(WATE) - Two Knoxville men were arrested and charged with aggravated
kidnapping and rape October 23 after they allegedly forced a woman
into an apartment and raped her. David Barbee and Torrian
Watkins confronted the victim in the 4600 block of Joe Lewis
Road. Barbee and Torrian forced the victim into the apartment,
forcefully removed the victim's clothes and raped her. Both Barbee
and Torrian were arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and
rape. |

Gunman Kills Mom, Sister Outside Allentown Apartment Complex
After Dispute, Authorities Say   A
man who authorities say shot and killed his mother and sister
following an argument at their Pennsylvania apartment has been
charged with two counts of criminal homicide. Thirty-five-year-old Zakiiy
Altariq Carson was arraigned Monday, one day after the
shooting occurred in Allentown. It wasn't immediately clear if he's
retained a lawyer. Carson is charged in the deaths of 52-year-old
Latricia Ezell and 29-year-old Ashley Campfield. The
Allentown residents were shot shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday in a rear
parking lot of the apartment building. |

tabloid newspaper in the UK, four Jaguars were arrested at 4 a.m. on
Saturday after getting in a brawl over their £50,000-plus
bar bill. The four players reportedly tried to leave
the London Reign Showclub without paying their tab and then fought
bouncers. The four men were arrested and then released after nine
hours in police custody. The club reportedly dropped their complaint

A man is in custody after shots were fired during a Halloween party
in Wilmington, Delaware. The incident occurred Sunday around 1 a.m.

were leaving venues along Trolley Square during the annual Halloween
Loop event when a suspect pulled out a gun and opened fire. NBC10
obtained viewer video of officers surrounding and apprehending a man
after the sound of gunfire was heard. Police identified Tyler

suspected of working with the Islamic State and detained by the U.S.
military for more than a year without charge. The American Civil
Liberties Union, which represented the detainee, confirmed
Monday that he is now a free man. The ACLU said that under a
confidential agreement, the U.S. government has released him to
an unidentified country. The New York Times said he was
released in Bahrain, but The Associated Press could not
independently confirm where he was released. The release of the
detainee, who once lived and
studied in Louisiana, follows months of legal
wrangling between government lawyers and the ACLU over what
the U.S. should do with suspected militants picked up on the

Over 60 in Long Beach  A
Lynwood man convicted in a string of burglaries and attacks on two
women across one week in 2017 in Long Beach was sentenced Monday to
423 years to life in state prison, officials said. A jury previously
found Melvin Earl Farmer Jr., 40, guilty of 13 felony counts
on July 20, including one count each of forcible rape, sexual
battery by restraint, dissuading a witness from reporting a crime,
assault to commit a felony during the commission of a first-degree
burglary, criminal threats, second-degree robbery and elder abuse.
He was also convicted on three counts each of first-degree
residential robbery and first-degree burglary with a person present.
Four women between the ages of 63 and 95 in a senior
housing complex reported being robbed that week.
Farmer was also convicted of beating a
90-year-old woman after she refused to
perform a sexual favor while he was burglarizing her home |

information that leads to the arrest of the man who attacked two
high school students last month at Florida International

"We're just afraid that he'll do this to someone else," James Critz's mother, Tara James, said. "It was so brutal and completely unprovoked, so I feel like he's not going to just stop at this, especially if he just gets away with it." Authorities said Critz, 16, Bela Perdomo, 15, who are students at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology at FIU, were collecting samples Sept. 10 for a science project near the school when the man approached them. After talking to them for a few minutes, the man suddenly attacked the students with a tree branch, police said. "I was walking by the bay and it was completely random," Perdomo told reporters at a news conference late last month. "James and I were on our way walking back and out of nowhere, we were both attacked." (The boy was knocked, then) the man then demanded that she remove her clothes before he attacked her. "He said, 'Don't worry. Don't worry. I'm not going to kill you. Just take off your clothes and you'll be fine. I won't kill you. Tenn. (WTVF) - A woman who survived being slashed in the neck is
urging women to get out of a relationship if it's abusive and
controlling. Dawn McKinney was
rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Tuesday night
after her black boyfriend, a convicted felon, allegedly
slashed her neck and stabbed her in the stomach.Danny Cosby (any relationship to black serial rapist Bill Cosby?) is accused of attacking her near the intersection of 6th Street and Sylvan Street in east Nashville with witnesses around. According to his affidavit, he admitted that he snapped and stated that "if he could not have the victim, nobody could." "I felt it but I didn't feel pain. I could feel him slashing me but it didn't hurt for some reason because I guess I was in shock. The next thing I knew I was waking up at the hospital," McKinney recalled. McKinney said she had her bags packed because she was leaving the relationship. She first met Cosby at Room In The Inn six months ago. She described him as charming at first but he quickly became controlling. "The real him started coming out. There was control, he wanted to know why I was leaving the house, controlling my money, telling me what to wear, and these things are just warning signs and it's not going to get better," she said. McKinney wanted to leave as soon as she learned that Cosby was released from prison in March after he served a 20-year sentence for two counts of attempted first degree murder. According to the Tennessee Department of Correction, Cosby also served time for aggravated assault charges. "That's when I decided to leave and pack up, and that's the most dangerous time is right when you're leaving. I started packing my stuff and hiding it and keeping it in the closet and I was never alone so I had to leave right in front of him," she remembered. MI -- A Saginaw man is charged in connection with the deaths of
seven puppies. According to prosecutors, 25-year-old Quintay H.
Donald in the early morning of April 16 brought seven

