Edwards, 24, who was wanted in a Dec. 3 incident, was
arrested Jan. 4. Police had issued an alert on Jan. 2 in their
search for her. Police said someone reported being held
involuntarily and forced to perform sexual acts for several hours
inside a Brampton home in the area of Dixie Rd. and Queen St. E. No
physical injuries were reported, but the individual was left
traumatized, police said. Police did not
reveal the gender of the victim, explaining it could identify

Man gets 17 year prison sentence for sex crimes involving
children ROWAN
COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Diamonte Denolan Crawford of East
Spencer was convicted this week in Rowan County Criminal Superior
Court of felony attempted statutory sex offense with a child and
felony indecent liberties with a child. Judge Anna Mills Wagoner
sentenced Crawford to a minimum of 124 months to a maximum of 209
months in prison. Crawford was ordered to register as a sex offender
for 30 years and have no contact with the victim. In 2018, the
child victim, who was 13 years of age at the time,
reported to school personnel that a family member, later identified
as Crawford, who was 22 years of age, were at another family
members’ home when a sexual incident occurred. |

Man abandons beaten dog, Humane Rescue Alliance offering $5,000
reward for his arrest  WASHINGTON
(ABC7) — She is bandaged and battered, and her eyes tell a story of
pain. However, the story of an abused dog has gaps that
investigators with the Humane Rescue Alliance need to fill. On
Friday, January 4, a humane officer was called out to Skip's Liquor
and Laundromat on 61st Street SE for an injured, abandoned dog. Surveilance video shows the man unload the dog from his car. Then, he comes back and hits her in the face, possibly with an object. Then, you see him drag her out from under his vehicle, and moments later he drives off without her. The dog has deep wounds on her legs that show she's suffered extraordinary pain. This could mean animal cruelty charges for the man in the video. |

Harris County, police say  The
man accused of fatally stabbing his supervisor and critically
injuring another worker in Waller County on Wednesday was taken into
custody after a 15-minutes standoff today, authorities say.Evan Lyndell Parker, 34, is accused of killing 64-year-old Harry Parnell and critically injuring 36-year-old Jose Rangel. They all worked at a manufacturing business, Orizon Industries, according to the Waller County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the stabbings, Waller County Sheriff Glenn Smith said, adding that investigators had just started to interview him on Thursday afternoon. Smith said multiple people witnessed Parker stab both men around 7:50 p.m. Wednesday at the Orizon Industries building on FM 362 and Wilson Road, north of Brookshire. CITY — A Jefferson City suspect has been charged with Second-Degree
Murder and Assault in the death of one man and serious wounding of
another on December 12 near Atchison Street and Broadway. The victim
who survived told police that he and his friend, 33-year-old Justin
Kammerich, were standing outside their apartments when they
were approached by a man with a Glock pistol with an extended
magazine who tried to rob them. Before they could turn over their
belongings, the shooter, 16-year-old Jahaun Whirley, shot
them both multiple times before running away. |

Pa. -- A woman wanted for a deadly stabbing in Williamsport was
brought back to Lycoming County to face charges.U.S. Marshals arrested Monica Burns, 30, of Williamsport, Wednesday morning in Philadelphia. Authorities issued a warrant for Burns several days ago. Burns was arraigned at a magistrate's office in Loyalsock Township Wednesday evening on charges including criminal homicide. Burns is accused of fatally stabbing Ryan Jones, 28, of Williamsport, earlier this month. officers track down a man who pushed over and seriously injured a
woman during an alleged robbery Monday afternoon.About 1:15 p.m., 87-year-old Pat Scott was knocked to the ground by a man who was taking her purse. Surveillance cameras from a Dollar Tree captured Scott being knocked down outside the store. She was taken to a local hospital, where she is currently recovering in the intensive care unit. Scott's family says she has broken bones and head trauma. They described her as “87-years-young;" she still drives and had a paper route until last year. “Tiny, tiny lady,” her son John Scott said. “90 pounds, if that.” Her family says Pat fought back against the alleged robber. “He approached her and threw her to the ground and probably hit her, judging by her face,” John said. According to her family, Pat suffered a broken elbow, broken ribs, bleeding in her brain and lots of scratches, bumps and bruises. Pat’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to help her pay for the unexpected bills following the attack. Police described the suspect as a black male in his early 20s. He has a thin build and is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black-and-white Raiders jacket and green pants. |

