N.Y. (WKBW) — The Hamilton Ontario Police Department are seeking
help in identifying a murder suspect.The Department reached out to Buffalo Police to share photos of the male in question. According to Hamilton Police, the male shot and killed Cece Luppino on January 30. The CBC reports Luppino's father, Rocco, was convicted of extortion-related offenses in 1979. The CBC cited court documents filed by the RCMP, which show the family is connected to a web of organized crime stretching from Hamilton to Buffalo. The CBC also reports the younger Luppino did not have a criminal record, and was not known to police. The images shared by police come from security footage from the victim's home as well as the neighboring property. The suspect is described as male, black, average or athletic build, wearing a black waist-length winter coat black pants, black boots, and grey shirt. - (Black-on-white) |

our newest Detroit's Most Wanted was already in custody.The U.S. Marshals say Dominique Amos may be the most heartless fugitive we’ve ever searched for – his actions right here last month, changing a 12 -year-old boys life forever. He's now in custody in Peoria, Illinois. Racheal Castle saw the flashing lights in front of her window as life as she knew it, and her son as she knew him, quickly slipped away. "So I went running down there and Christian was already gone so they made me identify if it was possible him by his shoe laying in the middle of the road," she said. Christian Castle was riding his bike just outside his home when police say 26-year-old Amos slammed into him with his van. "This is an innocent 12 year old child, this kids joy riding his bike on a January day, not a care in the world and then he’s struck by this person," U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia said. "He shakes his wheel to detach himself from the child and the bike which fall off down the block. The bike is discovered down the block there, that’s where it fell off." Police say Christian and his bike got lodged into the hood of the van on impact, and Amos did the unthinkable, shaking his wheel and swerving to throw the child off the van and into the road. Christian was in a coma for three weeks and his family says it is still too soon to tell just how severe and permanent the physical and cognitive injuries will be. "It’s extremely unfair and it’s hard like what I see everyday in the same area where this accident happened – it’s hard looking out the window everyday to look at the accident and see it from out my window, its horrible," Christian's aunt, Laura Coburn, said. -- A 23-year-old employee at Great Wolf Lodge allegedly raped a
17-year-old female colleague at the hotel Tuesday,
according to court documents.Darren Ngabe, of 83 Crestview Lane, allegedly had sex with the victim against her will and inappropriately touched her in his hotel room, court records state. He was charged with rape and indecent assault and battery on a person who is 14 or older. The victim told police that Ngabe invited her to the room and that she told him she didn't want to have sex before the alleged assault, documents say. His refusal to stop advances, physical size, and body language intimidated her, the victim told police. Afterward, the victim fled the hotel room while Ngabe was taking a shower, according to court documents. SEND THEM ALL BACK! (KXAN) — A man was arrested in connection with the 2018 stabbing and
sexual assault of a woman in north Austin after the Travis County
Sheriff's Office said the man's DNA was found in the rape kit test.
A woman was walking through the Churchill Crossing apartment complex
in the early hours of June 9 when she said a man approached her and
asked for money. The TCSO says the man then pulled her to a secluded
area where he sexually assaulted her, stabbed her and stole her cell
phone before running away. A sexual assault forensic exam was
conducted and the DNA collected from the test matched with Quentin
Tremel Goffney. Investigators also say Goffney pawned some
knives several days after the sexual assault and stabbing took
place. |

Bronx teacher who was raped last April by a criminal — who had been
free after being released on bail — spoke on Wednesday about the
horrific experience and how it still haunts her. The 23-year-old
English teacher, with a quivering voice, delivered her testimony
during Lynneke Burris’ sentencing hearing in Bronx Criminal
Court. “My everyday interactions with strangers, in a city where
everyone is a stranger, are tainted with distrust, anxiety and
fear,” she said. “I am constantly looking over my shoulder,
expecting even my own shadow to attack me. I never feel safe
anymore.” Burris, of Brooklyn, was sentenced to 18 years in prison
for the April 12 attack, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark
said. |

