Black female caregiver found guilty after White disabled veteran patient found frozen to death CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A jury found a 74-year-old caregiver guilty in the death of her patient who froze to death in 2014. Police said Dale El Smith watched television while the 66-year-old victim with intellectual disabilities spent 10 hours outside in the freezing temperatures in January. Police said an adult day care service didn't pick up Arthur "Gary" Pelham, who was bipolar and schizophrenic, because of the bad weather. According to the warrant, the victim told a neighbor Smith would not let him back inside. Police said Smith told them she didn't give Pelham a key because of his mental condition. Officers said Smith told them she was watching television while Pelham spent hours out in the frigid cold. “I think he just had on jeans and a jacket. Just a small jacket,” said neighbor Andre Higgs. A neighbor finally called 911. Police said Smith told them she thought the transportation company had picked up Pelham. Smith was sentenced to life with parole plus 20 years. - (Black-on-white) |

Oklahoma U. Expels (White) Racist Students, But Not Violent (Black) Football Players University of Oklahoma President David Boren expelled two students for racist chanting, ostensibly because the school has an unofficial zero tolerance policy on racism. But Boren had plenty of tolerance for OU football players who committed violence against women and were allowed, not merely to remain at the university, but also to rejoin the football team. The Daily Caller News Foundation's Blake Neff notes that last year, (black) freshman Joe Mixon was caught on tape punching a (white) female student in the face. He knocked her unconscious and broke four of her facial bones. He was later convicted of a misdemeanor assault charge. I also believe in second chances, although it's easier for me to grant them to people who merely said insensitive things than it is for me to grant them to perpetrators of violence against women. Boren, it seems, feels differently. Or perhaps star running back Mixon was more deserving of forgiveness because he was a critical part of OU's football program?. - (Black-on-white) |

Black teen thug arrested in murder of Iraqi refugee watching his first snowfall in Dallas A Texas teen has been arrested for fatally shooting an Iraqi refugee watching his first-ever snowfall, police said. Nykerion Nealon, 17, was arrested early Friday after gunning down Ahmed al-Jumaili outside his Dallas apartment complex March 4, Maj. Jeff Cotner told reporters alongside the victim's father-in-law Friday. Al-Jumaili was shot in front of his wife and brother, three weeks after fleeing Iraq to be in a safer place and reunite with his wife, who had moved to America a year earlier. Nealon, who went by the nickname Kaca, did not know al-Jumaili and shot him while seeking revenge, Cotner said. Someone reportedly shot at his girlfriend's apartment in a neighboring complex, making Nealon round up three buddies to look for the suspect, a witness told police. They went to Nealon's apartment to get his assault rifle and then headed to Al-Jumaili's apartment complex. The thug saw al-Jumaili taking pictures of the snow and raised his rifle, one of his friends told police. The friend took cover under bushes and heard shots ring out, he said. Al-Jumaili ran back to his apartment as Nealon followed him with his eyes, continually aiming his rifle and firing at him, Cotner said. Al-Jumaili was shot in the chest. |