‘Hero’ CHICAGO
(CBS)– Residents are praising the 25 year-old woman, with a
concealed carry license, who shot and killed a man who was trying to
rob her at a bus stop. Surveillance video shows the woman waiting
alone at a bus stop at 103rd and Wallace around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say a 19-year-old man, in a light colored hoodie, pulled a
gun on the woman in an attempt to rob her. She pulled out her own
gun and shot him in the neck.Officials say the man then took her gun and ran. Police found the man, near the tracks on the 400 block of W. 103rd. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. |

Hyatt Place hotel clerk sexually assaulted during robbery; two

men were arrested Tuesday after allegedly robbing a Brentwood hotel
and sexually assaulting an employee, Nashville police said. Louis Steele, 25, and Tony Gooch, 26, face aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges. Steele faces an additional aggravated rape charge. Police say the two men entered the Hyatt Place Hotel on Summit View Drive just after 3 p.m. and demanded money from the register. They wore black clothing and their faces were covered. After the victims complied with the money demand, police say one of the suspects held a female hotel clerk at gunpoint while the other suspect sexually assaulted another clerk. Police identified the clerk as a 37-year-old woman. |

robbery in southern York County    Pennsylvania
State Police arrested 18-year-old Tysheem Santiago on
homicide and robbery charges in connection with the death of Stefan
Simmons, according to a news release. Santiago
was found hiding at a residence on the 700 block of Susquehanna
Avenue in York at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police had been searching the
residence on a warrant. Anthony Holley Jr., an 18-year-old
at the scene during the time of the search, was also arrested and
charged with a felony offense for hindering apprehension and

handcuffed parolee escaped from his parole officer in Queens — and
remained on the loose Wednesday, police said. Dwight Dobson, 27,
was in custody for a parole violation around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when
he somehow slipped away from a parole office on Merrick Boulevard in
Jamaica, police said. Dobson had previously served three years at
Edgecombe Correctional Facility for criminal possession of a weapon,
according to a NYS Department of Corrections spokesman. He was
conditionally released in December 2015 but was back behind bars in
March last year. He was cut loose again in May. On Tuesday, Dobson
fled from the parole office during a scheduled visit, when
authorities determined he “may have violated his parole” and tried
taking him into custody, according to spokesman Thomas Mailey. |

aggravated residential burglary and battery of a
74-year-old veteran. On Jan. 8, Hot Springs Police arrested De'Andre Trevon Woods, 20, of Hot Springs. Officers responded to the 900 block of Park Avenue on December 11, 2018, in regards to an aggravated residential burglary and battery. The victim, Jack Milton, told officers that pack of three black male jackals had forced entry and struck him several times with tire irons and blunt wood objects. The suspects stole his wallet that contained personal documents, debit card and cash. Woods faces multiple charges: aggravated residential burglary, aggravated robbery, 2nd degree battery, and theft of property. He is currently being held at the Garland County Detention Center on no bond. The case is still under investigation. victim.Police said Cobb was driving a stolen car when he crashed into another driver. As the driver of the other vehicle, a 68-year-old woman, waited for officers to arrive. Cobb allegedly walked up to her car and demanded to get inside. When she said no, he turned violent. According to police the man reported the women did perform some sexual services but failed to meet his “expectations.” Police had to inform the man he had not been robbed. Kelley, a business lawyer who lives in East Flatbush, was busted for the crimes Friday after an investigation by the NYPD’s special victims unit. Pa. (CBS) — A police chief has harsh words for a school principal
after an armed man is allowed to enter a Delaware County elementary
school on Friday. Darby Borough Police say 21-year-old Nazher
Sabree, of Philadelphia, was arrested after a violent struggle
after he was allowed entrance into Park Lane Elementary School by
someone who works at the school.Police say Sabree was walking around the school without a shirt around 9 a.m. A school employee recognized the 21-year-old as a former student and let him into the building. |

Homicide suspect arrested after hours-long standoff  A
Brooklyn man wanted on federal murder charges in connection with a
2017 homicide in Queens was arrested early Friday after a lengthy
standoff with cops and the FBI, according to officials. The FBI,
along with NYPD detectives, went to 292 Maple St. in
Prospect-Lefferts Gardens around 5:30 a.m. to arrest Wilbert
Bryant, 54, who barricaded himself inside his third-floor
apartment, law enforcement officials told the Post.Shots were fired from inside the apartment, police said. An FBI agent fired two shots during the confrontation, a law enforcement source told The Post. It was not immediately clear if anyone was hit. “He was not struck,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said about the suspect. |

dancing, screaming and strutting his stuff to a group of shocked
onlookers, witnesses said. “He was dancing, he took his clothes

