Man convicted of shooting three cops hurls insults in handcuffs A Brooklyn man was convicted Wednesday of shooting three NYPD cops — and he sent a final insult to a half-dozen cops gathered in the courtroom when he turned and hissed, “Suck my d–k,” before being led away in handcuffs. Nakwon Foxworth, 33, was convicted on multiple counts of assault on a police officer for shooting and wounding the Emergency Service Unit cops when he barricaded himself inside his Sheepshead Bay apartment on Easter Sunday 2012. As the Brooklyn Supreme Court jury was led out of the courtroom late Wednesday night, Foxworth turned and spat the vulgar insult at the detectives and cops in the courtroom. A detective seated in the gallery silently returned the sentiment, cockily gesturing to his own crotch as court officers snapped handcuffs onto Foxworth. “Suck my d–k,” Foxworth repeated before court officers led him out. - (Black-on-white) |

Bond reduced, but (black-on-White) murder suspects not going anywhere BLOOMINGTON — Bond was reduced to $2 million for one of three men charged with murder in the beating death of a homeless man last summer. Judge Scott Drazewski agreed the $3 million bond for Willie Chambers was excessive but in lowering it to $2 million, the judge acknowledged the bond remains unreachable for the 18-year-old defendant. Chambers faces murder charges, along with Tory Washington, 20, and Anthony Davis-Dickson, 19, all of Bloomington, in the beating death of Ronald D. Smith. The 56-year-old victim died July 3, about a month after he was severely beaten while he slept in O'Neil Park on the city's west side. Those felony charges against Chambers and the two other suspects stem from two incidents in Normal where two men were struck and robbed on Constitution Trail — after Smith was beaten. - (Black-on-white) |