Sam Houston State student  HUNTSVILLE,
Texas (KTRK) -- Police have arrested a suspect in the violent
robbery and sexual assault of a Sam Houston State University student
earlier this month in Huntsville. Degerrick Deon Sandles has
been charged with aggravated sexual robbery, aggravated assault and
aggravated kidnapping, which are all first degree felonies. Sandles
is also charged with forgery of a financial instrument, a third
degree felony, and possession of marijuana, a "B"misdemeanor.
Sandles allegedly forced his way into the student's off-campus
apartment on Super Bowl Sunday, held her at gunpoint, robbed her of
what money she had and then sexually assaulted her. He also forced
her to drive to several ATMs and withdraw more cash, authorities
say. |

automobile crash say that they are still trying to reconcile what
happened. College sophomore Michael
Sot died in December after he was involved in a
crash with an alleged drunk driver. And in a stroke of what some of
Sot’s friends and family say is a cruel irony, Sot was acting as a
designated driver when he died. “The irony of this whole crash, it
does eat at you. It gets to your head,” says Sot’s father Michael
Sot, Sr.It was Saturday, Dec. 1 and it was Sot’s turn to be his fraternity’s designated driver. His family says that when Sot had a job to do, and he took it very seriously. They say that he was a role model to his younger siblings. Sot was allegedly killed by 22-year-old David Lamar. Prosecutors say that Lamar’s blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit. Lamar allegedly tried to pass the cars ahead of him, drove over the double yellow line and hit Sot’s car head-on. The crash happened just after 2 p.m. Dec. 2. African-Americans, solely based on their skin color, according to a
Harris County probable cause document.Investigators said Albert Gallegos approached a 92-year-old African American man from behind on Jan. 7 at a METRO stop on Broadway at Brockton streets in southeast Houston. Gallegos is accused of attacking the man, rendering him unconscious. A witness, who wanted to keep her identity concealed, said she saw the suspect throw large rocks at the man. After attempting to conduct surveillance on the area to locate the suspect, the officer spoke with a Houston police officer who said he is "certain" the suspect is Gallegos. |

N.J. (CBS/AP) — New Jersey’s five Roman Catholic dioceses listed
more than 180 priests Wednesday who have been credibly
accused of sexually abusing minors over a span of several
decades, joining more than two dozen other states that have named
suspected abusers in the wake of a landmark
grand jury report in Pennsylvania last year. The lists
released Wednesday identified priests and deacons who served in the
dioceses of Camden, Trenton, Metuchen and Paterson and the
archdiocese of Newark. Many priests on the lists are deceased, and
others have been removed from ministry. |

sheriff day before he died, police say   Three
days after a car crash severely injured 11-year-old
Ethan Frank Rubenzer, the boy died from his injuries
in the hospital, the coroner said. Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck
Wright went to the hospital to see Ethan before he died, according
to WYFF. “He said he wanted to work for me one day. I wanted to make
sure I didn’t lose that opportunity to deputize a great, brave young
man,” the sheriff told the station. “I put a challenge coin in his
hand and I gave him a little small badge and I told the staff up
there to please refer to him as Deputy Ethan Rubenzer and they did,”
Wright told WYFF. Wright deputized Ethan Saturday night, the
Spartanburg Herald-Journal reports. Ethan died the next day.
Ethan would have turned 12 on Friday, according to High Point
Academy, where he was a sixth grader.The Highway Patrol said 29-year-old Michael Eugene Kelley II crashed into the car Ethan and his mother were in at 7:15 a.m. Friday, WSPA reports. Kelly was originally charged with three counts related to driving under the influence, but the charges “have been upgraded to two counts of felony DUI resulting in great injury and one count of felony DUI resulting in death,” according to Fox Carolina. Ill. – The wife of the man killed in an attempted carjacking Tuesday
night described her husband as the ‘sweetest and kindest’ man. Gregory
Price, a 67-year-old man from Florissant, Missouri
was an innocent bystander who happened to be driving in the other
direction when Leslie K. Austin tried to carjack him on
Route 140 at Shoal Creek. Austin was trying to get away from police
after he kidnapped his girlfriend
and her daughter. He didn’t end up getting away with
the vehicle. Price didn't fight back while being carjacked, Austin continued trying to get away from police in his own vehicle with four flat tires. The slow-speed chase at this point was down to about 10 mph. A little after 11 p.m., Austin turned down a dead-end street, got of the car and shot at officers, who fired back. Police K9s searched for the suspect, and officers found him dead. suspect in a rape that occurred last September in the La Sierra
neighborhood, Riverside police said in a news release.Officials subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for the allegations of rape, kidnapping and assault, and discovered Romero already had an outstanding arrest warrant for violating the terms of his parole. security guard at Evanston Township High School has been charged
with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old student. Police said they
were contacted by school staff on January 9 with the allegation that
a member of the security department had an improper relationship

