- ...Robins got back into his car and drove up Greenway Road to Heather Drive where he allegedly, cut in front of an oncoming vehicle, according to police. The driver of that vehicle stopped and officers said Robins attacked her before again fleeing the area. 8 News Now spoke with that victim, Nicole Thompson, 27, by phone as she awaited surgery at a local hospital. Thompson said she was trying to drive to her Henderson-area home, when a man, who police said was robins, cut her off, got out of his car and approached her with a sledgehammer. "He got out, holding something, a hammer in his hand,” Thompson said. “So, I was saying ‘Please, you have the wrong person, please, please, please,' and he started hitting the car. I just started telling him you know, I don't want to die, I have a child at home, and he just started hitting me in the face." Thompson said her attacker could not be reasoned with. "He was just crazed,” she said. “I don't know, he was just going and just hitting me." Police said the attacker was Robins. Thompson said eventually, he walked away from the car and she drove herself home, where she saw the extent of her injuries, which include three broken bones in her jaw and a broken finger. “I drove to my house, got of the car and walked into the house and saw a mirror and I realized, it was bad,” Thompson said....

WOODBURY, N.J. — The family of a New Jersey girl who was strangled by a teenage boy two years ago is suing several law enforcement agencies. The lawsuit says that police didn’t act properly and that if they had, there’s “a reasonable chance” Autumn Pasquale would be alive. The South Jersey Times reports that the lawsuit alleges that authorities should have immediately implemented a child abduction response team, instead of waiting until the next day. It also claims they refused assistance from a retired law enforcement investigator. Pasquale, a 12-year-old Clayton resident, was killed in October 2012 after she went to a neighbor’s home to trade bicycle parts.

A court has heard a US Navy sailor accused of raping a Darwin woman sent the alleged victim a Facebook message apologising for his actions. Hugh Patrick Malone, 23, is accused of raping a Darwin woman in his hotel room in September 2013. In opening submissions in Darwin's Supreme Court, Crown prosecutor Matthew Nathan said the complainant and her two friends had made arrangements to meet a group of sailors including Malone at a Darwin bar. Mr Nathan said Malone, who was from the visiting Navy transport dock USS Denver, invited the woman back to his hotel room while he collected his belongings. The court heard he then pulled the woman into his room and started to kiss her roughly. Mr Nathan said Malone then picked her up, put her on the bed and digitally penetrated her, but stopped when she started to cry. 
The suspect in a Statesboro rape was recently arrested in North Carolina and is now in Bulloch County Jail, Statesboro police said. Clarence Hinson Lewis, 35, of Mikell Street, was arrested in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 14 on a warrant issued by the Statesboro Police Department charging him with rape, the police department said in a news release issued Monday. ALBANY, GA - An Albany man is going back to to prison, after he texted his probation officer while looking to buy marijuana. Alvin Cross Junior plead guilty Monday to possession of cocaine and was sentenced to one year in prison. He was also sentenced to serve another year for violating his probation. Prosecutors said Cross' probation officer received a text from Cross asking, "You have some weed?" Probation officers and drug agents raided Cross' home and found a bag of cocaine.

Jack Isabell’s charges include three counts of first degree murder, felony murder and attempted murder on top of all the robbery, weapons and drugs charges he got during after the authorities’ investigation into his alleged crimes. He also has a murder charge that makes the 41-year-old eligible for a mandatory sentence of life without parole. That specific charge was created when the death penalty was abolished in 2007, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s office.

Rashidah Brice, a/k/a Camille, a/k/a Milly pleaded guilty on Aug. 20, 2013 to sex trafficking a minor by force and two counts of sex trafficking by force. The 25-year-old, along with her co-defendant Christian Dior Womack, operated a prostitution venture in Philadelphia and the surrounding area between May 2012 and February 2013.

