And she said Inslee had not bothered to speak to her before announcing he was suspending the sentences of all nine of the state's death row inmates. She said: 'He’s absolutely wrong 'I don’t feel that my family and my grandchildren and my great grandchildren should clothe and feed Gregory and take care of all his health needs and dental care for the rest of his life. - (Black-on-white)

  • My daughter, Jade Harmony Moore, was murdered 28 days before her 19th birthday on April 28th, 1996.
Dwayne Woods is on death row in Walla Walla, Washington and I will get to watch him take his last breath ----- someday. Jade, and two other girls that are sisters were involved. They were all three beaten with a baseball bat, one at a time. Jade was also raped, and one of the girls was stabbed a few times. He was the boyfriend of one of the girls, and believe it or not, SHE is the one that lived. Jade and the other girl both died. The one girl was brain dead right away, and never came back. Jade talked to the doctors and police, and told everyone who did it. The doctors were going to keep her in the hospital overnight, then let her go home the next day. They said she was going to have a real bad headache for a couple of days, but should be fine. At 6:00 that night, a blood clot dislodged from her brain, and she was brain dead. They did tests for 24 hours, but she couldn't breath on her own. I actually have 2 death dates because of that. She actually died April 27th, but because they have to do tests for 24 hours, the legal death date is April 28th. I will never stop loving and missing her. My heart hurts all the time. Jade has two brothers, which I am so thankful for. We were lucky, our trial went smoothly and we took it as far as we could. I've become a cemetery mom. That has become my place of comfort. I have all kinds of things glued to the cement surrounding her headstone. Pictures of her, poems, hearts, anything I can find that will work. Her 21st birthday was I think the hardest "event" for me to get through.

Black suspect released days before allegedly executing White woman
Brandy KeenanBriceson CarterNEW ORLEANS -- Brandy Keenan was a troubled young woman. Battling drug addiction, the 38-year-old mother of five had been arrested several times because of her habit. Her spontaneous trips to New Orleans were usually greeted with anxiety by the rest of her family back in Bogalusa. Last September, Keenan’s grandmother Dorothy Courtois begged her not to go. “We often worried about it,” Courtois said. “That she might get hurt down there, get put back in jail or something like that. But we never thought that she'd be murdered.” Tragically, that’s exactly what happened. What Keenan couldn't have known was that she would run into a man with criminal troubles far greater than her own. According to police, the trouble came from 29-year-old Briceson Carter. On Oct. 12, he allegedly bound Brandy Keenan by the hands and feet, shot her execution-style, and left her body in a weed-choked abandoned lot. All within a few square miles. Brandy's father Wayne Jenkins said he can barely cope. - (Black-on-white)
  • Inmate arrested on count of murder
Briceson Carter sauntered up to a woman on the Mississippi River levee in the Lower 9th Ward early on the morning of Oct. 13 and asked her for her number. The woman declined his request, which he followed up with another one: “Well, why don’t you just give me your cellphone and money? If you don’t, I will kill you,” he said as he pointed a gun at the woman, according to New Orleans police and court documents. After a lengthy ordeal, that woman was spared. Another one was not so lucky. Police arrested Carter, 29, on Friday on a count of second-degree murder in the death of Brandy Keenan, 38, of Bogalusa. He was already in jail in connection with the armed robbery of the other woman.
  • (Negro) Judge who disdains pretrial services declined to jail man later accused of kidnapping, robbery, killing
Ben WillardCriminal District Judge Ben Willard pressed his fingertips together and calmly told the New Orleans City Council recently that he didn't want the advice of a third-party consultant when it comes to ruling on defendants' bonds. But Willard's own reputation for discretion from the bench took a hit recently. He let defendant Briceson Carter out on bond in August despite a number of red flags. Not only had Carter missed an earlier court hearing on a crack cocaine charge, but he was also staring at a life sentence for his lengthy rap sheet. Carter, 29, is now behind bars, accused of robbing one woman and killing another last month in the Lower 9th Ward.

