Trial begins for black suspect in 2012 double murder of Whites; victim's mother, witness to shooting testify TULSA - The jury trial for a man accused of gunning down two people at south Tulsa Quiktrip is underway. Nineteen-year-old Jermaine Jackson is accused of shooting and killing 18-year-old Kirstjan Hinrik Thorsson and 37-year-old John White III Sept. 8, 2012. On Wednesday morning, prosecutors delivered opening statements, describing the night it happened. Assistant District Attorney Julie Doss stated Thorsson and White were friends because White was Thorsson's mother's boyfriend. Thorsson's mother, Johanna Pena, was the first witness to take the stand. She told the court she was with her son and White that evening. She said early the next morning around 1 a.m. White went to QuikTrip for her, taking Thorsson with him. According to the prosecutor, there was some type of altercation along the way to QuikTrip and the defendant, Jackson, followed them to the store. Once there, prosecutors say Jackson approached the car as White and Thorrson were leaving. Jackson allegedly opened fire, emptying his entire gun into the vehicle. - (Black-on-white) |

Update: Argument over cell phone ends with fatal stabbing of White man by black LAS VEGAS - Police said an argument over a cell phone led to the fatal stabbing of a person in the parking lot of a Las Vegas fast food eatery Thursday morning. The stabbing happened about 8:25 a.m. at a McDonald's restaurant in the 2600 block of West Sahara Avenue. Las Vegas Metro police said officers arrived to find an injured person. They said the victim was taken to University Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Police said the person responsible for the stabbing fled the scene and hid in a nearby vacant house, where he was arrested. Police later identified that man as Asa Funderburk, 36. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faces a charge of murder with a deadly weapon. - (Black-on-white) |

Clay man charged with rape, sexual contact with person younger than 13 Liverpool, N.Y. -- A town of Clay man has been arrested after having sexual contact with a person younger than 13 for four years, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office. Toni Albright, 46, of 7506 Plum Hollow Circle, has been charged with third-degree rape, second-degree criminal sexual act, third-degree criminal sexual act, second-degree criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child. He will appear in court on Thursday. |
Man back in jail on rape charges after previous peeping tom arrest KENNESAW, Ga. - Police say a young Kennesaw man, who was arrested earlier this month on trespassing and felony peeping tom charges, sexually forced himself on a young woman last week. According to a warrant, at 1:45 p.m. on April 13, while in a garage area of a residence, Christopher Robinson allegedly forced a sex act on a young woman against her will, then fled the scene. Robinson was arrested on April 15 on a felony charge of rape. Robinson was charged earlier this month when he was caught just after midnight on the back deck of the same home. He was looking through the window at his ex-girlfriend and another young lady while they were inside the home preparing to exercise. The women spotted “the intruder” and were able to take photographs as Robinson ran off. |
Sex offender lied about age to have sex with teen, Daytona Beach police say DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Daytona Beach police are asking for help finding a sex offender accused of having sex with a teen girl after lying to her about his age. According to police, Jimmy Pinckney, 42, had sex with the girl at her home after they met at the Dickerson Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Daytona Beach. The girl's mother reported to police that when she came home from work, she saw Pinckney running out the back door.The girl, between the ages of 12 and 16, said Pinckney told her he was 18. Pinckney was found guilty of sexual battery in 1990. |

Local Police: Man Charged With Sexual Battery May Have More Victims BOYNTON BEACH – Detectives believe that a man, arrested and charged with sexual battery on a helpless person, may have other victims. Issac Brevil, 26, was arrested Monday and is currently being held in Palm Beach County Jail on $50,000 bond. Brevil, according to the probable cause affidavit, unlawfully committed sexual battery without the victim’s consent and while she was helpless. The victim told police that she had gone out to a club with some friends on the night of February 27th and was drinking. When the victim woke up the next morning, around 5:30 AM, she told police that she was at a house in Boynton Beach with the suspect who was having sexual intercourse with her against her will. According to the report, the victim told the suspect to stop several times but he did not listen. The victim was able to get the suspect’s tag and the suspect was identified through a photo lineup. |