Azizi. “He was not in his [right] mind, it was an unbelievable

Delaware Man Charged With Child Abuse In Death Of 1-Year-Old  DOVER,
Del. (CBS) — A Dover man has been charged in the
death of a 1-year-old. The child had suffered
multiple serious injuries to the head, torso and internally, police
say. On Jan. 2, the Dover Police Department responded to an
apartment on the 800 block of Woodcrest Drive for a call of a child
not breathing. The baby, Miles
Duncan, was transported to A.I. DuPont Children’s
Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police took Edjuan
Blackshear, 28, into custody. Blackshear was responsible for
the child’s care at the time of the incident. |

charged with sexually assaulting 99-year-old woman in SF’s
Chinatown  A
man captured after a New Year’s Eve sex assault in San Francisco’s
Chinatown had attacked a 99-year-old
woman in her apartment at the Ping Yuen
housing project, officials said Wednesday. The suspect, identified
by police as 26-year-old Teandre Howard-Kidd, was charged on
Wednesday with sexual assault, residential burglary and elder
abuse. He is scheduled for arraignment in San Francisco
Superior Court on Thursday.The attack happened around 12:35 p.m. at the storied public housing development on the 800 block of Pacific Avenue known to locals as the Pings, police said. Staff members quickly provided police with surveillance footage of the suspect from one of the many security cameras in the building. San Francisco police officials on Tuesday circulated pictures of the suspect, who was seen wearing a blue vest with black and white striped pants, and officers out of Tenderloin Station arrested him later that day. The victim, a grandmother, told Fong she hopes she never sees her assailant again. |

Soliz. The onetime professional ballet dancer had become
estranged from her family. At times she would sleep in city parks
before she eventually found a place at a single-room occupancy hotel
in San Francisco’s Tenderloin.Wanting to leave her troubled life behind, she packed up her things at the Arlington Residences on Ellis Street and was set to move to Florida to live with her family. But tragedy struck around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday when Soliz, 61, walked outside her apartment and witnessed an attack that ended in her own murder, authorities and family members said. Soliz’s death marks the first killing of the year in San Francisco. “It just seems so bizarre,” Soliz’s ex-husband, Jack Schwindler, said in an emotional interview with The Chronicle on Thursday. “She was packed and ready to go and change her life, and she ran into this.” Soliz that morning had witnessed a (black) man beating a woman on the sidewalk outside her building at 480 Ellis St. and immediately called 911, Schwindler said. After calling the cops, Soliz made a bold decision and followed the assailant, recording him on her cell phone as he walked to his car. But the man apparently saw he was being followed and turned on Soliz, fatally stabbing her in the head, She died soon after being rushed to San Francisco General Hospital. Police arrested 49-year-old Arthur Finch sometime after the killing. He was booked in San Francisco Jail late Wednesday and was later charged with murder, attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence and other charges. |

for robbery spook who escaped police precinct out window in
Brooklyn  CONEY
ISLAND, Brooklyn (WABC) -- The search continues Friday morning for
the prisoner who escaped police custody in Brooklyn. The suspect,
36-year-old Isiah McGill, was being questioned around 4 p.m.
Thursday at the 60th Precinct in Coney Island in regard to a
robbery. During the course of the investigation, police say he
escaped out a second-story window. He was last seen running
northbound on West 12th Street. Police believe he may have entered
the Luna Houses, which is across the street, but there was no sign
of him. A search by NYPD helicopters also turned up empty. Police
describe him as a black male, 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds, with
black hair. He was last seen wearing a red pants and a red
sweatshirt with "GOAT" and "23" on the back. |

attempting to sexually assault a United States Postal Service worker

say.Police say the incident happened on the 6900 block of Old York Road, early Wednesday afternoon. Authorities arrested 38-year-old Ariel Hernandez following the incident. Hernandez has been charged with attempt to commit rape, indecent assault and other related offenses. |

A New Jersey tennis instructor with a lengthy rap sheet has been
indicted on a slew of new charges — including kidnapping and sexual
assault involving a student and
other local kids, prosecutors said.Terry Y. Kuo, 26, of Colts Neck, was charged with three counts of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of second-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault, among other charges in a 47-count superseding indictment filed on Dec. 21, prosecutors said in a statement released Wednesday. The victim in the alleged kidnapping was an underage girl who Kuo had instructed. One of his 13-year-old tennis students alleged various instances of sexual misconduct by Kuo. |
