Eric Boyd now charged with murder of Channon Christian, Chris
Newsom Eric Boyd was convicted in federal court for being an accessory in the murders of the young Knox County couple. Now, he's charged with murder. More than 11 years after the murder of a young Knox County couple, a fifth person has now been charged with killing them. On Jan. 7, 2007, while out on a date, Chris Newsom and Channon Christian were carjacked and taken to a small home that once stood on Chipman Street in North Knoxville. They were tortured, raped and eventually murdered. "It’s about time. We’ve been trying to get something done ever since the trials were over," said Gary Christian, Channon's father. "I don’t think that we are ever going to get true justice on this earth. It’ll come but not here." Four people were tried and convicted for charges related to the murders --- Lemaricus Davidson, his brother Latalvis Cobbins, George Thomas and Vanessa Coleman. Davidson received the death penalty. Cobbins is serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole. Thomas ultimately got life with a chance at parole, and Coleman, convicted of facilitation in Christian’s murder, kidnapping and rape, was sentenced to 53 years in prison. Davidson's friend, Eric D. Boyd, was convicted in federal court of being an accessory after the fact. He's serving an 18-year prison sentence and is set to be released from federal prison in 2022. rental scam lands 12 (blacks) in handcuffs - one a Trenton city
employee Mercer County authorities have arrested a dozen rental scammers who moved into homes that were vacant or being foreclosed. The alleged fraudsters would change the locks, turn on utilities and live rent-free and sometimes create leases and rent the properties to others, confusing real estate agents and police officers. And they had a Trenton Water Works employee illegally turning on the water service for them. When bank inspectors or property managers would stop in to check on the home or show it, they would find the occupants and have to call local police to step in and try to figure out the situations. Detectives identified Barbara Brooks, 48, of Trenton, as the alleged leader of the ring. Brooks also allegedly recruited Michael Wilmore, 44, of Florence, a Trenton Water Works, employee to turn on water. Latasha Love, 32, of Ewing, authorities say, ran one of the more egregious examples of the scam. The other eight people who were arrested were: Endiya Thompson, 21, of Sicklerville; Jamar Hill, 37, of Hamilton; Shea Lightfoot, 38, of Willingboro; Dominique Morgan, 31, of Hamilton; Tarrik Boles, 36, of Hamilton; Shauntee Stokes, 40, of Trenton; Sandra Freeman, 49, of Hamilton; and Eddie Thompson, 45, of Trenton. Parolee freed from KCK murder of (white) woman last year; now
he's murdered another (White) woman After two Wyandotte County juries could not convict a parolee in the 2015 killing of an Overland Park woman, he was released last fall from jail. Now Antoine R. Fielder is charged in the shooting death of a woman in Kansas City just months later. Fielder, 30, was charged Tuesday in Jackson County in the Dec. 26 killing of Rosemarie Harmon, whose body was found in the 600 block of Spruce Avenue. Fielder also faces assault and armed criminal action charges in the shooting of a male friend of Harmon's. Fielder had been released from jail in Wyandotte County after a second mistrial last July in the Kansas City, Kan., murder case. Prosecutors dismissed the murder charge Sept. 29. According to court records, Harmon approached a dark-colored, four-door vehicle on Spruce Avenue in Kansas City but quickly ran away and then dove behind a couch that was outside. The car sped away but returned a minute later as Harmon's friend checked to see if she was injured. Fielder stepped out of the car and fired several gunshots at the friend, striking him as he ran away. Fielder stood over Harmon and fired several shots at her, the court documents allege. Harmon died at the scene. Her friend was treated at a hospital. The incident was captured on video surveillance, court records stated. A woman later told Kansas City police that three days after the Harmon shooting she met up with Fielder to "party" on Independence Avenue and was held by gunpoint. Fielder showed the woman news coverage on his cellphone of four homicides he said committed, court documents say. The first homicide was "Rosie's," referring to Rosemarie Harmon. Fielder allegedly told the woman that he "put that bitch in the ground and her man in the hospital," according to court records. - (Black-on-white) |

Arrest
made in murder of (white) 58-year-old Mulberry woman - by her
old black male 'roommate' MULBERRY (FOX 13) - Nearly two weeks after a Mulberry woman was found dead in her home, detectives say they have made an arrest. The body of 58-year-old Tammy Butler was discovered on March 22 after 6 p.m. Deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home on NW 1st Avenue in Mulberry after her friends, who haven’t spoken to her in several days, requested a well-being check. Deputies said when they entered her home they found Butler “obviously deceased inside.” On Thursday morning, the sheriff’s office announced they arrested a Bartow man in connection with her murder. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said deputies arrested Marvin Brewer, 53, on first degree murder charges. "He viciously murdered her," said Sheriff Judd Thursday. "He cut her throat. He intended for her to die on that Sunday afternoon in her home." Judd said the Medical Examiner was able to recover DNA evidence that linked Brewer, who has an extensive criminal history, to the murder of Butler. Brewer also admitted to being with Brewer that Sunday afternoon, and witnesses have shared surveillance video with deputies that shows he was with her that afternoon. Judd says Brewer once lived with Butler, and he went to her home to have sexual relations in exchange for $30. Instead, Judd says Brewer raped and murdered Butler. - (Black-on-white) |

Heavy-drinking, foul-mouthed Earl — who gave up full-time work to devote himself to Tiger’s golf — apparently ‘degraded’ his wife with insults. Success only accentuated Woods’s personal shortcomings, making him even more arrogant and surly. His idea of humour was crude, off-colour jokes about black men’s sexual prowess, preferably told to women. From 1998 to 2000 Woods had another girlfriend — also blonde — whom he again kept out of the limelight. |

husband left (white) St. Louis woman on floor to die,
family claims - going to have to 'pull the plug' on her SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - The family of a South City woman said she was hit repeatedly, kicked unconscious and left on the floor to die. The woman is resting in a room at SLU Hospital, police said she suffered a severe brain bleed. Her sister tells News 4 doctors don't expect her to see, speak or walk again. It's only a matter of days, according to the woman's sister, before Nancy Johnson's family will see her one last time. "It was a total shock of what happened to my sister," said Frances Rudisill. Rudisill spoke about what might have gone on inside her sister's South City home. "There was no reason for something like this to happen to someone. She had been with this man 30 years. He said he loved her. He was so abusive to her and we did not know it until recently," said Rudisill. St. Louis Police arrested Johnson's husband, Robert, at SLU Hospital. He is charged with two counts of first-degree domestic assault. Paramedics called officers while rushing Johnson to the emergency room. "The detective told us this is the worst case she had ever seen. She was beaten so severely. She was hit and kicked in the head until she was unconscious," added Rudisill. Rudisill says that it was actually friends of the couple that called for help after seeing Johnson. "We were thinking, maybe, whatever conscience he had was getting to him," added Rudisill. "He had been packing his bags, had all of her jewelry and a sum of money put in the bag. He was getting ready to bolt. He told paramedics she fell out of bed." Police said Robert Johnson later admitted to a detective that he had hit and kicked his wife. |