Black Nurse Accused Of Neglect PEMBROKE PINES – A mental health technician is facing elderly neglect charges after Pembroke Pines Police say she disobeyed a supervisor’s order and closed a mentally ill man in a room by himself and refused to help him when he tried to get out. Debra Judge-Thomas was charged last week with the crime that police say occurred at the South Florida State Hospital in Pembroke Pines. According to the police report: On December 2, 2013, Judge-Thomas was providing one-on-one care to Morris Celnikier, 62. Judge-Thomas told her supervisor that Celnikier, who suffered from schizophrenia, was hitting her and that Celnikier agreed to go in a “Comfort Room” to calm down. However police say Judge-Thomas grabbed Celnikier forcefully by his collar and put him in the room, closed the door against the supervisor’s orders and shut off the lights. The report says Celnikier then “started pounding on the door attempting to get out but Judge-Thomas who was sitting outside by the door did not take any action to let him out.” The report says Celnikier soiled himself and fell off a bed several times hitting his head and back on concrete causing broken ribs a fractured back and numerous bruises that his sister, Vivian Celnikier-Mechabar, remembers seeing. After he left the South Florida State Hospital, Morris Celnikier stayed in several hospitals and nursing homes to recuperate from his serious injuries, including injuries to his back that his sister said could have left him a paraplegic. White college professor brutally beaten up by black in campus parking garage believes a vengeful student hired attack over bad grade. While Professor Marc Magellan didn't recognize the assailant, nothing was stolen which leads him to think it was a hired hit. The attack happened April 15, just before 6pm in a campus parking garage, as the 31-year-old jazz and music history professor was leaving campus to go home. He says he turned around when he heard a man call out 'Professor Marc' and that's when he was hit with a sucker-punch to the face. The hit took him so by surprise that he was knocked to the ground, where the attacker continued to beat him up 'unmercifully' against the pavement. At one point, Mr Magellan says the assailant, who he didn't recognize as a student, 'was powerfully punching the side of my head against the concrete floor of the garage'. The attacker was described as 5-foot 10, weighing 180 pounds and either Hispanic or African-American. |
Native AFRICAN Teen stowaway reportedly fancied Africa, not Maui The 15-year-old Santa Clara boy who survived a five-hour flight from San Jose in the wheel well of a Hawaiian Airlines plane had hoped to visit his mother in Africa and didn't realize he was heading to Maui, according to a Hawaii media report. The boy, a student at Santa Clara High School, was unhappy living with his father, stepmother and siblings and wanted to reunite with his mother and other relatives in his native Africa, Hawaii News Now reported, citing unidentified sources in the Maui Police Department. |
Memphis man arrested in rape of child Memphis police have arrested a man accused of repeatedly raping a child. Gabriel Dotson, 38, has been charged with rape, statutory rape by an authority figure, rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery. He is being held on $100,000 bond. According to police, Dotson assaulted the girl from June 2009, when she was 11, through March. The girl is now 16. |
Man who forced way into home wearing only sweatshirt arrested MARMADUKE, AR – Police have arrested a man who they say forced his way into a home wearing only a red sweatshirt. According to Marmaduke Police Chief Steve Franks, Nathan Inskeep was arrested Monday. Inskeep is a level three sex offender from Paragould. Franks says Inskeep forced his way into a woman's home and assaulted her while she was holding her one-year-old child. Inskeep was charged with aggravated residential burglary, breaking or entering, first degree battery and indecent exposure. |
Overland man charged with raping 12-year-old girl An Overland man with a history of rape convictions faces charges after police say he forced a young girl to have sex with him. Joseph Smith, 53, was charged with two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy and two counts of first-degree child molestation. Police say Smith was in his apartment off Midland in 2010 when he raped his neighbor's 12-year-old daughter. Police say it wasn't until recently the victim confided in her high school counselor, who alerted authorities. “(He was) an adult she counted on to take care of her protect her. He preyed on her. Took advantage of her,” said Overland Police Lieutenant Steve Branham. Smith was convicted of two counts of statutory rape in 1996. |
Man charged with shooting, attempted sexual assault was out on bond for 2007 murder WEST COLUMBIA, SC - When Nathaniel Antron Hunter was arrested for a home invasion, attempted sexual assault and shooting in West Columbia, he was out on bond for a murder that happened more than seven years ago, and was not supposed to have a gun, according to court records. Investigators say Hunter was involved in a shooting that left two people dead in Fairfield County in 2006. He was arrested four months later. In addition to the murder charge, he was charged with burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Hunter was also out on bond for an indecent exposure charge from last year. He also pleaded guilty to an indecent exposure charge in Lexington County in 2011. |
Gardena Man Accused Of Transporting Teen To LA For Prostitution LOS ANGELES — A Gardena man was expected in court Monday on charges of transporting a teenage Minnesota girl to Los Angeles to engage in prostitution, federal prosecutors said. Laron Darrell Carter, aka “Birdd,” 36, arrested this morning in Las Vegas by special agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), according to Claude Arnold, special agent in charge for HSI Los Angeles. The arrest follows a yearlong investigation launched after Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies rescued a 16-year-old girl in Los Angeles who had been reported missing from Minneapolis, Arnold said. |
Native of Liberia - sex criminal fugitive caught in London 4 years later A Clay man who has been on the run since 2010 is back in custody after authorities caught up to him in a London airport on Saturday. 47 year-old Tobias Bowen was charged with felony rape of a 17 year-old and criminal sex act in 2010, and fled to his native country of Liberia after posting bail. Since he disappeared, Onondaga County Sheriff’s detectives assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task force worked with members of the U.S. Marshals to track down Bowen’s movements. Investigators were able to track his travels to Liberia and the United Kingdom. With help from the U.S. Marshals International Investigations Branch, investigators found out Bowen was landing in London on Saturday, where he was apprehended when he got off the plane. The Department of State and Department of Justice also assisted in this case. Bowen is awaiting extradition back to the United States where the Sheriff’s office says he will face several felony related sex offense charges and an endangering the welfare of a child charge. |
Clayton County teacher arrested - charged with sexual exploitation of children ATLANTA - On Tuesday, Clayton County police arrested a local teacher, Roderick Winslow Arrington, of Covington. Arrington allegedly had a consensual relationship with a 17-year-old student. He is charged with sexual exploitation of children, having a weapon at school functions or on school property and sexual assault with a person in custody. According to police, Arrington was a science teacher at Charles Drew High School in Riverdale at the time of his arrest. Clayton County Public Schools issued a statement Tuesday afternoon stating that Arrington is no longer employed by the district. "We are taking all the appropriate and necessary steps to assure that the situation is handled effectively and to ensure the welfare and safety of our students," said spokesperson Vicki Gavalas. |
Woman arrested, accused of sexual relationship with teen girl A 24-year-old woman who admitted to an Ocala police officer that she had an inappropriate relationship with a teen girl was arrested Tuesday on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a certain minor. Ocala Police Department Officer Richard Tuck went to a northeast Ocala address due to a domestic dispute and was told by Whitney L. Simmons that her girlfriend had pepper-sprayed her in the face during an argument. Simmons told the officer that she and her girlfriend were in a sexual relationship, according to an OPD report. Simmons' girlfriend, who is 17, told the officer that she and Simmons are a couple and that they have had sex multiple times and have been dating for nearly a year. |