after police say he forced his way into a woman's car, kidnapped her
and raped her. According to an arrest report, police say 25-year-old
Jordan Cissell pulled a gun and forced his way into the
woman's car while she was in it. He then forced her to drive away.
While inside the car, he allegedly sodomized her and raped her. He

prison sentence to a man who raped two
18-year-old women and a 17-year-old girl at gunpoint
at an RTA rapid station in the middle of the day in late 2017.Deon Dre Bonner, 35, pleaded guilty in November to multiple counts of rape, aggravated robbery and other charges in the Nov. 4, 2017 attack at the rapid station at East 116th Street and Shaker Boulevard. Common Pleas Court Judge Cassandra Collier-Williams imposed consecutive sentences “to give respect to each victim,” she said. “The facts of this case are considerably disturbing to me,” Collier-Williams said. “Extremely disturbing.” He raped the victims one-at-a-time in front of their friends, while he threatened to shoot them if they brought attention. |

(black) teenager from Lockport is charged with second-degree murder
after a weekend shooting.At around 10:25 p.m., on Sunday night, deputies responded to a call of a shooting in the 100 block of East Fontinelle Street in the Rita community in Lockport. Deputies arrived on the scene and found that Alton Adams, 19, of Bayou Blue, was struck by a single round. Authorities rendered aid until EMT's arrived, but Adams was later pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said he was inside his mother's residence with six other individuals when they heard shots. At least eight rounds were fired with at least four striking the residence. One of those rounds hit Adams and resulted in his death. Sunday night and into early Monday morning, LPSO worked the scene to develop a suspect, interviewing witnesses and neighbors. Through that work, Jyairus Folse, 17, of Lockport, was identified as a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Authorities made contact with Folse on Monday and he was taken into custody. Firefighters found Mrs Peter's body heavily burned around the groin and thighs. The court heard there was evidence Mrs Peter had bitten her husband's hand and a piece of skin was retrieved from her mouth. She finally applied for a divorce in February 2010 citing her husband's adultery and stating that the relationship had broken down irretrievably. details released Tuesday suggest a man was shot and killed after
arranging to purchase a gun from someone. Authorities initially said the victim, identified as James Jake Ponder, was fatally shot Saturday night in LaGrange after offering a ride to strangers. A friend of Ponder’s told police they stopped to pick up two unknown men and as they were driving, at least one of the passengers pulled out a gun and attempted to rob Ponder, LaGrange police said. Ponder was shot, and the two men ran away, the friend told investigators. However, “the investigation revealed that the victim, Ponder, had communicated with individuals regarding the purchase of a firearm on the night of the incident, and that he was in the area of Troup Street to meet and complete the purchase when the attempted robbery and shooting occurred,” police said Tuesday in a news release. Police later identified 17-year-old Travis McFarland of LaGrange as a suspect in Ponder’s death. Man who worked at Fairfax community center accused of raping
mentally incapacitated woman FAIRFAX,
Va. (AP) — Officials say a man who worked at a Northern Virginia
community center has been accused of raping a woman who had mental
health issues. Fairfax County police say 60-year-old Bernard
Betts-King was charged with "raping a woman through the use of
her mental incapacity." A police statement says Betts-King was
working with the victim as a behavioral specialist at the MVLE
Community Center when the rape occurred in 2018. MVLE said on its
website that it helps people with disabilities find jobs or get
training, in addition to providing other social services. |

Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the rapper and two
other victims who said that the three suspects confronted them in an
alley behind the business and demanded their money and jewelry,
according to sheriff's officials. The suspects then physically
assaulted the victims, got into a vehicle and drove away, going
westbound, authorities said. Authorities had yet to release any

A repeat offender who is pictured sobbing in an old mugshot was
arrested this week for attacking his female neighbor in Harlem,
police said Tuesday. John Gomez, 22, was busted Monday
on a charge of assault in connection with the Jan. 25 beating of a
64-year-old woman who lives in the same building as
Gomez, cops said. The victim told police she was entering the
elevator inside 310 W. 143rd St., a low-income apartment building,
when she was grabbed by her coat collar and pulled out of the
elevator. Gomez then allegedly repeatedly kicked and punched the
woman about the body and face, police said. The victim,
suffered pain, swelling and a contusion to the head. |

NYPD Detective Brian Simonsen killed by "friendly"fire
during Queens robbery   RICHMOND
HILL, Queens (WABC) -- The New York Police Department and New York
City are in mourning after an NYPD detective was killed by friendly
fire during a robbery in Queens Tuesday night.Detective Brian Simonsen, 42, a 19-year veteran of the force, died from injuries suffered in the shooting. NYPD Sergeant Matthew Gorman was also struck by gunfire but is expected to survive. The incident unfolded as the officers responded to an armed robbery at a T-Mobile store around 6 p.m. near Atlantic Avenue and 121st Street in Richmond Hill. Police said the suspect, 27-year-old Christopher Ransom, was carrying a fake weapon. But multiple officers who were unaware of that fact fired multiple rounds. Earlier, 911 callers reported seeing the suspect take two employees into the back of the store at gunpoint. Friendly fire aside, Police Commissioner James O'Neill said Simonsen's death was due to the actions of the suspect, described as a career criminal. Sergeant Gorman, an 8-year veteran of the force, was shot in the thigh and his injuries are not life-threatening. A third member of service was also injured after returning fire, striking the suspect. |

murders of two aspiring rappers in South Florida whose bodies were

emergency room, according to a report.Nineteen-year-old Jamell DEMONS, whose stage name is "YNW Melly," and Cortlen Henry were taken into custody and brought back to Broward County to face premeditated murder charges in the Oct. 26 killings of 21-year-old Anthony Williams and 19-year-old Christopher Thomas, authorities said. Authorities say Demons and Henry staged the crime scene to resemble a drive-by shooting after Demons allegedly shot and killed Williams and Thomas. week after a deputy found more than two dozen dogs in his home.
According to an incident report from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office, a

800-block of Bass Road last Friday. The deputy met with homeowner Joseph

The first deputy on scene noticed the woman visibly shaken and she kept saying, "He beat me up, he beat me up."s there to make sure animals on the property were healthy. The report says the deputy saw the dogs had fresh scars on their bodies and faces consistent with fighting. Grayer was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, and 25 dogs were seized from the property, including one in such poor condition that it needed to be immediately taken to a vet. |

assault of an animal, and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The
investigation started when the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
learned that a stable owner had a horse in her barn had been
sexually assaulted. The woman’s daughter, a veterinarian, conducted
an examination of the horse and “took samples of fluid found inside
the animal.” Kenneth Duyck was identified as a suspect in the
case, and detectives found him at an area Walmart, sleeping inside
of a stolen car. Duyck agreed to a DNA sample, which was a match to
the fluid found inside the horse. |