2 Police Officers Shot in Ferguson ‘Ambush’ Are Released From Hospital FERGUSON, Mo. — The two police officers who were shot during a protest here early Thursday were victims of “an ambush,” the St. Louis County police chief said, hours after gunfire rang out in front of the police station, throwing into panic what had been a largely peaceful protest. Demonstrators and police officers alike hit the ground when the shots echoed through the crisp air shortly after midnight, striking the two officers. Many people ran for cover, and police officers clad in riot gear dragged their wounded comrades to safety. Other officers crouched behind cars and walls, drawing their handguns or rifles as they rapidly swiveled their heads every which way to survey their surroundings. The injured officers were released from the hospital Thursday morning. “We’re lucky by God’s grace we didn’t lose two officers last night,” Chief Jon Belmar of the St. Louis County Police Department said at a midmorning news conference. It was clear that the police were the targets, he said, adding, “This is really an ambush, is what it is.” The younger officer was shot in the cheekbone, just below his right eye, and the bullet lodged behind his right ear, Chief Belmar said. A bullet struck the other officer in the right shoulder, and exited his back on the right side. No officers returned fire. |
Black man sought for years in a series of violent crimes arrested in Trinidad and Tobago A man who was ordered to leave Canada 15 years ago after admitting to killing a person during a home invasion is now accused of sneaking back into the country at least twice to allegedly carry out thirteen similar robberies, including one that ended with another victim being killed in Laval almost a decade ago. Septimus Neverson, 52, was arrested last month in Port of Spain, the capital city of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, on a request from police in Montreal and Laval after a lengthy investigation by a joint task force connected him to a series of nine home invasions carried out in 2006, in the western part of the Montreal Island and Laval, that had left police puzzled and frustrated for years. At one point a $25,000 reward was offered for the suspect’s arrest. He is also alleged to have left Canada sometime after 2006 and then returned to carry out another four home invasions in Montreal during 2009. According to records held by Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board, Neverson, a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, arrived in Canada in June 1985 as a visitor and then went on a crime spree that included the home invasion, on March 20, 1987, that resulted in the death of Jean-Guy Gauthier, a 35-year-old north end Montreal resident who was killed in his house on Legendre St. One charge includes the first-degree murder of Jacques Sénécal, a 61-year-old artist and teacher who was shot on July 20, 2006, during a robbery in his home in the Ste-Dorothée district of Laval. Neverson will also be charged with the attempted murder of Frank Dike Nwagbara, a businessman who was shot during a home invasion in LaSalle on July 16, 2006. The first home invasion Nevermore is alleged to have carried out was on May 4, 2006, in a home on a quiet crescent in Baie d’Urfé. In that case, Robert Chalabi and his wife, Debora, were forced at gunpoint to load their own car with valuables and then the robber ordered them to drive him around and withdraw their cash from ATMs. - (Canada) - (Black-on-white) |

'He was my world,' says wife of Joshua Richey, Alabama man gunned down (by black) outside Georgia Kroger The wife of an Alabama man gunned down outside a grocery store on Atlanta's east side said she was expecting anything but the news she got when lawmen showed up at her Hayden home. Kathy Richey, whose husband Josh Richey was slain during a robbery Tuesday outside a Kroger on Ponce de Leon Avenue, said she had just spoken with her husband an hour before his death. "Nothing like that ever crossed my mind,'' Kathy Richey said. Police have said Josh Richey, 38, caught the shooter trying to break into his work truck. He was the superintendent for a construction company. Josh Richey's co-worker, Jason Shelton, said the two were working at the store when Josh Richey spotted an unknown man inside their pickup truck. Shelton said Josh Richey approached the truck and the man inside shot through the window, hitting him in the chest and killing him. The two suspects then fled the scene. - (Black-on-white) |

Appeals court upholds conviction in horrific (black-on-White racist) Knoxville slayings KNOXVILLE - A state appeals court late Tuesday issued an opinion upholding the conviction and death sentence for the ringleader in one of Knoxville's most notorious crimes. The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals in a 91-page opinion rejected every argument advanced by Lemaricus Davidson, who was sentenced to die in the January 2007 torture killings of Channon Christian, 21, and Christopher Newsom, 23. Davidson was tried in October 2009. Trial testimony showed Davidson orchestrated the initial carjacking of the couple, who were held captive at Davidson's Chipman Street house before their deaths, and DNA evidence linked him to repeated rapes of Christian. Of the four defendants charged and convicted in the case, Davidson was the only one to receive a death sentence. The appellate court, in the opinion authored by Judge James Curwood Witt Jr., ruled there was ample evidence to support all of Davidson's myriad convictions for the carjacking, kidnapping, rape and slayings of the couple. The court rejected claims by Davidson's defense team of bad rulings before trial, legal mistakes during the trial and constitutional issues involving the law itself. - (Black-on-white) |