Black Sudanese immigrant to return to court in 2005 slaying of White American woman - his semen found in her house
Garang DengGarang DengMarilyn BethellWhen Garang Deng pleaded guilty to murder more than four years ago, it seemed like the final act of a tale that stretched from war-torn Sudan to a peaceful Kane County bike path. After breaking into the home of Marilyn Bethell of Aurora in October 2005, Deng took her to the Illinois Prairie Path and shot her once in the head, Kane County prosecutors said. Almost immediately after his guilty plea in 2009, Deng regretted it and began the legal process to withdraw the plea. An appeals court ruled in his favor in June. Deng is scheduled to return to Kane County on Tuesday in his first court appearance in legal proceedings that eventually could lead to a new trial. "We're preparing as if we're going to trial," State's Attorney Joe McMahon said. Deng, who was 14 at the time of the slaying, was a Sudanese refugee whose family had left the African nation when he was a young boy to seek a more peaceful life. But Deng accumulated a history of juvenile offenses in DuPage County beginning at age 11, authorities said. Deng allegedly broke into Bethell's house sometime around Oct. 31, 2005. Her car was involved in a crash that day, and someone matching Deng's denoscription was seen running from the vehicle, police said. Bethell's body wasn't found until Dec. 26. - (Black-on-white)

Killer's family to victim's kin: 'We hate you' - Milwaukee black-on-white murder casts long shadows
Nathan PotterSeandell JacksonSeandell JacksonIt appears crimes have long shadows, at least several years in some cases. Seandell Jackson killed Nathan Potter in Milwaukee in 2009. Jackson was a convicted felon who had shot someone a few hours before he shot Potter. For the same reason: Of course it was a robbery, but he told the judge he thought he was “having fun.” Potter was college student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. By all accounts a gentle soul. A free spirit. A few hours before Potter’s execution, at least one person dialed 911 to report a couple of sketchy characters lurking around the neighborhood. There had been a robbery there the night before. It was Jackson and his friend. Police never showed. Jackson and his friend were hunting for victims when they saw Potter leave a bar. They stalked him, accosted him, demanded money and killed him. During the questioning, the killer repeatedly referred to his victim as the “little white boy.- (Black-on-white)
  • Deputies subdue killer after he reacts to life sentence - April 16, 2010
A man convicted of murdering University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee film student Nathan Potter was wrestled to the ground, pepper-sprayed and taken under guard from a courtroom Friday after he was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole. Seandell Jackson spat a string of obscenities at Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Rebecca Dallet as three deputies and Milwaukee police Detective James Hutchinson dragged Jackson to the floor of her courtroom. Moments before, Jackson's attorney, Patrick Earle, had asked Dallet to weigh into her sentence the 19-year-old Jackson's youth and, as Earle put it, his "lack of impulse control." As authorities struggled to subdue Jackson, members of his family stood in the back of the courtroom and taunted Potter's family. "I hate you!" a woman yelled toward the Potters. "I hate you all!"

Black Mob Violence in Macon: What’s Snow Got to Do with It?
WARNER ROBINS -- Two teens have been arrested in connection with an attack in front of Warner Robins High School while school was out due to snow.John J. Owens is absolutely sure race had nothing to do with the reason why 30 black people attacked five white people, including a mom and a baby, near Macon Georgia last week. The alleged assailants and victims could have been any race. “Color doesn’t matter, only the ‘idiot factor’ matters,” opined Mr. Owens in the Macon Telegraph. That means the rest is random. Anyone who ever took — and passed — a course in elementary statistics might wander about why Mr. Owens is so willing to dismiss race as a factor in the violence. Because the odds of 30 black people “randomly” attacking five white people — including the woman and child — are about the same as the odds of fully loaded jet liner crashing on your front lawn. Twice. On the same day. With your mom in the first plane. And your long lost brother in the second. - (Black-on-white)

In 1974, police quickly ruled out robbery as a motive for the slaying and said Ferro didn't appear to have been sexually assaulted.
