teen found in dumpster YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A 22-year-old man was sentenced today to 62 years to life in prison for killing a 16-year-old girl in Austintown and tossing her body into a dumpster. Ricki Williams, IV, who has been in the Mahoning County Jail since July 2014 since his arrest for the stabbing death of Gina Burger, appeared before Judge John Durkin this morning. Prosecutors, who sought a sentence of life without parole, tell 21 News that Williams will be eligible for parole when he turns 80 years old. Williams agreed earlier to plead guilty to all eight charges including aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, tampering with evidence, and intimidation. In exchange, prosecutors agreed to take the death penalty off the table as a possible sentence. Williams previously attempted to plead not guilty by reason of insanity. Ronisha Johnson, who lived at the Compass West apartments where Burger was last seen by her mother on June 23, 2014, told authorities that Burger came over to her apartment that night, where Burger was stabbed in the chest by Williams. She stated Williams pulled the knife from Burger's chest and smelled it as Burger collapsed onto the floor. Burger's body was eventually discovered by employees of a garbage transfer station near Grove City. - (Black-on-white) |

recordings depicting sexual abuse land Euclid negro in prison
for decades CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A judge sentenced a Euclid man to 40 years in prison after she heard secret cellphone recordings of him abusing and threatening the teenage girl he had raped for years. The recordings, which the girl made over several months on a phone she hid in her purse, showed Milton Hall threatening to beat her if she refused to perform oral sex on him and telling her that no one would believe her if she came forward. The girl, who was 17 at the time, constantly yelled "stop" throughout the encounters, and begged the 57-year-old Hall to get off of her. Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Jen Driscoll played a selection of the recordings for Common Pleas Judge Hollie Gallagher at Hall's sentencing hearing Tuesday on eight counts of rape, five counts of gross sexual imposition and other charges in connection with the abuse that prosecutors say spanned eight years. Gallagher called the recordings "compelling" and evidence that backed up the claims of Hall's victims, both of whom he was very close with. Hall began abusing the girl in 2009 when she was 10 years old, according to court records. |

during nap times arrested For the parents of a 5-year-old boy who said his preschool teacher sexually abused him during nap time, the former teacher’s arrest Tuesday brought relief — but also the solemn realization that the nightmare they have been living is real, they said. Orlando police arrested the ex-teacher, 25-year-old Jayrico Jayrice Hamilton, several months after parents of two boys filed lawsuits against Hamilton and Bright Horizons Children’s Centers. The parents of one of the boys spoke outside the day care Wednesday afternoon. Their son was 4 years old in May when he told them Hamilton touched him. “Bright Horizons let us down, and Jayrico Hamilton hurt us,” the father said, his voice cracking. The boy told forensic interviewers that Hamilton put his mouth on the child’s penis “kind of every day” while other children were sleeping during nap times, according to an arrest report. The child also described other touching and said Hamilton would kiss him on the mouth, the arrest report states. |

immigrant urinating in public slashes man who objected, cops
say An illegal immigrant caught urinating in public in Maryland used a box-cutter to viciously attack a man who suggested he use a bathroom, according to a report Tuesday. The victim was treated for slash wounds to his neck, face and stomach after the attack, which occurred two months ago at a bus terminal in Montgomery County outside Washington, WJLA-TV reported. The accused attacker, Salvador Gomez-Lopez, 46, of Montgomery County, was allegedly drunk and belligerent at the time, the station reported. Court records show Gomez-Lopez was arrested on two counts of assault, public intoxication and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. He was indicted a few weeks later. A judge called his case last week but he was not present for the conference. He has an April trial date and is being held on $5,000 bond. A spokeswoman with Immigration Customs and Enforcement told Fox News on Tuesday that Gomez-Lopez was in the U.S. illegally from El Salvador. ICE “lodged a detainer” following his arrest in Maryland and he was also a fugitive, the spokeswoman said. When cops got to the bus terminal they were met by the bloody victim and another person who witnessed the attack. The pair explained the trouble began when Gomez-Lopez started to relieve himself in plain view of other bus riders, the station reported. As he was doing so, the victim suggested that Gomez-Lopez should pull up his pants and use a bathroom. That's when Gomez-Lopez reportedly pulled out a razor-sharp box-cutter from his backpack, the station reported. A fierce struggle ensued and Gomez-Lopez and the victim allegedly wound up on the pavement. The victim ultimately pried away the weapon but only after suffering serious lacerations, including three deep cuts to his neck. |

white-and-black?) Couple Who Opened Fire On Home Intruder HEMET (CBSLA) — A Hemet couple in their 70s are bruised and battered but say they are alive because they were armed and not afraid to open fire on a man who broke into their home. KCAL9’s Tina Patel spoke to the couple about their ordeal and how they fought back. “I really wanted to hurt this guy, I really did,” says Jeff Sagmeister. And Sagmeister says he doesn’t feel bad about opening fire on the suspect. He says the man broke into his home early Tuesday morning. The 71-year-old says a gun was the only way he could fight back against 27-year-old Dechawn Wallace. “That lowlife was in our house, and he shouldn’t be in here,” Sagmeister says, matter-of-factly. He said when he first saw Wallace in his home, he was too stunned to shoot. “We’re really fighting for the gun, and the only thing I thought to myself was if he takes this gun away from me, he was going to kill me.” Sagmeister said. The gun went off while they wrestled around. The bullet hit the wall behind the toilet. Wallace tried to run out at that point, not realizing Mrs. Sagmeister was also armed. “When he came out, he nailed her in the face as hard as he could,” he said. The couple held their ground and both opened fire. “I shot him at least three or four more times in the chest area,” Sagmeister said. Wallace ended up getting away. But he was arrested when he showed up at a Moreno Valley Hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds. Sagmeister is glad he was caught and is now telling the neighbors in his senior community that if they don’t want to become victims, they should consider arming themselves. “You just have to do it because you can’t let some creep come in here and wail on you,” Sagmeister says, “and take all your stuff.” - (Black-on-white) |

Shortly after that, multiple gunshots were heard and both victims were found deceased on the sidewalk. He said investigators don't believe the killings were random. "Both victims barely entered adulthood and lost the chance to experience life,'' Shelton said. "While on scene, you felt like the suspect had no value for them at all. Sad situation all around." Pepper was living with his aunt in Fountain Heights. Price had moved back home with her father in eastern Jefferson County. Price's sister, Aubrie Price, said she dropped her off at the 12th Avenue location so she could see Pepper. The two had been dating for about a year. |

mom Buoi Thi Bui agreed to give consultant $1.5M to
help kids’ college admissions: suit - not fair to native-born A tiger mom agreed to pay an astonishing $1.5 million to a college-admissions consultant to help get her kid into a prestigious prep school and Ivy League college, according to a lawsuit. The stunning fee was charged by The Ivy Coach, a Manhattan-based “independent education consultant” firm that helps guide anxious parents and their children through the process of getting into elite boarding schools and colleges. The consultant is now suing the mother and daughter for allegedly paying only half the fee. Vietnamese mom Buoi Thi Bui promised to pay in installments, in exchange for The Ivy Coach’s Bev Taylor helping Bui’s daughter, Vinh Ngoc Dao, apply to seven boarding schools and 22 universities, including Harvard, Princeton and Columbia, according to the lawsuit. Bui, who lives in Hanoi, and Dao “are amongst the international aristocracy.” They, along with “government leaders, captains of industry, celebrated glitterati and scores of the world’s high net-worth families — and their children,” are among those served by The Ivy Coach, the business claims in Manhattan federal-court papers. |