Ferndale student beaten unconscious in classroom by three blacks FERNDALE, Mich. - Ferndale Police have arrested two men and are searching for a third suspect said to have assaulted a classmate at their high school in Ferndale. Police say three students at Taft Digital Learning Center walked into a classroom in progress, ignoring warnings by a staff member. The students then went to a 16-year-old student and demanded he give them a cell phone. The three students then beat the victim until he was unconscious, then ran away from the school. Ferndale Lt. Bill Wilson said they ducked into a nearby liquor store, where police found two of the three suspects. Brothers Tre Barber, 20, and Tyler Barber, 19, were taken into custody. Police are still looking for the third suspect, Jashiem Ross, 18. |
2 (Black) Men Arrested For Kidnapping, Robbing Woman Who Answered Craigslist Ad For iPhone SAN JOSE — Two men were in custody for the March 10 kidnapping and robbery of a woman outside a Target store in East San Jose who answered a listing on Craigslist to buy iPhones from them, San Jose police said Monday. San Jose police, assisted by police in Visalia, Calif. and the California Department of Justice Fugitive Task Force, on Thursday located and arrested one suspect, Cody Hollinquest, 18, in Visalia, Officer Albert Morales said. The other suspect, Willie Christopher, 24, was apprehended on March 27 in Tulare, Calif., in a joint operation by the San Jose and Tulare police, Morales said. |
Keyshawn Johnson, ex-NFL star, arrested for domestic battery CALABASAS, Calif. -- Keyshawn Johnson, a former NFL star, was arrested Monday at his Calabasas home on misdemeanor domestic battery. Authorities responded to a call regarding a possible spousal assault just before 1 a.m. Deputies determined that Johnson and his ex-girlfriend were involved in a domestic dispute. Johnson was taken into custody without further incident. He was released at 9:15 a.m. after posting $20,000 bail. |

Two (black) teens charged in slaying of White man outside liquor store in 2013 MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, MI -- A warrant has been issued for a 19-year-old man in connection to a fatal shooting outside of a Mt. Morris Township liquor store. Police are asking for the public's help in locating Aaron Ivory in connection to the Dec. 2, 2013, killing of Lance Pavlow outside of the Beecher Beer and Wine store on North Saginaw Street. Ivory is described as 6 foot, 3 inches tall and weighing 190 lbs. Ivory is charged with felony murder, armed robbery and felony firearms. Pavlow, 42, was found shot after Mt. Morris Township police were called to the Beecher Beer and Wine store around 1 a.m. Dec. 2 for a report of shots fired. The warrant was issued March 20, roughly two weeks after Pavlow's wife pleaded for help in finding her husband's killer. "He didn't deserve this," Jennifer Pavlow said of her husband. "No one does." Pavlow owned his own construction company and leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter. "She asks where daddy is," Jennifer Pavlow said of her daughter. "He's gone. He's in a better place." Police say Lance Pavlow went to the store to make a purchase but was shot after he exited. Court records show 15-year-old Alonte Robinson is also charged as an adult with felony murder and armed robbery in connection to Pavlow's death. - (Black-on-white) |