the names of both the suspect and woman who was fatally stabbed
Saturday evening. According to a press release, police responded to
a 911 call coming from a residence at 3292 West Chester Park Drive
at approximately 6:30 p.m. The call was made by a
5-year-old who indicated a woman was hurt, the press
release stated. When officers arrived at the scene they found the
door to the trailer home was open. Inside the home they found
46-year-old Belinda Thomas
who appeared to have suffered multiple stab wounds. Officers began
life-saving efforts on Thomas but were not able to revive her.After investigation police identified the suspect as Darren Byrd, 50, and located the vehicle he was potentially driving. Officers located Byrd inside the vehicle near the area of 5400 West 2400 South, where they took him into custody for questioning. Byrd was later arrested and booked on charges of aggravated murder, child abuse, obstruction of justice, and domestic violence in the presence of a child among other charges. A relationship between Thomas and Byrd has not been established, but both of them lived in the same trailer on 3292 West Chester Park Drive, according to the press release. US Navy sailor allegedly used a Bronx park for target practice —

active duty, was nabbed around 2:30 p.m. Sunday after someone called
911 to report gunshots coming from Soundview Park. The caller
pointed out Jenkins and his friend, Cornell Morgan,

toting a case containing the M4, a rifle similar to the M16 but with

soon be able to apply for compensation from a fund representing all
five of the state's dioceses, one of the fund's administrators
announced Monday. Camille Biros, who also is overseeing similar compensation funds in Pennsylvania and New York, said New Jersey's will be different because all five of the state's dioceses will follow the same protocols. Those will be posted on a website by early next week followed by a 30-day public comment period before they are finalized. The first phase will last at least six months, Biros said, and will focus on alleged victims who have made previous claims. A second phase will focus on new claims. Five months ago, New Jersey's attorney general announced a criminal investigation into clergy sexual abuse on the heels of a grand jury investigation in Pennsylvania that found more than 1,000 children had been abused by about 300 priests over a span of decades. |

home in Palmetto on Sunday, police said. Flozell Murrell III, 41, was arrested in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend, 41-year-old Stephanie McNabb, and for shooting at and assaulting 26-year-old Thomas Bell. Palmetto police responded to a home in the 1100 block of 17th Ave. W. at about 1 a.m. following reports of a possible assault and shooting in progress. When officers arrived, police said they found McNabb semi-conscious with apparent gunshot wounds and Bell with a laceration to the head, which did not require medical attention. Police said three other adults and two children, an infant and a 2-year-old, were at the home when the shooting occurred McNabb was taken to Blake Medical Center, where she later died. Murrell is accused of forcing entry into the home and shooting McNabb. He also shot at Bell, but the 26-year-old was not hit by bullets, police said. According to police, Murrell and Bell struggled, but the suspect managed to break free and ran away from the scene. He was located hours later and taken into custody. The sheriff's office noted that Murrell and McNabb previously "had a long-standing domestic relationship," but the two "were not currently in a relationship and he did not live in the home." missing in 1986 may have been solved after detectives say they found
enough evidence to arrest the boy’s mother and charge her with her
son’s presumed death.Amy Fleming, 60, is in custody in Florida, charged with the murder of her 3-year-old son Francillon “Yo-Yo” Pierre. She is awaiting extradition to Nevada. In August 1986, Francillon went missing at the Broad Acres Swap Meet in North Las Vegas. Fleming, then known as Amy Luster, insisted the toddler had been with her one minute, but the next, he was gone. Francillon was never found. Almost right away, the boy’s mother and stepfather, Lee Luster, were suspected of foul play in the case. The two had been charged with felony child abuse in December 1985 after allegedly beating Francillon and were awaiting trial when the toddler disappeared, according to the Palm Beach Post. The Lusters expressed the belief that the boy’s biological father, Jean Pierre, had taken him to Haiti, but police ruled Pierre out as a suspect. About a year after the boy went missing, the couple moved to Florida, saying they wanted to escape the intense scrutiny the case brought. Neither of them had been formally charged, so the Nevada Department of Probation and Parole gave them a 30-day travel pass to try to find work and a home in Orlando or else return to Nevada. |