emergency veterinary clinic in Kochville Township. He had brought
them there after giving them deworming medication intended for
horses, prosecutors allege. Staff at the clinic provided
Donald with an action plan and he left with the puppies, prosecutors
said. Later that day, a citizen found eight of the puppies in a
ditch near the clinic, seven of
them dead and one still alive, police allege. The
living puppy received treatment, but prosecutors did know what

BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- Virginia Beach Animal Control has arrested a
Norfolk man for killing a small dog.Officers say Craig Cadore, 23, has been charged with felony animal cruelty. “That is what we are here for, to be the voice for the animals,” said Virginia Beach Animal Control Supervisor Meghan Conti. Officers say they can’t understand why anybody would hurt a dog. “We ask ourselves all the time what could cause a person to do something of this nature, but sometimes there is just not an answer,” Conti added. Officers say Cadore was dogsitting a Yorkie at his girlfriend's Virginia Beach condo. She got home from work and the dog wasn’t breathing. They rushed the Yorkie to Blue Pearl Veterinarian in Chesapeake. “The vet attempted CPR, but could not revive the dog,” Conti said. Vets called Animal Control, because something just wasn’t adding up. Officers spent the last few months investigating and a necropsy determined the dog died from blunt force trauma to the head. “We are unsure exactly what happened, but we may never know what ultimately happened to the dog,” Conti added. - (Speculation: perhaps he tried to rape it and the dog bit him in self-defense.) |

Execution
of black convicted incompetent killer in fatal Fort Worth
robbery delayed by Texas Criminal Appeals Court     The
execution of a man who robbed a Fort Worth gas station in 2010 was
delayed Friday by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Kwame
Rockwell, 42, was set to be executed Oct. 24 for the deaths of
a gas station clerk and delivery man in a Fort Worth robbery.
Rockwell and two other men robbed the store and fatally shot Daniel
Rojas and Jerry Burnett, according to court records. In 2012,
Rockwell was convicted for the murder of Rojas.On Friday, a majority of Texas Court of Criminal Appeals judges ordered Rockwell’s execution be delayed, the Texas Tribune reported. Wolkowitz’s Kia Forte. Police arrested Hubbard in Sayreville
the same day, and Wolkowitz’s Kia was also found there.Wolkowitz was hospitalized for weeks before being taken to a long-term care facility, where he stayed until his kidneys failed, friends said. Family members took turns to visit him each week until he died. Hubbard "explained that he chose him because he was a white man," Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor Keri-Leigh Schaefer said in a September court hearing. Although Hubbard had never met Wolkowitz, he wanted to kill him because of his race, she said. Of Rape After Failing To Appear At Trial BUCKS
COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) — Authorities in Bucks County are searching for a
former youth football coach accused of rape after he failed to
appear for his trial on Monday morning. The Bucks County District
Attorney’s Office says a bench warrant has been issued for
48-year-old Shannon Westmoreland, of West Chester. They say
he failed to appear for trial on rape and sex assault charges.
Westmoreland was a football coach at Bensalem Rambler’s Athletic
Association when he assaulted a
15-year-old in 2005, according to Bensalem police.
Investigators say Westmoreland also assaulted another child from
the age of 4 until she was 9 or 10 years old and a 6-year-old in
1999, and again when she was 18 in 2011. |

Moments later, there was a man standing in front of her with no
clothes. She was assaulted in the bathroom in an attack that

identity of an elderly woman who attended his church and racking up
more than $50,000 in credit card debt. Frederick Smith of New
Life Holiness Church will be in court Thursday. He's charged with
identity theft, theft of property more than $10,000 and forgery. It
all began three years ago, when the victim says Smith asked her to
be on a committee at the church, and told her he needed her Social
Security number, drivers license and a utility bill. A few months
later, the woman started getting bills in the mail for credit cards
she didn't open. She discovered three cards with a combined balance
of $51,000, according to court records. She confronted Smith, who
said he'd pay her back, but that apparently never happened. Smith's
wife, Jerri Smith, has also been arrested and faces the same
charges as her husband. |

Friday stemming from a 2015 arrest on charges of using a child in a

community service. Judge Felicia A. Mennin handed down the sentence
Friday, ordering Hernandez to refrain contact with gang members and
must not be arrested during the probationary period. If he is found
in violation of the plea agreement, he could face 1 to 4 years in
prison. In May 2015, Hernandez was arrested after video surfaced of
him engaging in sexual acts with a girl at a party in Harlem. He was
18 years old at the time, and the girl was less than 17 years old,
according to the plea deal. |