White female undercover Chicago police officer in prostitution sting sustains broken nose; black man charged A West Side prostitution sting took a violent turn Friday when a man twice punched an undercover Chicago police officer in the face, leaving her with a broken nose. The vice officer was talking to a prospective john in the Lawndale neighborhood late Friday when a honking vehicle approached, an arrest report shows. Police said a man in that car said “Get off my corner, white hoe,” and the officer, trying to maintain her cover, responded by telling him to be quiet. But when the man, later identified by police as Steven Dell, got out of the car and began “aggressively advancing towards her,” the officer put her hands up and identified herself as police, the arrest report states. That didn’t deter Dell, who said he didn’t care if she was an officer and then punched her twice in the face, police and prosecutors said. Officers then arrested Dell, 44. - (Black-on-white) |
Last suspect in Wake Forest kidnapping captured RALEIGH -- The FBI says it has captured the last of two additional suspects in the kidnapping of 63-year-old Frank Janssen from his Wake Forest home. Jakym Camek Tibbs, 21, aka "Jak", was captured in Philadelphia just before 7 a.m. Monday, according to an FBI spokesperson. Quantavious Thompson, 18, aka "Quan" was captured last week. Authorities said Janssen was targeted by an imprisoned Bloods gang member - 49-year-old Kelvin Melton - who allegedly masterminded the kidnapping from his jail cell in Butner. Melton allegedly gave instructions on how to kill Janssen and dispose of his body. Janssen is the father of the Wake County prosecutor who sent Melton to prison. - (Black-on-white) |

1 of 4 (black) men waives key hearing to determine if trial is held in Detroit mob attack on (White) motorist DETROIT – A 17-year-old (Bruce Edward Wimbush Jr) charged with attempted murder in the beating of a Detroit-area motorist has waived his right to a probable cause hearing and will move his case directly to trial court. Bruce Wimbush Jr. waived the hearing Monday. The hearing continued for three other men also charged with attempted murder. Steve Utash's family is sitting in the courtroom's front row. The 54-year-old Utash spent days in a coma and remains hospitalized after the April 2 beating. He was attacked while trying to help a 10-year-boy whom he struck with his pickup truck. The other defendants are 19-year-old Latrez Cummings, 24-year-old James Deontae Davis and 30-year-old Wonzey Saffold. Separately, a 16-year-old boy is charged in Juvenile Court with assault and ethnic intimidation in the case. He's black; Utash is white. - (Black-on-white) |

Teens charged after elderly woman found beaten Easter morning DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police have arrested a teen couple after an elderly woman was found badly beaten and robbed in her home on Easter morning. Authorities said 70-year-old Bonita Vansciver has very severe injuries to her head after being struck with a rock. Markeise Favors, 18, and his girlfriend, Alexis McCray, 16, were arrested and charged in the attack. Police believe Favors hit Vansciver with the rock in order to steal her car. McCray told police he and Favors were in the Colonial Colony north community because they knew a lot of elderly people live there. |

Colored Syracuse girl tasered by cops in Nottingham High knife incident joins mom in jail without bail Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse girl accused of charging at a female student with a knife in Nottingham High School will remain in the Onondaga County jail with no bail on an alleged probation violation. Raeshanda Stephens (aka Rae Shanda Stephens), 17, had her $10,000 bail revoked by County Court Judge Anthony Aloi today because her arrest may have violated a probationary sentence from a year ago. Stephens was charged with second-degree attempted assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct after the March 28 incident at Nottingham, police said. Her mother, Corinne Monaghan, 36, was also charged with second-degree harassment, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. Her arrest also may have violated her probation, and she also remains in jail with no bail. |

Teen arrested during mob disturbance at Shawnee restaurant LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Metro Police arrested a teen they say joined dozens of people blocking the road outside of a Long John Silvers in Shawnee. Police say officers responding to the restaurant near 35th and Broadway observed approximately 50 people standing in the alley Saturday night. According to an arrest report, officers have responded to that location for multiple fights and reports of gang activity involving the youth gang "YNO" in recent weeks. When officers arrived, police say 18-year-old David Leach was standing in the parking lot of Long John Silvers and refused officers' orders to leave the location, even though allegedly he was not a customer. Police say the group of 50 people alarmed nearby residents and prevented passing motorists from driving through the crowded roadway. |
Milford Man Arrested for Indecent Exposure MILFORD, Del.- Police have arrested a 43-year-old Milford man accused of exposing himself outside a home. Milford police said that on Saturday, officers took Brian L. Tunnell into custody on four counts of indecent exposure. According to police, Tunnell's arrest stemmed from an incident that happened April 12 on the 700 block of Truitt Avenue. Investigators said that Tunnell was standing outside a home when he exposed his buttocks and then his genitals to the victims. |