(CBS SF) — An armed man was killed late Saturday night in an
officer-involved shooting in a confrontation as he was parked in a
Vallejo Taco Bell drive-thru, authorities said. The incident began
around 10:36 p.m. in the drive-thru lane of the Taco Bell restaurant
located at 974 Admiral Callaghan Lane. Vallejo police said an
employee called 911 to report a man slumped over the driver’s seat
of a Silver Mercedes was parked in the drive thru. Officers
responded to the call in order to check on the welfare of the
driver. As the officers approached the Mercedes, they could see that
the adult male driver was unresponsive, and that he had a
handgun on his lap.The officers found that the vehicle was locked and that the Mercedes’ transmission was in drive. Police said the officers made efforts to stop any forward progress by the Mercedes as they assessed the situation and asked for additional resources. But the driver of the vehicle suddenly began to move. Police said the officers told the driver to keep his hands visible, but he allegedly reached for the handgun on his lap. Walmart thieves strike (White) pedestrian during getaway,
officers say FERNANDINA
BEACH, Fla. - A man and a woman suspected of stealing from a Walmart
took off from the store and, in the parking lot, hit
a pedestrian with their car, police said. The
suspected theft took place about 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Walmart
store. An employee attempted to stop the man, who then rammed
a cart into that employee. The employee was reportedly shaken up,
but not hurt.Police said the man then ran out of the store, almost knocking over a customer, and jumped into the Mercedes-Benz driven by the woman. A 58-year-old pedestrian witnessed the commotion as he stood in the crosswalk. The pedestrian tried to get out of the way, but the car sped toward him, striking him and cause him to fall to the ground. The 58-year-old man was taken to a hospital for treatment but was reported to be doing well. As of Monday, according to police, the 58-year-old was continuing to recover from injuries to his back, neck and legs. Police said they believe the duo got away. - (Black-on-white) |

COUNTY, Texas - Harris County investigators released a sketch in an
attempt to find the man responsible for sexually assaulting a girl
last year. On Oct. 5, 2018, officials said a man forced a
14-year-old girl into a vehicle while she was walking in the
19400 block of Wood Village Lane, in far west Harris County. The
girl told authorities the man grabbed her and forcefully threw her
in the back seat of his vehicle, which was a black, newer-model
Nissan Altima. The girl said the man drove her to the parking lot of
a hotel in Katy. The girl said the man sexually assaulted her in the
parking lot. The man is described by authorities as being black,
about 18 to 24 years old and about 6 feet tall with a slim build. He
had a medium complexion and short dreadlocks, officials
said. At the time of the crime he was wearing a long-sleeved black
shirt and blue jeans. |

daughter twice DETROIT
- A Detroit man has been charged in connection with the rape of his
girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym
Worthy said.Darrell Lee Harris, 50, is accused of sexually assaulting the girl in July and August at a home in the 5500 block of Coplin Street on Detroit's east side. Harris was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct of a person under 13 years old. He was arrested Wednesday by Detroit police, according to authorities. Police said community activist and barber shop owner Oliver Gantt heard from a friend that Harris was all over the east side while the story about Harris on Local 4 News at 6 p.m .played in the barber shop. Within minutes, Erica Underwood, the child's mother, was given the address where Harris was hiding, and he was taken into custody by 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. |

17-year-old boy accused of trying to murder his mother by hitting
her with a bat and using a Molotov cocktail to set her on fire
was charged as an adult by the Broward state attorney’s
office. Davie police say that on Jan. 22, James Edward
Monroe filled a glass bottle with alcohol, capped it with a rag
and threw it at his sleeping mother’s bedroom ceiling. The bottle
burst apart and caused glass and fire to fall on her. Harolyn
Monroe was burned and then beaten by her son, who also
tried to use a knife against her, according to a police
report. Because of the amount of blood at the scene, officers
initially thought the mother had been stabbed. She had cuts on her
hands and had grabbed a butcher knife from her son, breaking off the
blade, Davie Police Sgt. Mark Leone said. The violence happened
after the mother spoke to her son about sneaking out at night and
his use of social media, the police report said. |

