(Killer darkie) Jo-Jo White seeks new sentence in Drake Diner slayings of two White managers Jo-Jo White must be re-sentenced because the U.S. Supreme Court banned mandatory life-without-parole sentences for juveniles in 2012. He was 17 at the time of the Drake Diner slayings. Prosecutors and defense lawyers are preparing to revisit one of the most infamous crimes in Des Moines' history at a new sentencing hearing on track to happen for Joseph "Jo-Jo" White Jr. White, 40, is currently serving a life-without-parole prison sentence for the Nov. 29, 1992, shooting deaths of two young managers working that evening at the Drake Diner. The murders happened in front of at least 40 people inside the restaurant, setting off a tense search for the shooter before White was arrested six days later. White was 17 at the time of the killings. The majority decision written by Justice Elena Kagan found young people often lack maturity and said states should give many juvenile killers a "meaningful opportunity for release" at some point. A review of records between 1993 and 1997 showed White had repeated problems in Iowa prisons — ranging from threatening guards, fighting with other inmates, having unauthorized tobacco and gang-related conduct. White was one of six inmates involved in a 1996 attempt to hijack a prison transport van, a move that landed him in federal prison. He is currently serving his sentence at U.S. Penitentiary Big Sandy, a high-security prison in Kentucky, according to the federal Bureau of Prisons. The shooting inside the diner the Sunday after Thanksgiving killed Cara McGrane, 25, and Tim Burnett, 28. Both were shot in the head. The shooter walked into the restaurant wearing a hooded sweatshirt and grabbed less than $500 from the cash register before fleeing. White had come back to Des Moines recently before the shooting after growing up with family members in Seattle. His father, Joseph White Sr., was shot and killed by police in 1977. - (Black-on-white) |

St. Louis jury convicts Poplar Bluff, Mo., man in killing of Drury Inn night manager A St. Louis jury on Friday found Joseph Bowens guilty of first-degree murder in the killing of a night manager at the Drury Inn & Suites hotel on Jan. 15, 2015. Scott Knopfel, 50, of St. Louis, was shot in the chest and face during a robbery just before 3 a.m. at the hotel, on Hampton Avenue at Interstate 44. Bowens, 45, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., was captured a few days after the murder in the area where he lived, after surveillance images from the hotel were shared widely by the media. Video depicted the robber approaching the front desk and talking to Knopfel for about a minute before pointing a revolver at the employee and vaulting over the front desk. Two of three shots fired were captured by the cameras. A car similar to Bowens’ was also caught on camera and a security guard identified Bowens in court as the person she saw enter and leave the hotel at the time of the murder. Prosecutors said Knopfel’s DNA was found on a leather jacket found at Bowens’ home — a jacket that matched the one the robber was seen wearing. Also, they said, an autopsy revealed Bowens’ DNA on Knopfel’s left hand. Cell tower data also put Bowens near the scene that night, prosecutors said. Bowens’ first-degree murder conviction will mean an automatic sentence of life without parole. The St. Louis jury, which deliberated only a couple hours after a three-day trial, also found him guilty of first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. Bowens had a conviction history including drug, robbery, assault, DWI and gun cases. Court and prison records showed he had repeatedly violated the terms of his probation or parole. Knopfel was a lifelong resident of south St. Louis. - (Black-on-white) |

Occupied Germany: (Black African sex beast) Asylum seeker 'raped teen girl FOUR TIMES' The 25-year-old Senegalese man, who has his own family, had came to Germany as a refugee just one month before the alleged attack. The accused rapist had been given accommodation in the town of Muhldorf am Inn in the southern province of Bavaria. According to police, the man, identified as Assane N, had often pestered local women for sex. He attacked his victim after stopping her outside a nightclub and asking her to wait a second. He then snatched her mobile phone, and when she asked for it back, he had asked for a kiss. When she refused, he dragged her into the bushes and allegedly raped her as many as four times. The sick man ran off when he heard voices and the abused girl managed to attract the attention of people passing. Police used tracker dogs to follow the man’s scent to an asylum home in Muhldorf where the woman identified the man from a selection of photographs. The man only admitted it when a DNA test confirmed that he was the attacker. He had fled to Germany from Italy and before that from Libya where he was paid €75 a month as an asylum refugee until his application was rejected. The reason for the rejection included that he had attacked an Italian girl, stealing her handbag. The Senegalese man is now in investigative custody and will appear in court on 19 April where he faces six years in jail. Sexual violence in Germany has skyrocketed since Angela Merkel allowed hundreds of thousands of migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East into the country. |

I did not know how to respond , so therefore I pretended to be. I turned off, became numb and felt nothing in nearly five years , helped by cannabis and drunkenness. |
(Black) Man found fit to stand trial in murder of reputed (Jewish) slumlord A man accused of kidnapping a Brooklyn landlord, strangling him, and setting him on fire has been found fit to stand trial. Kendel Felix, who has been in custody since the January 2014 murder of reputed slumlord Menachem Stark, appeared via video conference Thursday before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Neil Firetog to set hearings for early June. After his April 2014 arrest, Felix detailed an elaborate plot for police in which he’d been approached by someone named “Erskine,” who said Stark owed him money, and told that if he helped Erskine “scare” the landlord, he’d give him a cut of the profit. His account also pointed fingers at two other men, who he only identified as “Kendall,” and “Irvine.” Felix was the only one charged in Stark’s killing. The accused killer blabbed to cops after they asked him whether his preacher father had taught him to tell the truth. Stark, whose half-charred corpse was found abandoned in a Long Island dumpster, had lots of enemies, a law enforcement source previously told the Post. “Any number of people wanted to kill this guy,” the source said. |

Abbeville police investigators originally charged Culver with felony first-degree burglary and felony first-degree rape. Clenney said the charges stemmed from a residential burglary in Abbeville during which a woman became the victim of a sexual assault. “There were two sisters and the most elderly lady, who is now deceased, and her sister, who was I believe 74 at the time, resided together in their house,” Clenney said. |

(Black) Former A&M football player found incompetent to stand trial in machete murder case The former Texas A&M football player accused of murdering a runner with a machete will not go to trial after a recent ruling found Thomas Johnson mentally incompetent. Relatives say Thomas was diagnosed with schizophrenia before he allegedly hacked Dave Stevens to death on the White Rock Lake trail in Dallas in October 2015. Jennifer Balido represents Thomas. She says he will be sent to North Texas State Hospital for up to 120 days for treatment and evaluation. Balido presumes Thomas can be made well enough to help in his defense which could involve the argument that he was insane at the time of the murder. “I believe that he will eventually go to trial,” Balido said. “Just because he is not competent now does not mean, necessarily, that he was insane at the time of the offense. But it does show the extent of his mental health problems.” Police say Thomas walked to a nearby equestrian center after allegedly killing Stevens, called 9-1-1 and confessed to the crime. Two weeks later, Stevens’ wife of 25 years, Patti, killed herself. - (Black-on-white) |