Man, 72, dead, another injured in Salisbury home invasion by 'African-American' man SALISBURY, Md. —A home invasion on the Eastern Shore left a 72-year-old man dead and another man injured Wednesday. Police said they found Donald G. Mariner, 72, of Salisbury, and the second man injured. Mariner later died at the scene. The second victim, who police did not identify, told police he had been assaulted with a blunt object. He was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. State police described the assailant as an African-American man who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. - (Black-on-white) |

Man accused of exposing himself at Dayton daycare DAYTON — A drunken man allegedly walked up to the front door of a daycare Friday afternoon and exposed himself. Dayton police arrested Donald Lynn Hayes, 56, after getting a public indecency report in the 2300 block of Catalpa Drive, according to the Dayton police report. The director at Youthland Academy told police the suspect stood in front of the door touching himself while his unbelted pants sagged down, according to the report. After the director told him to leave, she called police and he walked across the street to a barber shop, where the owner kicked him out. |
Mother of 4 charged with rape and abuse of children CLEVELAND, OH - Although we've seen a growing number of female sex offenders, it's still rare to see a case where a woman is accused of sexual and physical abuse. The charges are chilling and unusual, especially for a woman. Cleveland Sex Crimes investigators have filed charges of rape and child endangering against Denitra Cox, saying she fondled two young children. Cox is also accused of physically abusing three more children, including one child with severe medical problems. The agency for Cuyahoga County Social Workers tells us workers have been dealing with the family since 2011. Cox is also a mom with four kids of her own, but last year the county took all the kids away. |
Ngai Dixon wanted for sexual assault of a child MILWAUKEE — U.S. Marshals are looking for 43-year-old Ngai Dixon. Dixon was charged in November 2012 with two felony counts of repeated sexual assault of a child. He has eluded U.S. Marshals for the past two years. U.S. Marshals say Dixon used intimidation and threats to force himself onto two teenage girls. Marshals say he was a family friend, who assaulted the girls for years, unknown to their parents. Dixon is 6 feet tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has a spiderman tattoo on his calf, and tattoos of a pitchfork and Looney Tunes figures on his arms. |
Man arrested on sex offense charge ODENTON, Md. —Anne Arundel County police arrested a man Saturday on a sex offense charge. Investigators said a woman was returning home to her apartment in the 500 block of Branch Line Road in Odenton around 4 a.m. Saturday when she was followed by a man who forced his way in and began groping and touching her. The victim screamed and the man fled on foot. Police canvassed the area and found Kevin J. Belts, 43, of Severna Park, nearby. Police said he matched a denoscription of the assailant provided by the victim. Belts was charged with first- and fourth-degree burglary, second-degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense. |
Marrero man sentenced to 90 years for killing toddler, trying to kill mother After more than two days of wrangling over whether to accept a plea deal as his trial began, a Marrero man admitted Wednesday he killed his girlfriend's 3-year-old son, and tried to kill her, too, when he sought to burn down their house. Timmie Reed, 36, was sentenced to 90 years in prison, in the Feb. 12, 2013, death of Desmond Brown, and the attempted murder of his mother, Lakisha Brown. |
Cleveland father pleads not guilty to killing newborn daughter CLEVELAND, OH - An 18-year-old man pleads not guilty to the murder of his newborn daughter. Brandon Moss is accused of killing his two-month-old baby, Renee, on April 9. The attack happened at the baby girl's home on Carson Avenue in Cleveland. Her cause of death was blunt force trauma. Moss is being held on $100,000 bond. |