Duluth man is set to appear in court Wednesday and face a murder
charge, more than two weeks after he allegedly drove his car into
the side of a Gwinnett County home, killing a woman who was inside.Ayron Poche, 24, was driving on Meadow Church Road in unincorporated Suwanee about 5 a.m. on Jan. 21, Gwinnett police said in a statement Wednesday. His Toyota Camry hit the side of a home, causing the car and building to catch fire, police said. Poche allegedly left the scene on foot, while 72-year-old Janet Keenan called 911 from inside. “Though she tried to exit the home, she eventually went unconscious,” police said. First responders took the woman to the hospital. Four days later, investigators identified Poche as the driver and arrested him, police said. He was charged with several crimes, including hit-and-run, serious injury by vehicle and reckless driving. No bond was set for Poche. (CBS) — A teenager pleaded guilty Friday in the murder of a
38-year-old father who was shot in front of his 2-year-old daughter
in 2017. Marvin Roberts, who was 16 at the time of the
shooting, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and other related
charges in the shooting death of Gerard
Grandzol.Marvin Roberts, who is now 18, was sentenced to 35 years to life in prison. Marvin’s brother, Maurice Roberts, pleaded guilty last month to third-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 to 50 years in prison. Grandzol was shot and killed during an attempted carjacking outside of his Fairmount home in September 2017. Police say Marvin and Maurice Roberts took Grandzol’s wallet and demanded his car keys. Grandzol’s young daughter was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time. Police say Marvin Roberts shot Grandzol in the head when he refused to hand the car keys over. The men from Newark broke into the Kappa Epsilon fraternity house on Martin Luther King Boulevard at 3:15 a.m. to rob students, the prosecutor’s office said. They found Micalizzi and his roommate studying in a third floor bedroom. During his plea hearing in October, Harris admitted that he pointed a revolver at Micalizzi and after they struggled, shot at him three times. Cotman said he tried to take Micalizzi’s belongings during the incident. People who knew Micalizzi, 23, of Freehold, said they weren’t surprised he fought back against the intruders. In earlier interviews, they recalled him as smiling, respectful and disciplined guy who excelled at the performing arts magnet program at Howell High School. on Thursday, charged a Berkeley County teen in connection with a
fatal shooting outside a Cordesville-area residence earlier this
week. Rayquan Glover, an 18-year-old Moncks Corner
resident, faces one count of murder in connection with the shooting.
He remained in custody at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center Thursday
night. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as
17-year-old Cordesville-resident, Alex

pending his sentencing for bribing cops wants a judge to allow
him to travel to Hong Kong for a jewelry show later this month,
according to new court documents. Jona Rechnitz —
a government cooperator who testified at two corruption trials —
is asking Manhattan federal Judge Alvin Hellerstein to allow him
to travel for nine days starting Feb. 25 “to attend an
international jewelry show” for business, lawyer Alan
Levine wrote in a letter to Hellerstein. During
testimony, Rechnitz said he currently works in real estate and
jewelry. Prosecutors agreed to the request as long as Rechnitz’s
wife turns over her passport. Last month, ex-NYPD Deputy
Inspector James Grant was acquitted of charges he took bribes
while Rechnitz pal Jeremy Reichberg was convicted
of bribing high-ranking cops for favors.

Fla. (AP) — Sportscaster Warner Wolf is facing a felony
charge after police say he damaged a sign outside his Florida
community because it included the word “Plantation,” which he
considers racist. Collier County records show the 81-year-old
Wolf surrendered Thursday on a felony criminal mischief charge
and was released. The sheriff's office says Wolf long complained
about his community's name, Classics Plantation Estates.
Deputies say surveillance video shows Wolf removing the letters
Nov. 30. They say he gave the letters to a security guard,
telling him to pass them to the property manager. Damage is
estimated at $1,100.