32-year-old woman and her high school-age stepdaughter died in a
hit-and-run crash Sunday evening west of Nebraska City. Auburn
residents Rachel Curry,
15-year-old Chloe Curry and Michael Curry, 39, were
heading south in a Chevy pickup on U.S. 75 near H Road at 7:20 p.m.
when their pickup collided with a northbound Buick. Rachel Curry
died at the scene. Chloe Curry and her father were taken to CHI St.
Mary's in Nebraska City, where Chloe Curry died just before
9 p.m., Partsch said.Michael Curry, who was driving, survived the crash, the release said. The Buick was totaled, but the driver wasn't at the scene when rescue workers arrived. Otoe County sheriff's deputies searched the area with a police dog, and a Nebraska State Patrol helicopter circled above, to no avail. Late Sunday night, law enforcement officers found the suspected driver, Rickie E. Anthony, 54, in Falls City, 57 miles south of the crash site, Partsch said. He had received a ride from someone else. Anthony, a resident of Douglas County, received medical treatment and was taken to the Otoe County jail. (KDKA) — A Wilkinsburg man is facing a number of charges for
allegedly tying up a woman, pistol-whipping her and assaulting her
granddaughter. Wilkinsburg Police officers were sent to an apartment
in the 1200 block of Wood Street just after 2 a.m. Sunday for a
report of someone screaming for help. While officers were on their
way to the scene, they were told a woman reported that she was
“pistol-whipped” and held hostage inside her apartment. The
victim told police 25-year-old Johnny Johnson, of
Wilkinsburg, called her and asked if he could stop by for a visit.
The victim considered Johnson a family friend. After Johnson arrived, there was a message saying something to the effect of “this is a robbery.” One of the victim’s granddaughters told police she had been asleep in her room when she woke up to find Johnson, who was naked and armed with a knife, on top of her and “trying to touch her.” She then started screaming and kicking. |

- The suspect in the killing of a Camden County man was arrested
last week when an NJ Transit officer spotted him smoking in a bus
lane. Lonnie Arrington, 48, was arrested about 8:30 a.m. Oct.
16 at Newark Penn Station, officials said Monday. According to NJ
Transit, an officer on foot patrol spotted the man illegally smoking
in the bus lanes. While talking to Arrington, the officer became
suspicious and ran a computer search, officials said. "Something
didn’t feel right and the officer followed up on his hunch, which
led to a dangerous individual being taken off the streets," NJ
Transit Police Chief Christopher Trucillo said in a news release.The search confirmed Arrington, of Newark, was wanted in connection with the death of Michael Shendock. transient in the slaying of a 77-year-old man, whose wife found him
dead when she came home from an overnight work shift two months ago,
police said Monday. Detectives had surmised that the August slaying
of John Roth may have happened
during a botched burglary. On Sunday they arrested Carey Lamont
Reid, Jr. in a parking lot near the home of the victim.
Police said the suspect had left DNA at the scene. On
Friday, police learned that the DNA belonged to Reid, a 21-year-old
transient, police said. And then Sunday, someone called to report a
person sleeping in the parking lot of a tire shop on North Coast
Highway, not far from Roth’s home on Tremont Street. That person was
Reid, who was subsequently arrested and booked into jail on
suspicion of murder. Roth’s death had been a mystery for weeks. Hancock
deputies arrest (black dread-locked) man suspected of five
murders in La.  Deputies
from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office this week arrested a
Waveland man suspected of at least five
murders in Louisiana. Darrell Williams, Jr.is
believed to be responsible for up to five separate murders that
occurred in the Sabine Parish area." After receiving the warrant,
the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office tracked Williams and his
wife Casi down at a Waveland Avenue apartment.At around 4 p.m. the deputies conducted a stop on a vehicle that was occupied by Williams and his wife, Skinner said. "During the stop, agents located marijuana and a .40 caliber handgun," Skinner said. "Darrell was taken into custody for the outstanding murder warrant, while his wife, Casi, was arrested on the charge of possession of marijuana while operating a vehicle. Both were taken into custody without incident." Deputies then conducted a search warrant on the Williams' residence, Skinner said, locating approximately 3.5 pounds of marijuana, digital scales and $11,000 in U.S. Currency. |

Beavers sat on the patio of her McClendon Drive home
Sept. 30 smoking a cigarette. It was 2 a.m. and the
35-year-old was dozing off when she heard two men come into her
backyard, according to a DeKalb County police report. Moments
later, as she wrestled with one of the men, she heard two gunshots,
police said. Her husband Teddy Mierzwa
had been fatally shot in the chest. Last week, police arrested Brandon Lowe at a business in Buckhead in connection with the drug-related home invasion and are searching for another possible suspect. Police have not provided a motive for killing, but indicated the homicide was drug-related. It is not clear if Lowe and an accomplice were searching for “the large sum of narcotics” found inside the home. The crime was a targeted attack. Beavers, a former assistant professor at Georgia State University, was arrested the night of the killing on trafficking cocaine, illegal drugs, marijuana or methamphetamine. She bonded out of jail Oct. 6, according to DeKalb County Jail records. - (Black-on-white) |