Mom gets 23-year sentence in daughter's slaying DETROIT — A Detroit woman was sentenced Monday to at least 23 years in prison for fatally stabbing her 8-year-old daughter, whom a court had refused to remove from the home despite allegations of abuse. The "system failed" Tameria Greene, Wayne County Judge Margaret Van Houten said as she sentenced Semeria Greene under a plea deal between prosecutors and defense lawyers. Father’s charges upgraded to murder in 4-year-old’s accidental shooting death HOUSTON – The father of a 4-year-old boy who accidentally shot and killed himself last year is now facing an upgraded charge of murder as investigators say he failed to immediately seek emergency care, according to court documents. Marquiez Pratt, 20, is accused of leaving a loaded firearm within reach of his son Jaiden on Feb. 24, 2013 int an apartment. "The defendant did not voluntarilty deliver the complainant to a designated emeregency infant care provider." Pratt said he was asleep when his son found the gun, but a neighbor disputed that, saying she heard adults arguing immediately before hearing the gunshot. When police searched the apartment, they allegedly found cocaine and marijuana inside. The gun that killed Pratt’s son was also discovered to be stolen, police said. |
Boy, 4, killed in St. Petersburg stabbing, mother charged ST PETERSBURG, FL - A young boy was killed in Jordan Park in St. Petersburg at the hands of his own mother, police say. St. Petersburg Police say they are investigating the stabbing death of 4-year-old Joseph Artis at the Jordan Park Apartments. Police say the incident happened around 6 p.m. Police on patrol were called over by neighbor, who heard the boy's grandmother screaming. When police arrived, they saw 40-year-old Tasha Trotter, holding Joseph, suffering from multiple stab wounds on his upper body and neck, outside of the home. Officers attempted CPR on the child and he was transported to Bayfront Hospital where he was pronounced dead about 40 minutes later. Officers quickly learned from the child's grandmother, Carolyn Trotter, who is the legal guardian, that Tasha Trotter had been responsible for stabbing the child and she was quickly taken into custody without incident. Tasha Trotter is charged with first-degree murder. |
White woman beaten, robbed after stopping to help black with broken down car NAPOLEON, OH - A Good Samaritan got the shock of her life when she stopped to help someone in need along Route 6 just outside of Napoleon. The person she stopped to help drug her out of her car and beat her, over and over again. "I was like ‘are you guys okay?' Before I could finish the word ‘okay' he grabbed my ponytail - I had my hair up - and he said if you scream I'll hit you even harder," said Caleigh Roelfs. Roelfs, 19, still has scars and bruises on her face from the vicious attack. "He hit me in the face and threw me on the road. And he actually stepped on my chest like I was just a rug," said Roelfs. Roelfs laid here with her face pressed to the gravel as the man she pulled over to help rifled through her car. He searched for money before ripping her engagement ring right off her hand. That's when Roelfs says she closed her eyes and told herself "If I can't see you, you can't see me. Whenever I get scared I just close my eyes. I just kept saying that to myself if I can't see him. He can't see me." After the attack was over Roelfs said she laid there, too afraid to move. Black Calif. high school student charged after fight with White teacher SANTA MONICA, Calif. - A Santa Monica High School student is charged with assault and drug possession in connection with a fight involving a teacher. 18-year-old Blair Moore, of Los Angeles, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to several misdemeanors: two counts of threatening a public school official, one count of possession of a box cutter on school grounds, one count of marijuana possession on school grounds, and one count of force or violence against a school employee in retaliation for an act performed in the course of his or her duties. Moore was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court April 22. The charges stem from an April 4 fight captured on cellphone video that allegedly involves Moore and Mark Black, a science teacher and wrestling coach. Black has since been placed on leave pending an investigation. Authorities did not release the name of a 16-year-old male who was also reportedly involved in the altercation. Wichita Sex Offender Gets Life Sentences For Crimes Against 14 Year-Old WICHITA, Kan. -- A registered sex offender has been sentenced to life in prison for crimes against a 14 year old girl. A Sedgwick County District Court judge sentenced Gerrian Green, 32, for criminal sodomy and sexual exploitation of a child. The crimes occurred last June when the child was visiting Green’s residence in southeast Wichita Green, a documented gang member, was convicted for criminal possession of a firearm in 2000, aggravated battery in 2005 and aggravated intimidation of a witness and 2 counts of attempted aggravated indecent solicitation of a child in 2008. The victim in the 2008 case was an unrelated 12 year old girl who also testified during the recent trial. At the time of the crimes last June, Green was on parole through the State of Kansas and was a registered sex offender. |