Desperate to raise money in the weeks before his first run for Congress, Michael Grimm e-mailed an ally in a bold bid to score large, and likely illegal, donations. He asked for $10,000 donations from six people, when the legal limit for individual contributions is $2,400. “We have very little time, as I need to start collecting checks as soon as today or tomorrow,” Grimm wrote in the Oct. 18, 2010, missive to Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto’s organization. “I think that if the Rabbi calls the six people and asks them to each write one check for the $10,000, then we can finish this in the next few days.” Pinto, an Orthodox mystic who lives in Manhattan and Israel, prompted the federal investigation against Grimm. The rabbi reported to federal authorities in 2010 that he was the victim of an alleged extortion scheme by two members of his inner circle, Israeli businessman Ofer Biton and p.r. executive Ronn Torossian. Grimm, at the time, had become a follower of the rabbi, even though he is not Jewish and speaks no Hebrew. Pinto does not speak English.
TOWSON, Md. - A popular Washington, D.C. rabbi accused of voyeurism apparently took some of his female Towson University students to the synagogue where he's accused of secretly videotaping women, reports CBS Baltimore. The rabbi, Barry Freundel, who taught classes at Towson since 2009, took the students to the synagogue as part of a field trip in their religious studies class, according to the station. Freundel was arrested last week on accusations that he set up a hidden camera and recorded video of women changing in the synagogue's ritual bathing area known as a mikvah, where women immerse themselves during sacred rituals. 
ST. LOUIS COUNTY • Sweeping changes to St. Louis Community College’s approach to campus safety can be traced back 18 months to an ambush of a young woman in a school bathroom. The attacker, Jevon Mallory, admitted in court Friday to sneaking up behind fellow student Blythe Grupe last year and choking her in a restroom on the Meramec campus in Kirkwood. Mallory, 20, of St. John, pleaded guilty of first-degree assault and faces up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 12. Mallory was released by campus police within hours of the attack on Grupe, despite his admission that he was attempting to “withdraw her from life” and that he attacked her to “vent his rage.” Officials didn’t alert the campus to the threat, and addressed the assault only after Grupe, then 19, went to the press for help. 
BEAUFORT CO., SC - Two men wanted for the murder of a Thunderbolt couple in Nov. 2013 have been arrested. The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office located and arrested Michael Donta Jones. Jones was wanted for two counts of felony murder, two counts of malice murder and two counts of aggravated assault which originated from a Nov.2013 investigation by the Thunderbolt Police Department in Georgia. A convicted rapist who served a 25-year prison sentence for that crime was convicted Wednesday (Oct. 22) of sexually assaulting a New Orleans woman only three months after he had regained his freedom. An Orleans Parish jury found David Falgout, 51, guilty of two counts of attempted forcible rape for holding up a woman at knifepoint at a Gentilly bus stop in December and sexually assaulting her. A Peoria County judge on Wednesday handed down a 22-year sentence for a man whom he described as one of the most dangerous he’s seen while on the bench. Demarco Comer was convicted of entering an apartment in the 500 block of Northeast Washington Street sometime before 6 a.m. March 9. A central Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty to raping two young girls hundreds of times over the past few years has been sentenced to 50 to 100 years in prison. Eric Todd Crader, 33, who was charged with 1,200 counts of child sex abuse was sentenced Tuesday in Centre County Court. Crader reached a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty in July to 213 counts of child rape. District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said in a statement that predators like him "who prey upon children and manipulate them with fear are the real monsters of some childhoods." 
A 28-year-old Seattle woman pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to second-degree rape in the alleged sexual assault on a man she didn’t know in June 2013. A motion by a defense attorney representing Chantae Marie Gilman to reduce her $100,000 bail was denied by King County Superior Court Judge Patrick Oishi, according to court records. Gilman, who recently gave birth to a baby girl, was a month into a six-month residential drug- and mental-health treatment program in Spokane when she was brought back to Seattle and booked into the King County Jail. The man arrived home at 10 p.m. and fell asleep on his bed. At 2 a.m., he was awakened to find Gilman on top of him, having sex with him while pinning his hands down over his head.

Authorities say a retired teacher and another man have been charged with sexually abusing a teenager starting more than 10 years ago. Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato said Thursday that Raymond Waters and Allen Harbatuk, 68, who both list the same home address in Hillsborough, were charged with abusing the victim starting in 2002. Both men were being held in jail and it wasn't clear if either had attorneys. Prosecutors say that Waters was the victim's art teacher in the student's freshman year of high school. The victim told prosecutors the abuse started then and continued for years. Waters, a former Boy Scout leader, introduced the victim to Harbatuk in 2003.