Homicides, Kidnapping May Be Connected: LAPD A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a teenage girl in South Los Angeles, and LAPD detectives on Friday were investigating a possible connection between that crime and three homicides in the same area, officials said. Robert Ransom, 30, has been booked on three charges – kidnapping, attempted sexual assault and attempted murder, according to Cmdr. Andrew Smith of the Los Angeles Police Department. The charges stem from an incident that occurred about 6:10 p.m. March 20 near the intersection of Gage Avenue and San Pedro Street, where a man walked up to a 16-year-old girl and forced her into a van at knifepoint, authorities said. The man drove the victim to another location and attempted to sexually assault her, the LAPD said in a statement. He then drove her to an alley near Imperial Highway and New Hampshire Avenue, where she managed to escape on foot after he doused her with a flammable liquid. |

4 jailed over girl’s claim of rape at hotel Two Opelousas men are facing felony counts in the rape and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in the waning hours of a drinking party in an Interstate 49 hotel room. Two other adults, one of whom is an adult female friend of the victim who took her to the party, are accused of allowing the girl to get drunk during a game involving alcohol shots in a Regency Hotel room, where the rape of the girl occurred, according to officials and investigative records. Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow said police were called by the victim’s mother on Sunday, after her daughter arrived home. The girl was examined at Opelousas General Hospital, and detectives started an investigation that led to arrests Wednesday. “The victim alleges that she was raped by two young men attending the party,” Gallow stated Thursday. Darrell Reed, 21, was arrested on counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Ricky Stovall, 53, waived his right for a speedy trial and agreed to start his five day trial September 22nd. A pre-trial hearing is set for August 14th. Last year, the Kansas Supreme Court reversed Stovall's 2007 conviction for the rape of his teenage daughter. Police release sketch of Athens rape suspect Athens-Clarke County police this morning released a sketch of a man they said forced his way into a home and raped the person who lived there. Between 2:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. April 11, a bald, overweight man with a muscular build knocked on the door of the residence, according to a release from the police department. The resident, who did not know the man, answered the door. Once the man forced his way inside the home, he raped the resident, police said. Man charged with attempted homicide, rape in Harrisburg, police say A 44-year-old man was charged with attacking and choking a 29-year-old woman before raping her Thursday near her house in Harrisburg, according to city police. The woman told police that she was approached by a man around 11:30 p.m. after walking from a bar to her house on South Third Street, according to a city police news release. After a brief conversation, the man attacked the woman, striking her several times and choking her until she almost lost consciousness, police said. During the attack, the woman said she was raped. Details into the police investigation were not made public Tuesday, but detectives said they identified 44-year-old Roy E. Gilbert-Kristman as a potential suspect and the woman confirmed his identity. |
Dallas police say rape suspect preyed on patient at rehab facility where he worked Police arrested a Dallas man accused of sexually assaulting a female patient at a drug-rehabilitation facility where he works. After he was arrested, Anthony Sennette Jackson, 41, was charged with the sexual assault of a female patient at his place of work — Homeward Bound Inc./Trinity Center Behavioral Healthcare Services in North Oak Cliff. About 4:45 am on March 9, the woman went to the kitchen in the facility to get a sandwich. She saw Jackson sitting on the couch watching a movie. He asked if she wanted to join him, she said she didn’t but sat down on the couch to eat her sandwich because she was not allowed to eat in her room. She fell asleep on the couch and woke up to Jackson rubbing her lower back. He stated that he was giving her a massage. She told him to stop and fell back asleep. At one point she said that she remembers him saying “why don’t we get up and go to one of these vacant rooms” to continue massaging her. She said she remembered waking up in a separate room with Jackson on top of her. |
Murder, rape sentencing postponed A judge on Thursday adjourned the sentencing of Darshawn Morris for the rape, slaying and attempted dismemberment of a 13-year-old girl after a party last summer in his East Side apartment. A jury last month convicted Morris, 21, of second-degree murder, second-degree rape and second-degree criminal sexual act in the Sept. 1 attack on Lanasha Rollerson after the party in his Hagen Street apartment. Black arrested in fatal shooting of White man at Gallagher Park OMAHA, Neb. —Omaha police said one person has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Monday night. Dennis Brewer, Jr. , 21, faces a count of criminal homicide, according to police. Officers said the investigation continues into the shooting at Gallagher Park, just across the street from Benson High School. As officers arrived at the scene to investigate a report of shots fired, authorities said, two shooting victims showed up at Methodist Hospital. One died a short time later. The deceased victim was identified as Tielor Williams, 18. The victim who suffered non-life-threatening injuries was identified as Joshua Schmitt, 22. Black gang member convicted of attempted murder for near-fatal beating of White student SAN DIEGO - A man was convicted Thursday of robbery and premeditated attempted murder for a crime spree with a fellow gang member that included the near-fatal beating of an 18-year-old UC Berkeley student in the College area of San Diego. Terrence Lavar Jarvis, 28, faces 155 years to life in prison when he is sentenced May 30. Jurors deliberated about a day before finding Jarvis guilty of robbery, attempted robbery, shooting at an inhabited dwelling and the attempted murder of Grant Richman. The attempted robbery count stemmed from Jarvis' May 12, 2011, attempt to rob a medical marijuana dispensary in La Mesa, during which his gun went off and narrowly missed a teenage girl. Jurors deadlocked on whether Jarvis pulled the trigger. Springfield Police Arrest Black Female Suspected Of Murdering White Man SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Police have made an arrest in the March death of a Springfield man. Back on March 22, police responded to 5 Temple Street after neighbors reported a strange odor coming from a sixth floor apartment. When they arrived, they found 61-year-old Craig Sheridan of Springfield dead in apartment #603 and investigators say that he had been dead for about a week when he was discovered. Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says that Sheridan’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s office. Delaney adds that around 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, detectives arrested 28-year-old Diomaris Valentin of Springfield on charges of murder. 2 blacks charged in kidnapping of NC prosecutor's White father RALEIGH, N.C. - The FBI is offering up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest of two men suspected in the kidnapping of a North Carolina prosecutor's father. The FBI said Wednesday they are seeking Jakym Camel Tibbs and Quantavious Thompson, also known by the nickname "Kirkwood Quan." The agency says the two should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities say six other people are accused in the kidnapping last week following a late-night raid by the FBI on an Atlanta apartment. Rescued was Frank Arthur Janssen, a Wake Forest man whose daughter is an assistant district attorney in Wake County. Authorities said the kidnappers made demands regarding Kelvin Melton, a high-ranking Bloods street gang member serving a life sentence in a North Carolina prison for a 2011 shooting. |
2 cowardly black teenagers arrested in beating, robbery of 81-year-old White woman West Memphis police have arrested two teenagers in the beating and robbery of an elderly woman Monday night. Terrio Pope, 19, and Ramon Huntley, 17, both of West Memphis, have each been charged with aggravated residential burglary, first-degree battery and robbery. Both defendants are being held at the Crittenden County Detention Center on $350,000 bonds. The 81-year-old woman told police that two masked men broke through her back door and beat her before rummaging through her apartment and taking her car keys. Murder trial date moved for black suspected of murdering his white girlfriend CEDAR CITY — A 5th District Court Judge on Tuesday rescheduled a five-day jury trial for a 52-year-old Cedar City man accused of killing his girlfriend to give attorneys more time to prepare for trial. Judge John Walton agreed to continue Kerry Lynn Richardson’s court date initially slated for May 19 to after the first of July. Richardson originally faced charges of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, in connection with the beating of his girlfriend on Sept. 9, 2012. The charges were later amended to first-degree felony murder after the woman died in the hospital. According to court documents, police were called to 1597 N. Cedar Blvd., where they found Richardson’s girlfriend, 47-year-old Tracy Ellen Little, lying amid a bloody scene in the bedroom. The police on scene at the time reported Little had suffered multiple head and face fractures. She was later flown to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray where she died 10 days later. Black indicted for murder of White jewelry store manager A grand jury has indicted the suspect in the 2011 homicide of jewelry store manager Steve Toms not only for murder and armed robbery, but for joining four others in a criminal enterprise in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. For Toms’ Nov. 15, 2011, fatal shooting in the Gold & Silver Trading Center Michael Jerome Johnson was indicted on two counts of felony murder for killing Toms, 63, while committing the felonies of armed robbery and aggravated assault. He also was indicted for the robbery and assault offenses and for using a firearm to commit a crime. In the same indictment the grand jurors included charges against Dimitrius Gordon, Sidney Person, Xavier Bell, Jockas Gilchrist and Theodore Alexander, who with Johnson are alleged to have planned and carried out a series of attempted or armed robberies around the city. The gunman found no one at the front counter when he entered the jewelry store, but someone in the back called out “Who’s there?” Toms peeked out and saw the gun, and tried to flee, but the robber caught him and brought him back to the front, where Toms opened the register and surrendered the cash. The robber then saw a ring on Toms’ finger and demanded it. When Toms refused and reached for a gun under the counter, the robber shot him several times, Johnson told Tyner. - (Black-on-white) |
Black man charged with murder of White employee who walked in on burglary LOUISVILLE, KY – A man is facing murder charges in connection to the assault of a man who walked in on a burglary at his place of employment, resulting in his death. According to Louisville Metro police, Raymon Murrell was booked into Louisville Metro Department of Corrections at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday. Police said on Friday morning Phillip Schulz, 63, of Jeffersonville, was going to work at Packaging Unlimited, located at 1121 West Kentucky Street, when he came across Murrell who was unlawfully entered the business to break into vending machines. Officers said during the burglary Murrell hit Schulz in the head. Schulz was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. He was pronounced dead Saturday just before 9 p.m. According to the coroner's office, Schulz died of head and neck injuries from the assault. Police say an 84-year-old man was held at gunpoint by two men wearing ski masks, who they say kicked the older man when he was thrown to the ground in a scuffle. Neighbors say the home is owned by Sven Ellstrom, the owner of Ellstrom Manufacturing. He’s also known locally for racing his hydroplanes at the annual Seafair. Police say the men broke into the back of the home around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday night. Black Man Charged With Punching Woman, 70, At Brooklyn Subway Station NEW YORK — A man was charged Tuesday with punching a 70-year-old woman in the face in a Brooklyn subway station. James Showell, 54, of Brooklyn, was charged with assault in connection with the attack, which happened around 10:45 a.m. Sunday, March 30, at the 4th Avenue-9th Street R Train platform in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The victim – Judith Maroney, 70 – talked about the attack earlier this month.
